WALK THE MOON

WALK THE MOON

\"Energetic\", “rave-worthy”, and “a magical dance party\" are just some of the ways ticket buyers have described Walk The Moon's rollicking live shows. Whether they're commanding stages in small clubs or huge festivals, the quirky quartet gets fans jumping, clapping, and dancing to crowd favorites like \"Anna Sun\" and \"Tightrope\". Radiating enthusiasm and sporting his signature wild face paint, frontman Nicholas Petricca bounces around the stage as the band blends art rock and dance pop with jangly guitars, poppy synths, and singalong choruses. As one of indie rock's most buzzed-about bands, Walk The Moon leaves fans with unshakeable energy and co.

This was my first time seeing WTM and I saw them two nights in a row. The first night literally left me speechless and I ve never lost my voice at a concert before. It was honestly the best show I ve ever seen an artist put on! The atmosphere was just incredible and the crowd feeds off their endless amounts of energy. 10/10 recommend!

Morning Parade was a high energy band that played lots of great songs. The camaraderie between Morning Parade and Walk the Moon was charming. Walk the Moon played a sold out show with so much fun and just plain awesomeness. They play with all members at the front of the stage, and their songs can't be beat. Best concert I've been to all year.

Amazing! I've seen Walk the Moon before when they played in the Paradise Rock Club supporting the Kaiser Chiefs but I have to say that this time they were amazing! It may have been due to the fact that they were the main act so had more stage time or that most of the crowd were there to see them compared to last time. I don't think they expected to play an encore as they looked genuinely shocked that the crowd wanted more. The fact that they played Anna Sun BEFORE the encore would even suggest that they didn't not expect to go back out on stage. Got to hear 'I can lift a car' this time (they didn't play it last time) and the crowd went crazy. They played some of their new stuff and looked forward to buying a copy of that album as they have some cool retro-like riffs in there. The Liftaway intro was amazing and sent chills down my spine. Amazing band and would definitely see again as they have a very energetic vibe as well as sounding amazing live.

This band is AMAZING live! This was my 3rd time seeing this band in 3 months. They get everyone to dance while enjoying some great upbeat summer music! I brought a few of my friends this time and without them knowing a lot of their music (the album came out yesterday), they also had a blast! Some of my friends waited til last minute to get tix and the show was sold out. Make sure to get these tix early, swing by the merch table to get ur face painted, and don't forget ur dancing shoes! ;) Also, this venue is great for the smaller intimate setting. You feel so connected with the band and the music that it's truly an experience you won't forget.

Walk the Moon is, hands down, the best bands I have ever seen live. This is the second show of theirs I've seen, the first being at NYC's Santos Party House this past March. These guys have so much energy that it's impossible to stand still in the crowd.

Walk the Moon was an amazing concert and they certainly made a mark on me. I only learned about them around Memorial Day when a friend introduced me to their 3 song EP. I was lucky enough to get tickets to the concert and was excited to attend. Little did I know that I would be gaining more than just a night of entertainment but an introduction into amazing. Walk the Moon immediately had the crowd in their hands and they gentle took us through an adventure of sound, sights, and motion. Like veteran puppet masters they pulled the strings of the crowd keeping everyone involved, excited, and entertained. Like greatest artist of old they found wants to incorporate the crowd s voice, dance, and energy into the concert. Their show wasn t a bunch of individuals enjoying music but a community affair where you danced with strangers and sang with new friends. In the end I believe everyone who walked into the show left with a great love of Walk the Moon and an appreciation for what truly amazing music is.

Not only was Walk the Moon truly incredible, but BOTH of their opening bands (Royal Teeth, and Morning Parade) were as well. Everyone put so much energy and heart into the show. Walk the Moon is one of my favorite bands to see live! They put their whole hearts into the show which is great to see.

"Walk the Moon," was the best concert I have been to in years! I brought my friends who had never heard their music and they had a great time too! They had techincal problems in the begining which delayed the start, but they were worth the wait. The band was very energetic, when they danced the audience did too.

I saw these guys two years ago (I forget the venue). They were an opening band and their performance was WAY BETTER than the headliner. They have a great energetic sound and a ton of songs that become instant favorites. Everyone plays their part well, the vocalist has a great, recognizable singing voice and the drummer is full of quick, disco, poppy hits. It's hard to explain, you just gotta see this! I'm glad to see them taking off, I was able to hang out with them for a bit after their show. I drank a beer and shook all of their hands, they were really nice guys. I bought their CD and signed up for their mailing list. I'm now going to see them two years later with their found success and I can't wait!

They were the opening act for Fitz and The Tantrums back in november, and i had never head of this band before, and they were absolutely amazing!!!! The leader singer makes my knees go weak, and they sound AMAZING live!!! Definatly in my top 5 favorite bands! After the show, you could meet them and what I think is really cool, is they wear face paint, and when you met them, they put it on you!!!!

Walk the Moon and their opening band, the Kopecky Family Band, at Headliners in Louisville, Kentucky were both excellent. The Kopecky Family Band was one of those rare opening band presents that introduces you to a great new band. I bought their two EPs at the concert, and I have to say that they are better live than they are on their EPs. Lots of energy and nice harmonies in concert. I hope they go far! Speaking of energy, Walk the Moon fills the room with energy. They were so much fun to watch, and the entire audience was into the show. Also, Walk the Moon sounded great live. I would definitely recommend them. One slight criticism with Walk the Moon, their amps were set too loud. Headliners is a small venue, and, when we all left the concert, everyone complained that their ears were ringing and they had a headache because it was too loud. While it was a great show, Walk the Moon really needed to turn it down a little bit. The Kopecky Family Band had the volume absolutely right!

I'm honestly shocked that this band hasn't been reviewed yet. It's an honor to be the first! I saw this band for the first time for free with my local public radio station, 91.9 wfpk in Louisville, Kentucky. It was supposed to be a huge, outdoor event but our downtown flooded. Graciously, the artists agreed to play a smaller venue, Headliners, and tore the roof off!!! To this day, Walk the Moon at Headliners is my favorite "Waterfront Wednesday"! Walk the Moon is comprised of four very talented and entertaining young men. And I mean YOUNG! Everything about these guys is genuine and authentic. From the band personally painting faces and hanging out in the crowd during the opening acts to the drum circle/jam session during their act showcasing their many talents, this band made the city of Louisville a FAN! The 21 year old inde rock fans to the 80 year old WW regulars, we all jammed out and had a blast together at this show! I've never seen a relatively unknown band provoke so much energy! Walk the Moon clearly loves to play and has as much fun as their fans. True entertainers through and through. Without a second thought I give this band 5 Stars!! So happy for their success!! I can't wait to see them again!!!

Last year around this time Foster the People were just about to blow up thanks to their breakout song "Pumped Up Kicks." This summer might very well be the coming out party for Ohio synth/pop act Walk the Moon thanks in large part to their catchy, addictive single "Anna Sun." Their record release gig Tuesday, 6.19 at Mercury Lounge showcased their confidence and ability. It also had its share of misfires. A 20 plus minute delay to start the show due to technical problems was the first obstacle. Frontman Nicholas Petricca kept things jovial as the time passed on but he, and clearly drummer Sean Waugaman were agitated. Was there not a sound check? On the night of your first big NYC headlining show should this issue have been resolved prior to the agreed upon 11pm set time? This may be nit picking... but some of us aren't kids anymore. An 11pm Tuesday night show for those who work (from out of state) the next day is a rather large commitment. Once the dust settled the quartet played with vigor and enthusiasm promoting their self titled first full length LP. The good news is they are not a one hit wonder. "Quesadilla" is a fun little track. Their second single, "Tightrope" has all the earmarks of an 80s John Hughes montage track... echo... synths... popping drums. Perhaps the best moments came from "Next in Line," a love song/plea rooted in Human League isms. It includes the simple, but effective line "Why don't you stay shotgun til the day I die?" This are bands doing this act a little better and with more polish. The aforementioned Foster the People, Cut/Copy and M83 come to mind. But for a group just starting out it is easy to see them playing bigger venues their next trip through Manhattan. Petricca has a great voice and confident (maybe too confident) stage presence. His band mates are ok, but can temper the theatrics a bit. No one wants to see the bassist jumping around and knocking over the drum set. They may have announced themselves as a rock outfit, but this is pop gentlemen... leave the thrashing around to Axl Rose and the like. And lose the scoop neck striped American Apparel shirts too. That look does not speak to rock and roll. Perhaps the image issues, technical difficulties and higher than normal expectations led to our early dismissal? Perhaps it was the late hour? Whatever the case may be the grade is good, not epic. Could very well the bar is set very high these days. And that is a very good thing. Let the Summer 2012 concert season begin!

Walk the Moon at the Orpheum in Madison was incredible!!!! For my Son's birthday I took him here, it was his first concert ever, and both of us were blown away by Walk The Moons performance! The energy and entertainment they bring is absolutely amazing. Nick Petricca along with the band, gave their all in this performance. I was in awe by how beautiful they sound live -Seriously, they are way better live than on the album itself, which is also very amazing on it's own - so I was beyond impressed. I wasn't the only one with a Child at the concert. And as an FYI to those who are curious - Walk The Moon's concerts are very family friendly. The Orpheum is very good venue, worth seeing concerts here. We are hoping to see Walk The Moon again in Ohio in June!

Walk The Moon is a great band with a VERY engaging lead singer, a guitarist who shreds and actually plays extended leads, exceptional drummer and bass player who is the perfect foil to Nicholas while laying down a beat that brings it all together. Also, whoever mixed the sound and created the light show/special effects deserves a raise - perfection! The sum of the whole is like lightning in a bottle - once uncorked it strikes with power and force. Opener Company of Thieves way outperformed expectations. The crowd arrived early to pack the sold out venue to near capacity to hear a very powerful and emotive lead singer in Genevieve Schatz and perfectly nuanced lead guitarist Marc Walloch. Bass and drums were solid and songs were very catchy. Bought the cd and vinyl and do yourself a favor - INVEST. Walk The Moon is as classy as they are entertaining, and that says a lot. To take a break for the right reason and come back with their strongest effort and one of the best albums of the past year in any genre shows the mark of a band firing on all cylinders. San Diego crowds are notorious for a more laid back response but the place was definitely rocking on a Thursday night. Perfectly paced for an hour and 45 minutes, mature, danceable rock and roll with some pseudo-metal thrown in made for a very satisfying experience (the nod to Zep was perfect). Anybody who thinks that rock and roll is dead needs to Shut Up And...yeah, see WTM any and every chance you get. Thank you for coming to San Diego and know that the time you all sacrificed to give your musical brother the chance to make the exact right decision can never be regretted. May every facet of success be yours ad infinitum... End Note: The venue deserves 5 Stars as well - aptly named Princess greets with a smile, the security folks are professional in every way, tasty food and awesome drinks in the upstairs bar made by the most beautiful and hardest working bartender in the Gaslamp always makes the experience as good as it can possibly be! Our heartfelt appreciation always...

Could never recommend Walk the Moon enough! They know how to put on a show and it's always a great time! I love when artists give some background on the songs, but they just play play play and you really feel like you've heard their whole catalog! And it's not a WTM show without the lights component! It totally adds to the aesthetic of the night and doesn't overpower the music either. I've seen them twice now at the Palladium and it's just the best venue for a group like them! We love standing up in the back on the raised area near the soundboard and we can always see the stage but don't feel like we're soooo far away. And If you want to be down in the sweaty crowd, you can! LOVE LOVE LOVE WALK THE MOON. Will always see them when they come to Los Angeles.

The concert was 5 stars but unfortunately the venue is starting to get a lower rating due to the wait time to get in. They've been double booking (which I get for revenue) but that makes for super long wait times (in the cold) to get checked in when they start at the same time. The room is great for a concert though and I took my 7 and 9 year old to their first concert! It was a night to remember and we loved making the memories

I bought tickets for this concert because I wanted to go to a concert for my birthday weekend and this concert was on the perfect date and I had friends were fans so I thought this would be fun. I only knew the song, 'Shut Up and Dance', from the radio and I actually just heard that song over the summer (i know I'm super late), so I looked up reviews and setlists so I can be familiar with their songs before the show. I started listening to them and became a fan! THE SHOW TURNED OUT TO BE SO MUCH FUN! I had plenty of time to be familiar with their songs and know lyrics to my favorites so that worked out great! WTM had so much energy and they were just so much fun! They're songs are already fun to sing and dance to, but when you're at the concert it's a thousand times more fun singing and dancing with the band live! This has to be one of the most fun concerts i've ever been to! It was also cool because they said that was the first time they have ever played their whole sophomore album from beginning to end! So that was cool! Then they came back out for an encore and played their old songs:) It was also cool that they had a free Photo Booth outside the venue. Their opening act was a little bit weird and they played for about an hour and then walk the moon played for about 2.5 hours!

I don't even know where to start. Okay, for one thing, this band has the most positive, energetic, encouraging members, and that's a big part of why their show was as good as it was. A lot of their music seems to be inspired by Ohio, the state they grew up in, which meant so much to me personally because I'm also from Cincinnati. (Anna Sun is so specific to childhood in Cincinnati that I cried during it.) It sounds weird to say this, but I don't think I've connected with anyone quite the same way as I did with them last Saturday. And of course, their song performance is dead-on--some of the songs (Different Colors, especially) are even better live than they are on the album! I dare you to find a band that nails the harmonies every time like they do.

The music selection was great. The show was great. The sound was great. The atmosphere was great. Despite the unfortunate weather, this concert blew my mind and I wish I could tell the band members that myself. Walk The Moon's sound is identical live and in the studio. The music they release sounds exactly like how they sing live, which is phenomenal. They have so much fun on stage and put on such a mind blowing prefomance, I wish I could go back and relive the concert again and again and again. There aren't enough words in the world to communicate how much I loved everything about that concert.

This was by far my best concert experience to date. The venue was great, though maybe a little small, and I had an absolutely amazing time. Walk the Moon puts on such a great show!

Walk the Moon and the Griswolds put on an amazing show! Both bands had awesome energy and Up 2 U by Walk the Moon is something that has to be experienced live. As soon as that song started everyone was going crazy! Being VIP was the best! Me and my friends got there early enough that we were front row (the best place to be at any concert)! An experience that can't be missed!

Great show at a small venue. Not too large, so you get a better show and the crowd doesn't ruin it. Walk the Moon knows how to perform!

This was my second time attending a Walk the Moon show. I saw them this past summer at the Key Club. Let me tell you that they just keep getting better and better. The band sounds amazing live. My friend and I kept saying the whole ride home from the concert how they sound even better live than the actual album. The band has really great energy and the music sounds amazing. They had everyone in the crowd dancing and singing along. I love being a Walk the Moon fan because its a fun excuse to paint each others faces. Its hard to think of anything else to say besides one of the best concerts I've ever been to, and trust me I've been to a lot. If you don't have they album get it! And then go buy a ticket to their show. You will not regret it.

The show was amazing. Walk the Moon were awesome. Family of the Year were awesome. The energy was awesome. The crowd was awesome. The venue was awesome. The music was awesome. Even waiting outside in the cold and rain was awesome because we were so excited and surrounded by other fans who felt the same. Would definitely go see the show a hundred times again. Worth every penny!!

Having heard only their catchy "Shut Up and Dance" track, I attended this concert expecting to see/hear some kids do a few good songs to dance to. WRONG! This was a great show, showcasing the vocal talents of Nick (front man,) Kevin (bass) and Eli (lead guitar) and skilled drummer, Sean, putting on a great show. Very animated, the guys are all over the stage, putting their hearts and souls into their performance. Nick has quite a range - and can hold a strong falsetto then launch into a Talking Heads cover - no problem. They played for an hour and a half - I couldn't name the all the song titles, but they were all great. We felt very fortunate to have been able to see them when we heard of Nick's father being ill and the band cancelling the rest of their tour after these here in SoCal.

An incredible show! From start to finish they had the whole crowd on their feet and dancing. The set was perfect, and it's so rare for an artist to sound better live, but Walk the Moon nailed every song. I can't wait to see them again for their next tour. Highly recommend the show, it was worth every penny and then some. One of the better concerts I've ever been to!

I saw Walk the Moon for the first time in spring of 2012, playing at Big Guava Music Fest. The Ohio based group had an afternoon slot on the second smallest stage. I caught most of their set, along with 500-600 other people. I remember enjoying the set, but not to the point where it received praise in my top 10 power rankings from the weekend. Fast forward to less than one year later and Walk the Moon is one of the most demanded bands in the country. They announced a spring tour back in November and sold out the dates in almost every city. This included their St. Pete stop at State Theatre last month. Luckily I bought my $28 ticket before I saw resale prices rise to the triple digits. So what changed - well the group released their sophomore album - Talking is Hard, which is full of pop-rock tunes that get everyone dancing and signing along. It's one of those albums where you can't just listen quietly. It's lead single 'Shut Up and Dance' is a prime example of the albums energy, and the driving force behind the new fan hood and demand for the live shows. The energy of Talking is Hard translated well to the live stage at State Theatre. Album opener 'Different Colours' also opened their performance, showing early that Talking is Hard would be well displayed on the evening. In total, the band played 9 tunes from the new album. They also mixed in 6 from their self titled debut. Lead singer Nicholas Petricca sounded great throughout the night. Some of the new tunes challenge his vocal abilities, but in doing so, show them off nicely. Moments like the a capella opening to 'Down in the Dumps,' ferocious ending to 'Spend Your Money On' and sing a long chorus to 'Avalanche' display his ability to take over the room with his vocals, reminiscent of Brandon Flowers. Speaking of the Killers frontman, Petricca gave a powerful performance of cover 'All These Things That I've Done' as the groups encore. This was a true highlight of the night. It led into the final song of the night with the bands first single 'Anna Sun.' I was very pleased and impressed with the setlist put together by Walk the Moon. They clearly have many new fans, and they satisfied those by playing their new album in full, including ending with their monster hit. They also played tribute to their existing fans though. The group sounded just as good playing the older tunes, and it makes you wonder why they didn't have this type of popularity earlier. Overall, the energy of this band made for one of the best shows of the year. I never found myself standing still. And I must say it was quite special to see them play the State Theatre, at a capacity of less than 800. Something tells me next time Walk the Moon is in the Tampa area, it'll be a much larger venue.

Overall it was a good show. Some disappointments, first being that the bands didn't play equally. You could tell most of the crowd was there for Pentatonix, but seemed they were one of the groups that played the least.

A concert titled "Jingle Jams" should have almost all Christmas music, and this concert had only two Christmas songs out of the entire night. There were too many artists, and too long of set-up times between artists.

I thought "Jingle Jam" meant it would be a performance of the artists' Christmas songs. The user between sections 200 and 201 told us to sit in the wrong seats. The time between performances was too long - they should have been on stage longer as they did not need the whole time to reset the stage. I liked all the singers except Walk the Moon. We left after the "initiation" part of their concert. All I wanted to hear was Shut Up and Dance With Me. Their performance kept getting more and more weird and I have no idea how Shut Up and Dance With Me fits into their repertoire. We drove over an hour and were overall disappointed with the show.

It was a great night! Got to meet and see perform Tori Kelly & Pentatonix for the second time and they were amazing. Saw some performers for the first time that were also good. WALK THE MOON left me speechless with their energy. However, I did not like how the M&G was happening at the same time some artist were performing.

Really good concert, was my daughters 1ST ever concert. Only complaint, on a school night and lasted way too long. Probably would not of bought tickets had I known it was going to be that late. Last group was too "heavy metal" for young kids. Also thought Becky G should of sang more.

I bought tickets for Jingle Jam because my 14y.o. daughter was dying to see Walk the Moon. I took her and 2 friends thinking I was going to be old mom waiting for the end. Oh man was I wrong! The venue was great, our seats were excellent, and every performer from beginning to end was incredible! I went out the next day and bought 3 of the 6 performers cd's! I am already cruising ticketmaster.com for Pentatonix tickets for next year! Go see it, you'll have a great time,no matter how old you are!
