The venue, the newly renovated Howard Theatre is beautiful. Dick Gregory is amazing! At 80 years old he is still funny, real and relevant. A must see.

The price for the tickets was too expensive based on the length of the show and the type of script used by both entertainers during the show. Guests should not have paid over $35 for this show. The show started 30 mins later than the scheduled time. The entertainers are older now and they are not as funny nor are the stories. They kept repeating their lines. Having an opportunity to see both Dick and Paul live, upfront and in person was a good thing. However, based on the entertaining, I would suggest to others to wait and see them on TV instead of spending the money. Paying $65 for a ticket, paying $1$12-$20 to park and expected to spend a minimum of $10 at the venue was a bit much to spend.

Mooney was funny and memorable as well as Gregory. They were unapologetic. Mooney has pegged Melania as a man and Gregory has pegged Trump as an ape. Funny, LOL

Dick Gregory was good as usual. Got the crowd involved and didnt disappoint. Paul Mooney the prior 2x i saw him made my cheeks n stomach hurt from laughing and always gave more than my $$ worth.. This time around not nearly the same. Im not sure if it was the late 2nd show that started after 12 or did his medication kick in, but he was not the Paul Mooney I know. Maybe I am makimg excuses because I am a huge fan but oh well. He got booed, and was escorted off stage, walking very decrepit. The venue was horrible and unorganized. I have requested a partial refund. Majority for comedians to keep ZILCH, NADA, NOTHING for the venue.

Dick Gregory was HILARIOUS. Tore the roof off the place. I would give this 5 stars, but I was so disappointed in Paul Mooney that I cant. He was awful, maybe one funny joke. Seemed as if he was high out of his mind. The service was below average, took over an hour to get water even. Food was out of the question. I attribute that to poor staffing by the theatre. But as far as the show overall, Dick Gregory saved the day. Very unexpected.

Paul Mooney was very good as usual, but a little slow. I loved Dick Gregory's act. He was very vibrant and spry for his age. I think he has far more energy than I do. He had quite a few jokes that made me really think. He was the absolute best.

Poor Paul Mooney was completely out of it during his performance. He spoke about nothing and rambled on. The whole audience was looking around as to ask "are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Not sure if he's sick or what's going on with him but he really should retire. We've seen him at least 10 times and we've never experienced anything like this. So sad to see the decline of a comic genius!

I really enjoyed the show! As someone who watches a lot of Dick Gregory's stand up and listens to his interviews via YouTube it was great to see the legend in person. He didn't disappoint me at all combining humor with deep societal critiques. Would love to see him again!

Dick Gregory, at 85, has lost nothing. He is as acerbic and irreverent as ever. After seeing Joe Morton play him on the stage, I wanted to see the real man. He did not disappoint. See him while you can.

I don't know if it was the sound system and the fact that Dick Gregory didn't always keep the microphone at his mouth during his delivery. The 75% of what I heard was awesome, the other 25% was lost due to his inaudible whispers with the mic away from his mouth. Visually It was cute, but not at the expense my inability to hear his wisdom.

This is the first and the last time myself and friends will ever attended SH. We were very excited about seeing our favorite comedians and were terribly disappointed and shocked! Although I am heartbroken about the obvious mental/physical health condition of Paul Mooney, SH should have known he was ill and not hired him to perform. Additionally, the sound system is of poor quality and should be replaced, immediately. The musicians could not be heard properly, the music was too loud and muffled and the choice of performers - bad! (with the exception of the African American Violinist who saved the night musically). SH cannot afford to display such low quality performance art as it is a beautiful city landmark and the institution should be looked after with care and professionalism. Patrons should be able to choose where they want to be seated during the purchasing of tickets and the snack selection needs improvement beyond cheese doodles and soda. Altogether, this poor management of a monumentally important institution is not only bad for business but done in poor taste - it lowers standards. We want to be refunded!

The building was decrepit and cold. Pieces of the walls and plaster were on the ground with no heat in the auditorium. The hosts of the event would walk out onto the stage during the opening acts to inform the current acts to wrap up. The opening act Paul Mooney wasn't prepared and just rambled non-stop.

I felt like I was at Apollo live not a comedy show. I thought the performers were excellent very talented people that part was good. I thought I was going to see Dick Gregory and Paul Mooney but it was more about the performers which were very good. Id give the performers a five I rated three for the comedy part which was about 20 mins each Dick and Paul weren't on the stage long enough

First off I went to the show because I love the two comedians Mr. Gregory and Mr. Mooney. Show started on time however there was no HEAT in the theater! !! I found out it was a four hour show the audience had no idea two in a half hours was music and acts we never heard before. .. I will say some of the talent was good just to long. ... now for the sad news. .paul Mooney was no where near his best I don't know if its his health but he was a BIG let down. . Must of been on stage for 30 minutes and told 10 minutes of jokes. ... Dick Gregory was good and managed to keep crowd in there seats. .. the mc for the show did way to much preaching and lecturing to the crowd which was turning people off. .... overall it wasn't customer friendly in terms of comfort and people's time. ..its not a show Iwould recommend unless they fix the problems I saddress.

I was disappointed by the way the organizers planned the night. Mr. Mooney seemed very distracted and at times unfocused. Mr. Gregory was good but the MCs were unprofessional and I think that had an effect on how the headliners behaved.

Although you can tell dick is getting up there in age, he still has is classic wit about him. Such an experience to see him in person, between the Howard theater and its history this show was truly something that even had he been terrible (which he most certainly was not), at 80 years old and with a personal history as inspiring as his performances its something I will be telling my kids about.

Dick Gregory's anecdotes were too funny. Even though the show was a reasonable length, I wish the show was a little longer.

I really enjoyed and was very entertained at Mr. Gregory's show on Sunday, October 10. He was incrediably funny and kept things "real" as he amused the audience in telling facts about the injustices in the black community, while the white community has always and continues to enjoy the priviledges of the American Dream! He provided me with a new way of viewing the realities of the so called "American Dream". I laughed so hard that tears ran down my face many times. Mr. Gregory is a living legend and witnessed many injustices in the black community. I greatly appreciated the fact that he shared his lifetime of experiences and knowledge in a manner which brought happy tears as opposed to tears of anger!

Mr. Gregory's "intellectual" comedy not only makes you laugh, but really examine how we think and live.

He still has the biting wit, the edgy racial sence of humor he had when I was in high school, making all the members of the audience uncomfortable at one time or another.
