El Paso Symphony Orchestra

One of the best concerts I have been to. Really loved it.

This was the best event I've attended at the Plaza Theater. Totally full house. Interactive performers that responded to the audience. Excellent music.

This was the first orchestra I've experienced. My wife and I enjoyed the theater and the music. The rest of the building is lacking in amenities. It would truly be amazing if they would invest a little more into the bar, getting a cafe, or souvenirs and such.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed this show!! I couldn't hear the bass and the vocal were buried a bit but that's the sound crew fault. Over all I give this 5 stars because it's Led Zeppelin's music they did an awesome job!! Wait to go Randy Jackson/band and El Paso Symphony Orchestra!!

Good time, lots of fun. Very engaging singer, drummer and guitarist were fantastic. Had a great time, wish it was longer.

Great Concert!! Total crowd participation, singing, dancing, jokes!!! Those that missed the Mystery Tour-a Tribute to the Beatles really missed a good show!!

I have been to numerous Beatles tribute bands, from all levels of professionalism. I have even been IN one! I have orchestrated, arranged music, and have studied Beatle-lore since I was a young boy. This by far has been the best tribute to The Beatles I have seen, not to belittle other great groups, and obviously the orchestra gave them a great advantage. But even STILL, the guys demonstrated mannerisms and even the slightest nuances that Beatle-fans appreciate: some of these include Paul tousling and "fixing" his hair (just like Macca did), their "footwork," stance, accents, diction, etc. The music was stupendous and backed up by the excellent EPSO. The vocal harmonies were right on, to the point that the chords blended and sounded exactly like the Beatles recording. Throughtout, they even played with the crowd and had fun on stage. When the crowd asked for more, not only did they do one encore, but they did several extra numbers, which made the crowd love them more. All-in-all, it was the best concert I've attended so far "In my Life" so far. P.S.- El Paso better keep bringing Beatle-related acts here, the crowd just loves them (as I'm sure they do everywhere else).

We really loved everything about this concert! The musical arrangements, the "Beatles", the conductor, and, of course, the El Paso Symphony were all fantastic! It brought back great memories, it was lively, fun...just a great evening! We were really glad we attended!

These guys put on a great show. They were funny and very entertaining. Would definitely recommend this show.

I THOUGHT THAT THE SHOW WAS GREAT. THE SYMPHONY'S PERFORMANCE WAS EXCELLENT. THE BACKGROUND LIGHTING WAS LESS THAN DESIRABLE BUT IT WOULD HAVE ENHANCED THE SHOW IF THEY HAD SOMETHING ELSE ON THE SCREEN OTHER THAN THE SAME GRAPHS BEING SHOWN OVER AND OVER.

Great show, I would like to see it again !. They should do a series of presentation in the same city. I am pretty sure that some people would like to see it twice

It was awesome!!!! The Beatles were great but the symphony was awesome. We need more entertainment like this. Not everybody will attend classical music but music with differnt themes would be great, like starwars or something to that effect. Anyway, thank you to all the organizers of this show and keep them coming. P.S. put the word out ,so more people can attend. I have alot of friends that new nothing about the show and would have attended otherwise.

Had seen this group in Indianapolis, Indiana, but the show in El Paso was GREAT!!!!

We loved the show! The venue is our favorite in town and the music and entertainment was unforgettable!

I enjoyed it so much. It was such a nice evening for my husband and myself. I felt like I was really there listening to the Beatle. The orchestra conductor was a big hit as well.

The concert was amazing. Listening live Beatles songs brought back childhood memories of when my parents played their sons. It was a great experience.

Well played and symphony was fantastic. Not sure the conductor was supposed to be as involved has he was but he sure had fun!!! I don't see why they sell their stuff when u can get the oriiginal beatles music??

Had a great time! I don't usually like tribute bands,but these guys were good. Brought back great memories and we left feeling groovy.

My Family and I loved it. The choir was great and the orchestra was fantastic. Something to look forward to every year.

I am a EPSO fanatic, all my family really enjoyed the musical performance, I do have to say that the church chorus was a bit too much, too loud, and not everyone enjoys this type of singing. I don't only speak for myself, when in line for the yummy cookies and hot chocolate, I heard several people sharing the same opinion. I really hope that all these people share this in their reviews, so maybe for next year, if the chorus comes back, it is for only one or two songs. This type of chorus is not for everyone, there was a point during the concert (during the Emmanuel song) where the Orchestra could not even be heard, and really, we paid to hear and see the Symphony, not the church chorus.

The show was expectacular, except for the soprano. I think she is very good for operas but not for christmas holiday songs.

Technical difficulties, repetitive dance moves, poor choreography, songs cut off in the middle, weird stage entrances and exits, having two "Michaels" at the same time on stage, all left much to be desired.

This was a great family event especially for our 8 year old Michael Jackson fan!!!

One of the best shows ever! Loved all the performers, they were just awesome! The dancers and the band were amazing! I would definitely recommend for everyone to see this show!

Excellent show. Energentic. Talented singer. The EPSO was terrific.

Several years ago, we started attending the El Paso Symphony concerts with a rock theme or cinematic theme and they have all been great. The combination of symphony and rock or cinematic music (Star Wars) has been exceptional. The latest concert with a tribute to the Rolling Stones did not disappoint. It was a very good concert and the performer for the lyrics was excellent and added a little fun while teaching some "Mick Jagger" moves. I would highly recommend these events to anyone who loves music.

The lead singer, who was not a great imitation of Mick Jagger, completely dominated the show. His little band was loud,, leaving the symphony as sort of a back up band.

What a fun night. It's amazing to see the Orchestra perform rock music and do it so well! The group that played with them was entertaining and full of energy.

The music was amazing and I would recommend this presentation to any of my friends.

The lead singer was a bit cheesy but in a fun way and the best parts were when he managed to get the audience to loosen up and dance. It was a fun time, the orchestra was good, we'd go again.

It was a very pleasant surprise, I was only expecting to hear the symphony, (did not know that "Classical Mystery Tour" was a group) so when this quartet came out to sing the Beatles songs, it was a great complement, highly recommend.

It was amazing we had such a great time with the Beatles it really brought back the good times. Even my mother-in-law had a great time. The Beatle group and the Orchestra were fantastic and we enjoyed every minute of it. A great Thank-You to both of them

An absolutely awesome show. The orchestra was truly impressive. The orchestra conductor had fire in his veins and at times seemed like he was going to go into a seizure! ha. So cool to see the many Beatles songs with supporting orchestra instruments played live.

This was a fun night for my husband and I. It really made us wonder how awesome it must have been to see the real Beatles in person. Classical Mystery Tour are at lot of fun and really get the crowd going. They picked a great set of songs to play. EPSO was great!

Almost too much fun! The mix of old folks who loved them in the '60s, those from the 70's and then bunches of high school and college kids made for a great audience.

I had previously attended a Symphony collaboration in tribute to Queen & thought it was amazing, so I was really looking forward to the Beatles tribute & it did not disappoint! The song selection was incredible & they could have played all night. It's always wonderful to see a show sell out here. I'm looking forward to the Rolling Stones tribute later this year.

What a great show having the EPSO perform with the Classical Mystery Tour band members. They rocked!

Went to the show not knowing what to expect but had a blast! might hve to go agin next year if they return.

This show far exceeded my expectations! The band sounded and looked just like the Beatles. They engaged the audience and it was such a fun show. The symphony sounded amazing. Fantastic show!!!!

This was an excellent performance. I would definately go and see another performance.

The performance begins with an obscure piece from Giuseppi Verdi (circa 1838) with an even more obscure piece by Manuel Ponce (circa 1910) and then back to Verdi. From a historical aspect, it was nice to hear the work of Manuel Ponce--Mexico's first internationally recognized composer of classical music. The complexity of Ponce's composition is evident but not necessarily overly pleasing. Pianist Maurico Naper's ability to handle the complex piece was also evident. The average rating is strictly based on personal preference. If you are one who enjoys the technical aspect of music--I don't think you would be disappointed. For the average citizen not immersed in classical music---I would not recommend this offering. The venue is wonderful--find a piece that fits your interest.

Verdi's Requiem was an important story well done. I was moved by the beauty of the music and representation of the history.

This was a unique experience. Not only did the audience hear the overwhelming beautiful but also a story associated with a series of performances in Nazi Germany.

Wonderful show!!!!! Would like to see more of these shows brought to El Paso.

This was just a fun-fun-fun performance and a nice collaboration. The lead singer was a fun, joyous guy and he sounded just like Freddie Mercury! The symphony musicians were jammin'. The audience was was having a good time. We look forward to another collaborative performance like this one.

Watching the El Paso Symphony Orchestra honor John Williams' music was one of the most memorable shows. It was fantastic! My 9-year-old enjoyed it, too.

Chloe Trevor played like crazy. Good mashup of Vivaldi and Piazzolla. The orchestra did a great job by themselves in the second half.

The EP Symphony Orchestra Classical Mystery tour-a Tribute to the Beatles was just as fabulous this second time as the first concert a year or two back. So many Beatles songs are with orchestra so you really can't hear a tribute band without a great orchestra. Wonderful evening; great choice of music, got our money's worth.

This is as close as most of us will ever get to experience the Beatles live. They did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend this show to anyone who loves their music.

I loved the show. But - that does not mean there were not things that can be improved. The sound was not very good, distortion, could not hear some of the bands instruments, could not hear the orchestration instruments at times. I'm sure you've been told that before. If you truly read these comments like you say then something should be done about the sound system. While I loved all the songs there were to many times where the orchestra was not playing at all. The musician who was playing George only sang one song. Hear comes the Sun should have been played. The song Something has orchestration in it, it's one of the most popular songs the Beatles ever did, yet: it was not played. Twist and Shout - great song - if you've ever watch Ferris Bueller's day off you know there is a great orchestra arrangement that can be added. In my life is a masterpiece yet no orchestration added. Here comes the Sun should have been played. I've seen this show before and it's always very good. The guys that play the Beatles are top notch. The orchestra is really good. I understand I am just one opinion. Just sayin' Brian Russo

I was not wild about this show. The EPSO was great and the visiting band was amazing. The Prince character was so-so. But it was great to hear Prince's music.

Prince Tribute Band and the El Paso Symphony Orchestra...YES! Of course the REAL Prince would be amazing but alas, this will have to do. Job well done by all! I really enjoyed the performance.

We enjoyed every moment of it! All the concerts with the El Paso symphony orchestra combined with a rock band were great, we are looking forward to the next one. Hopefully soon!

We went my husband and I with our two daughters ages 14 and 10. Wow; this show was incredible. The performer was top notch and EPSO in usual top form. The lighting, the acoustics, the music - all such a treat. A very engaged crowd, lots of fun, people on their feet and dancing. Hope he comes again and more often.

As a die hard fan of Prince, I was curious to see how this concert would end up. I was so pleasantly surprised at how incredible the orchestra sounded and the manner in which they worked hard to honor the memory of Prince! Having the Prince impersonator was an excellent choice, as he was also able to bring the music to life! This was truly such an amazing experience, and I am so glad I was able to be there!

Wasn't sure what to expect as the description was not that forthcoming, but it was the orchestra along with the Purple Xperience band - http://purplexperience.com/. This truly was a marvelous experience - from the music and lights to the costumes and Prince act itself.

The concert was the best! The guest star was unbelievable! Jordan Smith is a true Star! Michael has the voice of an angel. The orchestra was the best I have ever heard! Was a magical evening! Well worth it!

The concert sound was so whole and pleasant to hear. We were on the balcony and we could hear and view the concert with ease. An enjoyable event and the sounds of the EAGLES brought back good memories. Thank you!! I have lived in two other cities and I am so proud to know we have a great symphony compared to other cities which do not even have a symphony. Keep up the good work.

When my wife asked me to take to see the show I was not sure. This was a terrific performance by the tribute band, and the symphony made the show fantastic. I have been to the symphony all season but the performance was much more lively and exiting to listen to. The conductor really got into it and the performance was a delight. The symphony needs more of these types of performance to bring the sound and quality of the symphony to all of El Paso to enjoy. These type of shows might bring larger audiences to regular performances. This was a fantastic show, let' have more

Wonderful, great evenings entertainment. First time in the Plaza Theater, very nice venue. Well organized.

The performance by the EP Symphony Orchestra: Bohuslav Rattay, Conductor & UTEP Choral Union of the 9th Symphony of Beethoven was marvelous. The Plaza Theater Performing Arts Center is not appropriate for these concerts. The acoustic is not right and the seats are too small and very close together making the seating uncomfortable.

This was a great Performance of one of the most iconic symphonies. The voices were powerful.

Absolutely a wonderful production....my 10 yr old daughter went to see her orchestra teacher and loved every minute!

Fantastic! We had so much fun we really enjoyed the show. Everyone worked really hard I wish we could have seen them all after the show. We would go back again.

Started out well, but two of the actors did not even come close to looking like Michael Jackson. Best part was with the Jackson 5 sang as a group.

Michael Firestone was amazing it was like I was actually seeing Michael himself.

This was a good show overall, though it had a few pauses in between songs. That impersonators had good voice, danced well and had a great Jackson wardrobe. The boy that played the young Michael was awesome. Such a powerful voice and great personality. Overall my family and I enjoyed the show.
