Richard Marx is a true professional. He plays the songs you want to hear (although he has many great songs that didn't get airplay). His voice still sounds amazing. You won't be dissapointed.

I was so excited to get to see Richard Marx again. I had seen him live when he was touring in support of his very first album. This show was so much better!! First of all, I was very impressed with the Venue. The VIP floor seats were terrific and I got them at a very reasonable price. I loved the setup, and how close our seats were to the stage, and the intimate quality of the setting. Next, the crowd was so attentive. Everyone there was interested only in the music and most of the time the only sound was what was coming from the stage! Every note was so clear and fine. There were no juvenile displays from someone more interested in hearing their own screams than the music from the performers! This must have been nice for the performers, because they stopped the show at least three times to say that very thing and to thank the audience for their attention. Richard introduced Matt as "my best friend" and that was very apparent from the amount of teasing they did between songs. They did an album together in 2008, "Duo" and I am very anxious to find a copy of it. So, they sang some songs they had written together, some of Richard's many hits, and some of the songs Matt wrote as lead singer for his band, "Vertical Horizon". I was not familiar with Matt's songs, but I loved them all the same. He has a very good voice, is astounding on the guitar, and has written some awesome songs. Their voices harmonize so well, and the sound of the two acoustic guitars was the best I've ever heard live! I have every CD that Richard has ever made, except "Duo". I have immersed myself in his work for the past week, leading up to the concert, and to keep the feeling going since. His studio work has a good solid drumbeat to almost every song. I thought I would miss that and the presence of more band members, but I was very wrong! Those two guitars were perfection itself! "Hold On To The Nights" had to have a keyboard, the piano work defines the song. He used the keyboard once or twice more, but the rest of the time, the guitars filled in every note! They made them play notes I didn't know could come from a guitar!!

I didn't know Matt, but I'm a huge Richard Marx fan, so when I saw the notice about the concert, I jumped on it! I loved the setting at the Glass Cactus...very intimate. The sound was excellent, the guys were just great....wonderful voices and very entertaining playing off each other. Only thing is I would have loved to have heard more Richard! Matt is very talented, however, and I really did enjoy his music as well. Their collaboration on the new piece was also really, really good.

This was by far one of the best concerts I have seen in my lifetime (and that's a lot of competition). Beautiful, true vocals and excellent instrument skills. The harmony of these two friends is just perfect and the close relationship they have and the mutual respect for each other's talent just tops off the performance. The venue was fabulous! I will be watching for other events at the Glass Cactus!

We enjoyed this performance immensely. A very intimate relationship with the audience was provided in the setting of this smaller venue, the Glass Cactus Nightclub in Grapevine, Texas. Two multi-talented singer/songwriters, two guitars and one keyboard set the stage for a perfect evening. You were in witness of the special friendship Richard and Matt have on a personal level as well as their talents, individually and combined, in songwriting and singing. Their interaction with each other on the stage just added to the performance. The collaboration with Vertical Horizon's Matt Scannell is a winning combination. Their voices compliment one another on the duets and do not disappoint when performing the songs we all know them for.

Richard Marx put on a great show. He still looks and sounds great. He sang all of his hits - the best songs, for my taste, were the songs sung playing his acoustic guitar (less band and more vocals). His vocals are still great. Great show all round, and we really enjoyed his sense of humour.

We saw him live at the Bow theatre but only bought the tickets after seeing him at the River Rock in Richmod, BC Canada the month before. The Canada show was so amazing that we had to go again. Not only is his voice still crystal clear but he can still hit the high notes. He is truly an engaging individual. He chats with the crowd, tells interesting and funny stories. He is a fantastic lyrisist. I particuarly enjoyed that he played/sang the song he wrote with Keith Urban (Better Life). Not many people realize the Keith Urban connection. I love Keith Urban also so Richard doing that song just made the night that much more special. The other great thing is unlike a of other artists from the 80s he obviously lead a good life and kept his looks as a resutl. He's still a doll. If you even like his music a little bit, you would find it worth your time and money to give him a try :) He is worth every penny and I will definitely go see him again.

We had a fantastic time, have loved Richard Marx since I met my husband he was singing Now & Forever at Kareoke night when I first met him and I have loved Richard Marx ever since always play his cd and it reminds me of when we first got together sitting on the deck overlooking the water and just getting lost in the music so it was a terriffic time for us to hear him live and remember the good times past.

I went and saw Richard Marx in Bow Washington at the Skagit Valley Casino, Had no idea how intimate this concert was. For the first time I got a front row seat and could not take the permanant grin off my face. He still has it. The looks, the charm and most of all the amazing talent. I saw him years ago at the Puyallup fair. Had to drag my hubby to the concert. At the end of the concert he told me how much he thought Richard had talent. Hubby being a musician himself and onesided type of music that was a total compliment from the soul. Any ways if my exhubby could see Richard now he would say he is awesome and even better yet. I did like that fact that he communicated to the audience and it just felt way more that just a performance. It was down right the best show I have ever been to. The music you write and the voice you have will always stay with me forever. I will always come and see you Richard when you pass this way in the beautiful state of Washington. Thanks for coming back into my life with your music

It has been a LONG time since Richard Marx has toured. We last saw him in about ten years ago. He is just as personable and down-to-earth as ever, while still being a bit of a "bad boy." This show was a good mix of his older material and some more-recent efforts. The showroom at the Skagit is a smaller venue, but the acoustics were acceptable, even at the edges of the room. Now that his sons are getting closer to full-grown, maybe he will tour more often?

It was great to see Richard Marx in concert again after so many years! He put on an energetic show and had a great mix of his 1980's favs and his newer stuff. He looks and sounds better than ever! Who knew he was so funny?? I wish Richard was more social with his fans. It was a small venue (~400 people) and it would have been fun to get an autograph or have a chance to talk to him. We saw him in the elevator with his manager at the hotel but he wasn't in a mood to talk. Too bad - it would have been a dream come true! Otherwise, a great show and I would go again next time he comes to town. Hopefully it won't be 20 years from now...

I have been disappointed when going to see my favorite artists from the '80's and '90's as many of the lead singers have lost their voices. This is not the case with Richard Marx! He was every bit as good as when I saw him during the height of his popularity. He has lost nothing in his performance, and the intimate setting of the Skagit Valley Casino really made me feel a part of the show. I would, and have, absolutely recommend seeing Richard live. I would do it again in a heart beat.

This guy is a consummate musician and a great personality combined. Terrific song set... a couple of his new songs with many, many of his hits. Just a pleasure to sit back and enjoy. His voice hasn't lost any of its quality. He engaged the audience all throughout the evening. Felt like he was singing for a few friends. Made standing under umbrellas in the rain for 40 minutes then an hour wait inside (doors opened in advance) totally worth the wait.

This was my 10th time seeing Richard Marx. I brought 6 family members with me who knew who Richard Marx was and liked his music but only one of them had ever been to his show. I knew what to expect already, but my family couldn't stop talking about how great he was. He is truly a pure entertainer. His voice is amazing, and he is funny and engaging with his audience. It is obvious that he loves what he does and wants to share it with people. My family loved that he took the time to talk to us while he was on stage. He has made six new fans for life and made one existing one love him even more!!!

Not only was Richard entertaining with his music he was so funny and interactive with the audience. He accomplished his goal of wanting to make the evening feel like you were hanging out with him. I am a long time fan and have every CD he has ever made - including My Own Best Enemy :) - the only artist I can say that about! It was such a great way to spend an evening. I actually had the pleasure of meeting Steve Hornbeak on the escalator after the concert. I thought I was talking to my friend stating how great the concert was so you can imagine my shock when I turned and saw him behind me instead of my friend! He kept the conversation going and was very nice. I will definitely go any time he is close to Detroit. I know my friends would agree this was so much fun we will be at the next one!! There was the perfect combination of music and storytelling at this Richard Marx concert. As a long-time fan of Marx, I loved hearing stories about his songs and his experiences told by him in a very charming way. It was also really cool that Richard performed a couple of chart toppers he had written or co-written for other artists; clearly showcasing his songwriting genius. Richard s arrangements for the 20-piece string section that accompanied him live were both beautiful and impressive. It was really special to hear some of my favorite songs done in this way. And the new songs performed were the icing on the cake and proved that the hits keep coming from Richard Marx.

I went to the show in Ocean City Maryland (Springfest). It was a very relaxing enjoyable concert. He was very personable to the audience and I simply loved the fact that he told stories about how the song came about. I knew he was an excellent songwriter and it was nice to hear him sing some of the songs that he did write for other artists. Very witty and I didn't think that I would like that it was with an orchestra but they did not play through some of the songs like if you were at a smyphony so that was good. Richard still has a great voice and I would definitely see the concert again.

I've seen Richard Marx with his band in '90, his Duo shows with Matt Scanell in '08, '09, and '10, and with a string orchestra in '11. Richard never disappoints, his voice sounds even better in person than it does on CD. He has a great stage presence and sense of humor, cracking jokes and telling great stories about his songs and experiences. He wrote string arrangements to accompany his songs for this recent show, and the orchestra he played with was terrific. I have driven over four hours to each of the last four shows I've seen, and it has definitely been worth it every time. I've actually been fortunate enough to have met him the last four times I've gone to see him, he couldn't have been nicer and was generous enough to take the time to sign autographs, take pics, gave me a guitar pick, and answered questions. When he sarcastically said "I'm awesome", with a laugh during this recent show, he was absolutely correct.

Richard Marx is an amazing entertainer and singer. He sang an even mix of old and new songs. He's not one of those singers that just goes into one song after another, he actually interacts with the crowd. He's very funny. The theater was small and had an intimate feeling. This was an excellent show. You can always count on Richard Marx to put on a great show and sing all the songs you came to hear. There's so much thought put into every song arrangement. He sings all his hits plus a couple new ones...but doesn't over do it on the new ones (which is too bad, cause some of us really really enjoy the new music!). The crowd was pretty good...not a great place to stand and have a party as Club Regent is all tables right against the stage. He got along well with the crowd and his personality shined through his humor and his song. The sound at Regent Club in Winnipeg is horrible. you don't get the full arrangement of the songs nor can you really clearly hear the artist....which was a downfall I can't say enough how great the show was....and he always gives more than 100%!

As a lifelong fan of Richard Marx, I was really excited to see what kind of show he put together for his residency at Flamingo Las Vegas. He has countless amazing songs, and the show definitely highlighting ALL the great ones, interspersed with some surprises - for instance, one night his 3 sons joined him on stage to sing which was a real treat. On top of being phenomenally entertaining from a talent perspective, the guy is absolutely hilarious and also has really genial interactions with his audience, who tend to shout various things out to him during the show. He always makes time for an answer or something funny to retort. Our front row tickets also included a meet and greet with Richard, who was really kind, down to earth and wonderful to chat with and he posed for photos AND signed autographs. I haven't seen any other event in years that I can think of where I got more bang for my buck and better lifelong memories. We are hoping he returns for more performances - we ended up going 4 times during his 3 week run, he was THAT worth it.

I had the very first seat in the whole place right next to Richard Marx. He sounded exactly like he did 30 years ago. He was funny, sang all the favorites and I will never forget this memory as long as I live. He was my teen heart throb and I went to all of his concerts, but never had the chance to shake his hand or meet him. Well this time I did, before leaving the stage, He shook my hand! Then after the concert at the meet and greet he signed my program book from 1988...

This was an amazing show. It was surreal seeing him live. The show was funny, good music and the crowd was moderately behaved minus the woman lusting after his sons lol. I want to see him live in concert full band. I even got to go meet and greet with him after the show. He was super nice. I was literally front row cent the number 1 seat I was close enough to touch his shoes I was trying not to freak out the whole time. I almost want to go see the show again before he leaves as last time I was late due to weather. My only complaint is I wish the show was longer and I wish that it wouldn't have started on time to give stragglers like myself time to get there.

Loved every minute of his show -- although I have all of his albums and could do a deep dive into the non-hit songs, there are no obscure songs in this show, and lord knows Richard Marx had enough hits to produce a longer show than this was. Not his fault -- Vegas shows tend to be 90 minutes or less.

Great show , very intimate setting . Richard Marx is a class act , and very talented . His story telling , and engaging with audience makes him one of my favorite musician/entertainers. He told of his full career pretty much from beginning to end , with great stories of his interactions with other artists , and the writing of his great songs. If I could stick around the Vegas area longer , I would go see him again . And I hope to another one of his show again soon .

I brought 6 girlfriends with me to see the first concert kicking off Richard Marx's Vegas run. None of them were huge fans going into the concert as they could only remember "Right Here Waiting." I assured them they would know every song & I was Right! They all left huge fans! He is funny, relatable and most importantly, sounds like a million freaking bucks!

Great show. He sang all the best songs. The best moment was when he unplugged and sang without a mic Angelia. It was a beautiful moment. Dance with my father brought me to tears.

Richard is an incredible talent with A+ looks, singing voice, songwriting ability, and piano and guitar playing ability. But he came across as a major narcissist throughout the entire show and during what I refer to as the "Meet with No Greet." He had four beautiful women in red gowns playing strings, who were quite amazing. He recognized them only once during the performance and only by their first names. There were three huge screens in the theater, including one directly behind the stage. The screens picked up close-ups of him and none of the girls. He frequently looked up to see himself on the screens. He made a feeble attempt at connecting with the audience. Even when he thanked people for coming to the show it was a simple thank you all for coming and I hope you bring your friends next time. It was totally self-serving. There was no sense of humility or graciousness about him at all. There was a wide set of steps at the foot of the stage and he did not take advantage of that to step down and greet anyone in the audience the way most performers do. At the beginning of many of the songs, a picture of the album from which the song came from flashed up on the screen and he commented about the way he looked in the photo. I noticed that every album cover was a close-up picture of him alone. Most glaring of all was the fact there were no other bandmembers behind him, aside from the strings players. His music screamed for some drums and bass playing behind him and I had the impression that he wanted centerstage and all the focus to be on him as opposed to anyone else, no less other men. The meet With no greet was a totally disorganized event. He took forever to come out and when he did, there was no greeting for the group who was standing there waiting for him. He took rushed photos and did not make any attempt to converse with us at all. One of the women running the meet and greet warned us to keep our personal space during the photo shoot, which I'm sure came from him. He barely shook our hands and did not smile for the photo. Once we got out side of the meet with no greet room, we waited again for our photos to come out and after paying $240 per ticket, we were charged another $40 for the photo with no smile. It was a truly disappointing and almost disturbing performance, that could have been something really fantastic. My fiancé and I were commenting that he could have been the next Barry Manilow, but I'm not sure he has what it takes.

The show opened with his very talented son Lucas and it got only better from there. Richard Marx is very engaging and personable. He's also very funny and kept up a running dialog with the audience, sharing personal and professional stories, some very humorous. All the while rewarding us with his amazing voice, singing his hits, with only a couple of newer songs. Altogether a very enjoyable evening.

Wonderfully entertaining evening. Played all of his hits; wished he had played Whatever We Started or Beautiful Goodbye (both are excellent songs). He was very engaged with the audience. Richard's humor was a very unexpected benefit. Lots of story-telling between some of the songs (wish there was story-telling for every song). Surprised by the amount of bad language; didn't think all of it was necessary. But overall, a fantastic evening of some of the best songs ever written and sung by the artist himself!

Marx was GREAT despite the sound tech problems caused by Chastain that screwed up Marx first song Endless Summer Nights which Marx had to redo after his 2nd song. Oddly Chastain had no tech problems with the 1 hour set of the LRB Wannabees (no original Little River Band members) Chastain cut Marx off at 11pm during Should've Known Better and did not let Marx do his song Right Here Waiting.

We loved the little little river band and thought they should have been the ones to close the show. Richard Marx was a crude mouthed egomaniac. They had to cut his microphone at the end of the night. You could tell he was not happy however he spent most of the time talking about himself and all of his accomplishments. It was annoying. If only he had just played his music. It would've been much better.

The concert was an acoustic set with just guitar and a couple of songs on piano (and one other, "Turn Off the Night" which had pre-recorded background music and his live vocals). Usually, I'm not crazy about purely striped down sets, but this concert was awesome. It was in the Victoria Theater which is a small venue. The result was an intimate set with a lot of back-and-forth between Richard Marx and the audience. He did all his hits with a couple of others from later albums and a couple that he wrote for other artists. The result was a great musical show with a very outgoing performer. Also, after the theater announcement of "no flash photography", Richard Marx announced "Take all the pictures you want. And upload video, too").

Richard Marx performed a great concert at the Victoria Theater in the NJ Performing Arts Center, on Thursday evening April 28th, 2016. The Victoria Theater is a really intimate venue seating only about 500 people, which made you feel like it was a private showing. This was a solo acoustic concert and his voice is still very clear and strong. He sang all his big hits as well as a number of his great songs from various albums. The acoustics in the Theater is nearly perfect. I sat in the center orchestra row 8. He shared facts about his song writing career for other artists, that included Josh Groban, Luther Vandross, Keith Urban among others. It was well worth the very reasonable price of admission. A fabulous concert!

Not many people can pull off a concert with no band. We just had Richard, his two guitars, a piano, and his amazing voice! His voice is as great as it is on his CDs and he was hilarious. The venue was very intimate and had great acoustics.

This is my 3rd Richard Marx Concert! He is so personable, and has conversation with the audience through the whole show. I have never been to a better concert. This concert was an unplugged, sing along that was so much fun. He is so entertaining, and most people are not aware that he writes all his own music. He writes for a lot of others too. Luther Van Dross and Keith Urban to name a few. The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is an amazing venue. Friendly Curtis Staff, and great sound and view. Comfortable seating Worth every penny everytime!

Mr Marx kept saying , "Let's step inside the time machine", and boy did we..... He sang and played his guitar and piano so PERFECTLY as if it was 30 year ago.... I thought I was going to feel let down because he didn't have his band backing him up... WRONG... I was mesmerized.... Also this musical genius also confessed to us all that he was still a little drunk as he came to us from a belated Wedding Reception for him and his Beautiful wife Daisy.... Did that help him??? I know it sure didn't hurt him... He was Superb.. I would go see him again in a heartbeat and I STRONGLY recommend anyone who can see him, DO IT!! He was the BEST MUSICAL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.. The only thing I was bummed about it went too fast... He set was only for an hour and a half... He NEEDS to be played on Radio on all the stations, Not just nostalgic radio.. He is in his PRIME NOW!!!

I've never had the chance to see him in concert before. Wow! He sounds just as good as he did in the 1980s. He played all the songs I wanted to hear plus more! He was charming and very interactive with the audience. As my sister said when the show ended "that was the fastest hour and a half concert ever! It felt like only half an hour!" I could have sat and listened to him for two more hours. :)

My daughter and I attended this concert and really enjoyed it. Richard Marx did a one man show with no back up band. He sang for almost 2 hours, entertaining attendees with stories about the experiences he has had over his career, while singing the hits we all remember. He really showed how great a musician he is as well as a singer and song writer. In addition to his hits, he also sang some songs from his most recent album, which are really addictive to listen to.

This was my first time seeing Richard Marx, and he didn't disappoint. I'm a rock fan, and his new album (Beautiful Goodbye) is a favorite of mine so I was excited to hear three songs from it during the show. Sure, he played all his well-known hits, and he joked about that. He's very funny and I love that he's one of those performers that actually talks to the audience during the show. It just makes it more personal. He also included some of the songs he's written for other artists. His voice was in top shape, and he and his band sounded great. Definitely a show worth checking out.

This was a solo acoustic show. Just Richard Marx, his guitar, & a bit of piano. He sang all his biggest hits. He quipped "because I go to concerts too!" He sang a fabulous new song Turn Off the Night. His snarky, sarcastic personality shown through & won the crowd. Everyone seemed glad to be there & appreciative of the full two hour set. The show was electric. Marx's voice is great. He was pitch perfect all night. He even played some song he wrote with, & wrote for, other singers.

I had always loved his music and I know he's written great songs for other artists but I never knew what a GREAT entertainer Richard Marx is! From the first moment, he really captivated the audience. He sounded amazing and he was so funny! A lot of audience participation, it felt like a party for close friends!

Loved the concert Richard Marx was awesome loved the family side of him and enjoyed him talking about his past and how he came up with songs. The sound guy sucked though he obliviously never worked with the band because he didn't turn up the lead guitar when needed the vocals from Richard Marx was very mid range and never had any bass in system. Very disappointed in the sound.

Richard Marx is still as captivating as ever! Love that his brother and his son are in his band...seems like a real family guy, good person, talented!, and loved by all! He sounds as good as ever-would have LOVED the opportunity to go to his concert thirty years ago, but would see him again for sure! Venue is new and clean, nice people, just nothing special about the auditorium.

Richard Marx is incredible. I had wanted to see him for a long time. I had the pleasure of seeing his acoustic show in January and then this one with his band a few weeks later. Both were incredible and completely different. The acoustic show was more intimate and this one rocked. I will definitely make plans to see him again. His voice sounds just like his records and he puts on a great show. He is very funny too. He is an incredible songwriter, musician and performer. Loved this show!
