Even though I paid for a premium seat. The way the band was situated on stage, I could not see the celloist at all or the drummer for the most part. Relying on the big screens. Which I thought was extremely poor stage planning. Jeff Beck again proved his worth as a Jazz guitarist. Always worth the experience even if it's just the one time that you see him play.

3100 fans from 12 to 70 what more can you say, Oh, two encores. I have been going to show all over the country since 1966 and this was one of the best. Jeff Beck is a true artist, he doesn't just play guitar, he makes the guitar talk and come to life. It was well worth the wait and if I ever get a chance will go to see him again and again.

So there he was...Jeff Beck...rock god....at exactlty 9PM sauntering out onto the stage...Cool!.....we were like 20 feet from the stage, to the left of the stage, watching his backside while he played, but what the heck....20 feet away. Occasionally he'd turn around and glance our way...crowd goes crazy!!..haha!ha!....I'm not sure what song he started with..I think I recognized Freeway Jam.....He did 'People Get Ready...'Wanna Take you higher'.....Naranda Michael Walden the drummer is awesome....His bass player was awesome...he had a couple of keyboardist..they were cool....He did 'Somewhere over the Rainbow', and after the second encore he played 'Goodbye Pork Pie Hat'...my favorite song he does...thank you... Overall, it was very cool!!....Packed hose...

long story short.... ALL MUSICIANS must immediately turn in their instruments! They must turn them over to the THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE.....to be disposed in the Vacant Foundries in Pittsburgh & melted down into other viable chunks of metal to be utilized for by Crucible Sculptress into other viable ART FORMS. This wasn't music, it was some other ENTITY that just came alive and enveloped me......at other concerts you only hear notes and beats.....this was another beast.....like a musical damn BLOB......... There is no comparison in modern times! After going through every emotion known to man in the first three songs i was thereafter emotionally drained. My brain froze went into distant memories. His hands were playing on parts of the fret board designed for LOW sounds and I am hearing hummingbirds! His hand is on the frets for the high notes & I am hearing Whale songs. Chords were making me laugh out loud like I was at Robin Williams morphing into Mork....flat out mime jokes.......but the most amazing aspect....was the music penetrating my damn bones....like a Detroit's January Wind Chilled Northerly....but NOT JUST THAT.....& with an UPSHOT energy drink... I actually felt the notes in my fingertips...the very tips of my fingers were vibrating & tingling & stinging (yup stinging like a Pete Townsend Windmill!)at the same frequency as the notes....the exact frequency as the notes! I have NEVER had that happen in my life! At first I was like thinking it was just a nerve thing....and then i just listened to my body respond & it was REAL! If I wasn't innately holy I would have freaked out....... Oh.....and smoked my cigar before the concert at a bus stop on Broadway......got up.....walked a block.....and who was getting out of their car.....none other than TAL! i came about 10 feet from her.....closer than anyone was in the concert.....she was with some guys so i left her alone......so she wouldn't be bugged by some crazed fan! We were standing on the same corner! I was just thinking I would run into her.....like someone mentioned on his web site blog the other day.....i had just read that....and it was happening to me.....this fan ran into Tal right before the show right outside the place.....it foretold what i was about to experience.......pure chance?! I don't think so! WOW! I am converted!

In the last few years I've seen Jeff Beck at Toyota Park, the Chicago Theatre and the Park West in Chicago. He's a enthralling live guitar virtuoso who seamlessly masters and fuses jazz fusion, hard rock, blues and electronica musical genres. He can coax, caress and strangle a universe of sounds from his fender stratocaster. His fingers and fretboard must be hardwired to his heart and soul. "A Day In The Life", "Where WEre You", "Beck's Bolero", "Angel" and "Brush With The Blues Are Great Live Songs." Jeff Beck belies age and is still in his vintage prime.

The first time i saw Jeff Beck was in Houston. I sat on the edge of the stage in disbelief! Rod S. was his lead singer. The club was a no drinking teenage club were everyone went to dance. Well, when Beck and the band started the whole room never moved. We had ourselves a real show and what a show it was. Few, few players can come close to Beck's playing much less style. This happened some forty years ago and i remember it like last night. Miss this one ha,, shame on you.................. R.J. Waco Tx.

Wasn t sure who was opening and closing. It ended up Ann Wilson, then Jeff Beck, and finally Paul Rogers. I know I went for Jef Beck, but the other two acts were good. Ann Wilson still has a great voice. Paul Rogers still has a great voice for his age, but it s cracking. Three thumbs up.

Great seats at a great brand new venue for a great show by a very legendary artist. Concert experience of a lifetime. VIP upgrades offered at this Venue is posh and enhanced the whole experience. However I was somewhat put off by the many upsells and switch n baits when obtaining a VIP experience. Every perk is sold seperately and by different entities at different levels. Seems VIP is over marketed by all. The parking, the entry, the lounge are all ala-carte. Be sure to get the Venue VIP lounge for a cool laid back California casual concert experience. Oh... and YES JEFF BECK GUITAR VIRTUOSO from 3rd row helps make it event of a lifetime!

The Masonic is a great venue! Great acoustics and ease of access from Union Square Hotels and Parking... this billing was a spectacular pairing with these two guitar legends plus Buddy Guy's old friend Carlos Santana came out for a song with Buddy! Jeff's band for this show was one of the best I've seen from him and I've seen him many many times! The new record "Lound Hailer" features prominently in the set list and the tunes are excellent! Amazingly vital and relevant to the 21st century... however not to worry he also played material from his whole career including Shapes of Things and Morning Dew from Truth as well as Freeway Jam from Blow by Blow and longstanding staple A Day in the Life. The set featured Rosie Bones doing vocals from the new album and Jimmy Hall (Wet Willie) singing on the Jeff Beck Group Classics!

Wonderful guitar performance. The base, drums and other support guitarist were all excellent. The blues singers were good but I wish he did his old guitar instrumental music more without singers and that's the reason that I gave him 4 starts, not 5 His new album 'Loud Halier' with the blues singers recently came out but I don't think I'm gonna buy this one.

OMG, an incredible show! I caught enough free shows this year that I splurged on this one, and treated myself to Jeff's VIP package. Which for me, meant the front row seat. Catching the sound check before the show was nice. But Jeff doesn't do a meet-&-greet, pose for pictures, or sign stuff (it seems the bigger the star, the less fan interaction on these VIP things). But again, I mainly wanted the front row seat. I've seen Jeff four times before (the last was maybe seven years ago), but I've never been within 25 rows of the stage. I blew off the show in Boston last year, and after reading the reviews in the paper a day or two later, had 'blow off remorse' (that'll happen when the review describes the artist as the greatest guitarist working today ... though in my personal opinion, I give that spot to Steve Howe). Jeff is getting up there in age (he's 72); but still plays an incredible guitar! On one level, Jeff reminds me of a friend and former supervisor who somehow always had very attractive women on his team. Its the same way with Jeff and his band. I noticed that trend when Tal Wilkenfeld used to be his bass player. And the trend continues, as Rosie Bones (vocals), Rhonda Smith (bass), and Carmen Vandenberg (guitar) were all most fine (Carmen is a real cutie!). Oh, and VERY talented musicians as well. Anyway, great to hear a couple songs from Blow By Blow (my favorite Jeff Beck CD): Freeway Jam and Cause We Ended As Lovers. But the highlight, of course, was the anticipated encore cover of A Day In The Life. And got to catch the encore standing in front of the stage. Most of the time (for a rock show) Foxwoods lets the people in the first five rows vacate their seats and watch the show in the open area right up front ... but its up to the artist. Last night, it was only allowed for the encore. And 'oh yeah', after I bought my ticket, it was announced that the great Buddy Guy would be on the bill as well! I've seen Buddy maybe a dozen times before; the act doesn't change much from year to year, but always a great show (it's almost not fair to call him an 'opening act')!

Buddy Guy opened and did a tight set with John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters tributes. Great as usual. Invited his 12 year old prodigy on stage to play at the end. He was unbelievable (Brandon N.) Jeff Beck played a ton off his new album which I really like plus some classics. Played some Sam Cooke, Beatles, Stevie Wonder. Great singers with him on old and new. He and Buddy played one together. Had the place rocking. Great concert by all.

Both Mr Guy & Mr Beck showed tiredness in their last half hour albeit Mr Beck's set was much longer than Guy's. Buddy still has the chops to entertain & did. Mr. Beck has found his sound that I believe he was searching for. It works. He can show all the colors of any note through his guitar mastery and he can drive those thundering chords to the heavens. Always tasty melodically & harmonically. Jeff Beck is a unique musician period.

The Chicago Theatre welcomed guitar icon Jeff Beck back to it's stage on May 21, 2015. Beck's career spans 6 decades, going back to 1965 with the Yardbirds. This night showed Beck covering all of those eras. Jeff's current touring band consists of Rhonda Smith on Bass, Jonathan Joseph on Drums, Nicolas Meier on Second Guitar and Jimmy Hall on Vocals. The night opened with "Loaded" which featured Beck and Meier laying down a wall of guitars right out of the gate! Following with "Nine" set the mood for the evening: Jeff Beck was here to pull out all the stops! "You Know You Know" was originally done by John McLaughlin and Mahavishnu Orchestra. Beck and his band did an excellent interpretation of the tune, with Beck paying tribute to McLaughlin, as he has stated his admiration for the guitarist many times during his career. Jeff used this tune to show the crowd what his more than capable band can do! Bassist Rhonda Smith stepped up to plate and pulled out a solo that showcased her monster chops. Rhonda's playing is perfect for Beck's music, as she know when to play hard, but also when to lay back. She is, without a doubt, one of the best players on the scene today. While I'm at it, let me say that Jonathan Joseph is also in that league. Good drummers can be hard to find, as again, knowing when to let loose and when to hold back almost seems to be a forgotten art in 2015. Not in the case of this band however! Rhonda and Jonathan pulled out a text book example of what a rhythm section should be this night. Amazing playing all around! "Hammerhead" from 2010's "Emotion & Commotion" brought the show back into a more Rock direction. This tune reminded me that one thing I always loved about Beck is he is constantly reinventing himself and pushing the envelope. Most players that came up during his era have now coasted into their "retirement" years, resting on their laurels and playing it safe by performing the same time tested classics they've become known for. Not Jeff Beck. "Hammerhead" is part of Beck's "techno" recordings that started with 1999's "Who Else." Some of his best work is on these albums, and witnessing his live playing on this tune, he's at the top of his game in 2015. "Morning Dew" was originally covered on Beck's 1968 LP Truth. Most people know Rod Stewart as a 70's pop star, but Stewart actually sang on Truth and was featured on that albums version of "Morning Dew." On this night however, Beck brought out the great Jimmy Hall of Wet Willie fame. Hall has always been a master Vocalist and blended perfectly with what Beck had in mind for Chicago this evening. Hall immediately grabbed the crowds attention with his commanding stage presence, as he not only belted out some great vocals, but worked the crowd perfectly. In typical Beck fashion, the crowd was instantly pulled from 1968 into 2015 with the new "Why Give It Away?" Jimmy Hall also sang this one and it is one of the highlights of Beck's newly released "Live +" album. Another stand out track on the new album and this particular show is the Sam Cooke classic "A Change Is Gonna Come." Once again Hall's Vocals were in top form and a perfect counter to Beck's amazing chordal work and soloing throughout the tune. "Yemin" is a new tune written by second guitarist Nicolas Meier. It leans heavily on middle eastern influence and Meier played a brilliant acoustic solo during the song that proved yet again that Jeff Beck never surrounds himself with mediocre players. Meier has monster chops and wasn't afraid to show them over his great composition. On that note, neither was the master, as Beck once again reminded us that he is always moving forward. I can't name one player from the class of '65 that could fit so easily into a tune like "Yemin." But Beck did it with style and grace. Always pushing the envelope of creativity. Moving up to "Nadia" from Beck's "You Had It Coming" gave us the highlight of the evening. Watching Jeff manipulate volume and tone controls all while working the whammy bar on his Stratocaster is simply spellbinding. His unique approach of constantly grasping the bar while playing with only fingers puts him in a league of his own. When Beck started out, and for many decades, he played with a pick, but again, he keeps reinventing himself to only come back better each time. Indeed the mark of a legend. Other highlights of the evening were Jimi Hendrix' "Little Wing" and Jimmy Hall tearing the house down once again with a cover of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition." Jimmy Hall was amazing for the entire night! The man deserves major credit as he definitely knows the fine art of working a crowd and a stage. For several years now Beck has done an amazing instrumental take on The Beatles "A Day In The life." He played it this night, and it sounded fresh and amazing yet again. He encored with a great version of "Danny Boy" and closed the night with a fitting tribute to a lost legend, playing B.B. King's "The Thrill Is Gone." I've been fortunate enough to see Jeff Beck numerous times over the years and this night was one of his best! He turns 71 on June 24, 2015, and what he brought to Chicago on May 21st was simply the stuff of legends. That's because Jeff Beck IS a legend. His influence crosses many genres including Rock, Blues and Jazz/Fusion. At 71 he is playing at his best. I was lucky enough to be in the Theatre for the sound check this night, and it was interesting to hear how Beck and his band played many of the tunes totally different from how they were played that night for the show. I can't emphasize enough how great it is that he constantly pushes the envelope and reinvents the guitar constantly, never resting on his laurels. Pick up the new album "Live +" as it features many of the tunes he played on this stop in Chicago, with the same line up of Hall, Joseph, Meier and Smith. Thanks for bringing a great night of music to Chicago Jeff!

Super awesome show! The opening acts were pretty good...Jeff Beck definitely did not disappoint. He did Scatterbrain, Cause We've Ended as Lovers, Morning Dew, that Guitar Shop song, Superstition, Going Down, and some other songs of his. Jeff Beck also did some fabulous covers: Jimi Hendrix's Little Wing, the Beatles' A Day in the Life, Cream's Rollin' and Tumblin', a Sam Cooke song that I can't remember the title to, and near the end he gave tribute to BB King by performing The Thrill is Gone. The bass player lady was killer, the drummer was all over it, the other guitar player did a flamingo guitar riff that was very nice, and the singer when called upon could really belt out the vocals. All in all, a positively wonderful experience! The only bad side to the show were the seats' location. One of the supporting columns obstructed our view a little bit, so I would recommend sitting where the view is clear. Check the seating chart before you buy your tickets!

The Jeff Beck show at the RYMAN was absolutely great. Over the years, I have seen Jeff Beck probably around 8 times and he never disappoints. The current line-up of his band was one of the best with Rhonda Smith on bass, Nicholas Meier on Guitar/Synths & Jonathan Joseph on drums. Vocalist Jimmy Hall was included on 5 or 6 songs, but no offense to Jimmy Hall, I would have preferred the inclusion of more classic Beck songs instead of the songs he sang. Still a great show none the less. The Ryman is a great venue with an incredible history, sightlines, sound & lighting. One drawback is the bench/wooden church pew seating. Although part of the Ryman's history & architecture, they were largely uncomfortable. Fortunately I knew this from previous shows so we brought seat cushions with us. GREAT SHOW!!!!

What can you say about a living legend. While the other great guitar players of his era have aged and slowed a bit, Jeff Beck looks the same and if anything his playing is still getting better and better. Humble on stage, he gives his band lots of praise while he just plays beautiful music. Amazing, absolutely amazing. His band - Jimmy Hall on Vocals, Rhonda Smith on bass, Jonathan Joseph on drums and Nicolas Meier on guitar more than hold up there parts. He did a moving tribute to BB King, The Thrill is Gone. First saw Beck walk on stage in 1976 joining the Jan Hammer Group in Mid Set...this was the seventh time Ive seen him and he still blows me away! He started off his set with Spectrum by Billy Cobham...two things about that. I had just seen Billy 2 weeks before do his Spectrum 40 tour, so it was odd seeing a Live rendition of that classic 2 weeks in a row. Next, the original Guitarist on that tune was Tommy Bolin...who was on that Jan Hammer tour with Beck but died in Miami the night before the show I went to. Anyway, Beck soon followed with Birds of Fire by Mahavishnu, and later Little Wing by Hendrix. New drummer Jonathan Moffett was awesome, and Rhonda Smith funked up the proceedings nicely! In lieu of Synths Jeff employed a Violinist, I believe he gets bored with standard instrumentation at times. Brian and the Boys joined him for Vocal harmonies on a few pieces, then combined the Bands for the last part of the show. Always searching, always fresh, flashy yet warm and passionate...don't miss him!!!

Guitar work was amazing as expected, but the drummer, bassist and keyboardist were a fabulous compliment to this (for the most part) instrumental concert...made it much more interesting than if Beck were the only "star" on stage. Interesting selection of tunes...not much "early Beck" at least that I recognized, but good tributes to the Beattles and Hendrix broke things up nicely.

Well, I have seen all the greats (Clapton, Metheny, Santana, Gilmour, Townsend, etc.), and I don't think any of them played as good as good as Jeff. Sure, they all have their distinctive sounds, and their signature moves, but for a "pure guitar experience", this will be hard to beat. No vocals, gimmicks, Jumbotrons, fancy wardrobes, lasers or stage spectacle....just ROCK. The "wow factor" here was the music....plain and simple. And it was not merely a replaying of hits..."People Get Ready" was the only tune that everyone associated with Jeff. Each and every song was special, and the highlights of the night may have been "Over The Rainbow" (yup, Wizard of Oz stuff) and the Beatles' "a Day in the Life"..... tunes we've heard a hundred times, but never like this. Great show.

The man's a genius. Refreshingly, very down-to-earth too! Proof that when you're the best of the best (à la Knopfler and Clapton), you can be above the rock star ego nonsense as well. Ironically, the absolute standouts in my view were all covers (see below). Perhaps this is the reason that Mr. Beck hasn't enjoyed the commercial success of some of his peers over the years. In short, the man is such a virtuoso that many of his own songs are "over the head" of most (admittedly, myself included!). But Mr. Beck proved one thing unequivocally, on Thursday night, beyond stunning the entire audience with his signature sound: he can do ANYTHING with a guitar. Though I've had the privilege of attending literally hundreds of concerts in my lifetime, I have never heard anybody produce such a diverse array of sounds out of a Fender Strat - which still happens to be my favorite electric guitar. Hail to one of the true guitar kings!

his original tunes were the best on this night but I did enjoy "a day in the life", "somewhere over the rainbow" and "Little Wing" near the end of the show. I would have paid double the ticketprice for this show. it didnt hurt that he was performing at the Ryman.

Jeff Beck is still the master, well, along with Clapton. The Ryman is a nice, small venue but the seating could have been better. Couldn't even see the drummer we were so far to the side of the stage, Other than that. the concert was awesome. Jeff got his first overwhelming ovation after doing "Over the Rainbow" which might say more about the age of the audience but he is probably the only one that could get away with playing that song and getting a standing ovation. He mixed it up, did a few covers, a tribute to Les Paul, a 5 song encore, and a few songs from his latest CD. I'd love to know where he finds these bass players. First Tal Wilkenfeld, now Rhonda Smith. She was amazing. This was the same band he played with at Crossroads last summer. Had a great time, was over too quick, but would definitely travel to see him again. We drove from Knoxville and there were quite a few people there who had done the same. He is definitely worth the trip.

First of all, this was THE Jeff Beck show, not the Les Paul tribute. I recognized the genius and talent of Les Paul... But I prefer JB. Jeff was in rare form. Coaxing sounds out of his guitar like some kind of wizard. He rarely goes back to step on his pedal board, and yet he gets more sound out of one setting than I can out of a full array of pedals, which just goes to show ya. Of course I don't know Jeff Beck, but he seems so humble and likeable. His focus is only the music... the song... not his solo or his pose. So many aspiring and current guitar stars could learn so much from him. He gives room and full due to the musicians who are lucky enough to play with him. Its not about who is the best musician, its about making the best music. Every song has craft and is meant to take you on a little journey. Oh Yeah, he NEVER misses a note, he's that good... 12 STARS!!!

Too short and too little Jeff Beck ... The show lasted 68 minutes, with a 10 minute encore and seemed more like an Imelda May concert, with Jeff Beck stopping by for a few minutes. While I think she's a great performer, I was expecting that she would be the opening act for Jeff Beck, rather than performing for the majority of the evening, especially given how short the total performance was. Very disappointing ...

Amazing evening with one of the top 5 guitarists of the last 50 years. I sat on the stage next to Jimmy Page in August, 1967 (with the Yardbirds), Now............. I was in row 19 seeing Jeff Beck................. All I have left is Eric Clapton. The 1960'S YARBIRD'S, Clapton, Beck, Page..................... unbelievable players!

Jeff started with " Where were you"...then a few from "Emotion and Commotion". When he started up "Rollin and Tumblin" and quick into "Big Block"...the tears were there. Jeff is god of guitars!!!! He covered just about his entire career in 1 1/2 hours. My g/f says that when we win the lottery we will be jeff groupies!

Not being very familiar with Jeff's music, I wasn't sure what to expect. Simply put, it was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. I saw Clapton eariler this year and as much as I love Clapton, Jeff put him to shame as a live performer. I highly recommend you see him live if you ever have the chance.

Jeff Beck is one of the top five guitarists in the world. He is so accomplished that it is hard to fathom how he uses both hands so fluidly. I've not seen anyone who uses his pick hand so eloquently except the late Jimi Hendrix. The sounds he gets out of his guitar, it is like it is a classical instrument; few have the vituosity that Jeff Beck posesses. The Bass player had a superb solo, I have only seen Chris Squire play the instrument as well and the drummer who also toured with Beck in the mid 70s was most excellent.

The Eastman was incredibly intimate venue to watch this rock and roll (and jazz) HOF performer. Each member of the band was incredibly talented, especially the drummer and the female vocalist. The songs from Jeff's latest album ("Emotion & Commotion") were beautifully delivered and some of his ole classics were played as well but it was the Beatles song that evoked the most amount of joy for me. I knew he had done an 8pm show and I understood that the band must have been tired on a hot sultry day but it would have been nice if the concert had gone longer than 90 minutes. Notwithstanding, it was one of the best concerts that I had been in some time.

Jeff Beck is still one of the greatest axemen ever. This show was a guitarist's dream. Jeff played music for 90 minutes straight without stopping to talk to the audience. Jeff Beck has followed his own heart since leaving the Yardbirds in the '60's. He's innovative and flashy. He has the most pronounced tone & clarity of any guitarist (half the guys in the audience at Chastain were players). Don't miss it!

Saying "He's a genius" about someone who's particularly adept at their craft is a tired, trite cliché. However, when describing Jeff Beck, it's also true. His phrasing and technique display singular brilliance with almost every note. His masterful control and inventive use of the volume pedal, finger tapping, glass slide and tremolo to provide nuanced shades of attack are breathtaking to behold, and often elicited spontaneous ovations in the middle of a song. Several times I found myself too nonplussed to applaud, instead just shaking my head and saying "Wow." The show was well-paced, with a mix of up-tempo and slower numbers displaying different aspects of his limitless range. Bringing his arsenal of sounds to bear on his arrangement of "A Day in the Life", he delivered a breathtaking interpretation of the Beatles classic, with as much, or more, depth and existential inquiry as the original. And the show-closer, a soaring, aching version of Puccini's aria "Nessun Dorma" was pure, ethereal magic. His band was tight, and the sound mix was good. Bassist Rhonda Smith was a fan favorite, although I found her exuberant slap playing a bit of style-over-substance. An almost entirely instrumental set-list may not be to everyone's taste, and Beck lacks the engaging banter with the crowd of a James Taylor or Chris Isaak. Instead, his guitar does all the singing and talking. For fans of guitar playing, elevated and perfected, Jeff Beck is not to be missed.

I've been a long-time Jeff Beck fan, but for various reasons just haven't been able to get to a live performance. For Mother's Day (my mother is also a fan) I decided to take advantage of some time off and buy tickets for my mother and I to go to his show in Boston on 6/3. Long story short, throughout the entire ride home all we talked about was how great the show was, and how this was one of the best Mother's Day gifts I had ever given her. Was a great, and memorable experience. Would DEFINITELY recommend to anyone.

Somehow I was under the impression all three headliners would play together some or part of the event. Although I was incorrect, the show was still awesome. Ann Wilson stole the show, I thought, by her selection of songs. Her voice is still strong, and she shows her vocal passion for each song -- whether it is her own or a cover. Amazingly, she and her band open with The Real Me, by The Who, and closed with Won't Get Fooled Again, also by The Who. I had expected a Led Zep song, but it didnt matter with the choice of her Who selections. Both were amazing versions! Her guitarist was really talented. She performed a few songs from her upcoming "Immortal" album, which seems it will be a big seller. She sings songs on the album from artists who have died the past few years, and she does them really great. So fun to hear and listen to that voice. Paul Rodgers still has a good voice as well, and can really work a crowd. He was a lot of fun to watch and great to listen to as he belted out his lines. Jeff Beck is 74??........Ya never would know. He hardly ever stops moving, walking, bending, leaning -- while his fingers and hands never stop moving! An amazing virtuoso. And his band is super talented. His version of Superstition by Stevie Wonder was awesome. And lets not forget Ms. Bonham. She began the event with a brief set. Her voice and mannerisms remind one of Janice Joplin. Sure, her band is ok, and the songs were unknown, but she was fun to listen to and has talent. A four-hour show, at a place that is a lot of fun (reminds one of a music festival area)with some food, plenty to drink and has clean, air conditioned portable toilets! The venue is an out of the way area, but plenty of parking, just a bit of a walk from the lot to the arena. I am so glad I went, and any rock aficionados need to see these Stars Align. Well worth the price of admission.

I loved Ann Wilson's show and was glad that she only did a couple of Heart songs. (a little too [pop and overplayed for my taste). I'm a fan of her new material now and wasn't before this show. I give her an A-. Paul Rogers show was A+ all the way, what a great performer! I was less enthused with Beck, who I thought spent too much time showing off his range of skills and sound acrobatics and not enough time doing classic songs. Let's give him a B.

"Wow" is all I can say about this show. While not a capacity crowd, those of us there were treated to over 3 hours of classic rock, fusion and unbelievable musicianship. My only complaint is that it wasn't longer, and that the trio didn't all come out to do a second encore together -- (I was dreaming of a Hendrix version of "All Along the Watchtower" with Ann Wilson and Paul Rodgers alternating verses....) Ann is still the Goddess of Rock, Paul is still one of the greatest R&R singers around, period, and Jeff Beck is...well, the virtuoso he's been for over 50 years. All three acts had incredible backing bands, capable of playing anything. Beck's choice of using a cellist was a great touch, too. If this tour comes to your town, take my advice and go, Go, GO!!!

A great triple bill of Ann Wilson, Paul Rodgers and Jeff Beck. Ann did her take on a bunch of cover tunes and brought a new energy to these classics like "Wont Get Fooled Again". Paul Rodger did a set covering his whole career and his voice better than ever. Jeff Beck came with his top notch band and just let his guitar sing every song. He even had a cello player that filled in the holes. A top notch band to back a legendary guitarist. Stand out song "A Day and A Life".

Jeff Beck was fantastic, as always. Paul Rodgers also very good. Ann Wilson-- not so much. Vocally, she's losing it. More importantly, she sang only one Heart song. She relies too much on covers. Singing one or two is fine, but it was pretty much her entire show. If you can't sing Magic Man and/or Crazy on You, then you should think twice about touring. As far as the venue, Five Point is fine as a temporary structure. However they have too many seats located too far to the side (sections #1 and 6). poor visibility. Sound system was superb. Mix was superb.

The concert opened with Deborah Boham (sister of John Bonham of Led Zep). Sang a blues set for 30 minutes. Great blues voice and entertaining. Then Ann Wilson came on with her band. Don't expect any Heart songs but a lot of cover songs which she and the band knocks them out of the part. She closed with the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again". Excellent. Paul still has the voice but to many songs in his catalog to sing. He is definitely an entertainer and you will not be disappointed. He still sings a blend of Free and Bad Co songs. How will Jeff top this. Jeff topped Paul. He lives up to his reputation as a guitar god. If you don't know the song, it doesn't matter because is executed with precision. His singer was a real downer. He couldn't carry a note and ruined Morning Dew and others. The drummer, bassist and cellist were tops. Each were very impressive and compliments the guitar god. Five Point Ampitheater is a geat venue. It was my first time there. Lots of food options, drink options and premium wines as well.
