I do not attend as much since they increased parking from $5 to $10. Love the ball park atmosphere. The performance of this game stunk. Little leaguers play better. Back to watching HS or college ball. Maybe they will improve but their heart is not in the game.

We always enjoy going to the Rainiers games as a family. Never had a negative experience. This time we sat over in the P section which was fine other than the sun. If you can sit on the ground the grass area us fun as well. Can't wait until the next time.

I'd never been to Cheney Stadium before but had a friend visiting from out of town who loves baseball and thought he'd enjoy it. We got tickets for a Friday night game that ended up being King Felix's rehab start. I knew parking would be at a premium, but I didn't factor in that one lot would be cordoned off for the fireworks show. We did finally find a place to park and were a little late getting in but, despite it all, it was a great game, the weather was perfect and the seats could not have been better (last row of Section K).

The new venue needs to get a uniform time to open the gates. Opening night was 2 hours prior to game time, second night was 1 hour prior, third game (day) was 1 and 1/2 hours ahead. The people working the games were told one hour prior would be standard, and they couldn't explain the difference. We waited in the parking lot for over 20 minutes for the second game's opening which wasn't all that bad had it not been for the new luxury seating opening much earlier in front of everyone that was waiting. Didn't go over well with a lot of people. Gave the appearance of caring more for the luxury folks, and not the folks that have supported them for years.

Starting time of 1:40 hopefully will be moved to an earlier time to enhance chances of more sun!. PCL ruling of disallowing peanuts to be brought in sucks big time. reverse of safeco field by the way..box seats are cozy and view is great everywhere we didn't try the berm but only half of it was available to the patrons. WHY?.concessions were OK for ballpark fare and my fave, garlic fries, were in abundance. no non-alcoholic beverages were available and i feel this should be addressed. O'doul's or Sharps beer are great alternatives to the others hardly a bad seat in the stadium. overall, 4 stars.

We decided very last minute based upon the weather and we had a great time at the park. The stadium is nice and we saw other venues we'd like to try for other games. The food items were new and tasted good...we tried the Super Nachos and Garlic Fries (better than Safeco's, not drowned in garlic). My only qualm is that the TicketMaster site won't let you select a specific section and there were lots of empty seats I would rather have had if they were available. We selected "Best Available" a couple of times to get near where we wanted, but ultimately we were happy with what we got.

Beautiful new stadium on opening night - only problem was NO ROOF! They built a brand new stadium in WA state for outdoor baseball and did away with roof covering for their "bread and butter" fans! Suite boxes had a roof, but the rest of us "average joes" got nothing. What were you thinking Tacoma Rainiers?

I have been attending games at Cheney Stadium on a regular basis since 1994. I was blown away by the transformation of the new Stadium.There is no resemblance of the old Stadium.Other than the foot print. Even that is larger than original. I thought it was strange for a fan that has been attending games at Cheney Stadium for sixteen years to have to ask security for directions, really was unusual. I was in Commercial Construction 31 years before retiring three years ago.I have also attended Ball games in San Fransisco, Oakland, Los Angles, San Diego, Kansas City, Chicago and New York.I am confident when I say the Quality of Construction and the thought that went into designing the new facility exceeded even my expectations I tip my hat to all those people that made this happen. You have truly created a Diamond that was in the rough.

Moved to TTown last Aug live very close to Cheney. This was our first game which capped off a nice vacation week. We totally enjoyed the game and stadium. What's not to like about 13-1 victory on a gorgeous spring day.

Cheney Field is a really friendly, family oriented ballpark with an upbeat, fun, wholesome atmosphere. Since it's small, all the seats are literally good ones, and the food, between-inning entertainment, signage, announcements and old-time organ music are all done with style and a sense of fun. The addition of Tacoma's own "The Red Hot" hot dog stand makes the place even better. They even have a dog with Crackerjacks on it. Saw no bad fan behavior, no need for roaming "alcohol enforcement" officers because everyone just has a good time and realizes that there are many little tykes in the stands. Nothing negative to add even if I try to come up with something.

There's not a bad seat in the house. We went on a Saturday night in the middle of the summer and the crowd was fun, beer was cold and the Rainiers won on a walk off hit. Recommend the family environment and intamate setting.

Had a great time at the game. The stadium was awesome every seat had a great view of the field. The mascot and event crew kept the kids entertained. And the Rainier's won. I couldn't recommend this any more it was a great time great ballpark and it was pretty inexpensive.

Game was awesome. We're from Texas, and watched the Chihuahuas when they were the Diablos. Washington fans are one of a kind. In a good way. They DEFINITELY love their Rainiers!! Had a great time in all. Great fans. Great food. Awesome game. Fantastic entertainment and everyone behaved themselves. What more could you ask for?! Wil most definitely make this a habit.

Seeing the Tacoma Rainier's was a belated father's day gift so it was just me and my dad who went. Finding parking was super easy and Cheney stadium only charges $5 to park! The staff at the stadium was very kind and helpful when we asked for help finding our seats. The game was fun and lively, the crowd was great, and because of the size of the stadium there is truly no bad seat in the house! We got hotdogs and beer - spent close to $35 altogether on food but it was worth it. Overall the event was so much fun and I'd love to go back! Only two gripes: some of the beer stands were cash only, which was a bummer because I strictly only use card. And our seats in the top section were right at the front by the fence...and there was literally no room for our legs. Our knees were pressed against the chain link all night, it would have been nice to know beforehand since both my dad and I are pretty long-legged. Aside from these 2 things though, tons of fun and I cannot wait to go back and see The Rainier's!

We had a very enjoyable evening even though it was an on and off rainy night. Originally, we had seats up front but moved under shelter after 3rd inning. There was only about an 18% crowd. The food was tasty and fairly priced. Bottom line: Wholesome evening in superb facilities watching the major leagues' future talent followed by a short drive home. Looking at ACCUWEATHER, I was concerned about the possibility of a rainout so I contacted Mr. Latham. He provided helpful advice that we followed and attended. For one member of our group, this was the first time he visited the new Cheney Stadium. He was very impressed and will likely attend in the future. Go, Go, Go

It is such an awesome venue, not too big and over priced like the major league stadium. I would absolutely recommend :) we love bringing our daughter and making a day at the ball park, especially on sundays when they have kid events. We went to an 11:30AM game and when we finally got it the stadium was only about half filled. We arrived about 30 minutes early and waited 30 minutes in the parking line to find out that parking was full. We had to park in a neighborhood not knowing for sure if our vehicle would be there when we returned. It was. The parking people didn t have any suggestions for alternate parking. This is a serious problem. What happens with a full ballpark?

I attended a Sunday game with the family when the Rainiers hosted the Salt Lake Bees. This game was special for my family and I as we went to see Dustin Ackley play as our daughter is named after him. I had made a sign to try and get Dustin's attention in hopes of getting a photo with him. Unfortunately, our seats were a little out of sight for Dustin and his team. My family and I just decided to watch the game and enjoy our time regardless of if we would meet Dustin our not. Part way through the game a Rainiers staff member named Connie came over to my little family and said, "You know that Dustin is never going to see your sign over here?" I told her I agree but we are still enjoying our time. Connie then asked if we would like to sit closer to Dustin in some empty seats in hopes that he would see my sign. Connie went out of her way to move us and make sure that we had a better chance of meeting Dustin. Well, Dustin saw our sign and we were able to have a few minutes to chat with him after the game. Without Connie, we would never have had an amazing family experience that we can now show our daughter when she grows up.

I remember the days when you could go to the ballpark and catch a seat in the grandstands on the 3rd base side, have a beautiful view of Mt. Rainier, and just have a chill day. Now it's too expensive, practically every seat is reserved, and you have to be an exclusive member just to get into some of the beer gardens. And what happened to concessionaires selling food and drinks in the stands? This is minor league baseball! Nope, if you want a big league experience, go see the M's at the Safe. The Rainiers have gotten too big for their britches.

I'm a lifelong Cubs fan and my husband is from Uruguay so hasn't had a lot of exposure to baseball but has been getting more interested after the 2016 World Series. We have the Hillsboro Hops 5 miles from us and have tried to watch 2 games, leaving halfway through both times due to terrible play (5 errors in 4 innings last time). We both loved this game against the Rainiers and Chihuahuas, AAA is so much more enjoyable to watch with higher caliber of players and the in-between inning entertainment made us giggle too. Great experience all together, we wish y'all were down in Portland so we could go all the time. Only downside was that the food was shut down right when we got hungry in the late 7th inning/8th inning.

I was disappointed at the price I paid vice the advertised price. And then, to top off my disappointment, parking was only a dollar less than the ballgame ticket. Now I remember why I don't go to professional sports events very often. The extracurricular activity around me with obnoxious fans whose limited vocabulary of expletives did not make my ballgame experience any better.

Folks taking up more than their seat/space is a problem more places than on public transportation. It can happen even at a baseball game. The person that sat next to us at the game took up a seat and half of each seat on either side. I was disappointed that the usher did not notice the problem. But if it happens to you at the game, asked to be moved. You paid for the whole seat, not half. If you are the large person, figure it out, and don't just take your neighbor's space. Don't give up on the Rainiers and baseball. The Rainiers put on a great show, and they never give up. Thank you team. BECU also puts on a great fire works show after every Friday night's game. We had a great time! The Rainiers kicked butt! We were there on July 3rd and after the game was a great fireworks show! The Sales Manager helped us with a ticket deal (military discount). The only reason we are giving 4 stars not 5, is because our tickets included a hot dog meal, and the hot dogs are pre-wrapped in foil and sitting in a big pile for quick distribution and our hot dogs were pretty rough. Buns were smashed and dried up, hot dog was tiny and over cooked....good thing we also grabbed some peanuts and beer! Can't wait to get to go again!

A Rainiers game is a great outing for the whole family. The ball park is beautiful, the seats are comfy and there are plenty of fun activities for the kiddos. However, be prepared to spend some money if you want food or drinks. The prices are nuts (4.50 for a water). It's also crazy that they charge $10 for the parking lot when there are no other options. Still, the tickets are reasonably priced and it's a really fun way to spend an afternoon.

The venue itself is great for minor league baseball. Reserved seats are a good deal considering the talent (most are flirting with getting to the big leagues) and how close to the action the seats are. They also have less expensive admission options if reserved is out of your price range. The in house is also entertainment is also good enough to pass the time between innings. It is the perfect combination of fun and somewhat hokey that you expect at the ball park. The food selection is good. The prices are a little more like big league prices, but okay for ball park prices. It is the food locations that do keep this from being a 5 star review. While the staff is very friendly, the vendors seem to get overwhelmed by the slightest uptick in business. I have seen and experienced receiving a refund because my food was just never ready after waiting 15 minutes and after others who came after received their food.

WE WENT WHEN THE DOGS WERE WELCOMED ALSO. WHEN WE PARKED THE ATTENDANT FAILED TO TELL US THAT WITH THE DOG WE WOULD HAVE TO ENTER ON THE OTHER SIDE. WE PARKED THE CAR AND THEN HAD TO WALK WHAT SEEMED FOREVER TO GET IN THE STADIUM. WE ENTERED ON THE THIRD BASE SIDE BUT THE DOG VENDORS WERE ON THE FIRST BASE SIDE. THERE WERE NO WAIVERS TO SIGN EVEN THOUGH WE WERE TOLD THAT IS WHY WE HAD TO GO IN THE SPECIAL GATE. WHEN WE GOT TO OUR SEATS, WE WERE SURPRISED THAT THEY WERE SOAKING WET. IT HAD BEEN RAINING BUT I THOUGHT MAYBE SOMEONE WOULD WIPE THEM OFF. WE COULDN'T ASK AN USHER FOR ASSISTANCE BECAUSE WE COULDN'T FIND ONE. MY HUSBAND SAID THAT THIS WAS NOT THE MAJOR LEAGUE BUT THE PARKING PRICES SURE WERE. OUR DOG (AS DID ALL THE DOGS) HAD TO SIT IN THE PUDDLES OF WATER AT OUR SEATS. THE GAME ITSELF WAS FINE BUT THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WASN'T THE GREAT.

6 of us went to the 7PM game, raining off and on until a rain delay in the 3rd which lasted an hour. Had to leave :( kids were freezing. Make sure the weather is nice! I blame the weather man. He said it was supposed to be clear.

The game drags on so slowly. I was cold and bored by the fourth inning. Do not sit in the R yard because you can barely see the big screen.

This was our 50th Professional baseball stadium. Very courteous and accommodating staff, great food and beer selection. Friendly fans and a one of a kind ball park. New amenities with a breath taking view of Mt Rainier from the left field foul pole. Highly recommend for anyone interested in baseball or sports in general.

The experience at Cheney Stadium is a delight. The weather was great, the hitters hit, the pitchers pitched and all for a fraction of the cost of the overpriced Mariners.

So we arrived to our game 45 minutes early to try and carve out a seat at the top of the wall in the RYard. Unfortunately, roughly 7/8ths or the RYard was reserved for private parties leaving about a 20x20 foot area for RYard ticket holders to scavenge for seats, or places to stand. The downside of this is people from other section of the stadium are allowed to come to the RYard before the game and stay until the first pitch of the game, creating a quasi bum rush for seats when the game has already started. I call the bum rush quasi cause it was for such a small section of seats that it was not large enough to get out of hand. We were lucky enough to stand for the whole game directly behind the left field foul pole. View very obstructed. It was not a very welcoming feeling to sit in the RYard. I would recommend another section, probably at Safeco since the M's are good and the Rainiers seem to only cater to the large parties and summit club. The one thing that makes this 2 star instead of 1 is that the ticket comes with a free beer.
