This concert was phenomenal. Explosions in the Sky is the great kind of band that doesn't have to use words to make the audience feel something. I loved being able to just sit in wonder and awe.

The venue was hands down, one of thee best places to see a band like this. Not only was the music incredible, but the light show added so much to the performance, add the fact that we were outdoors, so the trees and mountains added to the overall ambiance. Had the sky been clear, and the stars shining bright, and it would have been a perfect night. EITS had a set that, although was about an hour and half, left you wanting more, while Holy Fuck got the crowd pumped with their incredibly energetic opening. Overall, if these two bands play this venue together again, it's a must see. I honestly did not want the night to end.

Explosions was awesome! And so was The Octopus Project! The venue is a cool place, too, nice and open and whatnot. The additional 33%+ in services "fees" and "convenience charges" were not cool. I'll never understand why I have to spend the amount required to purchase 3 tickets, yet only actually getting 2 out of the deal..

This was my second time seeing Explosions in the Sky, and is was also my second time seeing The Octopus Project. Neither failed to blow me away! The Octopus Project always keeps audiences captivated by switching up instruments on the fly during a song, even trading guitars back and forth or swapping a drum set for a bass guitar, only to jump to a theremin for a great solo! Explosions plays with such passion, emotion, and musicianship - there really is nothing else like them in the world of music today. Their songs captivate your mind and really inject the feelings the band had when writing the songs. With titles like "Birth and Death of the Day" you're sure to be taken to a special place that only Explosions can take you. Entirely instrumental, Explosions is sure to entertain with ripping guitar riffs, driving percussion segments, and moments of perfect tranquility before plunging into the heart of an amazing finale.

The band was awesome, unfortunately as can be the case in standing room only type shows, it was really difficult to see the stage (Deluxe @ Old National Center). Either the stage wasn't high enough or everyone there was really tall (or both). The sound was great though, even though I couldn't see most of the time. From what I could see and hear the band was incredible, they played with tons of energy and emotion that clearly show in their performance and sound. I highly recommend seeing Explosions in the Sky, probably would see them again at a different venue.

What a Journey! 5 of the 11 songs played were from the new album, The Wilderness, plus some classics. "The wilderness" itself departs from the long & explosion building songs, and listening it live is a complete difference . The whole concert was like a One non stop song. One of the best concerts ever

Can you say an "Explosions in the Sky" show was explosive? Gonna anyway. From first note to last this band blew the sold out crowd away. I recommend seeing them whenever they are back in your town. Have to say that The Fillmore was an amazing venue. Clean, upscale, and the acoustics were great!

I just wish people had been quieter. Lots of talking during the softer, prettier bits of music. Was hard to enjoy the ambiance. There were a few bits where the music was too loud to enjoy.....all you cold hear was loud static.

This show was amazing. This band just keeps on making absolutely beautiful music and their track selection for this show was a great blend of old and new. This band is absolutely phenomenal live. It's as if they are the conduits of something so deep and spiritual words can not explain. Their music is truly special to me and I look forward to seeing them continue to grow in their musical journey and seeing them live many more times in the future.

I've enjoyed listening to Explosions in the Sky for years, but seeing them live was a mistake. In concert, at some point, all the music just turns to loud noise and took on an oddly violent quality. I've always found their music peaceful, but at the show, the amps and speakers were cranked way up to the point that the place was shaking and people were headbanging. I'm so glad I had earplugs.

The show was really great. I had no idea what to expect. They put on an amazing performance and one that I will definitely remember. Being an instrumental band - it's a lot different than other concerts where the focus is on vocal. Here the focus is on the music and those that play it. You can truly see that they are all playing with the heart and soul. The opening band was great too and a good way to get the crowd ready for the main act. I would totally see Explosions in the Sky live again. I hope they tour again in the future.

I've seen lots of concets over the past 40+ yers, and I'm not saying this is the best show I've ever seen, but I'll never forget it. Like may bands, their live performance outshadows their studio CDs. They came out, said, "We're really honored to be playing in the room for you. We're from Texas." That's all they said until the end. They played straight through without a pause between tunes. I can't say I've ever seen another band do that. I thought the music was great, from the quiet passages to the thundering parts. I hope these guys catch on and gain some momentum. I will definitely see them again when I can.

What makes Explosions so awesome is the passion and emotion behind every string and every snare....they play with such high tensity that really makes the musical experience real and authentic. I think that anyone who is a fan would agree that they rocked the show. First off, it was my first time at Radio City Music Hall and the venue in itself is a majestic experience. Regarding the show, Eluvium is always a pleasure to drift off with and was a great show opener. It was my first time ever hearing Low and I was certainly not disappointed. They are one of those bands that catch you the first time around, even while incorporating vocals in a show that catered to predominantly instrumental (wordless) music listeners. I have had the fortunate pleasure to experience Explosions in the Sky two times before this show. Although I did enjoy having the opportunity to see and hear them in more intimate venues, Radio City, though anything but small, did come through in the acoustics department. When EITS were playing, the sound techs were frequently covering their ears. I have never been to a show where I felt utterly embraced by sound. It felt as though the open space one could see was merely an illusion, the audience immobilized by a vibrating air that was all encompassing. EITS is a talented group of individuals that everyone should experience live before they die. Being present for one of their shows is one of the best ways to understand the true potential of art that cannot be seen, but felt.

Yeah...It was fantastic! Contrary to one blogger I read, I thought the sound was great at Stage AE, but I was right down front 15 feet from the stage. The lights and sound were infinitely better than what was offered Saturday night at Outland Live in Columbus. I was pretty psyched to be SO close to the stage!

Explosions in the Sky is one of the greatest instrumental bands. I loved hearing The Birth and and Death of the Day, Human Qualities, Disintegration Anxiety, and Your Hand in Mine, I really enjoyed the moment when it looked like they were performing inside a cloud. This band has been putting on excellent shows for years but the full production of their concerts now are truly incredible. The lighting, sound, and overall performance from the band is out of this world. This was my first time seeing Explosions after years of fanning and i was thoroughly impressed. You could feel the chemistry between the band members. They even tapped into the crowds nostalgia by performing a few tracks from they're older album- including "your hand in mine" and "first breath after coma". Explosions were amazing. Great musicianship and lights. Totally worth it. There was very little to no time between songs, just kept going. But the ending was rather abrupt. The venue was Detroit Masonic Temple Theater. We waited outside until the start, 8:00, which the ticket said was the start. Then the opening band didn't start until 9:00 pm, and Explosions didn't start until 10 pm, so that seemed weird and unpleasant to me. But, first time I saw EITS and they really were so very good. The vast majority of people that came seemed to think that talking through the entire concert was a good idea. The drone of inane conversation never let up. I had to move 4 times before I found a space without people yelling sitting right next to me. Would have been better to watch videos on youtube, which some of the people there were doing. Opener was good, and so was the main act. Beautiful venue, just full of awful people. I cannot believe that this stupid website recommends people to upload videos, as though they didn't know enough ways to ruin a perfectly good concert already.

Despite the confusing hustle of Boston and the the dated, chilly, squeezed-in venue with broken and tight seats, the decision to really get up and see these two bands was absolutely the right thing to do. I didn't know who was opening the show, but entering the venue, the merch tables told me all I needed to know. "The Antlers", an amazing ambient type indie rock band has had my attention for some time now and stole my ears with their album "Hospice". They opened the show with such beautiful grace and sound that it just seemed to capture everyones attention right away. I saw multiple fans get up and come back with everything from posters to cds to T-shirts. "Explosions In The Sky" came out with a very down-to-Earth vibe, and seemed to have something big set up from the get go. It seemed there may be some light effects or some type of show that may happen on top of their phenomenal instrumentals, but after a a few minutes, it was clear they were just there to rock and have some fun. This set was amazing, just a constant go of sound with some really intense moments where even the air seemed lost among the instruments. Towards the end of the hour and a half set, being an instrumental band did seem to take away the hold of interest for quite a few fans and I noticed a lot less head nodding and over all enthusiasm, but they ended well and didn't pretend to be rock stars and set up an encore which I completely respect. Bottom line here seems to be, if you haven't seen these bands and are into mellow, ambient, rock n' roll, definitely take some time and check them out. Overall, I think it was an amazing show and shouldn't be missed.

Pretty good concert overall, the Antlers played great!, I haven't heard from them but I really liked their music, they reminded me of when I saw Grizzly Bear a few years ago, but also reminded me a little bit of Sigur Ros which is great. Then Explosions came out and The Only Moment We Were Alone was the opening track and they played it just like in the record. Unfortunately, I didn't feel the new songs were as good as the songs from the first three records. Loved when they played Six Days At The Bottom Of The Ocean. This show last night was amazing and was well worth the wait. The Antlers were very good and better than expected. I m actually looking forward to picking up some of their music. The highlight obviously was Explosions in the Sky who played for 2 hours and maybe a little bit pass that mark. They opened up with Your Hand In Mine and continued rocking out till the very end. While I didn t get to hear my favorite song, A Poor Man s Memory , they more than made up for it by playing hits like A Song for our fathers , To West Texas , and Yasmin Lights. The band impressed me with their strength of sound, their ability to blend in theatrics, and their ability to get the audience involved. The excitement of the crowd oozed throughout the venue, the cries of joy over their performance were numerous, and well deserved. By the end you were exhausted from being so blown away by their mastery and the only regret was that they had to leave. It took me a while to get to see Explosions in the Sky but I made a promise to myself that I will see them again and soon. In an era of copycat musical production and promotion Explosions in the Sky is a hidden gem of musical invention and pure talent. Even in this economy this is a band worth paying to travel to see and I know they ll continue to create a fresh sound for a new era.

The Antlers performed a solid opening show. Explosions in the Sky were solid. Came out, said hello, played for 90 minutes straight, said goodbye. The sound was great, the performance was spot on. Nothing out of the ordinary for them, but very pleasurable.

Absolutely awesome band. I've seen a lot of bands for a lot of years and Explosions live is one of the best live shows you can currently see. Recommend them to others and support post rock.....they take music to a higher level.

These guys were incredible but the show was way too short. I think they played about 6 songs and no encore. Given the nature of their music, I expected a whole lot more.

Awesome show at The Fillmore in Denver last night (9/13/11). Played some old cuts as well several new ones ending the show with "Let Me Back In". My only grips is they played for only 1 hour and 11 minutes.

What an awesome time. We had a group of around 15 people and we all bought tickets off ticketmaster. If you guys need any of the pictures from the show then we'd love to send some over.

I had heard that EITS played their entire set without any breaks, much like their albums, but nothing I had been told could have prepared me for the euphoria they induced while I swayed with the rest of the crowd. Very humbly EITS came on stage, thanking the crowd, the venue (which was almost as amazing as EITS), and those backstage. They seemed like very respectable guys; and then they attacked my senses with unapologetic ferocity. Their 90 minute set seemed to pass as quickly as the burrito I had had earlier that day, but with more vitality. The only thing that would have made this concert even better is if the crowd had demanded more. The band finished their last song, thanked everyone once more, and walked off stage. This was the first band I have seen in years that didn't leave the stage expecting an encore. And for that reason, plus the fact that they had just rocked my world, I felt they deserved one. Maybe the crowd was still caught up in the battle they had just witnessed each band memeber have with his instruments, maybe they felt that there could be nothing better than what they had just seen, or maybe they were deterred by the overhead lights starting to shine; but if you ask me, the only thing I was left with was the want for more.

Soooooo goood. They played most of my favorite songs (nearly died of happiness when they played Your Hand in Mine!), and it made for a terrific evening with my friends. Thank you thank you thank you for coming out to the East Bay!!

Explosions in they Sky was the most intense and passionate show I have ever been to. The lighting and ambiance of the Fox Theater was perfect for them, and even up in the balcony I felt like I was in a dream and they were mere feet away. They never stopped between songs, filling the space with loops of feedback and noise. Only acknowledging the crowd before the first and after the last song, they lost themselves completely in the music.

It was my first time at Fox Theatre and the show was captivating! Beautiful lights and nicely decorated. The only things that were a downer was the potheads smoking up the place and a few moments wen the amps were kinda off tune. Other than that it was amazing, it was the first time I saw a full house to see a show that was instrumental.

Sounded great but the whole show sounded like one song. This is a band I love on CD but there was no musical dynamics from song to song.

The show was really thrilling from the first notes played to the end. I didn't know what to expect and they revealed as good sounding as on the studio albums with all the extra power you could ask live. The emotion was there as the whole crowd was bouncing to the riffs and getting crazy at the end of each song's crescendo. Amazing. Hard to get back to reality as the show didn't last long on a minus part.

This was my second Explosions concert and I was blown away yet again. They are simply breathtaking live and anyone who has even the smallest interest in this band should go to one of their concerts!
