The Dirt Track At Charlotte Motor Speedway

Excellent event all around would def go again!only thing music was sometimes still playing while the trucks were racing made it a little distracting.

This was the first time my grandson has been to see ya'll. We had a blast and the show was awesome. We can't wait to come back next year!

It was awesome for my kids and they loved it!!!!!!

Definitely fun for the entire family. A family must see event. Looking forward to next year!!

Alittle rain turned the whole night into a 100.00 dollar waste of money.. LAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

took my son to see the monster trucks...had a great time....loved all the action...especially the wreaks!

This was very disappointing for my family and kids. This was promoted as a "kids" event, yet alcohol and cigarette smoking was prevalent everywhere. Also, this was the most disorganized show I have ever attended. There was at least a 20 minute delay between each truck, and the ramp had to be removed after the first truck. Very poor planning. We left after an hour and a half due to my kids getting bored and tired of waiting, sitting doing nothing. We only got to see a few trucks in 90 minutes. I am very sorry that I spent my hard-earned money on this event. We will not attend this event again.

Overall, this event was not very exciting. Some trucks couldn't even make it on to the track. No really big names like Grave Digger or Bigfoot. I think Sampson was the best known truck there and he was a disappointment. The rain messed up the big jump so they reconfigure the track to eliminate that jump. It was boring to watch the trucks race around and only a couple of small jumps. The free style wasn't much better. I have seen better at the Bobcats arena. I thought being at the dirt track that we were in for a exciting race and freestyle competition. The dirt bikes couldn't do their stunts due to ramp failure. No backup plan?

I've been taking my son to this event for the past 3 years. He loves Monster Trucks and this is something he looks forward to every year. In the past the night has been drug out by putting dirt track cars in throughout the night. We went to see monster trucks, not dirt track cars. This year I was excited that they ditched the cars. Here are my PROS and CONS for this year's event. PROS: no dirt track cars, lego tables for the kids, monster truck ride for $5, free ice cream, larger course area for the truck, freestyle motorcross CONS: Poorly designed course. The large jump ramp was not constructed properly. Because of this several Monster Trucks were eliminated right away after being destroyed while trying to clear the jump. They also placed the motocross ramp/trailer right next to the landing area of the large jump. First monster truck that tried the jump didn't land it and flipped on to the ramp and crushing it. Not only knocking that truck out for the rest of the night, but also ruining what could have been a pretty cool motocross exhibition. Also not enough big name trucks. Would like to see more of the Monster Jam series trucks in there. Only seem to get two or so a year.

This show was a waste of time and money. They broke more than half of the trucks. Didn't even have the motocross portion because a truck wrecked th ramp. Very poorly put on. Would recomend this to anyone.

The event went very slow and were long periods Of nothing going on. I was dissapointed!

Fun time for the kids. Unfortunately, a truck crash took out the dirt bike ramp, so we all missed that portion of the show.

We purchased tkts for this event to celebrate a five year olds birthday. He loves the Monster Trucks and this did not disappoint. He was so excited the whole time. Would go again and again to see the smile on his face.

All be it hotter than Hades, had a great time. The Traxxas/Ram vendors were friendly and knowledgeable. I may have enjoyed the race as much as my 5 yr old son. Hope they come around next yr. Ill be sure to look for them.

I've been interested in short coarse truck racing for several years and only saw videos of the races. My friends and family were super excited when we found out the Traxxas Torc Series was coming to Charlotte. I live in West Virginia and never saw any short coarse racing anywhere near home. Since Charlotte is only 3 hours away and we frequent the city, I immediately made plans to attend. I hope to see more short coarse truck races come to more eastern tracks like Charlotte. Im sure to be there!

This was my first offroad race and race at dirt track, both left me speechless. It was great to be able to hang out in the pits and meet drivers! The racing was great, action packed.

Awesome race and a great facility. I cannot wait to see the TORC series again! Best thing is the all access ticket for a super low price! You can get in the pits and see the race for $20! Then they invite everyone back to the pits AFTER the race for a concert!

We loved TORC truck racing! So glad they decided to come to the East coast and can't wait for them to come back next year! Already told our friends that they need to buy tickets next year, tailgate, and have a BLAST!!!!

5 Saturday + 1 for Friday = 3 Average Rating. The Firday races were more like practice and we shouldn't be charged the same as Saturday. And they need to have more than 3 races per night.

loved this.....best form of racing that I have ever seen!!! the ads for the event leading up to it were very scarce......hardly any advertisement for this event on tv, radio, etc.....

This event was well worth the money, would've paid more. The pits were awesome watching the crews work on the trucks and then getting to watch those beasts take off and fight for traction flying through the air sideways, with those v8s screaming. If were lucky enough for them to come to Charlotte next year, I won't miss it.

Racing was good and entertaining. Issue was between races, it took approximately 30 minutes for the crew to prepare the track for the next race. This stopped any momentum from the previous race. I'm not sure if this was an issue with the track or the organizers. Make the night go a lot longer than it could have (event ended about 10:30).

Races were great!!!!! Just too much down time between races. My group almost left before the last race. Out of boredom. But glad they stayed, last race was the best.

I took my two boys 11 & 8 and we raced our RC short course trucks on the RC track that traxxas set up and after we had fun racing we proceeded to the stands and watched the TORC Trucks race. Every year we attend the spint cup races here in Charlotte and this was just as exciting if not more. You also have full access to the pits! We can't wait for next year! I hope the word gets out and they have a bigger crowd next year because if you were not there you missed out! Don't miss it next year!!

First time seeing these trucks in person. We had a blast, drivers were super polite, one was gettig ready to get in his truck, and noticed my daughter wanted a autograph and he hopped back out and signed a poster, and took a picture with her. Very exciting racing.

Saturday was great but Friday was a waste of time and money. They need to have more classes - 3 races was not enough for me to go back.

The racing was excellent. A very small truck and and fan turn out but the access to the drivers was great.

Awesome experience...first time at this track...seats were great...giving full view of track and festivities...rained out the first day and track was in great shape despite the torrential down pour the day before. If you like dirt track racing this is the place to be!!

Good race; Swindell had them covered until he hit a lap car. Track was in good shape, but I still think there needs to be less qualifying procedures. Too complicated to explain all of whats happening to a new fan going for the first time (wife).

This event was alright, but we expected alot more cars and more racing.

other then waiting for rain to pass the first day every thing was great!... the next day the race was held on!...and to say for my first time going and my father going for 100000000 time i liked ill be back see you soon!

Rained out, Received phone call with new date and time just 30 miles from home the following afternoon. Later when I checked my email, I had an email with the same information. I was very dissapointed with the outcome but it was not The Dirt Tracks fault. In every life a little rain must fall. Outlaw sprints don't get close very often and I really do love to watch them run. Maybe I will have better luck the next time.

The greatest show on dirt. All the World of Outlaw tours, Late Models, Big Block Modifieds and Sprints in the same show. Awesome Event.

Fabulous entertainment for the entire family at a reasonable cost!

We had a good time last year so we decided to go back this year. While the kids still enjoyed it, for adults it left us wondering what happened. I understand these trucks "break", but there was a lot of it this time and left us grown ups wanting a little more.... Also, it would be nice if they shot the t-shirts into more areas. They didn't spread it out enough and the kids were disappointed none were "shot" in our section.

This was our first time seeing the trucks at the outdoor track. It was far superior to the small, indoor track that comes to town in winter. Hats off to the organizers for planning a great time of day where the sun was behind the stands.

The event itself was great and both my boys loved the event. However, both online and on the ticket, the start time was listed as 6PM. But the event (and the announcer) documented that it didn't start until 6:45 close to 7. More accurate start times in the future would be ideal.

I was disappointed in this race of the World of Outlaws sprints largely due to the number of competitive cars and drivers that did not show up. There were barely 25 cars entered for the race. Track conditions left a lot to be desired also necessitating a second watering and grooming of the track. Certain areas did not get water and that resulted in a cloud of dust that limited visibility not to mention drifting over the grandstands. I saw some people with respirators on and wondered why....now I know. I don't recommend this track to anyone. It is worth traveling to Knoxville or Eldora to see a real WOO race.

Excellent facility for a dirt track event. Race surface was wide and created fast multi groove racing. We went to this race as part of the NASCAR all star and coke 600 race week. This was the most exciting racing of the week!

The Outlaw sprint car portion of the event is what i bought tickets for and wanted to see, I was disappointed when I got there and learned that that was only part of the event and even more disappointed when it turned out that the late models made up the majority of the evening. I grew-up in Harford Ohio, the home track of the Blaneys, I have been to several of the Outlaw World Finals at Charlotte and really enjoy watching them and enjoyed the entire event each of the several times that I was able to attend

WoO was awesome. Seating was not. I am glad it was sold out but they needed to have 1 seat less per bleachers. Not able to take stadium seats in. Long time to sit with nothing at your back.

The Racing was exceptional , The Dust was inexcusable . Have been to many large Dirt Races at Primer Tracks and they are able to keep the dust down . Yes you do expect dust at a Dirt Race but when you can`t see the cars this is a little much . The FOOD was cold , no excuse on that . Charlotte Dirt Track is a very exceptional facility with some of the best Shows in the Business please address theses problems . Thanks , Tommy Walls

The weather was good. Had good seats. The race was great, especially the Super Late Models.

Great event tons to do and see in Charlotte Parking was easy coming and going. Take your own cooler and food to save money. Food is good at the track can get pricey but it's expected. Plenty of opportunities to buy anything racing from helmets to driver suits in the pits to shirts hats and hoodies. Love the early start time which ended the races both nights by 10 to 1030 which is appreciated. We had an awesome time will look to make a return trip. Charlotte is a great host for the World Finals.

We had a great time. Sat in section 411 Friday night then in section 109 on Saturday. There is definitely not a bad seat in the house. The racing was great. I could not have asked for a better experience. If you like to get dirty, section 411 is the place to be. We had a great time watching the cars rip through turns three and four coming to the flag stand Friday night. Any seat offers a great view. Section 109 was a lot cleaner, being along the front stretch.

Racing was great. The food prices were way too high.

We took our son for his 4th bithday. He had a blast! Have to say they could have organized the ride on a monster truck line better and we were diappointed they didn't have the motorcross like was scheduled but we still had fun. They weather had been bad so maybe that is why the schedule changed but we never heard an announcement as to why.

Great show - drivers really went out of their way to please the crowd! Bummed that Big Foot caved to Summit and allowed the ugly paint scheme change though!!

This is a great affordable event. This is our second year in a row, and we plan to go again next year!

I only been experienced with indoor events. This event made me realize how much power these trucks can release when not confined. With water on the clay track from an earlier rain made for some very entertaining racing, sometimes comical. Free style was great. These guys broke all but one truck trying to make up points lost on earlier racing. All in all GREAT.

took the wife and she loved it, 8 trucks competed and they did a wonderful job.

Did not like the announcer saying over and over about 'Hey kids, your not ready to do back to school" he should say positive things about going to school and not keep repeating about not be ready for school to start.

Went as a family with teenage sons and had a wonderful evening out. Plenty of non-stop excitement with cars & trucks. Very loud, too loud for younger children.

me and my friend had a grate time. we cant wait until the next time they are back.

My grandson had a blast. The program was fun. He loved the chicken dance and the nitro car the most. The cost was not outrageous.

Had a great time. Trucks were awesome, alot of speed and excitement. All 9 of us had so much fun, which is difficult to do since we range in age from 3-52. Much better this year then in years past. Would love to see more trucks next year.

This was our first time to the Dirt Track and first time seeing a monster truck show, so we didn't know what to expect. We were thrilled to see the monster trucks in action-- tearing their way through the colorful obstacle course riddled with jumps. The stunts and driving ability were awesome! The freestyle event was full of huge air and tricks! We'll be back next year!

Don't sell alcohol. This is promoted as a back to school kid's event with with 100's of kids attending. I saw several drunks behaving badly and had to explain to my 4 and 5 year old why adults behave "silly" sometimes when they drink beer. Can't these people go to a 3 hour event and NOT feel compelled to drink?? Just don't sell it, then it won't be an issue. Also, tone down the "play by play" announcers. They are cheesy and goofy and are more of a annoying distraction than a benefit. You can't hardly hear them anyway and when you do, it's painful to listen. Overall, we love the trucks and the show and thanks for the free parking this year.

This is by far the best event of the year been to other monster truck shows in indoor arena's And to see what these awesome trucks are capable of and let them go full throttle On a big dirt track is just unbelievable Was my sons second time and his pop pop's first time he's 58 yrs old and had never been to a monster truck show and now he's hooked Truly a great show great for the kids and adults

My wife and I took our two grandsons, ages 7 & 8, to the Back to School Monster Truck Bash at the Dirt Track at CMS. We've been to several Monster Truck events at indoor arenas and this outdoor event was by far superior to anything we've seen indoors. Although we enjoyed the event, time taken between races was really too long and boring. The kids got restless durhing the "downtime" and were difficult to entertain. Due to the weather, several exhibitions that were scheduled did not take place and the planning for weather related delays seemed poor at best. Also, getting out of the parking lot was a nightmare! Otherwise, this was a good outing for our family. We enjoyed watching the trucks perform, and we'd probably consider another trip to the event next year.

Show was great. Concourse layout was fantastic. Drivers all put on a great show and related to the fans.

Went with entire family and had a great time. My boys enjoyed time on pit row and getting to meet the drivers. The races were really awesome but the freestyle was insane. They wrecked 1/2 the trucks during the freestyle...thise guys are fearless. Jumping 10' trucks 25 feet in the air, flipping over, wheels flying off...it was awesome to watch. I will definitely go next year.

This was a first for me. I did not know what to expect. As they started doing hot laps it was clear to me this was going to be a ton of fun. The qualifying finished and the races began. How cool to see those little cars buzz around that dirt track at such high speeds. This is a great family event as well. The kids that were there loved it and we're having a great time! So go out & enjoy yourselves at a well put together venue for some family fun!

Awesome show! Got autographs from all the drivers, had a great time!

My family and I are huge fans of motorsports. Anything with an engine and wheels and we are in. After attending many different events with various types of racing I have to say rallycross has been the most exciting. It is fun to see cars that look close to something you could go out and buy and not something that was made from sheetmetal and bars. Besides Baja races, there are not many forms of motorsport where a car can be crashed and flipped on its roof, or have a tire come off and basically continue racing. I think the drivers did a great job of making the races entertaining. You could tell they were all pushing it to the limits and sometimes beyond. After the race we waited about an hour and a half to get autographs and photos with the drivers. I thought it was really nice of them to stay and do that. My only criticisms are there was supposed to be a water feature, whatever that means, but there wasn't one unless you count the water truck between races. I also think they could have made the jump a little bigger or had more than one. Other than that, It was awesome and we will definitely be back with our friends.

Took my wife and two boys (6 and 7). We had a great time! Boys love watching the loud monsters jumping and slamming into stuff!! The motorcross jumps were awesome too.

The show was good. We feel a lot was shipped over with the trucks and not all.acts were done. Overall the kids and us loved.it.

couple of things...leading and passing?...If you sat on the front row...you had it made as no one was going to catch nor pass you! Very seldom did anyone make a move from the back The other thing is the dust!!! Whom ever designed the track should of studied the winds in the area...track should be turned around. Hard to really watch when you have dust in your eyes. Left before the last A Main

A tremendous show was put on with the best drivers coming in from all over the country.

As the title says, this is our fourth year attending this event. My son is now 5 and my daughter is 3. They look forward to it every year. The event has seemed to grow and improve each year. The organizers seemed to have listened to some of the criticisms and made some great changes. The pre-show is great, but extremely limited in space. Everything is free, but the area is small and lines are long. However this year Jack In The Box was there giving out FREE burgers. Great addition! The show itself has gotten better. Our first year they had dirt car racing and that just dragged out the event and nobody came to see that. We want the monster trucks. The course has improved over time. I think the only thing they should do away with is the qualifying. This too drags the night out a little too long. We just want to see them race and freestyle. Overall I highly recommend this event for the family. GREAT family friendly environment. You can bring your own coolers and bags of food. HUGE plus for a family on a budget.

The whole event was set up well. The racing was awesome, and the track design worked for this being a dirt oval. This is the first time that Traxxas TORC has come to Charlotte, and despite the slow tix sales, they should be back next year. Water was expensive, $4.00 a bottle, but you are allowed to bring in a cooler of what ever you want to drink. we didn't find that out until we got there. The facilities were clean. TOP NOTCH EVENT!

All I can say is WOW! The racers, mechanics, and racing was phenomenal. Friday night was great but Saturday night was full-bore, full contact, racing. I wish the fan turnout would have been larger but I believe that was due to the lack of promotion. There are rumors that the series may make Charlotte a regular stop on the tour next year, with possibly two visits year. This is something no race fan should miss. High speeds, big jumps, and side-by-side door banging. Thank you TRAXXAS TORC for bringing the series to Charlotte!

As usual, the Sprint Car racing event was fantastic. I don't know of any spectator sport that is anywheres near as exciting. These cars have the highest power-to-weight ratio, and the 850 horsepower engine propels these winged cars like rockets around the oval dirt track. The drivers are the ultimate daredevils. If an accelerator linkage sticks, or if the steering mechanism breaks, the car will go straight into a concrete wall backed by dirt. There is heart-pounding excitement in every minute of every race. Every Sprint Car race that I have attended since 1959 had at least one car catapulted end over end down the speedway. It is quite common for me to see the cars leap over the guardrail and tumble through the field and into the trees. I am surprised that this sort of racing has not been outlawed. If you like boredom - stick to golf, baseball, or football. Automobile racing is for those of us who are not dead yet.

Loved this race! I was born and raised in California where the Outlaws only make a few appearances a year. I was so excited when I learned that they race here in Charlotte. The event, aside from the bad weather causing it to be moved to the next night, was every bit worth making the drive back to watch. So awesome seeing all the big guys in the Dash. Steve Kinser proved that he's still got it, even though he placed 2nd in the main event. Can't wait to see the finals in November!

This was the fourth annual WoO Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte. It was an enjoyable event featuring the dirt track racing's three premier divisions: World of Outlaws Late Model Series, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and the Big-Block Modifieds from the Super DIRTcar Series. The event was sold out as expected.

They really interact with the crowd. The trucks really put on a show for everyone NO HOLDS BARRED

This event was so much fun! The kids and adults had a blast and are looking forward to doing it again!

This was my first monster truck bash in Charlotte NC. My family and I had so much Fun the weather was nice and the people was very friendly. I will never go to another monster truck event again in Columbia sc

I spent almost $100 for THREE TICKETS. THREE. One child, two adults. The email claimed tickets were $25/adult and $10/child. In reality, they were $35.50/adult and $12.50/child. Monster truck ride tickets were $10 a piece and the ride itself lasts not even a minute and a half. In 2014, the show itself was great. I'm not a monster truck person at all and I enjoyed it. However this year, not so much. It seemed this year was all filler -- did I really pay that much to see a bunch of people do the Hokey Pokey? With EVERY BODY PART?! The majority of the show was making people dance for "talent scouts...." yeah right! The other filler was a very redundant motorbike skit where the two riders did the same the tricks over and over and over and over and over. Then they brought them out again for another 20 minute repeat. The "half-time" special was a very poor, cheap version of what you see at Monster Jam. The finale did not meet expectations of the build-up. The show itself? The monster trucks were mediocre this year. The free-style is usually the best part (the rest is "qualifying and racing") but this year was not as exciting and energetic. Maybe I was holding high expectations? In 2014, there was a lot of destruction and wrecking, flipping on their sides and trucks falling apart. This year was no destruction or crazy stunts. It wasn't worth almost $100 nor the hour and a half ride this year. My son - who is a monster truck enthusiast - wasn't even impressed in the least bit. Next time, we'll stick to Monster Jam.

My son and I go to as many Monster Jam events as we can, both indoor and out. This one by far was the worst. The trucks sucked, the Freestyle was horrible, seen better in some indoor events. The Motor Speedway had issues. .. just not a good event all around.

Expected to see trucks doing back flips and the crazy obstacle like you see on T.V. because of the size of the track,this didn't happen. They raced around in a circle with just two big jumps . The dust wash terrible , you couldn't even see the trucks sometimes. I was red when I left. And the speakers were so loud I needed ear plugs for them not the trucks! I will never go back and don't recommend this to anyone.

Very much enjoyed the show. took my three girls and they loved it also. firebreathing car a little outdated but otherwise a good show. Missed Disney radio being there this year.

I thought the show was really good and so didn't my three kids and even my wife. The way the track was set up was great. It gave good suspense to who was gonna win each race. The only things I would like to see different next year is for the event to start on time, the music not to be so loud, and the biggest thing is they need more trucks. There was 8 trucks but the event should really have at least 12.

We took my three old for the first time and he absolutely loved it! We will be going back next year!

We had a great time with our 2 1/2 year old watching the monster trucks. The additional venue items were great too. Motorcycle stunts, jump play houses, monster truck school bus rides were a lot of fun! Looking forward to this event next year My only complaint is how expensive a bottle of water or drink was. I know it's supposed to be a little pricey, but $5/coke and $4/water is too much.

This was an awesome event. My husband and I took our son who loves Monster Trucks. He really enjoyed riding in the Monster Truck Schoolbus. Can't wait to take him again next year.

I bring my son every year, pit party packed with lots of fun, ride along was amazing, seats were good. Great show! Can't wait till next year. :-)

This monster truck show is usually great, but this year there was too much Dust. They needed to water the track more. Many times the dust was so bad that you could not see the trucks on the track. ( Frustrating with kids). Also, we waited 45 minutes trying to get out of the parking lot ( no excuse for this) except they did not have enough staff helping to move the traffic out of the parking lots. Make sure you sit higher in the stands so the dust won't bother you " as much".

The Monster truck bash was a great deal of fun for my wife, myself, and two of our grandsons. The only problem was the amount of dust due to the track not being watered enough before and during the event. The dust will keep us away from next year's bash. Too bad though...we had a great time when the dust was down.

Awesome!!! Will definitely be going again! We all had a great time!

Event was great for kids and the event staff all seemed to be genuinly involved in the overall entertainment of the crowd

This was so much fun! Our first, but definitely not last, monster truck bash - such a fun time. The announcer was unbelievable, the guys were great - the truck drivers & motorcycle guys! Would definitely recommend to people of ALL ages!

I went with my boyfriend and son. I was skeptical because I have bought tickets to the time warner events n they were so horrible and a waste of money. This event was awesome the weather was perfect the events n games for kids n adults. We all got to ride in the back of a monster truck. It was a perfect family night out. A must do again next yr.
