The Game

The year 2013 was one of transition for West Coast rapper The Game, who began by promoting his fifth studio album, Jesus Piece, which peaked at No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart, and ended it by releasing a new mixtape titled OKE and signing with a new label, Cash Money Records. The MC and his acclaimed concert backing band, 1500 or Nothin, backed the album with a limited number of U.S.

Hard to believe 1992 was 24 years ago but it does so The Dame qualifies as old school in my book now. Great show. Game was on point and interacting with the crows throughout his set. First time in 46 years I wished I drank as he wanted to call me up on stage near the end to drink with him. One thing to keep in mind...be ready for a late evening. The Gamer came on at midnight. But he was well worth the wait.

Game definitely put together a top notch for his LA tour date performance this year. Well organized set list and stage elements (ie back-up dancers, swimsuit models, outfit changes, and special guests Xzibit & Game's own two sons) made this one of the best showings he has had in recent years.

Even though the rain attempted to bring the energy down, there is no denying real hip hop and the feeling it gives you. Rain what? Rain where? I partied like I was in an indoor air conditioned venue. The line-up was awesome...Slick Rick, Doug E Fresh, Rakim, Mack 10, Warren G, Bone, the Game, etc. etc. Drinks were on point and tacos were to die for. I enjoyed myself from the moment I parked to the moment I exited.

It was ok at best one opening act from New York was pretty good. Young audeince trying to be hip but made it lame! Not a capcaity veneue pretty empty! Game dont really have a show! He's just on stage rapping but it was ok it wasnt no Snoop or Warren G concert that i'm use too.

The Game is so accurate to his recorded tracks. He puts an all out performance on. I've seen certain rappers who don't even sing (have their music playing in the background and just dance and jumping around) their own music. I pay to see you perform live, not just see you jumping around and The Game 100% pulled through with his performance. I can't stress enough how close to his true recordings he sounds. He puts on a great performance.

The Game didn't even show and it was never even announced. I found out an hour after the concert was supposed to start on his Instagram. The concert started a hour and a half late. Poor organization left gaps in between sets. No flow to any of the artists coming out. This was literally the worst concert I had ever been to in my life.

I loved the overall performances. August Alsina was great, but I did agree with his comment saying that the stage set up and the sound system was "wack". Nef the Pharaoh did a great job at energizing the crowd with his performance. All in all the artist were great. However the stage was bone dry. I paid a good amount of money for my ticket to watch an entertaining show, not to see a whole entourage of people constantly having to be kicked off stage. The concert didn't end until hella late because of the lack of organization. Definitely could have been better since that was supposed to be dedicated to the 20th year of rap legend 2pac shakur's death. He deserved something way better than that.

Went to the Music Fest Friday night, August Alsina was amazing, Fat Joe was on point and TI made it worth while but The GAME never entered the building, very disappointing. And random people were on stage like they were at a backyard BBQ.....I didn't pay money to see them standing on stage and waiting forever to CLEAR THE STAGE. There was no control and it was suppose to start at 8 PM but didn't start till after 9PM. The sound was muffled at times.

There was no set up. I was confused as to who the DJ was because everyone kept bringing laptops on stage before each performance. Nothing extravagant...I love T.I. but after it got to be 11:45 I walked out without seeing him. And Game wasn't even there!! Fat Joe & August Alsina put on a good show tho!!

Very disappointed in the organization of the event. It was scheduled to start at 8:00 pm however the first artist came on at 9:30 p.m. the popular artists only sang 3 or 4 songs and in between filled with really bad or inexperienced ones. It was definitely not worth $150 per ticket.

The BackYard band didn't disappoint. BYB music had me in my zone. Solid performance. New artist (to me at least) was Yusha. His music and beat and message was nice. I will defiantly watch for his rise. Other local artist presented which is always good to see on the give back. The Game was well The Game. He presented his music and also did tribute songs to head nod other artist which was cool. Energy was less of a formal concert but more of a gathering...like more intimate close up energy. The Game interacted with crowd. Hot all the songs old and new that I wanted to hear. Defiantly would do it again.

It was very disappointing that some of the performers were not hyping up the crowd. It was too mellow for a rap concert. The best How the West was Won was 2013. E40 was the 1 I wanted to see the least but ended up being the best performer. SAD!!

THE RESTROOMS ARE DEPLORABLE!!! ADD MORE!!! The acts were great. A history of rap, but sadly, no female acts. I guess women had nothing to do with rap. The good thing that most artists didn't have the need to use vulgar language.

The concert was amazing. The only thing I really objected to was having the Game as the headliner. He didn't even fit with the rest of the acts! If they stick to the real artist of the late 80s,90s,and early 2000s, this is something I'd attend every year.

This was an amazing concert, an all-star old school hip-hop show. Every performer touched the stage for about 20-30 mins. My only complaint is this venue cuts off their acts around 11:30pm, during The Game's performance. The crowd booed, because before that happened they were pumped. Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre, ruined the end of our evening.

This was a good concert. Well put together. I'm 51 years old and was a little concern with the old and new rappers together. Thought it would bring in the wrong crowd. But , it didnt . there was no problems at all. I really enjoyed myself (minus the rain) But it cleared up and the concert was a big success. It was good to see the rapp artis I grew up with still doing it! I wish they had more and better choice of food selections though. It was a long day and the food was only so so.Oh what happen to female rapp groups? Maybe next time. I also wish they would of had a after party.

It was a little unfortunate that there were two stages bc I really had two choose between some real old school legends and newer artists. I missed Melle mel and was pretty sad about it. The idea of the show and artists involved were great! The set times, order and such left much to be desired. I think that the 2nd stage need not be there and the order of performances need to be in order of "historical importance". There is no way that EPMD, Rakim and the like should go on SO early. The Artists ALL brought it!!!! AWESOME SHOW!!!!! Just one question: Wht were Bone Thugs on this stage????

I purchased the 100.00 VIP tickets which SUPPOSEDLY included a meet and greet, access to the foundation room and early entry. The only thing that I got out of the three was early entry. The game came out to meet fans for the meet and greet but just took one big picture and not everyone got to meet him me included cause these jerks kept cutting in line. On the hob website it says we get access to the foundation room but that night we were sent back down. This was a waste of money and I should have just bought a regular ticket instead of VIP. So not worth it. Buyer beware!!!!!

Overall the show was good. I have seen The Game in concert before and it was a really good show so based on that it was hard to beat. The Game ended coming in late because HOB did not want to let his whole entourage in. HOB finally did and The Game ended up coming on stage around 11pm. The concert ended later then i wanted to for a tuesday night, if it was on a friday or saturday it would have been no big deal. The guest appearances were awesome. Overall i would go see him again, hopefully he can get on the stage when he was supposed to

The show was good, i just hated the poor quality of the sound. I dont think it was worth the price we paid. At the end The Game made the show a little X raided, which I didnt approve of that because the Audience was all ages and I remember the row siting behind us was mostly kids so that was very unappropriate and not professional at all.

No complaints about game. He.came out for over an hour and killed it the whole time. Did a lot of songs from the red album and his hits from past LP's. Greatness blessed the stage. I forgot how much I liked the Game before this past Thursday's show. Although the Ballroom was no where near sold out, Game put on one of the best shows I've seen in a while. As soon as he came onto the stage, his presence was felt (homeboy is HUGE! haha) and the crowd was hype. The energy level never fell short when he was on the stage, and the shots fired at G-Unit throughout his performance were icing on the cake - definitely worth the 40 buck ticket. The only downside to the show were the Game's opening acts. I don't know who those rappers were, but they were simply not good. Without a doubt, Game is on a completely different level in a completely different universe from those dudes, and I must say he made my week. Honestly, his record label needs to start putting more money into promoting him again. From what I saw, the excitement around him is definitely still there, and the low turnout was due to the lack of publicity. Regardless, I LOVED it and am a Game fan again.

We arrived late because no concert ever starts on time but had no idea we would stand around for 3 hours or so. Having a couple of opening acts is fine... 5 or how many there were was too much. There was a comedian that came out first (i forgot his name..sorry.. but he was funny!), then J West performed, Ray J came out, then Kendrick Lamar. That seemed like an eternity for me.
