Night Ranger

Night Ranger

It all started when five hard-rockin’ kids from the San Francisco Bay Area joined forces in the early 80’s to form Night Ranger. Like no other rock band, Night Ranger both epitomized and transcended the sound and style of that decade. In 1983, Night Ranger earned widespread acclaim with their multi-platinum album Midnight Madness, which included their smash hits "Sister Christian," "When You Close Your Eyes" and the anthemic "(You Can Still) Rock In America.”Night Ranger is proof that powerful songs plus accomplished musicians is the perfect formula for continued success.

Night Ranger always rocks the house and they didn't disappoint. The music was awesome, vocals were spot on and 35 years has proven to age this classic band just right! Night Ranger is a must see band for every rock and roll fan!

Night Ranger was so full of energy it was amazing. After 35 years since they released Dawn Patrol, thought they might have slowed down a little, but no they ROCKED. They still sounded great too. Two thumbs up!

To see Brad Gillis perform his famous solos up close and personal in a tiny venue like Starland Ballroom is more than worth the price of admission. Blade & Kelly's vocals were spot on. The new guitar player, Joel, who replaced Jeff Watson is simply amazing. If given the opportunity to see these dudes rock live, don't miss your chance- they will not disappoint. Bravo!

Night Ranger rocked out the Starland Ballroom, which is a nice, small intimate venue. They played some of their most well known songs such as "Rock in America" "Sister Christian" and "Rumours in the Air". They also played some 'covers' of songs from their stints with other bands (Damn Yankees, Ozzy) and Jack Blades' banter was light-hearted and funny.

The Guys of Nightranger are still touring for a reason. They still enjoy playing and it shows. They gave a steady dose of rocking hits from their hey day as well as mixing in a few covers. They actually played AC/DC's "Highway to Hell". The energy level was high and the show was high octane. Very impressive.

This was a fantastic show! I saw Night Ranger at the Mud Island Amphitheatre in Memphis in 1988, and this show was just as good in terms of the music and enthusiasm with which the band performed. They've still got it after all these years. Wish they could find more commercial success now but glad they're still Rockin' America!

If you loved 'em 25 years ago, you won't be disappointed. They bring an A game that shows a commitment to craft and loyalty to songs that have meant a career and life for young punks from the west coast. I could have paid twice as much for tickets and still gotten my money's worth.

WOW! Let me just say, "You can STILL, ROCK IN AMERICA!" Night Ranger was fabulous!! They played all their hits and even the great songs that never became big radio hits!! The acoustic session rocked! They had plenty of energy! I loved the small venue, we were able to get right up to the stage. My only criticism... Online, the Palladium said the concert started at 8pm. It did not start until a little after 9pm and I had to work out alternate arrangements with my babysitter because she could not stay long enough. The staff at the Palladium knew the show did not start until 9pm. I wish some courtesy would have been given to explain that the doors opened at 8pm but the show did not start until 9pm.

I am almost ashamed to admit this was my first Night Ranger concert at age 41. But it was well worth the wait! I can't believe how good these guys still sounded. The small crowd was a disappointment to me, in that Dallas 40-somethings really missed a great show. But you would never know that the crowd was small by how intensely the band performed.

I just saw Night Ranger tonight at our local county fair in Kennewick, Wa. They rocked the house. I have always loved their music from the 80's. But they are even better in person. They rock out and they are amazing! They play all the best hits and then some fun stuff too! They also play acoustic music that is just amazing as well. Go see them! And you if you see them with Journey, You are so blessed times 2! Highly recommend both concerts. You won't be disappointed

Night Ranger brought the house down at BB Kings! This was my first time seeing this band perform, but it certainly won't be my last! They put on an amazing show which included all their hits, some new material, and even the song "High Ehough" from Jack's other band Damn Yankees...AWESOME!! It was an extra-special treat to see this band at a venue like BB Kings...real up-close and personal. The band was nice enough to come out and meet fans after the show. They spent lotsof time talking, taking pictures and signing autographs, which was the perfect ending to a spectacular night of music in NYC!!

A truly superb show! Night Ranger were at their best - great performance, great sound and a comfortable, intimate setting. For a band known mainly for stadium performances, it was a treat to see them in a smaller, though classy venue. For those that don't know Night Ranger, you will be surprised at how many of the songs you will recognize and love - even if you did not know they were by Night Ranger. Enjoy!

WOW! Just WOW! How the hell does Night Ranger still sound so good (and much like the records) all these years later. Jack Blades sounded like he was 20. While I felt like Kelly Keagy was struggling a tiny bit, he sounded great, and the guitar work was INSANE (even with a replacement guitarist). I'd go again....and again....and again!

Because I'm now 40, I think I was nostalgic for some music from my high school years. I remembered that I loved the song Sister Christian, so I thought I'd see Night Ranger. The guitarists were amazing. The blond (I have no idea his name) was really good. I think he thought he was a displaced Metallica band member at times. The lead singer talked way too much. Overall, it was an okay concert. I wouldn't go again though.

The boys just played exactly like in the 80's. I was very impressed and had an awesome experience that night. Best of all, my wife enjoyed the whole concert with me. The venue also was great but would be best if theres another way to do the rows and sections in order to watch the show better and specifically people on the back. You boys continue to rock in America....

If you ever have the chance to see Night Ranger in concert I highly recommend you do that. They were amazing and still sound just like the albums after 35 years. I absolutely loved the concert!!! My only disappointment was that the security did not keep people from moving up from the back and standing in the aisle or in the way of those of us who planned ahead enough to make sure we were in the front. That is one of the rudest behaviors to demonstrate at concerts. Thankfully is was only a handful.

The venue is small, which is great, but the seats are on flat ground making it hard to see the band at times. The stage needs to be higher for better viewing. The band was great. If I had one complaint, since they do a couple covers, I was hoping for Crazy Train with Brad Gillis on solo. That would have made the show. No encore, which was disappointing.

This show was amazing and lived up to what I was expecting. It was a great night of Rock n Roll. They played all my favorites plus did other songs of different artists for fun and to just have a GREAT time with the audience. Told stories of when they first got together back in the day and played a couple of new songs that were not that bad. My Mom and I had a GREAT evening. It was even better since it was just Night Ranger and NO opening band which I seem to like a lot more as I still love going to concerts!! the Fillmore is an amazing place with tons of history and I recommend this place for any kind of concert.

Both Lita Ford and Night Ranger were amazing. Lita sounded just like she did in the 80s and looked great in her spandex pants. Her drummer did a hell of a good drum solo. Night Ranger really surprised me with the energy they put into their show. Not only did they do their his but they played hard rocking his from Ozzy, Alice Cooper, Dammed Yankees and GNR. These guys are absolutely outstanding. Jack Blades is 63, Kelly Keagy is 65, and Brad Gillis just turned 60 but you'd never know. They are up on stage, having a great time, moving around singing and playing all the songs you love and expect to hear. From the moment they opened with "Somehow Someway" off the new album until they closed with a cover of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" they were amazing. My only complaint would be that they didn't play anything besides "Somehow Someway" from the new album. It's packed with some fantastic songs that I'd love to hear live. Of course, I realize most people are there only to hear the old stuff and don't care about the new. As for me, while I love hearing the old stuff, another song or two from the latest would be great as well.

The show at Clark Co fairgrounds was Ah-mazing! They killed it! They sounded just the same as they always have, they even sang an Ozzy song "Crazy Train"!! The sound was very good too, actually a LOT louder than I thought for it being an outdoor venue. One thing I didnt like was that on-line and the tickets said the show was at the amphitheater, when it was actually a stage set up in the middle of a baseball field. My only other minor complaint would be that it didnt seem like they played very long, would have liked to hear some more songs. Other than that it was an awesome, awesome show!!!!!!

They were amazing. They were my first concert in 1987. I was 14, so there was the nostalgia of seeing then again, but they still have it. Jack Blades and Kelly Keagy still have the voices and the harmonies that always made them the best rock band, for me, in the 1980s. Brad Gillis still rocks out on the guitar. New guy, Joel Hoekstra, rocks out and his resemblance to Sebastian Bach is uncanny. It was a fun night. The only downside was they did not play The Secret of My Success, which is one of my favorite Night Ranger songs. However, they played a plethora of favorites and the night did not disappoint.

"The hardest working guitarist in the business" Joel Hoekstra, got to play to a hometown gig in front of a packed out crowd at BB Kings. Front man Jack Blades, backed up by Kelly Keagy on drums and lead, Brad Gillis on guitar and Eric Levy on keys played a room stomping sing along with amazing energy. Opening riffs of "Lay it on me" brought the crowd to their feet and kept them dancing and singing along the whole night. The inimate setting allowed Jack, Brad, Joel and Kelly to converse throughout the set making you feel like they were playing to a big group of friends. All the favorites were played including "Don't tell me you love me", "when you close your eyes" which closed the set but "rock in america" and audience favorite "sister christian" closed out the encore.(with the audience singing the whole first part requested by NR) Great energy amazing, set list that had a mix of all the guys backgrounds (a little Ozzy, Damn Yankees) which left everyone wanting more!! 1987 has nothing on the new NR Of 2013! great memories then and now!

They put on an unbelievable show!! I would say they had more energy than they did in the 80's, pure passion, they left everything on stage. We really enjoyed the show.

This concert TOTALLY blew me away!!! I was so impressed with how after all these years the guys still could sing and play even better than they did back in the 80's! Their Harmony and Lead Vocals were amazing! The licks on those guitars that Brad and Joel were wailing on were off the charts!! Wow those guys really play well together!!! This is one show i recommend to anyone that loves to Rock! It doesn't get any better than NIGHT RANGER!!! Can't wait to see them again!!!

What a great show! These guys sounded great. They looked like they were having a great time and it showed. We saw Brad and Joel outside after the show and they were more than accommodating in letting us take a picture and talk for a few minutes. Very nice guys.

Great White and Night Ranger really rocked it up in Galveston. I have seen newer bands that don't have any where near as much energy as Night Ranger and they played all of their hits from the 80's. There were a few I wanted to hear but maybe they can play them next time. I would not ever go back to this venue though as they not only ran out of beer but the seating was mixed up. There were people to help but they were very young and again the seating was terrbile, I mean it was chairs and when the band started playing, everyone ran up to the stage so we had to stand to see it all. A very poor venue. At least the bands rocked though!

Although this show was supposed to have been an outdoor event, the fact that two awesome bands were performing made up for it. I really enjoyed the small venue size. It made for a much more exciting experience. Being in the front row, center stage throughout the concert made it especially fun! Easy parking (free), and it is much closer to my home in Galveston County. I despise having to drive all the way up north to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion (and the parking there is absolutely terrible!). Jani Lane (formerly with Warrant) took over the singing duties for a surgery-recovering Jack Russell of Great White. I thought that was pretty cool! It was like two bands in one from the 80s! He did a great job. Night Ranger came on strong and Brad Gillis just smoked on the guitar. The band had a lot of fun playing various songs from other artists, not just their own. They kept the audience involved the entire time.

I grew up in the Bay Area and saw Night Ranger perform several times in the 80's. This was my first time to see them play live in over 20 years and they sounded very similar to how I remember them. All 3 of the original band members have aged very well...Jack still has the same long 80's hair style and boyish grin; Brad is still an excellent guitarist and Kelly's vocals are still rich and strong! Even though there was a small crowd, you could tell they really enjoyed performing their hits and they maintained a high energy level throughout their set.

I always loved Night Ranger in the 80's, and they haven't lost a step. Time has only improved what was already amazing. I knew it would be a good show, after all, the songs are great. What amazed me most was the musicianship. When a band can go from firey rock, to a short classical guitar riff, to an amazing acoustic set...and do it all with amazing accuracy...that is TRUE talent!

Last time I saw these guys was on their first national tour in 1982. I was 13 and my parents dropped me off at a club and picked me up, freaking 36 years ago! They still rock hard and sound awesome. Vocals are very good. I have a new found appreciation for Kelly Keagy's dual role as vocalist and drummer, he has such a beautiful falsetto and did so effortlessly while drumming hard and he's 66. They did all their hits, if it was ever played on radio or they made a video for it it was performed. They are in fine form folks, do not miss if you have the opportunity to see them.

Just saw Night Ranger in Dallas, Georgia. Last saw them in Alameda, California in 1983. The band's set was amazing. Not giving out spoilers, but they play some music from each band the new members were in years ago. Made me and the wife very happy. Vis Per Mare from an old USS Carl Vinson plankowner.

It was good to see the Veteran Night Ranger do what they do best. Flat out Rock, and have fun doing it. The set list was all hits and great covers from Alice Cooper, Ozzy and of course the Damn Yankees. You can't go wrong spending the evening with Night Ranger, it's a great trip down memory lane!

Saw Night Ranger in Phoenix 7/8/2017. Small venue at Talking Stick Resort. No opening act just close to 2 hours of non stop rockin. They were on fire and clearly were having a great time just like everyone in the audience. Everyone was on there feet from the start and did not sit down throughout. Did all of there 80s hits as well as some of their new stuff. Also did a couple of Alice Cooper hits and AC/DC. I am now more of a fan than I was before the show. 10 stars!! See them; you will only be disappointed if you are brain dead.

Night Ranger put on a great show Friday night. Opening with "Touch of Madness," and continuing with songs such as "Four in the Morning and Sing Me Away," the concert was off to a rocking start. I loved the addition of two classic Damn Yankee songs, and even some Ozzy and Alice Cooper. The close of the show was the highlight of the evening with "Don't Tell Me You Love Me, followed by the encore of Sister Christian and You Can Still Rock in America. Overall, thought they sounded great, vocals were strong, back up vocals were superb. The two guitar players were awesome. Would definitely see them again.

Night Ranger played a sold out show at the Rocksino in Cleveland. It started with Touch of Madness and ended with You Can Still Rock in America. In between the crowd was on its feet the entire time. Everything about the show was five stars can't wait to see them again.
