Took 5 children with me from ages 7 to 16 yrs and we all enjoyed the circus tremendously - never a boring moment! Many times the younger were in awe watching the performers. Plus all the Shrine "helpers" were kind, courteous and pleasant helping us find our way around. Only negative, the camel ride was too short!

Everything was amazing, the only thing I see was an issue was the prices were extremely high.

It was a great show. Some cheesy moments but I would definitely go again. 4 year olds loved it. BUT they say to arrive an hour early to experience more of the show, but they ask for $20 per child to ride the elephants, extra for face painting, extra for riding the camels, it's just ridiculous! And there is a part of the show that they do a "light dance", this is to get every kid who didn't get a $15 light saber or wand to beg their parents for one. It's just a racket. And finally, the ringmaster is supposed to be the one getting the crowd excited and envolved, actually HOST the show essentially and he rarely said anything.

We watched Shrine Circus in Cedar Center with our children , age 4 and 6. The artists were really good. They had my heart miss a beat more than once. But I really was bothered by the selling guys who were always in the way during the show. Come on, can't you guys stop eating junk food for one hour and let us watch the show. Also , the center is really big and there was 3 scenes, we were on one side so we could just watch the artists in front of us. It was frustrating not to see all of them. There was a lot going on all at the same time, and I could just watch one at a time, and especially not those on the other side ( who were doing something different). That left me feel like I missed 2/3 of the show. The music transitions were ridiculously bad. I did like quite a few shows, the little clown and his walking elephant, the lady in the moon, the trapeze couple were excellent and very brave to do this without much visible security. But so many other artists were good !

I took my 7 and 4 yr old and we all had a GREAT time. The only downside was the barage of vendors working the audience to purchase expensive light toys that started at $15. I understand it was a fundraising event but I easily spent $150 for everything. I had to draw the line somewhere. All in all, highly recommended. Nice to see a REAL circus! 3 hours of good fun!

We usually go to Barnum & Bailey's circus but were out of town during it's run in the fall. This felt like a cheaper production but we liked it better in some ways. We missed the big musical numbers for the entrance and first-act finale (we planned to leave at intermission because of the late time) but it was nice to have only one act going at a time. And the clowns were actually funny--quite funny! So, the opening was tacky and had me worried about what we'd gotten into but we ended up loving it.

We took our two sons to the Shrine Circus over the weekend and had a wonderful time, but probably will not be going back. Merchandising. I got really tired of the staff walking through the stands trying to sell stuff. Lighted Swords, Lighted butterfly's, Stuffed elephant on a stick. It is one thing to sell the stuff outside in the concourses, but to stop the show it's self and announce "now is the time to buy the swords, it's not to late." Give me a break. My son pitched a fit, because he didn't have a sword. Needless to say, he didn't get one either. Circis

We loved the show, it was SO much fun!!! There really was something for everyone. They had clowns and acrobatics and some really great motorcycle tricks and an amazing finish with the human cannonball! My only complaints would be the music was a little too loud for little ears at times and the costumes on the girls were a bit inapropriate for such a young audience.

We had a great time at the circus. Overall a great time. Only a few gripes.....it cost way too much to ride the animals. For my family to be able to ride the elephant it was almost as much as all 5 of my tickets! Too much! Also it didn't start on time and lasted a little long into the night for my young kiddos. There was a lot of downtime towards the end, and my 4 year old fell asleep in my husband's lap. The acts themselves were AWESOME! And my daughter LOVED the elephants!

At half the price, the Austin Shrine Circus was just as good as the Ringling Bros. Circus a few months ago. We had floor seats for the same price as lower level was at the other circus. We paid less for parking and parked right in front of the center, and all the goodies were cheaper. Plus, they had way better food choices. The performers were good. Our favorite was Bo the elephant and the Stunt Motorcyclist. The clowns were funny, especially Alex. We will go again next year.

it was hard to get in to the event parking lot to begin with. ineffiicient. the previous show 4 hours earlier "ran over," and they did not let us into the seating area until almost 730, which was supposedly the event start time. when we found our seats we could tell there was still a long line of cars trying to get into the parking lot. there were plenty of kids in the 3 ring area getting elephant rides, pony rides and snake pictures (all at extra charge, of course). they finally "started" the event a bit after 800, but that was just 10' of introducing shriners. FINALLY, at about 815 the actual circus began. at 915 they announced an intermission, which meant a whole bunch more rides down on the floor for the kids. we knew it was not going to be a 30' intermission like they announced, so we left. overall, the circus itself was ok, the seating was great, close to the action and pretty comfortable. but the event planners took less than 2 fun hrs of circus and turned it into a 3 1/2 hour ordeal. we won't be doing that again. and one of our friends happened to go to the show before ours, which also started about an hour late.

Overall, this is definitely an event that would be great for kids with the different performances/stunts/animals... The intermission event with rides, face painting, etc. felt more expensive than I'd expect, and the thing was pretty unorganized with lines, and getting tickets to participate. Perhaps a result of a smaller space to work with, but we were in line for 15 min for elephant ride, when the announcement came to go back to seats... We turned in our ticket and bailed. Wasn't really communicated well that there'd be an intermission event, otherwise we'd try and get tickets for that before the show. One other little thing... We had tickets ('best available' on the website), but there were huge chunks of the sections 116-117-118 that had empty seats, and that was weird given how crammed the other side was. I guess those were reserved for groups who never showed up or bought tickets, but since the ring master and the event directed their attention to a half empty side versus a full side, it felt a little bogus. We switched seats at intermission, but I reckon better planning would have enabled 'best available' would actually be the 'best available.' Otherwise, the kids loved it.

This was a smaller circus with some talented performer and great animals. My boys (ages 2 and 3) really enjoyed some parts however they were bored during transition periods and the quieter acts. The one thing that absolutely made me give this 3 stars instead of 4 was the amount of overpriced merchandise pushing that went on at this event. Now, of course I expected that we'd buy some cheap plastic toys and glow sticks, maybe some popcorn and cotton candy- but the vendors were LITERALLY handing toys to my kids then demanding money from me! I was left to either let my kids start screaming and make a scene when we were sitting front row and center or pay $15 per plastic toy that broke halfway home. Now keep in mind we paid a little over $100 for front row floor seats for this event for 4 people (myself, my husband, and our 2 kids)- and spent WELL over $100 once we got inside. Everything cost extra so don't let the cheap tickets fool you. Bottom line, it was a fun event for the kids and I know the proceeds go to a good cause, I was prepared to spend some money but next time I'll be prepared to either spend more or not go!

The circus itself was great as well as the Cedar Park Center. The main downfall was the huge emphasis on the merchandise being sold within the area. I completely get that this is a money making operation but I was probably approached a minimum of 15 times to purchase a light sword. I felt slightly harassed because they were all different people pushing these products. I was having a hard time manaing my 3 year old twins when every couple of minutes we were being asked to buy something. We still spent plenty of money on "extras" but the frequency of these sellers was excessive.

I wasn't too enthusiastic going in after reading a few reviews on the site, however I was very pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the circus. This was our first time going, me and my 10 year old daughter. The circus did provide 3 rings of entertainment throughout of the show. At times there was so much going on we weren't sure where to look first. They had a little bit of everything and then some - tigers, elephants, rope dancers, tight rope artists, etc. The one thing I would agree with other reviewers is that they do push a lot of product on your throughout the show, at times sometimes even messing up our view of the show. Also, just a note if you show up for the pre-party be sure to bring extra cash if you want to ride an elephant, camel, ponies, take a picture with a snake or get your face painted. Even most of the vendors were cash only so be sure to plan ahead. But overall I would recommend the show, we had a great time.

The Cedar Park Center outside of Austin, was absolutely the best! They had a friendly staff and an extremely clean arena. The Shrine Circus we went to see was even better! We have seen the ringling brothers circus too and this one surpasses everything about the ringling one! The show was absolutely phenomenal !!! They had a great show, funny acts, amazing tricks and impressive stunts! They were awesome! We WILL BE RETURN CUSTOMERS FOR SURE!!!!

I guess I will never again go to a circus. They call it a three ring circus than they only perform in two out of the three rings. I bought a floor seat but I did not know that the ring where I would sit would not be used. Floor seats are not cheap. The third ring was mostly used by the Ringmaster to announce the acts and people from the Shrines. My grandchildren were bored most of the time. Hawkers were constantly standing in my view trying to sell light sabers and other toys. The ringmaster spoke so loud that it became garbled over the speakers. I guess PETA and other animal organizations have done there job at destroying entertainment. There were very few animal acts with very few animals. There were only a few elephants, one dog, and a couple tigers. One trapeze artist fell into the net and one tightrope walker fell and caught his self. The show was cheaply made, with second rate performers. Even the clowns were not in full makeup. The clown costumes were poor and there were no white faces or large red noses. There was only one clown act that I can remember and it was a boring car wash act. All three rings and the floor was set up during intermission. There were ticket booths. The camels, elephants and ponies were all brought in to give $8.00 rides, one lap around a small ring. More money for nothing. This circus should be called a carnival except you can have more fun with less money at a carnival.

This was our third year in a row and probably our last. Everything is so expensive and it gets really old that they continually push more stuff to the kids throughout the show. Also 2 1/2 hours is just too long to keep kids entertained unless you do more stunts like the motorcycles which I was sad to see taken out of the show.

Kids will surely love it. But many times we observed that the circus participants are not comfortable and they themselves are scared of doing some feats. Overall, this is a good entertainment. One major hole I observed is, they are more inclined towards selling goods. So, many items appeared as if they are advertisements of the toys being sold in the auditorium.

We've been to the circus many times and this was the absolute worst experience. The acts were amateur and the amount of times they tried selling "souvenirs" was ridiculous. Even when the ring master was introducing the acts they would try to sell stuff. I've never been to a circus or event that did what they did. Parents all around us were dumb-founded by what they were doing. Never again will we go to the Shrine Circus.

Great circus experience! Fewer clowns that I had remembered; very pricey to have face painted or ride the elephant, camel or ponies and they didn't take credit/debit cards but overall a terrific experience. The acts were very professional although a few too many little dance segments. Our 5 year old grandson loved every bit of it!

My family and our friends (3 families total) all went to the 11am show at the Cedar Park Center and it was not very great. We purchased the early bird tickets in the general admissions section, and we could barely see the first half of the show. The second half seemed a bit better, but we all decided to leave early anyways as it was already exhausting entertaining our children... since the circus did not do a great job of that. The early bird tickets seemed like a steal at the time, but I quickly realized that if you are going to this circus, you need to sit in very specific seats to enjoy the show... otherwise, forget it. I felt constantly harassed to purchase merchandise for the kids, and i'm not sure if it's because we went to the 11 am show, but on top of not being able to see anything, the show itself seemed very disorganized. ALSO, you can come an hour early to the show to ride some of the animals, and hang out on the stage... it, too, was very disorganized. my husband and older son went to ride the elephant ($15 a person!!! NOT cheap) and waited in line the entire hour, and right when they were going to get on, they ran out of time and everyone had to go to their seats. obviously, this sucked. turns out, you could try again during intermission, and then after the show. it was a great idea, but it would have been nice to know all that before we bought the tickets. we were very unhappy. OH, and since it was 11 am, a great deal of seats were empty in other areas... but don't try to grab a better seat, cuz they'll shoo you away to what you paid for. i get that, but come on... NO ONE was sitting in ENTIRE sections that would have made the show much more enjoyable for many! ugh, it was a disaster.

The show itself was good for the most part. There were too many filler acts that were pretty boring. Not enough acts with animals. There was lots to do during the pre show but everything was overpriced! They seriously want to charge you $10 to take a picture with your own camera of the white tiger and snake! For $10 they should be printing a picture for me! The lady who did my child's face painting was very rude. We asked her if she could do clown face paint and she said in a rude tone that she didn't do that. I mentioned that I saw another child with it, did she know where I could get it done and she just restated that she didn't do that. We've been to many circuses and have never had such a poor experience :(

We took our 4 year old granddaughter to the 3:00 circus event and loved it. Even though the Cedar Park Center is not a hurge arena, all of the acts were very impressive. Some of the older traditional type acts were slow and not that interesting. The speaker's volume on the microphone when I went was very low. Some of the acts didn't seem like they were very well rehearsed. The magicians from America's got talent was good. The group of guys that were acrobatic and jumping over things, each other and jumping rope were good. The elephants and horses were good. The guy getting shot out of the canon was good but his pre shot routine was drawn out and boring. The dancers were not very entertaining and just seemed like cheerleaders that barely knew the routine. I wanted the Tigers to be good and they were ok maybe bc I had to high of expectations for such a marvelous creatures! They did the routine that was done better than the dancers but it was just boring. There was only one funny clown and no pies thrown!!! The elephant dog was funny but the string yoyo type act was ok. The ladder balancing was alright as well but the shrine clowns was not very good. The worst part of the whole experience were the vendors who kept walking around during the acts getting in the way trying to peddle the expensive low end junk!! I am trying to watch the show and you keep getting in my way asking me to buy a $15 piece of junk light up toy or $5 slushy or $5 bag of popcorn!! Your prices are ridiculous and it was worse bc you kept getting in my way!!! Just go outside and peddle out there or just stand in the entry way or something. If someone wants to buy the junk they will go to you. The motorcycles riding in the ball was good how ever. Overall it was an ok experience nothing worth bragging about. The horses were good too. Why are the camels and small ponies there for rides and pictures during intermission? Can't they be incorporated into an act ?

Not worth the money, circus by itself is so-so, the only good part is the motorbike stunt and the canon. The expense just begins with the tickets. The annoying addon expenses are the likes of ridiculous parking fee of $10, and the various souvenirs and food etc which the tens of vendors bring it to the hands and mouth of kids all the time, so you will end up buying, such a distraction. They waste a lot of time giving breaks before and in the middle of show, total of about 1 hour trying to make as much money as possible in bounce houses, picture with snake, pony ride, etc., These events are in some farmers market, you don't have to pay and go to circus to do this. They stretch a 1.5 hour show to about 3.5 hours. Total waste of money. You go with 2 kids, and you end up spending $200 more.

you can tell it is ran by the older generation. No offense, but the entertainment between acts was really corny - the DJ was really bad. Transitions not smooth at all. The gentleman that was the Emcee was also not good at all, more annoying than anything else. The clown skits were 'sweet', and not in a good way - but because it was narrated by an 80 year old lady. Overall - really lacked entertainment value. The show felt 'tired and unorganized' at every turn. Would not suggest unless you have really young kids or if you expect a mediocre circus. It needs new management and talent scouting for the transition act and a new DJ. Can't emphasize enough how poorly the music and transitions were handled.

I thought the Circus and all of the act were great!...Maybe lacked some funny /silly clown acts, but I am guessing that maybe clown have been proven scarey to kids. What I did think was crazy ...was after paying more than 80 dollars for 2 tickets...it was also 15 to ride elephant, 10 to ride camels, 8? to ride ponies and $6 for a blow up slide!! I can understand chanrgin, but seriously!! I am OK with it because it is for a charity, but i would imagineit would put a lot of parents in a difficult spot since there was NO posting , that I say, on the way in with the prices of the rides. YOu just walked into the Big Top and there they were, with parents asking kids if they wanted to ride...and NO prices posted until you got down there and found there was a charge and you had to buy tickets!... I understand charging, but i would just like to be given fair warning... PS...the program schedule was VERY inaccurate! We still have fun, but for me and my grandson it was 140.00 (inculding parking) and not including popcorn and a hot dog! ( would expect the food to be expensive). I am a grandmother, but how could a family of 4 ever afford that!?

The Shriners know how to put on a show. Much better than the other circus venues we have seen. They also cater to the kids with the animal rides. Every kid that wants to ride, gets to ride. My negatives were minor and I would not rank it any less than amazing. I wish the performers played to both sides of the stadium. The elephants only faced away from us so we got lots of elephant butt shots. We arrived late because the starting time during the week was 11:30, but 11:00 on the weekends and it confused us thinking it did not start until 11:30. But that was my fault. All the souvenirs and blink lights were very expensive. I can only hope that profit went to the shriners which would make it ok for me. I did buy some blink toys from amazon and took them with us because our money is tight and we could not afford much. The souvenir guys were kind of in your face about selling their stuff. But all that stuff is minor, and we really will be back again and again. Hats off to the shriners!

we had lots of fun. we got floor seats so it was very exciting to have the motorcycles go over our heads. but i do recomend getting your seats in the middle or you will miss part of the show cause they had 3 rings or plataforms and so we were across from one but couldnt really see the other 2 I guess do to the fact that we were on the floor.

This truly is "The Greatest Show on Earth"! From the opening act, through the entire show we were amazed by each performance. I have never seen so much talent by so many performers all in one show! We are so glad that we went to this event!

I took my 6-year-old for her first trip to the circus and she loved it! Liked that it was a smaller venue and LOVED the fact that she had three different opportunities to go down on the arena floor to ride the animals (or rather, to work up the courage to ride the animals!) Although, for $10 I thought she should have had more than 2 trips around one of the rings. But she thought it was awesome and that's the most important thing! Will definitely go back!

My grandson is 3 yrs old. His favorite was the elephant ride. He rode it twice!! He was captivated for most of the performance. He got tired near the end of the circus because we attended the 7:30 p.m. show. I would definately recommend this event to others.

Attend the Shrine Circus with my family. Other than the parking fiasco and show starting an hour late, it was a great time. Cedar Park Center parking is expensive (no free parking that we could find), and the lack of access to the lots created a huge back up. Thank goodness for valet parking. The valet folks were super courteous, and it was totally worth the extra $5. The show is an "old school" circus. Not as fancy as the Ringling Bros., but I prefer it that way. Very nostalgic. If you can get floor seats, it is the way to go! Many shameless plugs to sell souvenirs-- light sticks, stuffed toys, etc., so bring lots of cash-- or lots of tissues for your kids' tears.

Everything was to expensive. Vendors in my face constantly. Horrible acts. Alot of singing and dancing. Animal acts where lame and boring. Outfits for women entertainers where not appropriate for little kids. My 5 year old was so bored we left half way through. Very sad to say but we will not be returning.

My family had a wonderful time at the circus. We took our son there in honor of his all A honor roll and it motivated him to get all A's again so that we can go again. My husband and I had been to the circus in over 20 years. This circus took us back to our child years and made us remember what it was about the circus that we loved so much.

There was not a single surprise in the entire performance. Everything was so predictable and stale. Before the show and during intermission, kids could ride ponies or camels for $10, and elephant rides were $20! None of the rides lasted more than a couple of minutes. The only apparent reason for intermission was to sell these rides, along with face painting and photos with some of the animals, which cost $10! All the refreshments were $5.00, the least expensive thing you could purchase. After the tiger show, the guys selling refreshments predictably came out in force with stuffed tigers for sale. This accomplished two things: they got in the way of you trying to watch the show, and they got all the little kids wound up, who pestered their parents to buy a stuffed tiger. The only exciting part was the guy shot out of the cannon, which came at the end of the show. So, since the best is saved for last, they apparently agreed.

Circus was great especially for the kids. Ticket processing is unsatisfactory having to wait 48 hours prior it is impossible to deliver the tickets to everyone attending. We will not do this again.

This is our 3rd year attending the circus and it is a fun event. The acts are good and the show goes on without any pause. The clowns are so fun and easy to meet. As with most children's events the volume of the music is so loud our 4 year must wear ear plugs.

Sitting in small seats watching a minor league Spanish circus was not what I was expecting. I didn't approve of how some of the animals cowered in front of their owners. My 5 and 9 year old were ready to leave after the first half. Spend your money on something else.

The show was average at best. Some of the reviews here was so negative that we went with very low expectations. It was certainly better than that. One person had whined a lot about not being 3 ring and not being able to see and no motorcycle ride in the sphere etc., My guess is he must have gone to some other show - because this one had it all. Overall, the most annoying things were: 1) Peddlers - who would on purpose block your view. They were annoying enough to consider not coming to the show again. And the peddlers are part of the Shrine Circus - so no excuses to have them not be there. 2) "3 ring" - you can practically watch only one ring. So you had to choose which one you wanted to see. The better process would have been to have the talented folks come one after the other so their effort wouldn't have been wasted. 3) Utterly nauseating smell. None of the animals have been washed since birth. The good things were: 1) The kids enjoyed it. At least our 8 year old did. And 10 year not as much as the smell bothered him a lot. 2) I am calling it average as I am comparing it to other circus that I have seen in other countries like India. Compared to that, this is probably 10% as good. But then again, I do not know if there is anything better to look for here. There wasn't even a real trapeze act like I recall seeing in my childhood days.

The venue is very nice. The Shriners volunteering were charming. The Ben Hur circus is great!! Everything it should be. The entertainers were friendly to us and seemed to be enjoying each other's company, and, of course, highly skilled. We'll come back next year!

Sure, it's a circus. Just not the stereotypical one I had pictured in my mind. And the "free pass" for kids is not actually free. It's BOGO free; you have to buy it ahead of time, online (but that isn't printed ANYwhere on the pass. OR on the website). But I won't get started on that fiasco. Yes, there were exotic animals, many amazing balancing acts, and numerous very well trained dogs, horses, and even pigs! I was shocked by the skimpy female clown outfits and the choices of music... I understand trying to appeal to an older audience, but I'm pretty sure most of us go to the circus for our kids. I don't consider myself to be overly modest, but I certainly try to protect my young daughters from the over sexualization we so frequently see in society. I absolutely wasn't expecting to see this issue at a family circus. My kids had fun (even though they didn't get to jump in the bounce house for 5 mins - only $6 each!). Once at this circus was enough for us, we won't take them again.

As a whole the circus wasn't very enjoyable. I can count two moments that the circus was cute, funny and exciting - the motorcycle madness and the puppy dressed up like an elephant (although I felt the performer was rough on the puppy in the elephant costume). For a ten year old, of which I rate the totality of the event, it was not enjoyable.

We took our granddaughters to this circus and was excited at the idea of going to a circus again ourselves. It had been years since we had been. The circus itself had some good acts, but I must say I was not pleased with the hawking of toys constantly to anyone with a child. We purchased some beautiful light up butterflies for your girls as we were entering, only to discover they would be constantly selling more and more items through the whole show. It was a bit distracting even though our girls understood we were not purchasing anything else. The entertainment was good but the whole show was a bit long. Our 5 year old was wanting to leave at intermission. They could have done without the intermission really because the show moved along at a steady pace and the interest was held as they transitioned from one act to the other. All in all it was a good show and they loved it. I hope we created some memories they will have for a long time to come.

The outfits were a little risque for a child's circus and I felt some of the acts and music didn't seem to fit the appropriate age group of the intended audience, especially since it's normally geared for a younger crowd. We were a bit disappointed that there were more "acts" then true circus performances. We were hoping for tightrope acts or more difficult acrobats, rather, it was basically girls swinging on swings and girls just dancing around.

It was surprisingly good. Last time we went to the Shrine Circus we got free tickets for a donation and it was so so. This time it was a marked improvement all around. The first half was a bit slow, but the second half was spectacular. Loved the elephants, dogs, camels, the human cannonball, and the motorcycle daredevils. My favorite is was Minina and her stuffies. Never expected what I saw. Too funny. Intermission was a bit long and understand it's a fundraiser, but we didn't get out until almost 11pm.

This event was terrific for kids of all ages to see. My 20 month old was hugely engaged the entire time despite his scheduled nap time which was during the show hours. My 5 year old could not get enough. I can't wait for the circus to come again next year:) The Cedar Park Center was a great place to see a show. Parking was easy and getting in and out of the event was so convenient. We are from Chicago where getting in and out of the United Center was always a nightmare!

The show was very good, but could have been shorter if you take out some of the fluff, like the dancing and dog in the elephant skit. The cannon ball and motor bikes were awesome. We were expecting trapeze and would have enjoyed that, but overall it was great.

Was a little loud and got sick of concession people walking in front me when I paid the extra for floor seats, they actually used my aisle as an alley so wouldn't have to walk around crowd on floor was pretty rude. But the circus itself was quite entertaining and animals were great and there was plenty to keep kids busy looking around and interested. Enjoyed the event with my family.
