Brand X

Good show had front rower seats. Project/Object was too short.

Both bands played exceptionally well. The sound at the TLA in the first 10 rows was horrible. Too loud and distorted was the general consensus. Most of us moved to the rear and stood to watch the show where it sounded much better.

The band gets 5 stars, the venue gets 2 at best. Brand X is simply the finest progressive jazz/rock band in the world. John Goodsall and Percy Jones have put together a combo more than worthy of the Brand X moniker. They deliver a stunning set filled with wonder and joy. Great keyboardist and two exceptional percussionists covering the best of the Brand X catalog. There's just not enough time in a two hour show to cover all the great music Brand X has done over the last 40 years. As for the venue, the seats are great if you buy dinner but the dinner is overpriced for what it is. My steak was OK but certainly not worth $28.00. And the 20% automatically added gratuity plus being expected to further tip the waiter (who closed out as early as 8 o'clock so you couldn't really get desert (or even another drink without going to the bar) is just plain abusive.

Long time listener first time in the audience (I've been listening since the early 80s) ... I was not at all disappointed (and I had a lot of expectations too). They were great! I expected that out of Percy & John but the new band members are all really top notch players as well, and could play all those old Brand X songs to perfection. The Jane Getter Premonition was really good too though they felt to me more like a progressive rock thing than the Jazz Fusion that I typically go for.

Hey it was effing great. John & Percy played even faster than on the albums The three other players, drums, percussion & keyboards had the chops to play as Brand-X. I could even go in for a studio future album featuring this line up. The opening act was okay. Of course you wan them out of the way fast. But they were entertaining enough to please the crowd. After the show there was a line where Brand-X signed autographs, bu it's not my thing. The Birchmere is just the right size for an intimate experience.

Loved the show. Sound was good. All around great experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed this very current throwback experience. The music flowed and evolved throughout the evening. This is a high energy performance for an invigorating experience.

Great to finally see them. In fine spirits and well played. Only reason 4 stars is the compositions themselves show their age in their lack of deeper craft (compared, say, to Al Di Meola's compositions), but still lots of fun

These guys created some of the most awesome fusion music of our lifetime!!! They play it now, vigorously, and are having fun. We should all be so lucky as to see them continue to do so!!! Please support them and their unique music.

The show was awesome. Nice seeing/hearing great music being played by great musicians. Nice concept. Ot of the current rad performers should take note. Instead of trying to reproduce your videos on stage, sing , play your instruments LIVE PERFORMANCE, is so much better than preprogrammed crap.
