HER SHOWS ARE BECOMING DATED. NEED FRESHENING UP. I LOVE ANITA AND HER MUSIC BUT SHE NEED SOME NEW MATERIAL. AND HER STAGE PRESENCE IS NOT QITE LIKE THE OLD DYNAMIC ANITA. THE WEATHER MAYBE THE CAUSE OF SOME OF THIS. IT IS HARD TO BE AT YOUR BEST WHEN IT IS POURING DOWN RAINING.

I really enjoyed being at Chastain Park....It rained and when I say rained I mean the bottom fell out...Don't get me wrong i like Anita, but she was tired after the 3rd song....??? She was ready to end the concert at 9 30...For what me and I am sure other paid to see her, she could performed a little longer. We would not have minded a intermission. I will buy whatever she put out, but I will NEVER go see her in concert again. I guess she was saving herself for the essence awards. I really feel we got cheated.

I have absolutely nothing but praise for the talents of Ms. Anita Baker, she has been and will remain one of my favorite performers. Her talent is immeasurable and she is extremely sexy and appealing. That being said the experience however was less than pleasurable because of the incessant rain. After spending nearly $200 on a pair of tickets I didn't expect an evening of Monsoons. After getting totally drenched and ruining my new outfit it was difficult to enjoy the show even after the rain subsided. However I will always love Anita Baker and she remains totally blameless.

Anita's performance was great!! However, it did rain that night, so i assume that is why her show was rather short. but then again it did not start on time. (at the time it was posted to start it was not raining, but i think there was some technical difficulties with sound equipment and lights.) But even with all of the elements of nature, my friends and I had a wonderful time!!! Chastain Park has the most beautiful ambience!! I only wish that her performance could have been longer. I did not hear some of my favorite songs. Also, before the show, Anita's songs were being played overhead in the park. I thought that was weird, since we would be listening to her "live" in just a few minutes. I think the crowd would have liked to hear Michael Jackson's music. (or anybody else's for that matter.)!

She started late and with the Chastain curfew, that means a shorter than necessary concert. The rain was not her fault, but if she had started closer to time we would have had more concert before the downpour. There was no opening act so we heard every Anita Baker song at least once so that by the time she came on it was almost anticlimactic. Overall, I would have to say that I have attended many MUCH BETTER concerts. (And by the way, Anita, 51 is not that old)

It rained "cats" and "dog" making it a bit difficult to hear the singing over the rain. Also, since Chastain does not have covered seating, everyone crowded in one area until the rain stopped--it was hot and muggy. I thought Anita Baker was ok. She still has a good voice but I just can't believe a singer who has not developed any new hits should command such high ticket prices (i.e., $70 plus)--not exactly the same caliber as Michael Jackson. All in all, it was ok. I liked the girl in my younger days but now that I am older she nearly puts me to sleep and the crowded venue didn't bring much solace.

Anita Baker was fantastic. Her voice was crystal clear and as sassy and sultry as I always remembered. She was stunning and her vocal style was reminiscent of a small blues club. The Chastain Ampitheatre was transformed into a small intimate jazz like club. Through the storms, terrential rain and loss of every technical capability aside from the sound she drew us in like friends sipping coffee at a kitchen table. I was mesmerized and transported back to a time in my basement listening to my component set. " I apologize swept me away."

I really enjoyed the concert. It helped that it was at Chastain--the perfect venue for Anita Baker. Anita came out on stage with her band and ripped it up! She sang all the fav's and it was such a joy to see her really enjoying her own music. The band was great. She didn't have the glitz and wardrobe changes as artists think they need to have nowadays. She was just Anita! She opened for Maxwell but I could've left right after her and been totally satisfied.

She still got it. Her energy was contagious. She sang the songs that I wanted to hear and also took some advice from the fans. I think her performance was exactly 1.5 hrs. The audience was in unison with Anita as she sang. There were people dancing and swaying to her love songs. There were hands in the air that waved to the beat. There were kissing and carrassing in the aisle. And this was not due to the aaaa achohol. She was one with the audience and whether or not she was acting she generally acted like she wanted to give the audience the "best that she got". I will definitely continue to see her. The audience was a mixer of all ages. One drawback the concert didn't start on time. Each time a promoter would come out and say one more minute. But the minutes turned into almost an hour. My tickets stated 6:00pm but Anita came on around 8:25pm. Some people in the audience were told that she was due to appear at 7:00 others said 7:30 and 8:00pm. You could tell that the audience was getting alittle agitated. But all-in-all the event was spectacular.

I am a huge Anita Baker fan. I have been listening to her music since I was a kid. Now as a 33 year old woman, that has been through some things, her music resonates with me even more. Her voice was flawless and smooth. She took song requests from the audience, which performers never do. SOmetimes you leave a show wishing they had sung YOUR favorite song. It was a refreshing change of pace. I would absolutely go see her again. It was a great show. She hasn't aged a bit. She looked like she enjoyed being there, which made it even more special. From the moment she gracefully took control of the stage to her final, "see ya next year" Anita Baker was simply still amazing. Her wit and charm mezmorized the audience from start to finish. Her vocals seem to mature and become better each year as her audiences seem to grow with new fans from a younger and younger era. A sea of lights filled the area as Ms Baker ran from one end of the stage to the other refusing to be denied the love she clamored. "I see the lights" she sang sounding like a wonderful child. "give me the lights" she sang. She called the lights "love" from the audience and we gave her just what she wanted over and over and over again. As the show began to wind down she asked the familiar question, "What do ya want me to sing?" The shouts rang out this song and that song. Finally a gentleman from the audience clearly caught up in the rapture of this artist screamed, "What ever you want" She tossed a sultry smile in his direction and pleasantly obliged. And sing she certainly did. Saying her good nights she exited the stage with the fans on their feet demanding, "Give us more! Give us more!" She returned and gave her fans just what they wanted...More and then more. Soon it was over, for real and she was gone. She didn't neglect us neither were we denied the pleasure of her lyrical kisses or the pleasure of her sultry stylings. As the people began to leave the area I said within my self. "This is the best concert I have ever been to" But then again, don't I say that every year? -wink- Good night Ms Baker ....where ever you are......see ya next year.

She performance live just as well as she does in studio (which is very rare these days). I only wish she had more time. I felt she wanted to stay on stage just much as the crowd hated to see her leave the stage. I hope she will honor Orange county with another performance very soon.

AB was in rare form!!! This was my third time seeing her and she did not disappoint!!! But the Pacific Amphitheatre was another story--from the "lack of visible signs saying 'Pacific Amphitheatre' or 'Anita Baker Tonight'" to the "5th grade auditorium seating" to the "lack of the use of a Jumbotron" or the "2 mile forced march from my parking spot", let's say--it wasn't "My Everything".

3rd time round and Anita still delivers a powerful and magical performance. Her dazzle doesn't fade any! (even with the downpour we endured)

Of all the concerts where I have seen Anita Baker perform, this was THE BEST ONE! I never heard her sing like this . . . with such a vocal range, clear lyrics, and power. But, most of all, she showed so much grace and humility. I was done after her opening number! OMG! We could have listened to her sing for another hour. If this is her farewell performance, she was "giving 'us' the best that 'she' got"!

We all had the best time during her concert! She started about 30 minutes late but that was just fine because the traffic to get in was packed. We didn't miss a thing. She came on stage jammin' to Lady Marmelade and rocked it! I sat directly behind Fantasia and her hubby (another great treat!). The icing on the cake is when she brought Fantasia onstage and they both jammed. Love both singers!!

I grew to love her all because my mom loved her. From stealing my mothers cassette tapes of her albums to buying the CD's as an adult. She was on my list of people to see. I saw her in New Orleans and she was breath taking! Her voice was just like brand new. I am thinking about going to see her in another city Just Because. If you want your monies worth for a legend, I say go see Anita Baker!

I've been dying to see Anita & tried to get tickets at earlier dates. I was finally able to secure tickets for Ravinia in Illinois & she was phenomenal. If you are lucky enough to get tickets its definitely worth the money. I drove from Cleveland to Chicago to see her.

We left before it ended. We didn't pay 125.00 per ticket for the audience to serenade Anita. Karaoke 2.0. I knew it was going to be a bad night when Anita stepped on stage with a ponytail in her hair. Worst show I have seen in my lifetime. For those giving her 5 stars, they either had to be drinking or they have never seen what a good show looks like. Sad...... Yes, I have seen Anita perform in the past. Ths didn't even compare.

WE (ATLANTA) LOVED ON HER, ANITA DIRECTED THE AUDIENCE WHILE WE SUNG TO HER. ...PPL DIDNT WANT TO LEAVE, I WAS SITTING IN THE BACK WITH MY BINOCULARS - HOPING NO ONE ASKED TO SEE THEM- I DIDNT WANT TO MISS A BEAT, SKIP, FACIAL EXPRESSION ETC.... LOVE HER ( WHEN SHE ASKED, WHAT WOULD WE LIKE TO HEAR - I'M SCREAMING IN THE BACK " FEEL THE NEED IN ME". I DIDNT GET MY WISH BUT I WAS STILL HAPPY!!!!

I never been to a concert when the audience serenaded the artist making the artist start the song over and finally she asked what we wanted her to sing. It was a awesome experience. Of course it was too short but I would not have missed Atlanta on a Friday night.

Anita Baker gave an excellent concert last night! Her voice is impeccable and she still sound the same from the 80s and 90s. If you get a chance to experience her farewell tour, do so! You won t regret it. It was my best concert ever!

I see some folks commenting about her singing 5 songs or so.......NOT! it was more like 10 then she exited the stage as MANY performers do to allow the crowd to go wild then came back & performed another 5 songs or so... I guess some people aren't used to classy/classic events but this is the normalcy when I see mature performers. To quote my friend "she sounds just like her original records 30 years ago......ANITA STILL HAS IT.... and regarding the sound checks they're correct she kept having them adjust it but to me that was partly because of the audience trying to sing over her, she wanted FANS to hear HER... even during that time she was classy & sang the instructions to them, made it much more personal to me........She IS a MUST SEE! I left jax & headed to Miami for another great performance byt her & will see her again several times before this year ends.

Anita Baker still has her vocals. This was a sold out show. However, her stage presence wasn't on point at this performance. She talked a lot. Sound and lighting crew messed up her set. She complained the smoke was harming her vocals. She sung maybe 5 or 6 songs then ended her show. I guess the promoter asked her for a few more songs. She returned to the stage and sung about 2 or 3 more songs. I will always be a fan, but Anita's performance needs some polishing.

The Anita Baker concert was amazing! Although she had a couple of technical difficulties with the guys backstage, she sung the directions to them so beautifully. She sung every hit song, and she even sung Body and Soul acapella. I know this was her "farewell tour" but I hope that she does one more go round!
