We, and another couple, attended Saturday's game against Evansville. We had a terrific time! There's not a bad seat in the house, and the action was fast and fun. I would recommend this for the whole family. Free parking, and friendly people everywhere. Oh, and BTW, the Mavericks won! GO MAVS!

I was pleasantly surprised that the minor league hockey game I attended was a lot more entertaining than the NHL games I've attended. The arena is perfect for this event and there isn't a bad seat in the house. I'll be going again this weekend!

The Mavericks are an exciting young team. They need to work on their passing and on taking more shots. They have a good defense and solid goal tending which keeps them in the game and competitive. There isn't a bad seat in the arena and they do a good job of providing entertainment for the whole family. There are lots of games and give-aways that are fun to watch whenever the action on the ice is stopped. Parking is free and convenient. The food at the area is good and there are plenty of nearby places to eat before the event.

It was like I went to a commercial and a hockey game broke out. The PA system was way too loud for an enclosed space and there wasn't a moment when music and gab wasn't being blasted, primarily hawking the many sponsors of first one promo and another. That being said, the view of the game was excellent from one end to the other. They really worked to engage the fans whenever there was a break in the action. Concessions were good, reasonable, and not overly crowded. I will say that the rows are extremely close together and if anyone needs to get in or out, every one on the row has to stand to let them pass. I'm a novice fan but I still enjoyed the game. I was a bit frustrated because sometimes it didn't seem like the Mavericks team although full of talented athletes, hadn't caught on the value of playing as a team. I will be back, but will make sure I take my ear plugs just to cut down on the volume - I'm sure I'll still be able to hear every word.

This was my first hockey game in 20 yrs and it was fantastic. Every seat is a good seat. They have free parking and affordable ticket prices. Ton's of kids so its perfect for the whole family. Go early and eat hot dogs and beer for really cheap before the game starts. My wife even loved it and she doesn't "do the sports thing."

The overall experience was great! It was our first game out here so we thoroughly enjoyed it. Easy in and out from the parking lots. Ticket pick-up was a breeze, we bought online and had to pick up at will-call....literally took 2 minutes. Not a bad seat in the house! My wife doesn't even like hockey and she loved it! Great job Mavericks!

i had a rough week and needed something great to happen to me,so i checked into ticket master and saw the missouri mavericks were going to play friday night. i decided that was it,as i had never seen the mavericks play before but had heard so many good things about our team. the independence center was a very very nice arena with many more eating and drinking spots to check out. they have everything from k.c. masterpiece to mr goodcents. there was also many many giveaways that totally delighted me as this kept you wondering what was going to happen next,then in between all the food and giveaways there was a fantastic game by the mavericks that by the way they won 4 to two.

This was my first live hockey game and while the Mavericks played like amateurs during the first 2 periods they came back for a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory. The night was cold as to be expected but inside the arena was unreasonable cold. However, once the comeback started I forgot all about it! This game was out of a movie!

Mavericks games are always enjoyable but the venue is disappointing. I spent $130 for 4 tickets in the "family pack", which included a hot dog and soft drink with each ticket. The hot dogs were dinky little dogs and they didn't have them until halfway through the first period. The drinks were super small, of course. They refuse to give you an extra cup or paper plate so you can easily split something. It's ridiculous. Absolutely penny wise and pound foolish. I'll spend my $130 somewhere else next time.

The Mavericks are a great team. The Oilers record isn't as good as the Mavericks. You would think this could have been a boring game. However, it was a close match with great saves and some great body checking. Awesome time!!!

This was my first visit to the Silverstein Arena and to see the Missouri Mavericks. From the moment we walked in the doors, it was a great experience -- the enthusiastic fans wearing their Mavs gear, the displays in the corridors, the size and scope of the arena, Mac and Cheeze!, the friendliness and energy of the staff and ushers ... so much fun and excitement, and this was all before the game even started. The game was phenomenal -- the level of competition, the engagement and support of the fans, and the intermission and break promotions/activities were great. This league really knows how to treat its fans and families, and I will definitely go back and recommend this to friends. Thanks, Missouri Mavericks!

My first hockey game and it was more than I thought. The pace and speed of the game was incredible and definitely the hardest working officials in sports. Seats were great and it is a super venue to watch sports. Not a bad seat in the house. Crowd was great and the gentleman next to me was very patient with me explaining the rules and overall just a great day.

I went to my first Mavericks game with my girlfriend for Valentine's Day. It was a really fun experience. It's a great place for a family to enjoy a sporting event for reasonable prices. It's also a great place to go with some friends to let loose and have a few adult beverages.

Never been to a hockey game before.. And I was pleasantly surprised. The venue was very nice, clean, organized. All the workers were friendly and not a bad seat in the house. The Mavs organization did an outstanding job on the home opener. It was family fun, inexpensive and even the food was good. Wanted to experience something new .... and it was fun.

I've been to hockey games in some NHL and AHL arenas and this game/arena was better then some of them. Fan participation and energy was contagious. The arena was clean and spacious.Will definitely try to get back before the season is over.

I go to a lot of Mavericks games. This was the first time sitting on the glass! It was AWESOME!!! No other seat in the house is as good as sitting on the glass!! With that being said, this was also our first maverick's game that we have been to where they lost... That was pretty disappointing.. Life goes on though. 4 stars because they lost. We took our 6 year old son to his first hockey game, and we will be going back! The Independence Event Center is a great venue! There was so much more than just the game to keep us entertained! I would suggest going early to check out all the booths and to enter in some fun contests! Our seats were well worth the price! The atmosphere was electric and my rambunctious son was all about getting out of his seat and making some noise! We are all officially Mavericks fans! I can't wait to go back, and we will definitely return for other events, also!!

I recieved my tickets for Christmas from my Uncle because my sister and I both attend Missouri State University an we always go on and on about the hockey team. It is an understatement to say we were infinitely excited! This was our first Mavericks game and all I can say is "WOW". Also, It was impressive how well organized the venue was. The staff was efficient and kind and helpful. We will most definitely attend another Mavericks game. No doubt about that!

My wife and I are HUGE fans! We both agreed this was our BEST experience yet! Our 28 month son won't take his eyes off the ice and loves to watch the action. From the drop of the puck at center ice to the final score (which ended in a Mav's 6-4 victory) both teams played their hearts out.

We love going to the games. It is such a rush hoping to win. Overtime is a nail biting experience. Exciting seeing the fans stay until the very end. Love when the mascots Mac and Cheese entertain the young kids and the big kids. Love the family oriented atmosphere. The staff for both the arena and the Mavericks are always very helpful and joyous to chat with.
