The Sound of Music was absolutely amazing! It s been one of my favorite musicals since I was a little girl and seeing it live on stage fulfilled all of my childhood dreams. The cast was phenomenal and I was inspired. 100% recommended!

The set was a feast for the eyes, absolutely sumptuous! The production had the potential for excellence. I was disappointed that they didn't give more time to develop the love between Maria and Captain Von Trapp. It was definitely rushed. Other than that, it was an utterly amazing experience!

This was one of my favorite shows!! Beautiful stage and awesome voices!!! I would highly recommend this to EVERYONE!!

This could not have been better had we seen it on Broadway!

Extremely well done, acted and sung! The lead singers were very good, orchestra was great. No glitches or production problems.

The set literally took my breath away. When Maria's first scene opened I literally gasped in awe from the beautiful scenery. The cast did a remarkable job and myself and my teenage girls did not want it to end. I have seen many shows on stage and this is by far my most favorite that I have ever seen. This production is not to be missed.

Absolutely top-notch production. The sets & costumes were outstanding and the talent was awesome! We weren't sure we would enjoy seeing Sound of Music yet again, having seen and been involved in several productions of this show, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that we loved it and were totally involved in the show! It was a perfect evening for us!

This production of sound of music was the best performance I've ever seen on stage. This includes theater, concerts, etc. Absolutely amazing stage props, backgrounds, etc. It felt like I was watching a movie, the transitions between scenes were so smooth and beautiful.

The performance was absolutely fabulous. This was the first live performance of The Sound of Music that I've seen. I was a bit concerned that I'd be disappointed. It was as good as or better than the movie version.

The show was amazing! The singers had lovely voices and the kids did a wonderful job.

It was an excellent performance. Having good voices for this play is a must, and they came through. My only regret was that I hadn't invited some friends to accompany us -- they would have enjoyed it too.

We witnessed the first ever preview performance of director Jack O'Brien's new production of "The Sound of Music". He promised a new vision of the show without sacrificing any of the things that have made it so beloved for so many years, and he delivered on that promise. Every aspect of this production is absolutely top-notch. The scenery, the costumes, the lighting are stunning, and far better than one might expect for a touring production. The performances are fresh and new and like nothing you've ever seen before. Ben Davis' Captain Von Trapp eschews any of the tired of cliches that the role so easily invites, and breathes a new humanity into the character. Kerstin Anderson as Maria Rainer is not like any Maria I've ever seen (and I've seen a LOT!). From the moment she opened her mouth to sing I knew we were in for a treat. But it got even better as soon as she began to speak. Her Maria is so fresh that you'll forget that you already know the story. Other notable performances are from Ashley Brown as the Mother Abbess and Merwin Foard as the lovable yet cunning Max Detweiler. If you think you can skip this production because you've "already seen The Sound of Music" you are wrong. This one is definitely a must-see!

The music and voices were phenomenal, as the acoustics in the Morrison Center are top notch. The actors, particularly the children, were very professional. I've only seen the movie version so some of the extra music and slight alterations from that version were a little different. Overall highly recommend. A highlight was the Reverend Mother's performance of Climb Every Mountain. Astounding :)

This show was amazing! The best...I would see it again and again. The theater is super comfortable!

My wife and I had an absolutely fabulous evening. The production was wonderful, the venue was spectacular and the seats were amazing. I'd never seen the show and must admit, had never even seen the entire movie. My wife on the other hand knew every word to every song. She was delighted as was I. Could not have asked for a better night out.

The acting was ok, but the music and scenery were great and the venue, incredible.

My teenage daughter and I went out to a midweek show. We had a wonderful time. The ushers were all extremely friendly and helpful, the venue is beautiful and the show delightful!

Having fallen in love with The Sound of Music Movie and grown up watching it a million times and knowing all the lyrics to the songs imagine my excitement when I saw the ad for The Sound of Music! We went on May 5, 2018 and I would say although the talent was outstanding along with the sets and orchestra I did feel that the movie was better. Just because they changed the songs order and added 2 new songs (which later I realized existed in the original musical- which I never saw, so was going by the movie). I would ve wished that The Captain sang Edelweiss with the children instead at the last. Also, The Lonely Goatherd was a bit awkward seeing it at a different scene. Nevertheless it was a wonderful production with the cast being amazing especially Mother Superior (who bought the house down). Would I recommend it to a friend? Definitely yes. But would I see it again? Probably not. I would say it s a once in a lifetime experience. Go see it!

What a WONDERFUL show! EVERYTHING about this production was PERFECT! I really LOVED the scenery changes and I also loved how the songs from the movie were played at different parts in the play! Well Done!

The Boch Center is a wonderful venue. The architecture, decor and environment is beautiful. Sound of Music was awesome. The entire cast can sing your day lights out. All of the children were top notch singers. Maria was wonderful and the Mother Superior is a power house. The Orchestra was also top notch! Loved the whole thing.

The Sound of Music is always wonderful . This production was mediocre We had a wonderful time as the venue was lovely and the show full of wonderful music. .

The actors were amazing and the child performers did such a wonderful job. The play itself was too short and felt choppy. I didn t feel they did a good job condensing down the original. Some of the songs were in the wrong places, which bothered me. Set was lovely, and we love the Boch theater but would not see this particular show again.

Pros: Amazing singing Loved the set and how they changed scenes Kids did an amazing job Love the bits and pieces of humor Cons: The show was on the longer side Was not prepared for the number of children attending the show and how easily they became antsy and distracting to those around them.

Sound of Music was terrific. Excellent acting and singing by all. The kids were a special treat.

This show was spectacular, the cast was outstanding and too great for words

I did not care for the new songs added, nor the shuffling of original songs to a new spot in the story. The Captain was miscast - too young to have a 16year old, and he didn t carry himself as a strict captain. The mother superior singer was outstanding and the children were all well cast. Maria was ok - not a standout.

Don't go expecting to see the movie! The stage show is a little different...and of course there's no Julie Andrews. That being said, this was a great production with a lot of talent. The stand out moment for me was "Climb Every Mountain", which I've never even been a big fan of. I had chills!

Very entertaining with good quality performers. It was fun for both adults and kids.

It was rather disappointing they took a classic added four new songs didn't put songs in the right scene place and left out half of the scenes didn't explain how they really fell in love just said up remember the other night and that was it they just Roy day classic the seats I had were amazing but they destroyed a classic I would never spend money to go see this again I am a die-hard sound of music fan I have even been up to Vermont to the van Trapp family in they destroyed the story

Even better than the Julie Andrews movie!!! Would see it again in a minute.

Many memories returned for both my wife and I and we are pleased we committed to seeing the show. Don't deny yourself this pleasure if you are afraid it will not be the same without Julie Andrews. It won't, but the stage was very much "alive with the sound of music". The cast was terrific and the music superb. It was well worth the journey to Boston, don't miss it.

The cast was great! The kids adorable and talented and all of the singing was beyond belief. The set was minimalist yet perfect and brought the show to life. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and recommend it highly.

From the time we entered the majestic Boch center to the final standing ovation, our experience was truly 5 gold stars. The music was fabulous, the acting great, and the singing voices kept everyone's toes tapping. When the mother superior sang, "Climb Every Mountain" she brought the house down. Having been a fan of the movie for over 50 years, I was doubtful that an on stage performance could compare. This production truly came as close as possible. The entire group is "Broadway" talented and I would think is headed to the Great White Way before too long.

I am absolutely in love with this play & performance. Didn't care for Ralph (terrible actor) but you can tell the standard they set for their singers are very high and they all did amazing. The show was enchanting and beautiful just like the story and this was my 2nd time returning to see it in 2 years and I will keep coming back!! Thank you for an amazing day!

From the scenery, to the actors, to the glorious music itself, this is a show not to be missed ! Truly, a real production of the highest quality.

Went to the Sound of Music Friday night at the Wang Theater, construction was difficult to navigate and we got there a little late, however the ushers were great and got us to our seats without interruption of the crowd or play. The characters were nicely casted, and mother superior had an amazing voice I would have liked to have seen her have more songs or even cast as the main character but I will defiantly be following her and attending her next musical! This has become our yearly tradition for my daughter and I and I can't wait to continue to enjoy the shows at the Wang for years to come!

Really missed Julie Andrews. Maria was a bit nasal

Unforgettable! Great venue and cast. A very memorable experience.

My sister took me to see The Sound of Music (the movie) when I was six years old. I thought I would return the favor some 50 years later. We sat there mesmerized by the event! Listening to the songs actually brought tears of joy to our eyes. Everyone played their parts so well! But, by far and large, Mother Abbess, played by Lauren Kidwell, stole the show with those set of pipes she has. Her rendition of 'Climb Every Mountain' moved everyone in the theater. I will remember this event for a very, very long time.

Great cast , voices and scenery. Made it feel like you were living through them.

The production was amazing! The story line was perfect! Would recommend the show to everyone! I have seen the movie more times than I can count. So satisfied with the entire performance.

If you have a blood In your body, goose bumps were a uncontrollable reaction. Reverend Mother stole the show.

Wonderful way to celebrate with our 3 generations !

First off, it was not my idea to go to the show as I am not the biggest fan of musicals. My wife on the other hand, this is her favorite of all time, Musical. We sat in the upper balcony and had a pretty good view. I could not see spending the money to view it from the lower seating but those who saw it from there I'm sure love it even more and the sets were amazing and seem to seamlessly move between Acts. I also got a little emotional multiple times during the show. My wife said that the interpretation was very close but not like the book but I don't think any musical would be exactly like the book.

I have watched the movie at least 5 times! The Sound of Music Musical at San Diego Civic Theater took my breath away!!! Highly recommended!!!

A tremendous performance that had you wanting to sing along. The Fisher Theatre was beautiful and a perfect venue.

It's one of my favorite musicals and I was excited to see it with my mom and daughter. The children all did a great job, as did the nuns and main cast of characters. The additional songs not used in the film were just ok. The other part that miffed me was that they changed one word in a song. Like, just leave it alone. "Over stones in it's way" was changed from "over stones ON its way." The brook is ON its way down the mountain, the change wasn't necessary and it irked me lol. The set design was PERFECT! The components used to creat the inner house, Abbey and outer house were great. Well done! The singing was great too and the orchestra did a splendid job! Overall I recommend this experience!!

All I have to say is WOW. The singing was much better than the movie the cast did what I thought was a better job. I will be attending again if they return to my town. My wife was ecstatic. I bought the tickets for a Christmas present and she told me it was the best Christmas present ever. She was blown away and had a great time. Definitely worth seeing.

My husband and I went to see The Sound of Music. It was an amazing performance. The cast and orchestra were great. We even noticed songs that we had never heard before from watching the movie. Having always enjoyed the movie I was concerned that we might be disappointed but we were NOT. I love live performances and I haven't been to a play that was as well done as this one! We also thoroughly enjoyed the theater itself. I've been there for movies, a tour, and for a comedian in concert, but the play was the best. The Tennessee Theater was made for plays. I am so glad we got to go see The Sound of Music there.

Though the Hippodrome is located about 500 yards away from Camden Yards, young Kerstin Anderson "knocked it out of the park" in her portrayal of Maria. The entire cast had great voices and I left the theater really liking everyone who was in the play. I can't stop singing the songs now. They also brought a little comedy and laughs to the musical that I don't really recall from years of watching the original movie.

This is for an older child (teen) to any age adult. My eleven year was kinda bored but I thoroughly enjoyed it! For a smaller child it would need more action. He did the best when the children were on stage. The music was just like the movie except there was one song I had never heard before. Overall it was great!

The Wang Theatre is beautiful! This performance was remarkable. The cast did an outstanding job playing their parts. I enjoyed this show and would definitely go back to the Wang Theatre to see another show.

What a performance! Wonderful! A fabulous Mother's Day gift! My favorite movie of all time and the Citi Performing Arts Center actors and actresses did a wonderful job of carrying on this legacy. Definitely recommend for families with school-age appropriate children and up. Just lovely!!!

The cast was amazing from the children to the adults. The singing was beautiful. It was hard not singing along with every song. :)

Cast was better than expected with both leads excellent but SISTER SUPERIOR was OUTSTANDING, one of the best voices ever.

This production was top notch. I have gone to plays on Broadway all of my life. This was ever bit of one would see there. Run, don t walk, to see this play.

Seats were good nice staff and good service would go again

Children were amazing, great voices. Head nun had a soul grabbing and perfect climb every mountain . Other cast also good of course! Story a little changed from the film, but not in a bad way. Music a little too loud from our seats occasionally drowning the voices, but not enough to dampen our enjoyment nor our kids (9 & 11).

An exceptional and exciting performance of Sound of Music at the DPAC, would definitely recommend to all!!!

My daughter is a big fan of broadway! Last month we saw Frozen and Aladdin in NYC. This show was just as wonderful!

It was an incredible play, i thought for sure no one would be able to sing as beautifully as in the original movie but they were incredible. I also wondered if my 7 year old would be able to make it thru the whole thing and she LOVED it.

I absolutely love this show. Everything about it, the story, the music, the message, the goodness, the bad, it is a historical account, and we all should remember the tragedies of WWII and aggression.

The Sound of Music was simply amazing. The cast did a fantastic job. DPAC, as usual, was great. Highly recommend this show.

We purchased these tickets moment they went on sales. Packed house. It was the least well rounded show we've ever been to at DPAC. The Rev Mother and Maria were great but were supported with truly lower quality cast. I would not recommend to a friend.
