Great band. 50 years of Rock. Legends. Mick Box's guitar solos, sweeps, and chunk chords echoed through my veins. Great musicians all around. Just tell Ken Hensley to drop in sometime. See you in Sept.

Uriah Heep is huge in Europe and should be that way here in the US. The show at the Rose in Pasadena was phenomenal and they did not miss a beat. This is their 5th decade and Bernie Shaw can still hit all the notes, Mick Box still shreds on guitar and Russel Gilbrook is a beast on the drums. They have a new album coming out in September and I plan to preorder it!

It was nine years to the day since the last time I'd seen Heep in the USA, and was going to make at least one show no matter what. Foryunately, after numerous INS problems, the tour began in New York after postponements of four prior shows. So...flew to NYC from Tampa to take in a show I refused to miss; and am I glad I took the time to travel and be there. The band still kicks butt and was not a disappointment in any way or form during the set. About 1:45 of straight up Rock and Roll. Excellent setlist and they got a great crowd reaction throughout. Let me tell you, these guys are all brilliant musicians, and the bass and drums were indescribable: Trevor Bolder is brilliant, and Russell Gilbrook has added an energy to the band since Lee Kerslake's departure. Of course Phil, Bernie and Mick have never been questioned for their abilities or energy, and age has not slowed them down at all. It was a great show from a great band and I only hope they don't wait anotehr 9 years to come back !! The only poorly handled part of the evening was the "meet and greet", where instead of the band setting up a table and having everyone funnel through quickly, they took small groups into the back area of the club. After about 45 minutes of waiting I just could not see sticking around as the line barely moved. This could have been done much quicker, and it really made it tougher for security who had their hands full with a fairly large group. Oh, and also, about three tunes into the set we were told the band wants no more pictures taken, News Flash: If you are going to play once a decade, people are going to take pics since who knows when you'll be back !!

6-22-10 Was a night to remember in New York City At BB Kings Club. Uriah Heep burned the house down. For all the people that were there it was a night we will never forget. They played everything that covered their 40 year career. Totaly Awsome.

Playing it's first gig in the US since 2002, England's own Uriah Heep landed in NYC in the late afternoon, sauntered onstage at BB Kings House of Blues at 8PM sharp, and proceeded to peel the paint off the walls of this venerable Times Square music club. Their opening number, "Wake The Sleeper" (the title track from their most recent studio recording) pinned everyone's ears back in with it's ferocious, thundering sonic onslaught. From that moment on, Heep had the packed house eating out of their well-polished hands, serving a perfect mix of classic favorites and material from three of their last four CDs. Heep's trademark gothic/heavy/progressive/melodic attack smartly paused mid-set for two beautiful acoustic ballds, "Rain" (on which lead singer Bernie Shaw showed off both his dynamic vocal range and his ability to squeeze every ounce of emotion out of a lyric) and , of course, "The Wizard", one of the greatest songs in this legendary band's canon. Then - bam! right back into the fire until at last the raging "Easy Livin." left everyone both deaf and dumb (as in speechless). The rousing encore of "Lady In Black" had the whole house singing together, at one with themselves, and at one with the band. Uriah Heep may be a little grayer (Mick Box now looks quite like Gandalf), after 40 years of stalking the world stage, but they've lost none of their firepower. In fact, they may well be at the top of their game.

The best rock show I have seen in a small venue in years & the 1st time I got to see Heep. Mick & all the guys for that matter were right on.Bernie hitting the high notes like he,s 20 yrs younger.Dont let the pic fool you .Micks gray looks great & Bernie looks entirely different ,hair being longer ,cut offs doing him justice.Get out to see a show in your area while they are in the US. Come back next year, guy,s!!

I've loved Heep since the very early 70's and was so excited when I saw they were coming back to the States. For a group mostly in their mid 50's and early 60's, they kicked ass. Playlist covered the span of their career. There were a few songs the studio versions sounded better but all in all this group has not lost anything over the years. If anything, they've gotten better! This show was immediately after a trans-atlantic flight (as in the same day). I could only imagine how they'll sound after a decent nights sleep!

Graet show. Uriah Hepp Rocked! Bernie shaw was awesome and I have a newfound respect for his voice. Surpirsed to hear him do Rain whic h really shocased his voice and he did July Morning as if I were playing the old Uriah Heep Live album. Just kind of disappointed they only played 1hr. 25 minutes including encore.

It was a long time coming- but the Heep tore up BB Kings and reminded all who attended- what real music is all about ! The set was a great mix of new fresh material laced with the classics that helped to shape the sonic landscape of the Seventies... The band has found a way to honor the past members of the group and still manage to have their own musical identity, which is displayed in each song they choose to offer us. All I can say is that if you love great hard rock with great vocals & harmonies, acoustic guitar interludes ,wah wah tones via Marshall amps & Hammond keyboard overtones, and slammin' Bass to boot, I have to words: URIAH HEEP !

The Heep boys were in top form for their last show of the first leg of the U.S. Tour. Nothing but solid rockers for the set list. Took a lot of work to get the crowd out of their chairs and on their feet, but by the end of the show they were standing and shouting for more. Great venue. Mostly all good seats in the house. Staff was very polite and accommodating. I look forward to the next show at the Pepsi Cola Roadhouse.

Uriah Heep has been at it's peak since their line up since 1986. With the replacement drummer and basist they are still as good, if not better than they originally were. My young son, and my wife went with me, and thought this was one of the best concerts they have seen, and the fact that they seem to actually enjoy playing made it better. Mick Box, at age 70 makes playing guitar still look easy, more power to him, and I hope he can continue for many years.

I saw almost all of the 3 shows that they performed on each of these cruises and loved every one!. They always put on a terrific show and are very fan friendly ! They loved this venue ( Hoy Sherman Place) and will be back for another show here next year. If you missed this one, DO NOT miss the next one! Be sure to see Uriah Heep if they come to your town. We had never been to Hoyt Sherman. We were very impressed with the decor and seating. I didn't really see a bad seat in the house. Very friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. The only problem was a guy in the parking lot that didn't want us to park where we had parked and had us move. We were in a legal parking spot, had a small car, and there was no reason to move. His excuse was that the van on the other side of us may hit our car when getting in or out. So we moved and had a van on either side of us when the venue was over and a lot smaller space to get in and out of our car. Other than that, it was very enjoyable.

I've been a Heep fan for many years; since Demons and Wizards actually, so that would make it about 46 years. This is only the second time I've managed to see them, but both times they exceeded what I had hoped for. There are no grandiose solos or extended absences from the stage. There's no out-of-place banter with the audience that tends to annoy rather than entertain. They just come out on stage and rock the bejesus out of the place. The audience both times was comprise of folks older than me all the way back to the 20-years-of-age range. If my grandson wasn't being punished for being a dork he would have gone which would have brought the lower age range to 16. (He's still pissed that I didn't take him, but he'll get over it.) If you have a chance to see Uriah Heep, by all means ... DO IT! You don't see a band with the staying power, talent, and personality of a Uriah Heep very often. Don't miss these guys!

I saw Heep play in Milwaukee two years ago, and the show was great. Last week I took my young son to see them in Minneapolis, as he likes a wide range of music. The show was great, and they actually seemed tighter than they did the last time I saw them. My son really liked them. Far too many have no idea who Uriah Heep is, and those that see them for the first time are very impressed. In a few days, I will see them again, as they are playing in Sioux City, Iowa.

Uriah Heap may be one of the best live rock bands most people are not aware of. Everyone we talked to was amazed how good they were. I saw that Uriah Heep had a few dates in the US on their tour and told my wife I would like to see them before they or myself no longer can. After checking Las Vegas, Tucson and Milwaukee, I settled on the 500 mile drive to The Norther Lights Theater in Milwaukee. At first, tickets were spotty, and the only ones available were crappy. The week before the concert, Ticketmaster had great seats available, and I grabbed a booth in row three, dead center, a perfect spot! The concert was great, loud but being a 500 seat theater, I expected it. My wife enjoyed it, too, even though she did not even know who Uriah Heep was. She noted that they seemed to enjoy performing, and the smaller theater made for a more personal experience. Even though there is a newer bass player and drummer, they are a tight group, and work perfectly together.

I was at the Thursday show. Thanks Uriah Heep - Band for professionalism, excitement and commitment to the music despite the small and stoic crowd. Uriah Heep's music will always be part of my musical life. So great to see the re-issued vinyl as well. Great room, but can't we try to be less stoic and give the option to have general admission up front for us that actually like to get up and get the vibe going??

We have all heard the saying, "something old and something new". Well the Heep did just that. They rocked out the classics we know and expect and kept us interested with a strong performance of new material from "The Outsider" CD. I was lucky enough to go to the show with a VIP pass. Met with the guys and watched the sound check. They are real people and you can feel their genuine appreciation of the fans.

Hello. Definately the best show I haver ever seen or heard them without a doubt. We sat about 15 feet from the stage and the sound, crowd, club and the food were all GREAT! They went on a few minutes after 9 and played until about 10:45 Half the show was off the new album, Outsider, and half was Heep classics. Sunrise, The Magician's Birthday with the best Mick Box guitar solo (at least 5 to 7 minutes long, just wailing) I have ever heard an absolutely great July Morning and Lady in Black were next. They closed with Gypsy and encored with the best Easy Living I have ever heard. The show was a sellout, most of the audience was 40 and 50+ year olds but many weren't born when some of the songs first came out. The crowd was blown away by the Heep. They gave them a standing ovation from the first song on and for anyone there who never saw them or heard them before, (doubtful) they are true Heep fans now. Mick thanked the crowd, spoke of the first Album, Very Heavy, Very Humble back in in 1970 and said "my god, where did all the years go? But you're still here, we're still here, and making music!.... Thank you New York City!!!" Attended this show in honor of our friend Doug (R.I.P.) who introduced all of us to Uriah Heep back in 1970.

Having seen Uriah Heep a couple of times previously (including the "classical lineup" in 1973), I was excited about this concert. Musically, the band didn't disappoint with the exception that Bernie Shaw's vocals were hard to hear over the music for much of the show. The biggest letdown was the brevity of the set, with the show lasting less that an hour and a half. Mick Box told the crowd that Bernie was having trouble with his voice that night, so I'll chalk this up to that.

When I signed up for a Ticketmaster account, I was asked to enter bands I wanted to see. I didn't even know if Uriah Heep was still touring, but I put them on my list. When I got the email alert, I was excited. When I saw the show, I was incredibly impressed. Each band member did a brilliant performance, far exceeding my expectations. The set list was outstanding, finishing with many memorable classics. The newer songs, which I did not know as well, were exceedingly impressive. Every band member was excellent. Trevor kicked ass on bass. Bernie was simply incredible on vocals. Russel (the new kid) had enormous energy on the drums. Phil played outrageous keyboards. Mick Box was just a wizard at the electric guitar. His smile was contagious. I signed up for the meet and greet, after the show, and it was very cool to meet the band and just hang out for a little while. For any fan of this sort of "progressive rock", this is a "must see" show. My most amusing moment was when I was asked for my (Mick Box's) autograph. I'm a short guy, but he's even shorter.

Playing at a small venue is always great. One can see and hear everything so much better. Started out with a couple of tracks from WAKE the SLEEPER, including title track. The got into classic Heep, Stealin', Easy Living, July Morning, Deamon Wizard, Return To Fantasy, and much more. (not in this particular order). The music was loud, the vocals could have been turned up a notch. Mick Box fantastic on guitar, Trevor Bolder playing bass with his eyes closed most of the time. Phil Lanzon on keyboards sounded like classic Heep keyboards. Russell Gilbrook really into the drums. And Bernie Shaw on vocals very animated, very happy, loves that he is the lead singer of this band.

Durty Nellies is a great venue with an elevated stage, easy to see the band. However, they promoted the start time as 7pm, they started at 8pm. The opener was talented but played too long, standing an extra hour is actually getting tougher. Still, Uriah Heep took the stage with wide smiles and a positive attitude that continued through the entire show. Mixed with new and old songs they were right on. Sound was good and vocals mixed well. Easy Livin, Stealin, July Morning etc, great night spent with friends from the 70's. Box stated " Sex, drugs and Rock n Roll form the 70's, and we all still survived" Will visit Durty again, and hope Heep comes to WI someday.

i have seen heep several times since 1976 and it is still a treat to watch this great band. all the members especially mick look to be enjoying the concert as much as the audience. as well as a few newer songs they played a lot of the old favourites including magicians birthday, mick's guitar and bernie's singing were exceptional it's just a shame we don't see more of them at home [england] but they do seem to be more popular else where especially easstern europe all iin all a great night with a great band must add all members of the band are excellent musicians and worthy of carrying the band's traditions into a glorious future

the only draw back to this venue is it is older, that being said i dont goo to a concert for the venue. the sound quality was excellent, very interment . the band was great they played all the old favorites plus a nice selection of there upcoming new album. it was totally mixed in throughout the concert. they were very enterjetic and truly seemed to be having fun. they played about 2 hours with a couple encores .old school rock, just four guys doing what they love very active in getting the audience involved .

50 years of cranking out that kind of rock !!!! Hats off to one of the, " Big Four " ! They were fun as hell to watch and hear ! Lead singer was a WIZARD as usual with the crowd and his voice ! If you love classic rock like I do... Gotta go see them live ! I will be looking for another concert to go to this summer. If they come back to the Canyon Club , I will be there ! That place is first class and BADASS ! GO HEEP !!!!

The venue was a small theater, actually good for smaller groups and shows The seats were okay but dinner service was slow and the food just okay. It could have been just what I ordered, so don't take that as a blanket statement. The opening acts were fillers. Nothing remarkable about them at all. The second was better than the first, maybe because they were a bit older, and perhaps more experienced. It was just a time filler. Uriah Heep was okay, but for some reason I was expecting more. They left off at least one of their well known hits, and the others were not played well. Maybe they are just old and tired. I liked them then and now, but the concert was just an big blah to me. At least I can say I've seen them.

I love Uriah Heep and a couple of years ago at the Saban Theater they were spectacular. Well this time was mostly a disappointment for me. They opened the show with my favorite song "Gypsy" but there were only a few other songs I knew that they sang. The worst part of this show was the sound level, which ruined it for everyone there. It was SO LOUD that it became noise and not music. I was waiting for the walls to cave in from the extreme noise. I am thankful I can still hear as I normally see 35 shows a year and this one was the loudest. Bernie Shaw is a fantastic singer and showman which is the only reason I stayed for the whole show.

Mick Box and Co never fail to impress. Box is one of the finest guitarists in the business and just shy of 50 years after the first Uriah Heep album, he is still rockin' like few others. Lead vocalist Bernie Shaw is the finest vocalist the Heep have ever had and a powerful, extremely entertaining front man. Keyboardist Phil Lanzon is a powerhouse player and force to be reckoned with. The rhythm section with the two newest members of the Heep play bass and drums with fire and fury I have seldom seen from others in a lifetime of frequent concert going. If you ever have the chance to go see Uriah Heep, don't pass it up, you will be totally blown away. My only complaint about the band is that the musicians are mixed a little too loud, making it hard to hear Bernie Shaw's incredible lead vocals when the band is kickin' it. As for the venue, The Rose in Pasadena was excellent, seats close to the stage. The food is OK but certainly over priced -- $32 for a New York Steak with too much gristle. Same food as all the other venues owned by the same folks that own the wonderful Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills. I wish they had put Uriah Heep in the Saban instead of their dinner clubs -- they might have sold the Saban out instead of having so many empty seats in all the dinner clubs due to too many shows by one band in a matter of days.

Long time listener, first time live. I cant recall ever getting an opportunity to see the Mighty Heep in TN. They played masterfully, with lots of enthusiasm, which you dont always get with established bands. The sound at Gramercy Theater was fantastic! I would go again if they'd come to East (preferably Knoxville) Tennessee or Nashville.

Getting a chance to see Uriah Heep was a cool experience. I was young when they were big in the early 70's, but I had an older brother and cousins that listened to them. I enjoyed their sound very much and even today with only Mick Box being left, I felt the show was excellent. A definite concert to see if you have the chance.

I saw Heep in 1974 with what was known as the classic line up. I like them even better now then back then. The musicianship of these guys is First Class. This is one tight band and you could tell they truly were enjoying theirselves. I will definitely go see them again. By the way I drove all the way from Lawrenceburg TN. to see Uriah Heep and it was well worth the 10-1/2 hour drive. I hope they will come to Nashville next year or Huntsville AL.. They are both around 1-1/2 hour from my house. The only thing is I wish they would have played longer.

Uriah Heep put on a terrific show. I've loved their music ever since the early 1970s, and was happy to hear that their new album/CD, Outsider, kicks some ass, too! But I really wanted to hear "Look at Yourself" and a few tracks from Demons and Wizards, too, along with Salisbury, because Mick Box absolutely SHREDS the guitar on that piece. Unfortunately, they didn't play any of those classics, which was very disappointing. But, nonetheless, I still loved the show. Bernie Shaw did a helluva job. Amazing energy, and his vocal range is very impressive. As always, it was a treat to watch Mick Box do his thing - he's always been one of my favorite lead guitarists, along with Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page, Leslie West and Eric Clapton. The whole group - the Heep's drummer, keyboardist and bass guitarist - did a great job and my hat's off to them all. Next time, though, please play a few more of Heep's classic songs, and the crowds will be grateful.

It was so great to see seasoned musicians - to actually play and interact With the audience instead of ignoring them! ... Each musician had incredibly stellar skills --and when you combine those 5 talented musicians playing exceptionally written songs- the effect is Outstanding!! Great Job Guys- I was a friend of Trevor- and sorry he wasn't able to make it (R.I.P.) but the new bass player was fabulous as well!!

I've waited to see Uriah Heep for many, many years and I was not disappointed. They were energetic, engaging and they played a good mix of both new and old songs -- there really wasn't anything that I was hoping that they'd play that they didn't; they touched-on classics like "July Morning", "Stealin'" and "Easy Livin'" and also played five songs from their current album, too, as well as other material from the intervening years. The venue was very comfortable and easy to locate and move around in, not to mention the fact that the employees were all very pleasant and easy to deal with. I would highly recommend seeing this band and also highly recommend the venue...two thumbs up !

I am a huge fan of the Heep. But, I must say that this past Fridays concert was disappointing. I certainly appreciate the fact that a 45 year old band is still making new music, I certainly would have liked the boys to play more of their classic hits. Saw them a few years ago for the 40th Anniversary of Demons & Wizards, outstanding show! Not to play the Wizard, Rainbow Demon or Traveler in Time from Demon's was very strange. In looking at the overall crowd, I believe the audience was there to rock with Mick on the classic Heep Hits. Will give them another chance in the future, need to hear more classic tunes boys.

The concert was really good. They still rocked and I was surprised how well the vocals were after 45 years of playing. The new stuff sounds pretty good and we may pick up the new disk. The only disappointment was they only did one song (Easy Living) from the Demons and Wizards album, which was by far my favorite. They did not sing 'The Wizard' or 'Rainbow Demon' :-(

I expected Uriah Heep to be good, what I got was more then I could have asked for. The band sounded great, even with warning that lead singer told us he was fighting a bit of a sore throat. Mick Box was incredible! and the other band mates really hit it.

Great show. The opening act, Awaken, was solid and featured great metal riff-laden songs. Uriah Heep were just fantastic. They played most of my old favorites and songs from their new album. BB Kings is a great place for a concert as the place is small offering close proximity to the stage and great view of the bands.

Heep came on at 9:10, I cannot believe how fast the crew got Heep s gear on stage and set up. The lights came on to Russell, alone at the drum kit pounding away, then some crushing keyboards and thumping bass. Next Mick came onstage and started the opening guitar licks of Speed of Sound, moments later when vocals kicked in there was Bernie appearing out of nowhere. He sounded great to me even though he made some joke about sounding like a strangled cat. This was my first live look at Davey on Bass. I will do no comparisons, Trevor was a legend, Thain a category all by himself and Wetton a superstar presence. I was very pleased with Davey, he moved around a lot, smiled quite a bit, and plays the bass strings very fast and effortlessly. I noticed right away that between him and Russell, Heep s Sound is much more pumped up then it ever was! Hanging Tree was next up, but the beginning was disappointing compared to the opening licks of the original off of Firefly. However it rocked, and being I have never seen this song before live, and it is my ring tone on my iphone, I did enjoy!! Next up was The Law, my least favorite song initially on Outsider, but now one of my favorites. This is where Davey s bass really stood out. Another thing I noticed as night progressed, the heep harmonies are nicely blended, not as high note sounding as classic heep, but very smooth, so I was unable to pick out individual voices, but could see who was singing what, thus answering my own unanswered questions to the list over the past year. Outsider, Sunrise, Stealin in that order came next. Then came Magician s Birthday. Wow, they pulled it off, it was great. Especially the treat of the long guitar/drum solo in the middle of the song. I did however think the vocal interplay towards end of song was not as powerful as I expected. It was between Bernie and Phil, and Phil sounded low in the mix. It could have been soundboard issue. What Kind of God came next, I guess I have not listened to Wake the Sleeper in a couple years, it was a treat. Then up came One Minute, tremendous version. Can t Take that Away is unbelievable live, I was blown away by it and vote it the top performance of the evening. Next up July Morning, Davey shined as did the rest of the band, then Lady in Black. As usual, like Stealin earlier, a ton of audience participation. And the crowd knew the words to these tunes!! (unlike the support band, when the vocalist turned his mic to the crowd and there was no response) The band then left the stage, and I heard some folk around me, muttering about no Easy Livin , but see this is where knowing your band and knowing prior set lists is an advantage. I knew they would be back out. They came on a few moments later and broke into Gypsy. Nice version, as its a great song. Somehow they did not stop playing and rolled Gypsy right into Easy Livin .
