Great show at country Club Hills! George & Stanley totally jammed, and the 21 year old drummer from Chicago was impressive. My high-lite was when I and other audience members were invited to sing on stage with George & Stanley I was the first person to attempt to sing the Mothership connection it was fun!!! If you are a true Jazz lover you must see this show!

this was one of the best versatile shows I've seen since my last concert with George Duke! George Duke such a talent and Marcus Miller is the most amazing entity in bass playing. David Sanborn is so cool and does not disappoint by playing his vocalistic crying style of sax that made him the most recognizable saxophonist since Pharoah Sanders! The verbaledge between the three of them was hilarious! Imagine all this and throw in an outdoor concert-it was was spectacular.

When dealing with three master musicians and one young phenom of a drummer, there is no doubt the music was excellent with great timing, inflection and power. The group is tight with no bad notes. The mix was a mixed bag of previously collaborated tunes and some exclusive to each artist. The crowd didn't seem to be as well versed with each musician which made for some dead spots in audience participation. For example when George sang his "Rhyme or Reason" song and asked for audience participation there was none because I don't think they were familiar with the song. Marcus Miller's "Blast" was great and all David's songs were like they just were fresh and dynamic. The only failing was the show was way too short. I would have loved the individual artists to have had a longer period of their exclusive hits. With a mish-mash of blending in my opinion it didn't work. Then the show abruptly ended; no encore no nothing. After 110 mins. it was just over and kind of left the audience standing like what just happened. Very disappointed in that. All in all a good show with three of my favorites, just wish it could've been longer.

This was a must see concert and I hope they tour again. It was a great balance of the three's music. There was a Mile's melody of stuff the George and Marcus had wrote. Some of George's best hits. And they ended with da funk. The crowd ate it up.

Wow. What a sound and night. The three guys really complemented each other. Everyone had the chance to shine. Sanborn was silky smooth. Duke was his amazing self and a huge surprise in miller, funky and hugely talented. The drummer was incredible!

We were fortunate to have seen DMS in DC in June as well as here and they didn't disappoint us either time. They are all consummate, professionals who are so incredibly gifted and talented which they displayed with class. Thanks so much for bringing them to the twin cities and on an actual weekend night vs. during the week.

Phenomenal performance by Miller, Sanborn and Duke. Great supporting cast including Pena, but did not catch drummer's name. Outdoor venue was great except (for bugs)

I neaver saw Marcus Miller perform but I was so very satisfied because he was as awesome as my two faves George Duke and David Sanborn. Glad to see that Duke was his same ole silly self! Took me back to the 70's

This was an outside concert and I was worried about the weather because it was supposed to storm. It did not rain, but even if there was a tornado this was well worth it. Amazing!

Good show utilizing the talents of all three. Very energetic. Audience gets to meet the band afterwards. They sell CD's but the CD's are of their individual work and not from the set they do together.

I'm a huge David Sanborn fan and I couldn't wait to see him in this ensemble. Their sound was amazing and their energy was fantastic for a seasoned trio! Great venue for an outdoor show, too.

I thought the concert was on hit. The three of them together were awesome and really had the crowd jumpin'. I hope they continue to tour together in the future and come back next year. We seldom get smooth jazz concerts in Pittsburgh and would like to see a lot more.

The show was excellent - just the right balance of funk and mellow jazz. I was a bit disappointed that there was no encore - the show was less than 2 hrs and ended very abruptly with house lights & doobie brothers music pumped in. Didn't allow us to savor the moment. Only other complaint is there was smoking in this supposedly non-smoking venue.

Arrived at the show 5:45 for what was advertised as a 6:30 Show only to find the gates didn't open until 6:30 for a 7:30 show which never started till 8:00. Got separated from my date to be frisked like it was a rap concert, (Nice Touch). Hideous venue for a show of this kind and don't even think the artists deserved the anxiety of inclement weather let alone the audience. Although the performance was outstanding the rest left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be spending my money there.

Loved it !!! Missed them at the capital jazz fest, but made up for it in the "BURGH"! Marcus threw down on "Blast" and Duke went old school with "Reach for it"and Sanborn is just so smooth! And the coolest thing was they all came out afterwards and took pictures and signed autographs and shook hands with the guest.

Pairing George Duke with Gerald Albright was sheer magic!!! Being a rather laid-back person, I came to SIT and enjoy the musical genius of both artists but ended up dancing in the space in front of my seat!!! This concert was the pick-me-up I needed to break the monotony of the week, or to begin the weekend on a higher note. Both men played some of their older classics as well as newer selections. Anyone who missed this show missed an outstanding and engaging performance by two men who were influenced by some of America's greatest jazz artists and who themselves continue the legacy of those artists.

This was a great event, and I would first off like to thank the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and WCLK Jazz 91.9 for putting on a great show. The show was very soulful and covered many musical genres. The venue was great. I had upper level seats and still had a great time at the show.

Gerald and George were on it, doggone it!! The crowd was responsive and they both played to the audience. Even though the concert was in a large arena, both performers made us feel like we were in a much smaller setting, We listened, laughed, danced and had the best time with some of the best musicians on the jazz scene today.

Very good concert...however, I wished George Duke would have played more of his famous hits from his albums. The first 4 songs he played was just not good to hear at a indoor concert.

This was the first time I attended a concert in the Cobb Energy Centre and was very pleasantly pleased at how nice it was. Great parking convenience and the theatre is wonderfully elegant. Both Gerald Albright and George Duke were off the chain. George came back and played an encore song which I had totally forgot about, "I want you for myself". Of course George tore the roof off the place with "Reach for it". Gerald was awesome also and had great stage presence.

I thought the concert was great! Gerald Albright was great giving us some old-school tunes as well as new ones. George Duke was the master. George Duke's "Reach For It" album was the second album I had every bought-with my own money (Earth Wind and Fire was my first). So I've listened to George since I was in high school (I'm 54 now). George's unselfish musical style that lets the other musicians shine is classic. I would see him again and again. I listened to a G.D. cd on the way home--I couldn't get enough!

Took me back to my college days. Renewed my groove and helped shake the cobwebs off. George Duke and Gerald Albright are alive and well. They brought the house down and made good on the promise of making the Cobb Energy Center into a Convertible. My contemporaries were on their feet! Young folks would have learned what true partying is and where good music comes from!

The weather was gorgeous, our seats were row 7, section B, dead center. What could be better? From start to finish, the concert was on point. The opening act was great, and kept the crowd happy and engaged. When Duke and Clark came out, it was ON! They did all their hits, and talked to the crowd like we were old friends. Sharing, laughing, teasing, joking...it was all good! There was a bit of a problem with Duke's keyboard leaning and it took the venue a minute to fix it, but he just turned to the piano and kept the show moving - not a second lost. These are musical performers - geniuses! The drummer was a 21 year old local who got 2 solos (one would have been enough), and the keyboardist was fantastic. Clark mesmerized me with his techniques on the bass cello and bass guitar. Duke is a master of accoustics. I had such a great time, it was one of the best concerts ever at CCHT.

I had the pleasure of seeing George and Stanley at the Country Club Hills Theatre. The atmosphere was perfect. The performance was excellent showing the range and depth of two of the most gifted musicians on the planet. These two have the long habit of not playing their instruments, but playing with their instruments. Truly amazing how many combinations of notes can come from 88 keys and just 4 strings. Perhaps the best part of the show was listening to the drummer play. He is 21 years old, from the Chicago area, and has the opportunity to tour and play with seasoned and very professional musicians. To their credit, George Duke and Stanley Clarke have a long history of bring new and upcoming musicians to the stage. Having the opportunity to play with these two is an experience that can't be replaced. The songs played moved the audience, swaying, dancing and singing along. I welcome any opportunity to see these guys play. Have gig? Will travel!

Stanley Clarke and George Duke both still play as well as they ever have with the same enthusiam and skill as I remember many years ago. It was nice to hear some of Stanley's classics with long improv sections thrown in. The venue was interesting, much smaller than I had imagined, but not a bad seat in the house and the sound was excellent. They only played until 10:30, around 90 minutes or so, wish it was longer. Overall we had a great time listening to great music.

I was hoping to hear the legendary David Sanborn play the sax more than he did ... he didn't seem like he was feeling well, and the show was more about Marcus Miller and George Duke. Don't get me wrong; I love both these guys as well and have many of their CDs ... was just hoping the great David played more. Hope he is okay?? Looked pretty frail.

It was a thrill to see such musical powerhouses come together for one phenominal evening. The addition of Louis on drums and Federico on keyboards made for great doubling of parts (between Federico and George) and awesome drumming by Louis. They were all having a great time, and so did the crowd.
