The IceHogs are good fun to watch at an affordable price. You can see players that will move up to the NHL some day. The guys skate hard and show a lot of style. Nothing like being at the rink with the rest of the fans.

Had never been to an Icehogs game, but our family loves Hockey. It was a great value, particularly compared to NHL games. A lot of fun, a lot of 'character' in the stands with some of what I would presume to be 'regular' fans. Given the size of the BMO Harris Bank Center it appears there isn't really a bad seat in the house. I would definitely consider going again.

Arrived a little late to the game, and as we went to find our seating we were informed that the usher gave our seats to someone else and put us 5 rows higher than I bought. No reason was given and I didn't want to cause problems at the game.

First I want to start out by saying I quit going to NHL games because I don't like the new style game or the crowd at the United Center. I'm not sure if 3/4 of the people at the UC really know a hockey game is going on. Its hard when you have your phone is in the hand the whole time, taking selfies and texting. The last hockey game at the UC I was at ,I left early out of boredom. How can you be in the middle of the 3rd period and not have a hit in the game?? I first discovered AHL hockey three weeks ago when the Ice Hogs played the Wolves at All State Arena. I had a good time. This was old school hockey. I decided to take the trip to Rockford to watch the Moose at the Ice Hogs. I had a blast!! This place is like a mini Chicago Stadium how it was in the late 80's early 90's!!!! The crowd is paying attention, they are into the game, and you don't see phone glued into hands! I really had a GREAT time! I love the old school hockey where they like to check and protect the goalies! I will definitely be back!

If you love Blackhawks hockey and want an up close experience with up and coming players from their AHL team the IceHogs (and one that doesn t break the bank), this is the venue for you. For playoff tickets for game two, Row 5 seats were $27, covered parking was $5 (with easy in and out), and concessions averaged $5. We could actually see the expressions on the players faces and hear the chatter on the ice. The checks on the boards nearly gave me a heart attack, they were so close. Team members played their hearts out—-was tremendous fun to watch! The trip from the Chicago suburbs was easy breezy...around an hour and twenty minutes. My husband and I will definitely be returning in the future!

Great hockey match! bmo center was packed, but still large enough not to be crowded in walkways during intermission's. It was autism awareness night, You would not have known it if not for cheap cookie cutter's given away at front entrance. Not 1 person on the ice did more than 30 seconds about the special night that was promoted. I was at last years game ...I do not have a special needs person or know a family that does. They had to feel let down by this non-event. The sale of the baskets of merchandise supplied by players was silly at best. add a signed game worn jersey with it! Or a photo opportunity with the player after the game for the basket winner.

The sight lines are great to watch a game at BMO. And it's especially nice to walk around the facility without feeling crowded like in Rosemont. The wide aisles and circular feel to get around are easier than feeling like you have to zig zag around to get around. It's easy to get to and a great game to watch win or lose.

Had a fantastic time watching the Rockford Icehogs vs. the Hershey Bears! Reviews of the last hockey game of the season are always hard, but they are doubly hard when you don t know if you will be able to attend another one due to personal circumstances. I began my evening by taking a roll around the entire concourse in my wheelchair from the elevator around to the Pinitza place, past Oink Outfitters, winding my way around past the Barnyard BBQ and into my normal seats in A123. The arena was packed to bid farewell to the 2016-17 IceHogs who are our team despite of how they perform on the ice. And this philosophy would be borne out as the team fell down 5-0 after two periods, prompting my mom to shout Try not to suck ALA Joe Maddon at the team prior to the third period. As if this wasn t bad enough, the sound of thunder outside was audible throughout the arena, meaning that I was also going to get wet in all likelihood leaving the arena. Now 5-0 is too much of a hill to climb, but man when Dowell found a streaking P.C. Labrie on a breakaway and he buried it in the back of the net for his first goal of the season. The building erupted, you would ve thought that the IceHogs had won the Calder Cup. William Pelletier added a second goal, but the IceHogs could get no further losing 5-2. I thought it was surprisingly touching that one of the longest tenured IceHogs and one of our newest possible future players were the goal scorers. It made departing into the rain so much easier. Hopefully, I ll see the IceHogs in 2017-18.

April 1st was the annual Jersey Auction and the IceHogs wore special court jester uniforms to raise money for Special Olympics and in honor of April Fool s Day. Because of the presence of many Special Olympics athletes and the general popularity of the Jersey Auction game, I had to sit in section A102 instead of my usual seats in A123. It s the same general view just from the other side. Although it is the same general view, I think you get a better look at the goal on the other end of the ice without as much sticking your head out over the railing like a dog sticks his head out a car window from 102 as opposed to 123. Entry and exit into the arena was much easier on this night because we arrived after the initial six pm rush of people to get into the building. My mom ever the sucker for memorabilia bought a Court Jester shirt. 102 is a bit more of a walk if you enter by the box office entrance and can be a bit of a challenge to get into if you have a wheelchair, if they have the promo stage area packed with a school group to sing the national anthem because all the parents of course gather near the stage to take pictures of their kids in the moment, which while great for the families, tends to clog the walkway making it a challenge to move into the seating area. 102 does provide a direct view of both benches on the other side of the ice. The blind spot is in this case directly in front of you as it is very difficult to see into the extreme reaches of that corner, but its manageable since not much scoring occurs from that spot. Now to the fun stuff: the game. During warmups we noticed that in addition to the Court Jester uniforms, they also had hockey socks in a black and white diagonal checkerboard pattern to complete the look. I honestly wasn t expecting much from this game given that Grand Rapids has beaten us so many times this season, but the IceHogs came out playing like they were the first place team, they were hitting and standing up to the Griffins and were flying all over the ice. Of particular mention was William Pelletier who had a point on all of the IceHog goals (2g, 2a). By the 2nd period, the Griffins were frustrated and their coach was having a cow and it turned into the stereo typically rough IceHogs-Griffins game. The third period was rather sedate compared to the chaos and mayhem of the first two periods, but of course with Grand Rapids it isn t over till you hear the horn. Great surprise win on a great night. The only thing I can chalk it up to is: Must have been the hockey socks.

I loved watching the guys play. However, the seats, although close, made it difficult to see much unless they were right down in front of us but not to close because we couldn't see them by the glass. Frustrating but we made the most out of it. Please re-design the seats to be like the UC. Go IceHogs. Overall I loved being there.

As always attending an Icehog game is so worth it. We happened to go on Hammy garden gnome night and saw a very entertaining game which featured a huge fight, many goals and overtime. Although they lost it was a great game. Only complaint is we were standing on the upper deck bridge from the parking garage to get into the BMO center (doors were to open 1 hour prior to puck drop) when the main door must have opened early. You could see fans walking around inside a good 15 minutes before our doors opened. They should be consistent especially on giveaway nights.

This was my family's first Ice Hogs game & we enjoyed it so much. It was a long drive because we live in Oak Lawn but the seats were right there by the ice. My 2 year old loved the action as well as I did. My wife who is not a sports person what so ever even enjoyed everything. We had BBQ at their concession stand & it was very good. Hammy the Hog gave my son a free pizza from Papa John's, well it was a coupon for a free pizza inside a pizza box but it was still cool. He made it on the jumbotron because of it. The team won 7 to 2, & we would definitely go to another game. We've already told the rest of our family who are big hockey fans that we should all go together one time.

Hockey is great regardless of the venue. What made this night special is that it showcased how giving the hockey world is to the community. This was Autism Awareness night and it featured Anthony Billups, which is a local country singer and is featured in a tv show called, Crazy Hearts Nashville. The link he has to the community is a given, but his link to autism is his little brother, which he helped showcase during his set. It is just a great thing that hockey gives back to the community and makes it a family night of giving.

I really felt like the IceHogs October 28th IceHogs game against The Chicago Wolves was about the third or fourth most important thing going on in the BMO Harris Bank Center on that night. The Cubs playing in Game Three of the World Series (the first WS game at Wrigley in most IceHogs fans lifetimes really probably tamped down the attendance for a game between the Hogs and Wolves. The night also featured two very hotly discussed items: the new clear bag policy and the bobble head election. I arrived early as I was (judging by FB comments, one of the few people excited for bobble head night and I wanted to avoid any fan anger over the new clear bag policy. In regard to the clear bag policy, I didn t really notice anything different from what usually happens when I go through the security line. But as always fans will have to make their own personal decision on the new security measures. On the bobble heads, my mom and I split the difference and got one of each. It wasn t a political endorsement, we just wanted a complete set. Then as almost an afterthought, there was a hockey game. Oddest moment of the evening cane when the IceHogs coming out of the Hammy Head almost ran over the late arriving to the ice officials. I had my customary seats in A123. Traditionally, A123 features a blind spot in the lower left corner on the far ice end and you can pretty well forget about seeing a fight because people stand in front of you. . But on the plus side, 95% of the ice is visible. This night must ve been my lucky night since the first seven-eight rows in front of me looked mostly vacant (thanks Cubs), so I got to see a fight or two. Spencer Abbot lit the lamp about a half second before the horn went off to make it 1-0. Intermission brought the human bowling mishap, I think something or other happened with the slingshot mechanism, so they ended up having to manually propel the contestant down towards the bowling pins along the left goal line. The second period brought more scoring including a Cameron Shilling short-handed goal but alas they apparently are not doing the short stack promo with the Stockholm Inn this season. I ll take the win, but I miss my pancakes. Meanwhile I was getting anxious because no Cubs updates were posted. Eventually, the IceHogs won and everyone made a quick getaway to the parking lot.

My best advice for attending the Rockford IceHogs at the BMO Harris Bank Center is plan to arrive early until they get the bugs worked out of security procedures. I understand it s opening night and you were probably breaking in new people, but that line out front was much longer than usual. Starting 10-28, they are instituting a new clear bag policy, which will either speed things up or make everything move as slow as traffic on the interstate through Nashville during rush hour. Once inside the building, everything functioned as normal. I don t know if it was because of the logjam out front, but it seemed like there were a lot more people on the concourse than normal, which can create problems, if you re in a chair because they don t fit into tight spaces well. This was one of the most surreal hockey games that I have ever been at. Because the Cubs were looking to win their first pennant since 1945, the crowd seemed to have their eyes on both the hockey game and whatever was going on in the Cubs game. Most of this was discreet during timeouts and intermissions, but there was an audible whisper in the air, whenever the Cubs did something and it was nice for the IceHogs to flash the score during the intermission (though it did nothing for this Cubs fans nerves.) If this feels more like a Cubs recap than an IceHogs review, then my point is made because it kind of felt like the hockey game was in the background on this night. The IceHogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but Milwaukee got the next two to send us to the virtually required IceHogs-Admirals overtime period. IceHogs committed a penalty with under two minutes to go in regulation, which meant they had 40+ seconds of carryover power play time into the OT. Milwaukee calls a timeout to set up something on the power play I assume and suddenly someone a few rows down from us says Cubs win. Another nearby person Cubs Win ? Within maybe 15-20 seconds it had spread throughout both the upper and lower levels of the arena that the Cubs had won the pennant. I almost started crying, but remembered I was in public and at a hockey game. The players had started to take their positions for a faceoff near Lars Johanssen didn t seem to know what to make of things because it was a louder cheer than I have ever heard for anything the IceHogs have done. It must ve provided some juice though because the Hogs killed off that penalty and another one to send it to a shootout. The problematic part of the shootout if your in a wheelchair is that they encourage the crowd to stand up which also has the effect of blocking the view of someone who can t get out of their chair. Fortunately, I can raise up so that I can see over the crowd. Thankfully this was not a 13 rounder like the game on March 20th as Mark McNeil tallied the shootout winner and everyone flooded out into the streets to celebrate something.

It was a great 2015-16 IceHogs hockey season, but all good things must come to end. Although the emotions are still a little raw this morning, I am going to try and sum up my feelings. My mom ever the comedian, took her rally towel and wrote on it with an ink pain crying towel just in case I needed it. Things were looking okay after a period as the IceHogs took a 1-0 lead into intermission. The crying towel was not needed. But for a four minute period in the second, Lake Erie scored three goals and it just took the air out of the building. The IceHogs were no help as they proceeded to give the puck back to Lake Erie on clumsy or sloppy plays. They even lost the ability to make basic passes as the puck would slide off the receivers stick where Lake Erie grabbed it. Things got so bad that some in the crowd actually booed them leaving the ice after the second period and I was on the verge of needing said crying towel. The third period was more of the same as the realization hit me that this was the last home game of the season. You don t have to like it, but you do have to accept it. The building was mostly cleared out by the end. It is one thing to lose to a better team, but for a team to look as though hockey is a foreign concept is something that I can t defend. Never the less, I had a blast this year and hope to do it again next year.

Someone should alert the IceHogs because the team looked flatter than a bottle of soda that has been in the fridge for a week. But more about that later. I began the evening by going through security and just squeezing through the divider things they set up to create a line for the giveaway items. I was very careful to avoid the Ice Girls feet. For this playoff game, I had A123 seats 3 and 4 which was a different visual experience for me. The goal the opposing team shoots at twice is off to your left and from my position you can see almost right down the blue line, it s a little off to the right. The game did not get off to an auspicious start as one of the IceHogs knocked the puck into their own net and it did not improve. While the IceHogs had decent chances, they frankly could not gain control of the puck in the defensive zone, could not make the one more play they needed, and just in general looked lethargic. While they made a third period charge, it was too little too late. On the plus side, one of usher/security people handed me a game used puck from the game. Having a game used puck from a playoff game is pretty cool, but that was probably the best part of the night.

My boyfriend took me to this game for my birthday and what a great time we had! We're both die hard Blackhawks fans and this was a great way to see some of the faces that may be playing with the Hawks in the next few years, as well as a few known names.

I take my son to at least one IceHogs game a year. He's a huge fan and loves it every time. It's a great experience no matter where your seats are. We try to go for fan appreciation night and the IceHogs organization does a great job of welcoming and appreciating their fans every year. We will be continuing our annual tradition.

It was fan appreciation night as the IceHogs took on the Milwaukee Admirals with the 3rd seed in the Calder Cup Playoffs on the line. I had a much quicker time through security, ticket scanning, and the giveaway item, which was a team photo of the team as of two weeks ago. This shows that just varying ones arrival time by five or ten minutes means the difference between a sea of humanity or a clear path to throughout the ground floor. We even got programs. Upstairs we ended up in the right section, if a few seats away from where we really should ve been, but as long as the numbers work out, it s fine. Fan Appreciation Night is typically a longer affair as they have to do the team awards. It was really nice to see Michael Leighton, even if he was in a suit. The game started and I was apprehensive because Mazanec typically gives the IceHogs fits, but the Hogs had him figured out taking a 3-0 lead into intermission. Eventually they added goals 4, 5, and 6. This started a hilarious We Want Cheeseburgers chant because with seven goals everyone gets a free burger from Culvers. Sure enough Vince Hinostroza lights the lamp and crowd goes wild. The only detraction from the evening was some of the alleged IceHogs fans in 123 started giving the Admirals fans in 124 a hard time. There s no need to rub things in like that. They were nice enough to buy tickets to our game and deserved to be treated with more respect than that. Other than that, it was a fun night and the end of regular season thank you video held people up long enough that getting an elevator and jetting outside of the building was pretty easy.

Parking is only $5 in the garage. We always have a great time at the game. Great time for families. We were higher up in the stand but still had a great view of the ice, definitely no bad seats in the place. I was sad we lost but we put up a good fight.

What can one possibly say about the Rockford IceHogs performance against the San Antonio Rampage? For two periods, it was looking good or at least passable. But in the third period everything went south as the entire team appeared to go on vacation leading to a 5-2 loss that angered many fans including yours truly. I started by getting a program from one of the Ice Crew Girls (very friendly and sweet) and then had to work my way back through the crowd to get to my seats in Section 118, which provide the best view of the goal the IceHogs shoot at twice (if you need ADA seating) and then sat down and waited for the game to start. Things looked up for most of the first two periods. We went to intermission tied at two, including a shorthanded goal from Chris DeSousa—which allowed everyone to get a free short stack of Swedish Pancakes from Stockholm Inn. In the third it all fell apart as the Rampage looked like an entirely different team and so did the IceHogs. The team looked as though it didn t understand the fundamental aspects of hockey like passing and skating. As someone who is an avid supporter of this team, it was very difficult to watch. I was so thrilled when the final horn sounded.

The game was fun and the seats we had were only 3 rows off the glass. The food and the place was nice, but we also had the most annoying family behind us that happen to be a season ticket holder's. We could watch the game but we had the family behind us who would not shut up. They would talk about the players and act like the people who you would not want to sit by. At one point my boyfriend got hit on the head by one of the kids and the dad made a comment asking my why I had on the jersey that I had on and would not stop talking the whole game.

A great family event at a cheap price! We traveled from a suburb of Chicago because it was closer than going to a Blackhawks game, and it was just as much fun, if not more. We sat next to a season ticket holder who provided some insider information about the team which was nice. It was a very nice atmosphere and pricing was cheap for a big entertainment complex. I'd definitely come back. Parking was a bit difficult but this was a sold out game. Not too far of a walk and only $5. For the two of us to have tickets, parking, gas to get there, and dinner (no beer) we paid about $50 total.

It was Star Wars Night as the IceHogs took on the Checkers. The IceHogs wore special Star Wars jerseys which were auctioned off post-game to benefit Special Olympics of Illinois. My day began with a rousing trip in the elevator of the three floors of the BMO Harris Bank Center. Today was very special to me as I was celebrating my unofficial 29th birthday with several family and extended family members. And they were treated to an amazing hockey game as Charlotte and Rockford battled to a 1-1 draw through overtime. Then things got interesting. The traditional best of three shootout left things still tied. So we went to a fourth, fifth, sixth shooter. Mac Carruth and John Muse put on a goalie clinic. Shooters 7,8,9 still tied. By now, virtually the entire building is standing tension cutting throughout the entire arena. Every fan knowing that one goal either way could send them into jubilation or absolute utter dejection. My anxiety level was through the roof knowing that Mac Carruth simply couldn t keep stopping them. Rounds 10, 11, 12, somehow no goals get through either goalie. By now, my nerves were positively shot, utterly terrified of another IceHogs loss. To make matters worse, everyone stood up in front of me, blocking out my view. I went through the entire shootout, relying on crowd reaction to tell me what happened. Then Matt Fraser comes up and scores on John Muse to lead off Round 13. We can win if Mac Carruth stops just one more shot. Somehow, the sea of humanity parted long enough for me to see the Charlotte shooter approach the goal and shoot. I lost sight of the puck as often happens because my eyes often don t pick up the puck well. The next thing I know Mac Carruth and The IceHogs are celebrating. I began to take a few more deep breaths, if for no other reason, but make sure that I was still breathing after a nerve wracking shootout. The elevator was once again a challenge, but one should anticipate that if going to a game with a large crowd at the BMO. But on this night, I didn t mind because I needed a few minutes to catch my breath. Actually I still can t quite believe it happened. Probably the best IceHogs game I have ever been to and it was even better that my family was able to attend.

Well on the plus side, they had a very nice tribute to AHL Shutout King Michael Leighton before puck drop. Further, despite them selling ten seats in Section A123, there was actually a bit of elbow room instead of everyone being totally crammed in like sardines. It was a hard fought though ultimately disappointing game as the Wolves beat the IceHogs 4-3 and I got more than a little bit testy because I want to see this team win hockey games, but you know even though it stings you life with loses… My real gripe was the post-game elevator situation. Every time, there is a large crowd people with disabilities end up waiting for an elevator for 15, 20, 25 minutes. At least once, the elevator stopped on the concourse where I was sitting with a group of three or four other wheelchairs and a lady in a walker. Inside were a bunch of perfectly able bodied looking people who could ve used the stairs. We then had to wait another 5-10 minutes while they took this load down to wherever they were going. I cannot tell you how frustrated I was.

The IceHogs battled the Checkers in another weekday clash. Weekday games are nice because the smaller crowds create a more intimate hockey experience and a better line of sight for me as a disabled person who can t stand up to view fights for example. The nerves were more than a little high as the IceHogs had lost two games previous in Charlotte. Forty minutes of a scoreless draw did not exactly ease the anxiety, but as I saw the IceHogs diving all over the ice and in one case two or three of them into the goal to aid the goalie. They also appeared a lot feistier as I saw at least three fights. Eventually they batted a puck into the net midway through the 3rd period and Drew McIntyre made it stand up. The fun part was leaving, a line of thunderstorms had descended on downtown Rockford complete with heavy rain and lightning. There s nothing quite like a two block sprint in the rain as lightning flashes before your eyes. Thankfully, there wasn t much traffic otherwise I would ve ended up completely drenched. But for a die hard hockey fan like me, what s a little water particularly when you get treated to such terrific hockey.

My family and I had such a great time we drove over 100 miles to go to the game and it was so much fun, great seats, amazing food. Despite the out come of the game my family and I always enjoy coming to see our Rockford Ice Hogs. This is a wonderful game to take your family to great seats no matter where you are and the prices make it to where you can take your whole family and not break the bank. Just did not like the fact that I could NOT bring in my purse. Due to taking medications I needed my bag and I had to walk back to my car and bring all my stuff including my younger daughers Disney purse. WAS NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT. The security is very tight so if you come with a purse Don't BRING IT IN YOU WILL BE GOING BACK TO YOUR CAR. That needs to change hard with families especially if you need a diaper bag.
