Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

This year is our third time coming to see Rudolph, after our daughter requested to see it yet again, and we all still enjoyed it!! It's fun and family friendly in length, cost and general atmosphere. Plus the theater is a great size so there really isn't a bad seat, though we generally like it up in the balcony.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer at Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh NC was amazing. The venue is easy to get to and the staging very professional. It's a wonderful show for children and will bring back Christmas memories to the adults, We especially liked the elves this year!

We loved all of it especially the lights. The actors and actresses were very good too. The event was just great for little kids!! We loved the area where you could put on costumes and make pictures.

We made this play a family outing! We took our three grandsons (ages 4, 4, & 6), and their parents....and we were ALL extremely thrilled with the performances, and how the play was featured, and the costumes (which were amazing...done like the animals in The Lion King)! The story was easy for the younger boys to follow, and held their attention. We have only lived in NC a little over a year, and we have now been to two performances at the Duke Energy Center, and plan on enjoying more in the future! Thank you all, for a great performance!

Excellent production! My three grandchildren 5,2&1/2 and 3 loved it. Ushers had us move down and our seats were perfect!!

I took my niece and nephew to the show and was thrilled with the costumes, the acting and the voices... they truly made the beloved TV Christmas special come to life!

This was a very cute play. The story stuck to the original storyline, which my 4-year-old loved because she has seen the cartoon many times. She especially loved the Abominable Snowman. The actors did a fantastic job, and the costumes were so cute. We really enjoyed the show and I would recommend it for a family performance!

My 6 yr old, 2 yr old, and 46 yr old [husband :)] all enjoyed this show so much. The potential "scary" parts with the snow monster were thoughtfully toned down and the pace of the show was great for keeping everyone's attention. The costumes were great! In the words of my 2 yr old, we heartily say, "More Reindeer!"

In the middle of the play, my child said that Rudolph was just too girlie.

I love that it actually followed the story and didn't deviate. The songs were great! Yukon Cornelius + Abominable Snowman stole the show ;) I would recommend this to anyone. Great for kids and adults. I really enjoyed reliving one of my favorite childhood Christmas shows.

Child was thrilled and excited to see play, front row seats were a definite plus.

I brought my adult daughter who is autistic and otherwise mentally challenged to the show. She loves singing the Rudolph song! My two sisters came with us. We all agreed that the characters were very well played especially the head elf! The set and most of the costumes were great. Our only disappointment was that Santa did not look or sound at all like Santa for most of the show. Even though I told my daughter that person was suppose to be Santa she didn't quite believe me. Aside from that, we really enjoyed the show and were happy we came. An added bonus was that we got the Rudolph Activity sets for free. The activities are a good level for my daughter and several young relatives.

Great show! Performers were very talented! Really got us in the Christmas spirit...entertaining for all ages!

If you like the Rudolph tv special, you will love this show! They even included Yukon Cornelious! The "bumble" was not too scary either.

Entertaining show for family members of all ages. Fun addition to our Christmas holidays.

Third time seeing it. My daughter is now five and she loves it. Lots of excitement in the lobby. Face paint and inflatables. Show is just the right length with an intermission.

I thought the musical was tastefully done and we loved all the characters. All the kids we seen were engaged and had fun. Job well done to the directors and staff that made this event a success! Merry Christmas to all!

We took our kids to see Rudolph the musical for a Christmas family outing. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the play and would recommend to anyone.. The props were excellent especially the abominable snowman!

We took our 2.5 year old son to see Rudolph and I don't think he moved the entire time, he loved it! It was very cute and followed the movie story well. This will be a yearly tradition for sure! Definitely recommend it for anyone with children, old or young!

We took our 2 year old granddaughter. We wondered if she was too young to start this tradition...not with this show! Absolutely amazing. Hats off to the cast, they were perfect in every way. I felt like we were watching the movie but it was alive! We were all mesmerized by the talent of these actors. Perfect show for any age!

This show was a great experience for my 7 year old. The ushers were sweet and we made some friends with people who were sitting in front of us. The acoustics in the Landamrk Theatre are amazing.

We took my daughter and granddaughter to the show and they loved it . My granddaughter was singing and participating in all the songs. She said that rudolph flying was so much fun. She was mesmerized by all the characters. It's nice to take the family to something during the holidays that everyone can enjoy.

We took our 17 month old grandson, along with his mom and uncle who are both in their early twenties. The whole family loved it! It kept the attention of our grandson, who was glued to the show the entire time. Our favorite was Clarice! Loved the entire show. Very entertaining.

A lot of fun! We had a ball. I enjoyed it just as much as my 3 year old.

What a wonderful play! It was very much like the Rudolph special that I have been watching since the late 1960's. The show covered every aspect of the story. The characters' voices were very similar to the original Rudolph characters. The puppeteers were fantastic especially the Island of Misfit Toys characters. My boys loved it and my husband (who rarely comments anything more than "it was OK") said that he thought it was really good.

My family has gotten tired of shows performed on ice. This wonderful production of Rudolph was so refreshing. My three and four year old grand daughters loved it and asked to see it again. The production was true to the story and had that old time feel while still using modern technology. We will go again next year.

Boring, didn't hit the high points well. Singing was good. Lighting was done well. Costumes looked very good.

We didn't know what to expect with the Rudolph musical.....the cast was awesome!! We enjoyed every minute of the musical and our 6 year old was beaming ear to ear after the event. I hope it comes back next year as we would definitely go again! I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the story of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!!

Could hardly hear the show , needed to be louder. The seats they opened up too were ridiculous and way to far away.

The cast did an awesome job. The scenes were greats and the singing/music was spot on. My granddaughter loved the show. The only negative was the sound needed to be louder. I would definitely recommend this for kids of all ages!

Such a great show and the music and characters were great!!! Rudolph, Yukon, Clarice, Hermie, The Misfits, etc. came to life just like the show.

Wholesome family fun... a new tradition that takes you back to your childhood. Couldn't have asked for a better kickoff to the holiday season.

This on stage production was pretty close to the animated version. The elfs roll seemed a bit overwhelming and dominated the show.

Loved it, was true to the show. Actor playing Hermie was spot on. Yukon added some extra flair and sarcasm that parents will appreciate. Sit in the middle orchestra section for artificial snow at the end.

Loved the play. The actors were fabulous. Great voices! Was disappointed in the lack of theater decorations! Was looking forward to walking into Christmas Town. Instead plain grey blah theater!

We took my 5 year old niece to see it. She loved it we loved it. It was just like the movie and I love that that. The set was great and the costumes were fabulous.

This musical was great! Almost word for word, scene for scene of the classic tv holiday special! Every song and every character from the tv show was in it! The performance was outstanding!

We loved Rudolph! My son was in awe the entire time and I enjoyed reliving an old classic.

My mother and I decided to get tickets to this musical for our very first visit to NYC and we loved it. It was almost like sitting in the actual movie that I grew up watching. Much laughter for the audience throughout the entire show. We also got upgraded seats for that night as well.

Beautiful theater with a very friendly staff. Could be more bathroom locations other than the one on the bottom level. The play was great, sticking to the movie, even the voices sounded the same! We will definitely return!

Great show for kids and nostalgia for the adults who grew up with it!

First, the staff at the Duke Fletcher Opera were fantastic. They were all pleasant, welcoming, warm, and delightful. We had just gotten lost, were running late, and coming in to them was amazing. The show was geared towards kids but my 4 adult relatives and I all thoroughly enjoyed it. The cast was really fun and the set was pretty outstanding.

The play was excellent up until the scary abominable snow man came out. My 4 year old was scared to death, cried and begged to leave. So we left at intermission.

The show was great and the cast was outstanding. It was like watching the original show when I was a child, my two sons enjoyed the show as well they are 12 and 9. This in NOT a show for toddlers or children under 5 years of age so please don't take them so others can enjoy the show..

A nice, family friendly event. A Christmas classic come to life!

We have a 4 and 7 year old and both thoroughly enjoyed the show. At intermission my son was bummed it was over and wanted more! He was glad when we said there was more. The actors voices were so much like the movie voices, it was amazing. The story itself follows the movie exactly so no disappointment there. The scenery is simple, just like the movie - you feel like you are watching Claymation on stage. It is a perfect start to the holiday season for any age ,but especially the kiddies!

My 6 year old daughter and I went to see Rudolph the Musical. It was perfection!! The actors were so life like in the characters they played! They captured our attention from start to finish!! I would highly recommend it for the entire family!!!

Very cute. Very fun. Costumes were well done and some of the actors were so dead on to the performances in the movie, that it was hard to tell the difference. The Abominable Snowman was a highlight. My 2 year old loved it! Has been obsessed with Rudolph ever since.

This show was recommended to us by a classmate of our daughter's. We were in need of a live performance for my other daughter to evaluate for her drama class for a grade. This was the perfect win-win opportunity. We were pleased with our seats and the performance was amazing. It was just a magical night for all.

My grandkids LOVED the musical. The talent, props, set and the entire experience was fabulous.

Rudolph was really good the did great job with it followed the story to a T...

A wonderful production - kept my granddaughter interested from beginning to end. She sang along with each song and clapped with joy at the end of each vocal performance. A beautiful memory was made for both my little one and me. I am so glad I purchased these tickets!

Show stayed true to the original story line. Creative and lively, great singing and very engaging for the children. Definitely a must see!

Show was great, my 9 year-old loved it. As a tip, don't sit in the first few rows if you are in Madison Square Garden. Little ones won't be able to see the action as the stage is set up quite high. We were 3rd row, this was just on the border of being able to see/not see, I would recommend 4th row as the closest to be.

This is my second time taking my daughter to the Tilles Center. Kid friendly.

Excellent performance for young children Venue easily accessible

My kids really enjoyed it. Loved being able to meet actors afterward.

I believed that we were attending a children's event and so I was surprised and a little disappointed at how little thought was given to the children's comfort. First of all, there were many adults in the audience (some without children!) and therefore it made it difficult for my nephew (who is only 5) to see the stage. He had to sit on my husband's lap the entire show. Either there should be priority given to children in the seating/purchasing or they should provide booster seats. Also, the entire show was only a little over an hour, which is appropriate for children, as they tend to have short attention spans. However, there was an overly long and unnecessary intermission (about 25 min) midway through the show. Obviously MSG only cares about selling more concessions otherwise they would not have held an intermission at all for such a short show. It was obvious that most kids were getting restless during the intermission (running around in the aisles and screaming) and by the time the show started up again, my nephew had already started to lose interest (as did I). In addition, they allowed guests to come in very late after the show began (15-20 min) which was extremely disruptive and blocked our view of the stage while people were getting in their seats, taking off their coats, etc. At one point, a party of 6 came in about 20 min after the show started and piled in the row right in front of us, totally ruining our experience while they got settled. When I remarked to my husband how rude it was, one of the women cursed at me right in front of my 5-year old! I will note that this party of 6 were all adults and did not even have a child with them, I heard them talking during the intermission and they claimed to receive free tickets, which is obviously why they didn't care that they were late or disruptive.

Rudolf was amazing! We took our two granddaughters and it was very majical!

My granddaughter enjoyed it until about half way through then she was done. The storyline did not hold interest and I think it was a bit amateur for the price. Costumes were just ok and choreography was poor. Disappointed as an adult.

The show was very well done and creative. Intermission was 20 minutes. Not sure why the 2nd half was only 15 minutes long. Short show.

Exciting for little ones. Watch the movie then the show.
