This is about the 5th time that I have seen New Edition in my life time. I have always liked their songs and it was great to see them all back on the stage once again. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves at the concert and I can't wait to see them again. We didn't however like the venue where the concert was. We waited in line for a LONG time trying to get in to park. Once we were in, we had to park a very far distance from the entrance and walk through some freshly cut weeds. Plus walk up and down hills. You can't even take a bottle of water into this place and it was HOT that evening. I will not be returning to the Wolf Creek Amphitheater, but I will go see New Edition again.

The funk fest was enjoyable. I was disapointed with the line up change at the last moment. Comparing it to the funk fest held last year in Norfolk, this one needed more organization. Sitting in tight seats for five hours was a bit much. Norfolk had the bands merge on one stage with little interruptions.

Excellent show: Klymaxx opened and wow!! Those ladies still have it...They had us dancing in the aisles. What can I say about the Barkays, Slave and of course Lakeside?? I danced for almost 2 hours straight. They way they each took turns coming to the stage after a few songs, it was constant hit after hit. Sometimes it took a minute to determine who was on stage the transition was soooo smooth!. Loved this show, only disappointment was the main reason I purchased tickets: Morris Day. Just didnt seem to get us back to the heights where Lakeside left us. I only stayed through 2 of Morris' songs. No problem though I was danced out by that time anyway :-)

The concert was absolutely great! I only went just to see Morris Day and the Time but the entire concert was very good. I love the other bands as well. Everybody still sounded great just like back in the day. If I had tickets to see Morris again I would go in a heart beat!

This was a great collection of some of the key groups from the 80's. The music was great, the memories it brought back were great, it was just a great time. Everyone there was having a great time. My only complaint, and it is pretty minor, was that the sound was so loud that in some cases it took half the song before you could figure out what song it was - not a band issue at all. I had a great time though and would not hesitate to go again and bring along some friends.

My girlfriend and I had a really fun time. Loved the bands. The only thing we wished for improvement would be better speakers, alot of times it had a lot of static so you sometimes couldnt hear what they were singing but thank god we know the songs. Also the picture quality on the screen, alot of times were blurry. So the bands were great, we loved their entertainment just wish we could have heard them a little better due to the speakers. Thought Morris Day was awesome, just turned back time when we were young.

This concert was put together very well. I enjoyed the constant movement of music between the groups. The \u2018No Wait Time between the groups was phenomenal. I enjoyed watching different races of people enjoying old school music. Dancing all over the place and really enjoying each other. This was priceless. They all were excellent. I would go back and see this show again and again. My husband and I really enjoyed this concert. We did things we have not done in a while, like enjoying a dam good concert.

The funkfest concert was great! The artists and the music was awesome. The venue was the issue. The parking was horrible to say the least. It took us almost 2 hours to get in the parking lot, it was a mess, causing us to miss a part of the show. I will not attend another event at that venue.

Horrible, horrible venue. It was so hot. No shaded area. Super far, way outside the perimeter. Hate the fact that we could not bring our own food and drink. The vendors there were high and food was not good. Drinks were horrible too. Folks around me were smoking weed and it was suffocating.

New Edition put on a GREAT show! Doug E. Fresh was a little disappointing. I wish he had performed "all the way to heaven" and "ain't no half steppin;" instead of playing the "guess the theme song" game. SWV was great, but their set was very short. The venue itself was nice. The $20 parking in a vacant, gravel lot was ridiculous and unsafe. VIP Parking was the same price and was on a paved lot behind the building. I'm not interested in attending any other events at this venue if the parking conditions don't improve. The vacant parking lot was across the street from the venue and down a hill. There was minimal lighting (several gentlemen were seen relieving themselves out in the open). Bottom line - Never turn down an opportunity to see New Edition........just don't do it at the Wolf Creek Amphitheater!

I came to the event really excited to see Loose Ends and Erykah Badu. Loose Ends put on a good performance. I also enjoyed Raheem DeVaughn who I am not really a fan of his music. Badu was a disappointment. She did not do enough of her best songs and her energy level was not as high as I have seen her in past performances.

My friends and I definitely enjoyed the show at Wolf Creek on May 18th. I truly believe Wolf Creek is a beautiful facility and I hope to enjoy quality entertainment at this venue. New Edition, I must say, continues to "wow" me each time I see them perform. Overall I thought the event was very well thought out. It my first vist to the venue and it was a great facility to host the event (I hope the venue can remain open to host more concerts). Simularly I thought the lineup of artists was good collection of fan favorites cross multiple generes. If I had any compliant it would the increasingly larger than life Diva projections of Ms. Badu who was the headling performer. For the 3rd time in a many concerts, Ms. Badu arraives fashionably late essentially tiring out the crowd which has been so paitently awaiting her arriaval. I love her music and have a great deal of respect for her artistry, I believe she needs to demonstrate more respect for her fans by dumping long waits for her grand entrance and simply show up timely for the set. Its hard to get energy from the crowd she may desire to generate a great performance when the crowd is pissed they have been waiting for 90 mins since the last performer for her to show up on stage. All in all Funk Fest was a solid event. I think for future shows they could/should incorporate more of the local ATL talent into the show lineup. Such a move would also boost sales as many local acts have large followings.

The opening acts of SWV and Dougie Fresh brought a lot of energy. As always New Edition put on a great performance and it was good to have all the members there. Bobby Brown did his thing. With him they added humor to the show. Wolfcreek Amphitheater was an excellent facility and location. Traffic and parking was better than Chastian and you could see well from anywhere. I love having events in my area in South Fulton. More concerts need to be at Wolfcreek. The crowd was live and it felt intimate. Only negative is the unhealthy food selections of the vendors. It did not appeal to all. Dougie Fresh was almost an hour late. Overall, Great show!!

The logistics of getting in and out of the venue were very unpleasant. Not to mention the food selection was awful. Most of events of this type at amphitheaters allow the patrons to bring their own food and beverage. If the patrons cannot bring food and beverage then have better concession stand options! The gap between SWV and Doug E. Fresh (over an hour) was not explained!

New Edition always gives a good show would have rather heard more of them towards the end or BBD....dont really care for the Johnny Gill performance...Bobby and Ralph ripped it! NE Heartbreak allday! Missed the beginning of SWV due to the lack of being misinformed by the venue about us being able to bring our own food and beverages which myself and Im sure many many others were looking forward to, had to take items back to the car like all other guests that came prepared; and because of this we missed SWV opening. Very upset that Wolfcreek would not allow us to bring our food and drinks eventhough their advertisements stated otherwise. Would unlikely attend another event there. Purchased my tickets with the intentions of bring my own items because it was stated. Bad advertisement. However, Dougie Fresh was Fab! He got the crowd excited and pumped up....took us way back! Love love Dougie Fresh performance! SWV still "Got It." Eventhough, I was disappointed with the venue and its a nice venue, the Funk Fest was soo much fun!

New Edition put on the best show I've seen in a long time. They did all the routines that we have come to love, they song the songs the way we remembered them and best of all they all work together to make it a memorable occasion. Their voices sounded awesome and they looked fabulous. I saw them for the first time in the 80's and it was as good as the first time!!! I enjoyed all of the acts especially the SOS band. It was kind of long and people started to leave when Morris Day and Time came on. They were outstanding but they did not get their due because it was so late. There should be more coordination to enable faster transitions from act to act. Remember that you are servicing a more mature audience that need their rest, smile.

Upon arriving at the Coliseum, I learned that the Dazz Band and A Taste of Honey would not be appearing but Shirley Murdock would be there in their place. I was not happy but Shirley's performance was good and the rest of the bands were awesome! I loved the S.O.S. Band, Lakeside, Zapp and Morris Day. The show was great and it was a scream seeing those attendees that dressed up in their finest 70s gear, platform stacks with goldfish in the heals and all. I would attend this event again.

The Funkfest was a blast! Everyone showed out and gave a very decent showing. Although all the acts were good, In my opinion, one of the early acts, Zapp, was the most entertaining. Shirley Murdock opened, then Zapp, Lakeside, S.O.S Band and Morris Day and the Time closed. A lot of times you'll see older acts where the lead singer has lost an edge in their vocal abilities. Not so here. All the lead singers were on point! As good if not better than the original records. On a related note, I'm not sure who the DJ between acts was, but he was pumping out the hits at a feverish pace. He'd be a blast at a party. I truly enjoyed myself.

My favorite act was the Zapp (Fantastic - Show Stopper). The only thing is I was disappointed not to see Dazz Band and Taste of Honey; however, Shirley Murdock was a great stand in and she still has it with that big beautiful voice. SOS Band was nice also and Morris as always did not disappoint.

I was really looking forward to this show every since it was advertised. However, it was somewhat disappointing as soon as it started. The MC opened with the announcement Dazz Band and Taste of Honey was a no show. After sitting around watching filler commentary by some local late night DJ, the show finally started. Although not scheduled Shirley Murdock filled in and was great. Zapp and SOS band lived up to the hype. At this point I felt like I was getting my money s worth. Then it was on to Morris Day and the Time. From the first note he uttered it was terrible. They were just going through the motions and the individual filling in for Jerome was about 300 pounds. Halfway through his set the crowd started clearing out.

Overall, I had GREAT time! The S.O.S. put on an awesome set, the ZAPP band hyped up the crowd and Morris Day and The Time did their thang. The other part of this experience that made it so cool and memorable was seeing all of the people who dressed up and out for the 70's theme. Great list of entertainers and the last minute substitution of Shirley Murdock was a plus! The long break between the SOS stage teardown, and set up for Morris Day was long enough for all us old schoolers to enjoy a dance party of our own. I do know that there is a sound curfew, and am glad that it wasn't enforced last saturday night. I thought the show ended at the right time, and could have actually lasted a few minutes longer. Happy to have a show catering to us from that era. Thanks to the organizers.

The Funk Festival was outstanding and I would recommend it to all my friends. Shirley Murdock is truly a consummate artist and Zapp band were the performers of the night. Rhythm and Blues is truly making a comeback and is much better than listening to any rap music. Mrs. Murdock sung from the depths of her soul and could lead and back-up any group. Her husband could sing as well and complimented each othe perfectly. It is a shame that Mr. Roger Troutman has past and God rest his soul, but his brother represented very well and they were a very dynamic group. The energy and the showmanship they displayed is to be commended and I know Roger is smiling. Lakeside was excellent and the Time was great, however I wish they played more songs. Morris Day is a showman and will always do his thing. The SOS band was average and could do with a little more enthusiasm. Still on the night it was very nostalgic and bought back some very pleasant memories. "Kudos to the Funk Festival" and long live soul music.

I really enjoyed the show and look forward to the next one. I must admit though that I was disappointed that all the acts advertised were not there. It would have been nice also if they sold programs for the show. The big screens was not clear and the sound at times was not very good. It would have been aof big benefit to have had a big screen in the middle. Always remember with a show like this, people are not going to stay in their seats, so the more big screens would have been nice for those who could not stand. The show was a little long, so by the time the last act (The Time) came out, people were starting to leave. I do feel people got their moneys worth.

A magical night in Hampton Coliseum as the Funk Fest rolled into town. Upon arriving, I found out that A Taste of Honey and the Dazz Band were no shows. Was slightly disappointed. Shirley Murdock was the replacement and while I thought she still can sing well, it's tough to replace 2 acts with one. The show started a little after 7. There was a local DJ there who kept playing great music between intermission and set changes. Shirley Murdock was the opening act. Amazing voice! Her husband was there and had an amazing voice as well. Like I said, I don't think she alone was a suitable replacement but considering the circumstances, she did well. Next up was Zapp. Very energetic entrance, they did all their hits and a bonus by doing "California Love". I felt they did Roger Troutman proud! No dull moments as the DJ kept the crowd buzzing with his musical selections. Lakeside was up next and I thought they were amazing. One hot they did not perform was "Outrageous" but they did perform Raid, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, It's All the Way Live and Fantastic Voyage, which was a certified crowd pleaser. Next up was the SOS Band. They did an excellent job, although I was hoping they would perform "Weekend Girl". But they did perform Tell Me if You Still Care, Just Be Good to Me and Take Your Time. Great job by the Sounds of Success. Another set change and the DJ went off. Old school hit after hit. Crowd was actually dancing in the aisles and in their sections. It became a concert/old school party. Last up was Morris Day and the Time. They came on after 11pm, and I think the crowd was tired and Morris went through the hits, the crowd wasn't as energetic as they were earlier. Some people started to leave during the performance. I thought Morris was "cool" but some people still began to leave. Despite the lineup changes, I thought the show was excellent. Still a great lineup for the price. Overall, an awesome night that I will not forget for some time.

This was a really good Funk Fest! All entertainers were good but I thought the lineup should have been different. Time(which was the worst) should have went on first. for some reason, Taste of Honey and the Dazz Band were not there. They brought in Shirley Murdoch as a surprise replacement. I like shirley and she was very good, but she doesn't fit in that funk Genre. Zapp was very good, Lakeside was good. The SOS Band was Great. They did all of their hits and rocked it. Morris Day was "ok". He only performed about 2 of his most popular songs, and one of them was a weak curtain call. He is still the "Coolest" but I expected more from him.

The SOS band clearly out played, out performed, and out shined the time. My response is, 'What happened to The Time?" I am a huge Morris Day and The Time fan and i have seen them perform in Hampton (Bay Days), New Orleans (Essence) and Las Vegas (Flamingo). And those performances were outstanding! This time at the funk fest? I walked out during the performance. There was no energy in the band or Morris at all.

Wonderful idea! Hope they make this an annual event. A little disappointed that two bands cancelled (Dazz Band and Taste of Honey). Shirley Murdock was good but the replacements should have been other bands. Loved the funkiest dressed contest. It was a lot of fun...
