Really enjoyed the show. Big Monty Python fan for many years and didn't know how it would move to stage. Great Job! But, why doesn't the staff allow patrons to take their seats earlier? Shouldn't be standing in line to get in 5 min before show.

This play is lots of fun. I was very surprised at the age ranges of the attendees. From tweens to retirees, they all enjoyed it. Those of us who were products of the 70s and are familiar with the Monty Python's Flying Circus TV show and movies probably enjoyed it a little bit more than the rest - we remember all the great lines. :)

I went with my family, my two sons, 17 and 11 years old, are big fans of Monty Python and knew the lyrics and music of all songs. We all had a blast! The show was fantastic, the cast was great, superb voices, especially the actress that played The Lady of the Lake. It was unforgettable. A plus was the location, BInghamton Forum, near home and a beautiful theater.

My wife and I went to see this play. She's not much into Monty Python, in fact not a fan at all. Even my wife enjoied it! The suprise ending, the way other Python "bits" were worked into the play, Pure genious! If your a Monty Python fan it's a must see! I just wish that I could have seen the Broadway wersion with the origonal cast from the movie.

Spamalot was excellent at the Hollywood Bowl on July 31. There were so many jokes that we could see it again and still feel like it was the first time. Eric Idle presented the play to a stand up crowd. I highly recommend it. All the characters were top notch professionals.

I love Spamalot but I was not that impressed with this production. I felt a little like I was watching a dress rehearsal, there were quite a few hiccups with props and sets and the sound. I enjoyed seeing some actors I normally wouldn't see in a musical on stage, but it felt a little under-rehearsed. Musicals at the Bowl in general are an enjoyable experience though, its more for the atmosphere than show quality.

My first time to Hollywood Bowl, and first time seeing Spamalot. Great venue, great sound, GREAT SHOW! Cast was outstanding, was not aware that Christian Slater was in it, what a surprise to see him! And of course Jesse Tyler Ferguson, he fits right in to this genre. I would see it again, and again, and again......

I saw Spamalot several years ago, and have listened to the soundtrack. Sunday's performance was on a par with both. The singing and choreography were top flight, and the set worked very well. I particularly enjoyed the updated references, such as a drought tolerant shrubbery, and the Diva being replaced by Taylor Swift instead of Brittany Spears. Merle Dandridge has one of the finest voices around and it was a treat and an honor to hear her perform live. And although I know the story line, it was gratifying to hear the laughter of those who didn't know what was coming next, and were pleasantly surprised at the humor. Having Eric Idle perform, although only as the historian, was a bonus. I was also surprised at how many of the cast members I was familiar with from TV and movies. I think they also had a marvelous time doing Mont y Python antics. Who knew they could sing so well?

What an evening! So much energy, so much fun, such troupers! The weather even cooperated…Truly enjoyed every performer. My 18 year old son purchased the CD when we left and we were all singing, "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life!". Now that's how family memories are made! Don't forget to bring binoculars if you want the up close feel (even the jumbotron could not catch all the action). P.S. Ticketmaster I'm thinking you could come up with a better nickname for me…smirk

It is such a funny play however our seats were in section M and that is just way too far away to get the real enjoyment of a play. I tried to get tickets on the first day but it seems near impossible to get good seats if you are just on the website. The only downside of this performance was the weak voice of the King Arthur.

We recently had the pleasure of seeing Spamalot at the Hollywood Bowl. It is my favorite Broadway show and I have seen it several times at other venues. I was amazed that they could put on such a terrific full production in front of 17,000 + people. The sets, lighting, and costumes were great. The entire cast was good, but Jessie Tyler Ferguson was the stand out star. It was only at the bowl for three days, but if you have a chance to see it ANYWHERE, I would highly recommend that you do!

Unless you are in the first 50 rows you have to watch the jumbotrons , I have seen Spamalot onstage on Broadway and downtown. This performance was very disappointing. some of the scenes were rewritten or restaged to fit. Particularly throwing the cows and the attack bunny were cheesy I think the Bowl is great for music, LA Phil, country, rock&roll that's the Bowl at its best

Wonderful work from Tom Deckman, Rick Holmes, and Merle Dandridge (all vets of the original Broadway run) and solid work from Warwick Davis. The eternal struggle: Cast polished, obscure stage actors and have a tight, crisp show or cast famous screen actors and sell tix.. Lady of the Lake was strong. Robinson and Slater were weak. They cut the Black Knight?? The joke at the end should have been changed to "Just think, in 1000yrs, this will finally be legal!"

I love this show and they made it very CA-friendly; however the sound was a problem at times - both technically with the king's microphone failing and the line up with the God video and there were times when understanding what was being spoken or sung was not clear - despite that I still enjoyed this show and this awesome venue very much

I'm a huge Monty Python fan and love this show but I saw a high school production that was better than this one. It felt like the cast was a bunch of screen actors trying their best to go Broadway. Only Warwick Davis stood out as great, and of course Ms. Dandridge was marvelous. Otherwise, unless you are just looking for the Hollywood Bowl experience I would say save your $ and see a true Broadway production.

Our group ranged in age from 10 to 47 and we laughed our collective a**es off. It was a great way to kick off the holiday season and something we hope to repeat in the future. The updated referenced to Britney Spears & Subway were just as funny as the classic Monty Python lines and made the show fresh. We cracked up until we snorted and that just made us laugh harder. We recommend it to everyone & prior exposure to Monty Python is NOT a prerequisite to enjoying this show.

We were looking forward to this show as my husband is a big Monty Python fan and he has always wanted to see the production. I should have known when the ticket prices were low that it was amateur at best. The theater was run down but the prices for popcorn, wine, etc were at least cheap. Seats in the theater were sub par and there was worn out carpeting everywhere! The production itself seemed to be a local group?? Some didn't seem to know their lines, some were mouthing the songs and most of the time their voices could not be heard, maybe due to malfunctioning equipment. Most of the cast did not seem to know what they were supposed to do or when and watched others in their troupe, especially the four "dancers" all seemed to be doing something different. I felt like I was at a bad High School musical!! The sets were childish at the least and the troupe blocked the doorways out as we tried to exit the theater where everyone was trying to avoid them!!

Albeit a local Troupe, with limited budget, they put forth a memorable performance. Monty Iafrate, as Patsy, was a key performance in a Supporting Role. My minds Eye flashed back to the Great Marty Feldman through his performance. All in all, the energy and effort was commendable. Thank You for time and dedication Lee Perry, Cheryl McCoy, Nate Hamblin, Ernest Werth, Bruce McFadden, Peter an Jordan Frontiero, Marty Garavaglia, G.G. Royce, Nattalie Padilla the Laker Girls,Chorus and the 'unseen' and always under appreciated Crew Members whom are a bigger part then the whole. BRAVO!!!

My wife and I attended the opening night of Spamalot. While I had an inkling of the kind of show we were about to see, my wife had never seen even a Monty Python skit and was unsure about whether she would enjoy the show. She was soon laughing in her seat as play progressed. Arthur and Patsy were well teamed. And Jordan Frontiero's performance during "Not Dead Fred" and as the prince were certainly highlights of the show. A glitch with a prop on a flying character only added to this raucous show. I would highly recommend this show to anyone who wants an affordable night out and needs a good laugh to take home.

I must confess that I've only seen bits and pieces of the Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie, so I wasn't sure if I would totally understand this musical. Thankfully it did not require any prior knowledge. The British humor was quick and very funny and the cast did a great job, especially King Author and Patsy! Actually, the entire ensemble did an amazing job! I loved the props, the costumes and the upbeat dancing and singing. It was all so well done and well worth going to see! Monty Python Spamalot rather stale, not very funny Jokes often required for us laughter and although the choreography and stage facts were interesting, the acting and the material was not Broadway quality and not worth the money I paid for the ticket. Particularly given the cost, the audience at this showing should have been given at least a partial refund for one simple reason: we saw something more akin to a rehearsal than a polished performance. Most likely due to the inclusion of so many Hollywood-based TV/film actors, the show came across as unrehearsed and (at times) even amateurish. It was clear that everything from memorizing lines (particularly the lead actor, Craig Robinson) and perfecting timing to ironing out technical issues (multiple microphones) needed more work. In all fairness, it's not every show at the Bowl that involves the audience knowing the lines as well as or better than the actors, but that should have been expected by the cast. All in all, the show was significantly disappointing. I'm sure we would have been better off with the touring cast.

The Tony Award-winning best musical Monty Python s Spamalot was the Hollywood Bowl s summer musical this year. It played for 3 nights, and featured a all-star cast featuring stars of stage, film and TV. It was based on the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail and tells the story of King Arthur and the knights of the round table. This was my 2nd time seeing the show — I had previously seen a small production of the show 2 years before. Knowing how fun this show was and how catchy the songs are, I knew I had to see this production. So you got to see Craig Robinson (Hot Tub Time Machine, This the the End), Christian Slater (Interview with the Vampire) and Jesse Tyler Furgeson (Modern Family) among others — singing and dancing for our enjoyment. Every production I have seen before at the Bowl has been very memorable — I saw Rent and Hairspray previously at this venue. From this production, I got a better idea of what the Broadway version must have been like, because of the high production values. There were a lot more sets, costumes and dancers than the production I had seen previously. It was almost like it was another show. And add in the fact that the show lends itself to plenty of pop culture references… so those were updated from when I saw it too. There was a big dance number with the King and his knights… with fake tap dancing sounds added to the mix. Then there was a gag added during the time in the forest that included the lyrics to Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson. Plus with the gay wedding in Act 2, they added that it would still be controversial 1000 years later too. They even joked about the California drought during the part of the show where the knights had to find a shrubbery. The outer rim of the Bowl was used as a backdrop for some great visuals that were projected onto it… to create a forest, a church, a Las-Vegas inspired Camelot and much more. The walkway near the pool section of the box seats was used several times during the night… with the knights walking across it, and the Lady of the Lake doing her big solo number in the 2nd act too. It was cool to have one of the original Monty Python troupe in this production (Eric Idle) — since he is one of the writer s of the show. Broadway veteran Merle Dandridge played the diva role of the Lady in the Lake like she was born into royalty. I also loved the part where the knights went to the French castle and the guard taunted them… with his head bopping around the edges of the ups and downs of the castle top — that was pretty inspired. Song and performance highlights for me were: The Song That Goes Like This , Find Your Grail , You Won't Succeed on Broadway and the rousing finale Always Look on the Bright Side of Life. Thanks to the cast and crew for another fun show at the Bowl.

Second time that I have seen the show and it was very, very funny. The four star rating is because this performance was not as good as the last time I saw it. The character of the "Lady of the Lake" was not performed as well as the first time which was way beyond hilarious. In this performance the part was a supporting part, in the last the audience could not wait for the actress to take the stage each time that she was on and the applause for her at the end was huge. She turned the part into a major role and was extremely funny. All in all a very fun show, an enjoyable evening and highly recommended.

This is the ultimate live experience for Monty Python fans. There is nothing better than being able to buy coconuts before the show and use them during the performance. What a blast! The actors were amazing, you would swear it was the original cast. Can't wait to see it againl.

As a long time fan of Monty Python, I wasn't sure what to expect. This production had me laughing from the opening scene through the last scene. The cast was superb. Abigail Rave was the show-stopper. Absolutely no technical glitches. Great seats. My granddaughter, Payton, has not seen the original movie. It is now on her to-do list. Thanks for a great show.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I went to the play - husband has been wanting to see it for awhile so he was extremely excited. i have to admit I was thoroughly entertained and had a wonderful time. The actors in the play were fabulous and the Lady of the Lake was perfect, her voice was amazing and her spunky attitude rocked. I am so glad that I went and thankful that we are able to get quality plays like this at our venue since I can't see them on Broadway.

In Monty Python's Spamalot, you will find the true spirit of the Monty Pythons, and not only an "adaptation to make money".

A good show, even better for Monty Python appreciators who can enjoy ALL of the subtleties. Outstanding ensemble work both vocally and dancing. Great interaction and presence. Glenn Giron (Patsy) still incredibly wonderful. Such a dead pan and a perfect "Patsy" portrayal. Arthur Rowan (KA) had a royal presence and carry and was spot on kingly in his work. Abigail Raye (Lady) was right there for the look and attraction the role demands. However, her voice was about 70%. Just didn't have that "reach out and grab you" with a very off-putting vibrato, rather tremelo, when singing all but the big parts. Too big a role to fall short on with her belty but not beautiful sound. Great job, great jokes, so very entertaining. You leave feeling better than when you arrive. Isn't that the point?

I bought these tickets for my husband who loves Monty Python as an anniversary gift. While I am not fully familiar with the movie,,,I was thoroughly entertained by the wonderful production and the many references to other Broadway shows that I do know!

I have really wanted to see this show since I heard about it and was not disappointed. I have always liked Monty Python. This had a good mix of the old known jokes and songs and new things that were still felt familiar. It kept me laughing regularly and at a few points even singing along.

This musical was not only inappropriate but offensive. My husband and I left right after the intermission. I have seen the movie and it definitely has its moments, which I was prepared for, but this was in a whole different league. It has crude humor, inappropriate gestures, and bad language throughout the whole musical. It seemed as though the focus was on the inappropriateness. I would strongly recommend that Ticket Master put a disclaimer that no children should see this. (I was in the elevator with a family of four (with children in their pre-teens) and I can only imagine the talk the parents had to have with those kids after seeing this show.) I certainly will not be recommending this show to any of my friends or coworkers.

I had not been to a performance at Robinson Center in over ten years. SPAMALOT was the perfect show to see on April Fool's Day! Cast and score were solid, and my friends and I could not stop laughing and dancing in our seats. The perfect level of snark, naughtiness, humor, and joy!

The show was a rollicking good time! I took someone that had never even seen anything Monty Python related and she really enjoyed herself. The presentation was over the top, just as it should be. Incredible!

I watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail years ago and enjoyed it. To me, however, it never reached the hallowed status of unforgettable cult classic, as it has to so many others. The show is as much a tribute as it is a retelling of that film. As such, to those who love the film, the show had added enjoyment, I'm sure, as was evidenced by the actors' knowing pauses before delivering an especially memorable line. For a fan, I imagine it's a must-see. For someone who enjoyed the film but didn't quite embrace it with unfaltering love, however, the show was both fun and funny, but not nearly so captivating as I had been lead to believe. There's a sizable portion of Broadway/theater jokes added in the mix, so consider that also before committing to this show. Go in without expectations and, if you're like me, you're likely to have a good time. Just don't expect to be blown away.

This is the second time we have seen the show and our party of seven - from 21 to 51 years old - all enjoyed the music, comedy, and story references to the Monty Python catalog of comedy. The show keeps your attention throughout and the audience energy was evident all evening. Highly recommend, even if you are not familiar with Monty Python - you will not be sorry. Take a chance!

New material keeps the production fresh. The same basic story line but with current leaning. Something to offend everyone as usual. This professional production looks to keep this show running for ever.
