Devon Allman opened for Rusted Root and show was awesome. One of the best I have been to in a long time!! I hope they come back for a second round! Saw Rusted Root last when I was 18 and 17 years later they sound even better. Venue was perfect, sound was perfect. So great!

I wasn't feeling Rusted Root, so I left after their second song. Besides, how could they follow the amazing Toad the Wet Sprocket??? It was unfair to make them go last! The only criticism I have about this concert, really, is that the venue needs to provide better sound quality. Some of the microphones were so low that you could not hear the voices. Overall, the voices were overpowered by the instruments, but especially some key harmonies were missing from the songs because of it.

Rusted Root is ALWAYS a great show but to see them up close and personal in the intimate Event Center at Bethel Woods was phenomenal!!! I love small venues and would absolutely go to a show in the Event Center again! Rusted Root is one of the BEST shows to see live!!!

Unexpected awesome night!! We go to countless shows, concerts are our guilty pleasure, if it looks remotely interesting, we buy tickets...they were amazing!! We stood front and center and danced all night. They have a great vibe and actually come out into the crowd to meet their fans after the show.

A totally different vibe with the new members.....I actually left the concert before they left the sage. It's a far cry from their shows in the late 1990's. And what the hell is with selling their song to the Citgo gas folks for a commercial.....Have they gone insane?

It didn't matter to us, really... we were right up by the stage, and enjoyed the space. But the show was phenomenal, and it seemed a shame the band is a bit under-appreciated by Central Florida. At first, the show was a bit subdued-- perhaps the lack of a full house was disheartening to the band? But they heated up fairly quickly. Gave us a tight, creative blend of their old and new work. And a 5 song encore! (rare at HOB from my experience)

Rusted Root delivers a lively, flawless, engergized show every time I see them. I live in Louisville and travel to cities close by for every show. (I wish they would come to Louisville more often.) The music makes me happy, makes me dance and I am never disappointed when I see The Root!

The concert was short, partly for lack of an opening band. The original members of Rusted Root played well, as did a 20 something drummer. A couple strange, acoustic electric sounds, but it brought back memories.

Opening act was a local funk bank named Infatuations. They seemed to enjoy themselves on stage and their musical talent was pretty good. A few of the songs were very similar, so I tuned out for those and did some people watching from the balcony. The bar had a pretty good selection of beer. The bartender who waited on us and the other staff we engaged were all really pleasant. Rusted Root was awesome - they played a good list of songs and they sounded excellent even in this very small venue. My only wish is that they change up their set list occasionally to include songs other than ones from When I Woke. I fell in the love with the band on that album, but they have a great catalog of music choose from. They don't need to keep playing Send me on my way every show.

Great song selection , excellent musicianship , all vocals were dead on. Apparently there is a seasonal ticket and for some reason the older folks decided not to come which did detract a bit. I have been listening to Rusted Root since I was a teenage (now 34 years old) and I always liked there music. Never really had a huge need to see them in concert though. I have seen The Wailers a few times in the past and they have been great. I have to say Rusted Root definitely outperformed The Wailers and were much better live than I thought they would be. They were fun, entertaining and sounded amazing.

When I bought the tickets for this event, I was totally convinced that Rusted Root was the main act, so I was disappointed to learn that the were on before the Wailers. But, they were given the same amount of time as the Wailers and once again, they put on a fantastic spirited set. Drawing songs mostly from When I Woke, the band had me up and dancing, (which is something I just cannot refrain from doing when RR is playing). The crowd was predominately Wailers fans, so we actually moved to the side section so we could get up and dance without disturbing the sitting Wailers fans. The venue itself was very nice. I had attending Rutgers from 82 to 86 and I don't really remember knowing about this historic theater. I was told it went through a "dark" period so perhaps that was during my time there. The theater is beautiful, comfortable and the sound was great. The staff there was helpful and very friendly. My only complaint is the $10 12oz cans of beer. I understand the theater is a non-profit, so I guess I can just mark that down as a donation.

I went to this because of Rusted Root, and ended up enjoying the second half of the concert with The Wailers more. Maybe it was our location (mezzanine) but, for my taste, Rusted Root seemed to have way too much amplification. The instruments overwhelmed the vocals and my husband said he felt the sound was distorted. I wondered whether that was somewhat intentional,as it seemed the vocal range of the lead was diminished, when it was able to be heard (sore throat? Illness?). I found myself marvelling at techinically visual things, such how the songs flowed into each other without a full break for applause and how the drummer never got to stop at all. I felt the drummer did not get as full an applause at the end of the RR part of the concert as he was due. The volume for The Wailers was less problematic --you could actually pick up most of the lyrics -- and they had a more theatrical presence. I just enjoyed the music. You cannot beat this for value, though: almost 3 hours of professional music for $33, without having to haul into Chicago.

Rusted Root opened, probably my 4th time seeing them live. One of my top ten fave bands! High energy set, with a pretty high energy audience for mostly older crowd. New & older material done. Great to hear them in a venue with good acoustics. The Wailers were good also. Almost everyone in the fist 20 rows stood up, and remained standing, with the 1st note of the first song. So we moved to empty seats toward the back of the theater. Sound was actually better toward the back, under the balcony. A couple unfamiliar to me songs at the start of the set, then they played most of Legends. Not a lot of spontaneity, it seemed pretty much like a canned set. But I'm not a rabid Wailers fan, and there were most certainly a good number of these folks at the show. I love the Genesee. Just wish there were a good really good eating options within a couple blocks of the theater.

I just saw Rusted Root & Wailers @ The Genesee Theater, and what a great show this was. Rusted Root opened the night - started with Welcome to my Party, and then kept running through several songs from their catalog. They played lots of songs from their debut CD, including lost in the crowd, drum trip, ecstasy, Martyr, and encoring with send me on my way. They played with great energy. The Wailers came on second, and pretty much kept the momentum going. People were on their feet dancing the whole time as they ran through all the hits, and more. Songs included Jammin', could you be loved, redemption song, I shot the sheriff, and many more. All in all a great time. One note - I strongly recommend that The Genesee Theater do more shows there. Easy parking, good sound, good sight lines, and fairly easy to get to. I would like to see more events at this venue.

I saw this band 10 years ago and they are always a great time. At 49 years old i felt like a college kid dancing and feeling great. They are real musicians, not some band that creates their music on a computer. They flow together like a band from the 70s, they harmonize. I would highly recommend this bands and their good vibe, the same happy vibe that i feel when see Michael Franti live.

We really enjoyed seeing this band live! The instrumentation was vibrant and the lead singer has a wonderful voice and presence. He even sang an Elvis song which he sang with Rusted Roots style. The percussions take you away. The drummer, although looking like a kid, was wonderful and exciting. Opening act, Larkin and Poe was a totally different vibe. It was very dark music in stark contrast to Rusted Roots and couldn't wait to get to the band we came to see.

It was a great day to be in AC. You didn't have to look too far to see the impact that Bob Marley's music has had on this elated audience as virtually everyone knew the words to all of the songs they played. While 15 songs barely skims the surface of their vast catalog, The Wailers certainly gave us all what we came to see and hear. The only way this show could have gotten any better would have been for Bob to have been there singing these amazing songs himself, or if we were in Jamaica on the beach listening. We can all take solace for the fact that his music will continue to have an impact on future generations for years to come.

Not sure there's another band out there that gets people moving and swaying quite like Rusted Root. Saw them for the first time ever last May at the Chameleon and became an instant fan. Have seen them twice in the past 60 days, and may catch them at Ardmore Music Hall on Feb 20. Their albums are great, but they're even better live. Such a unique sound - a lot of African/Latin/island percussion & rhythm, but they can rock it out with the best of 'em. I categorize their music as infectiously addictive. And they're genuinely nice people, signing CD's and other items after the show. Do yourself a favor. Next time they're anywhere near you, get out and catch this band! I guarantee, you'll love 'em!

After quite some time of being off the road and away from the circuit Rusted Root has come back with a vengance, a new sound a stereo rodeo, rhythm that has never been tighter, and now it all just seems like a great big party, well it always was now wasn't it. Definitely a great scene to see so many of my age group those late 20's early 30's just letting loose and dancing an evening away. A great evening, and a great way to remember those yesteryears. All the hits were played and many new that will surely become hits.

When Root comes to town they usually play Jannus, but as we all wait for that classic venue to re-open, the band found a new home at the State Theatre. I'm not a big fan of a non-smoking theatre for a jam band - can't really get the right kind of buzz going...but the crowd found the plenty bars and didn't seem to mind. Then night started with a great set by Clayton Senne - dang that drummer smacks those skins - and quite unusual to see a band without a lead guitar - but clayton and his rhythm section got the crowd going. When Rusted Root took to the stage they seemed a bit out of sorts - maybe it's the small stage for all their instruments...and the sound set-up seemed to bother a few members. But once they got groovin' it was all the best. They played a very similar set to the one at Jannus in the spring...new stuff from stereo rodeo as well as their classics. The lead singer in just awesome. So powerful. And the band just seems so talented...seems like only the bass player plays one instrument - the rest always have some other sound brewing. I've seen this band about 8 times, and i never leave disappointed...these folks rock, seem to enjoy each other and find such a rich beautiful sound that fills the air and gets everyone grooving. And last night was no exception...not sure there's too many bands that get the sounds of the world to speak so clearly to me.

Went in with high expectations having seen them in the 90s. Was clear from the beginning that this was just another gig for them. Unenthusiastic, all the songs seem to be down beat from originals, even crowd was thinning out by the fifth or six song. Noticed immediately that you couldn't even hear lead vocals, went to look back at soundman and he was dozing off not even paying attention. Bummer because they were so energetic and fun to watch back in the 90s. Was really hopeful they still had that special something. Would not recommend seeing them.

I have seen root over 25 times over 20+ years and unfortunately since they parted ways with the last drummer Preach a couple years ago they have really went downhill. Just don't have the same energy they used to. Overall the show was ok bUT definitely not great. It was the opening night of the tour so that might of had something to do with their performance. Devon Allman though put on a good show with great energy. He played some originals, some old covers and some Allman brothers...

a unanounced 3rd(1st act) - thank Paramount for letting us know.. Couldn't tell u the name because the sound system was so muddled.. So Toad starts around 9 something and the sound is a bit better ( a miracle of acoustics since the sound guy left for the entire set). RR hits the stage @ 10:30 and basically mails it in for 1:15 before a single encore. I say mailed it in because they played about a dozen songs all night of which 2 were covers from other artists. For those who think i'm just some old music crab I've been in the music world for 40 yrs and have followed both bands for about 20.. Toad did the best they could with what they had to work with - RR and the venue did not.

One of my all-time favorite bands, and I have made some amazing new memories to their collection of music that continues to move me! Toad The Wet Sprocket was clearly underrated back in the day, but honestly, if you're a fan of lyrics and music that is inspiring and poetic as hell, you should tune in! The put on a great live show and my only complaint is that they could have played for another hour! Although they didn't do the entire Fear album on this night, the song choices were great and the crowd was as big of fans as I am and the evening was great! I like Rusted Root, but I had a long weekend and couldn't stay for their set - especially since they weren't coming on until close to 10:30. Oh and If I'm paying extra money to meet and greet and hang with the artist, I would think at least a folding chair would be available, or at least a set area so that we don't have to protect our space from encroaching patrons. Crowd comes in and tries to move you from your spot in front of the stage anyway, but thankfully they didn't succeed!

I am a huge Rusted Root fan and I come to see them whenever they play at The Paramount in Huntington, NY. The show on August 20, 2016 was the worst show I have been to. They didn't really seem into it at all and they only played about 6 songs or so. After the opening act was finished, a lot of the audience left. Maybe that's why they weren't good. I was so disappointed. I hope they are much better and play much more of there songs when they come back to the Paramount.

Loved seeing Rusted Root at the Indoor facility at Bethel Woods. It was absolutely gorgeous inside and the close knit atmosphere was perfect for the evening. The band was awesome as always and gave this more intimate gathering their all. Loved hearing some of the new songs, too!

we've been rusted root fans for a very long time and try to never miss a concert in the area. most of my family have never been to one of their concerts, so for Christmas, I bought tickets to this concert for them. after touting the band to them, we were really looking forward to a night of fun, peace and great music. it turned out to be the worst rusted root concert I have ever been to. I apologized to my family and my daughter said, "it's ok mom, they're just getting old and tired". we were sitting about 15 rows back on the floor...and I heard the same type of statements from the people sitting around us. one guy said..."wow...they're just not into it tonite.....look at the crowd...usually everyone is up dancing...this is a true sign of a dead show...everyone is sitting". that's how I felt too. the sound was off, the energy was like zero level from the band....so different than the usual concert. the opening band burning river ramblers was actually much more entertaining,

People were on their feet and dancing in the aisles. Lots of guitar changes. Great seats. Reasonable drink prices.

We love Rusted Root, seen them before, but this was their best show yet. It was actually my husbands birthday the same day, he said, "Best Birthday Ever"! They make you feel like your in your own backyard just groovin' with friends and loving life at every moment. I teared up when the show was over, I didn't want it to end. We brought a friend with us whose never seen Rusted Root, he LOVED them!!! The venue was great, too...very personal. We can't wait until they come around again, already looking at their schedule and will travel to see them. Right-on Rusted Root!!!!!

This was my first time to the Hard Rock Rocksino and I found the venue to be well organized, easy to enter and exit, and the auditorium was one of the nicer places to see a show. They might consider raising the stage or change the seating height to allow for people in the back to see better. We arrived at 7:00pm for general admission seating and we were able to snag two right-center seats two rows from the stage. The opening act started exactly at 8:00pm and played for about 30 minutes. A good local act called Burning River Ramblers. Rusted Root came on about 9:00pm and played almost continually till 10:30pm. The opening song "Welcome to my Party" through the closing "Send me on my way" were well done and the near sellout audience response was overwhelming. The band let none of the technical difficulties with equipment bother their performance in the least.

I have seen Rusted Root perform countless times at festivals, small venues, as far back as when they played in Kent, Ohio while I was in college. Every time I see them is a good time, but this was by far the largest crowd I have seen in years!!!!! The energy was electric! The only thing I didn't like was there were chairs on the floor and not an open dance floor. I didn't let that stop me, I danced in the aisle.

This was my 9th Rusted Root show. In 2009 we were lucky enough to have them in Vegas twice, It was way to long in between shows. The only thing that was missing was Preach Freedom...RR will always be the best live show on the planet. Anyone who wants to see amazing live music should not miss these guys.

Rusted Root is one of the best groups you could ever see! The setting is intimate and they just rock it out. They also had a pretty amazing group of musicians opening for them called Songs of Water and the drinks were about $3.oo! Plus we got the drummers autograph this time!

l would recommend this group to EVERYONE. They even came out at the end of the concert and talked to the people who waited. Not only were they personable with the crowd, they were a great up beat show to watch. I was shaking after because it was so exhilarating. If anyone is on the fence about going or not, definitely GO! I can't wait to see them live again.

Rusted Root always puts on an awesome show! Lots of food truck options available during this event too....however I think something may have made the other half sick. I did have some ice cream from Nicey Treat and it was AMAZING! Beer was good too!

Watching Rusted Root with a full belly of amazing food from the food trucks, while the fireworks were going off made it the most unforgettable 4th of July ever. The band was phenomenal, as expected and did an awesome job keeping my attention. I didn't even watch the fireworks, i was too enthralled with the concert.
