It was just him and his guitar, but the music filled up the theatre. What a beautiful experience! Loved his stories about his time during the filming of Life Aquatic.

Aucustic masterpiece. Not a fast paced concert. David Bowie would have enjoyed the music himself

Great show! Play one song twice, not sure if that was intentional or not. Very nice of him to give credit to all of the sound guys and help.

The show was high energy very entertaining, I would definitiely see him again.

I thought the show was great, however, I would have loved hea hear more songs that I am familiar with. I also thought he took a little too long in between the final song and encore. Seu Jorge has one of the most amazing voices and his dances on stage were fun and playful.

The show did not meet my expectations. Seu Jorge needs to be reminded that most of his public is Brazilian. Even though this is a project with ALMAZ we were expecting him to song songs from his previous albums. The band was good and talented, but overall it lacked on its setlist.

Seu Jorge is a legendary performer. His live show with his new band encompasses everything that he is about musically, theatrically and artistically. He connects simultaneously with the American and Brazilian audiences and everyone unites in reciprocating him with joy, passion and love. A must see performer if you ever have the chance!

It was excellent , not only for Brazilian audience. It had a good mix of Rock 'n Roll , Jazz , and Brazilian. Excellent musicians, and his beautiful soothing voice.

The only thing that could have made the show better was if Bill Murray and William Defoe had stepped on stage and sung a song with Seu.

I was mostly surprised how different this music was from Seu Jorge's past music releases. I still love his music but this album will not be one that I will buy because it was more rock than bossa nova or samba...I was left wanting more of his older music.

If you love Seu Jorge's "Carolina" and "Cru" you will be disappointed by the new sound with the band. Picture a room full of Brazilians and no one dancing.

When I found out the night before the show that Seu Jorge and Almaz were going to be playing the Firestone Live venue, I was immediately excited. The Brazilian psych-rock/groove/lounge/Brazilian vocal god Seu Jorge, know for his distinctly deep, gravelly voice and honeyed Portuguese, came on stage and immediately, the air was alive with the rich rhythms and brilliant sound of Almaz; perfectly blended rhythms, combined with the tangy sound of Brazilian samba and rock created an atmosphere that was so funky, the entire crowd grooved together in harmony. Seu Jorge and Almaz's sound was perfectly suited for the slightly impaired acoustics at Firestone live; in fact, more than once I found myself entranced by the beats and dancing continously. This show will go down as one of my all-time favorites and I have not yet been able to stop listening to the album. I could have done without the opening band, which played for too long and the lead singer had a voice slightly less annoying than a cuban tree frog. Great show!!!

Seu Jorge definitely has a great voice, but I was expecting to hear some of his old songs. His new stuff seems to be a bit more intense, and it just wasn't what I expected. I understand he's trying to get people into his new album, but the whole reason why people go is to hear some of his samba influenced music. It could have been better, but I still love Seu Jorge, and I hope to see him again playing his great hits!.

Before the event even commenced, Seu Jorge was kind enough to greet and chat with his fans including myself. He showed a great appreciation for his fans of many backgrounds including his native Brazil. He was very approachable and humble. He seems to be a man who emitted positive vibes with a genuine love for his craft and his fans. The event was lively and personal. After the event he stayed and signed records and CDs of his new album with Almaz. I enjoyed the event very much, definitely one the best, if not the best live music event I've been to.

Love love love the concert! My friends and I were just very disappointed about the delay to start. We got there at 8pm (as announced to start) and the concert started 10:30p. Nothing to distract us from the wait, no place to seat... But the Almaz band and Seu Jorge are awesome artists. Love them!

the show was terrrible because i wait until 10.30pm and I did not see seu jorge ...and i asked for my money back and a very hude lady on the door told me I can not have the money and I asked for sit she told me I can not sit....was terrible

The concert started half an hour late, and only lasted for an hour and a Half, while the performance of seu jorge was superb as always, he just concentrated in the new stuff and gave us very very little of the old stuff that made him famous and drove us there Sincerely, I expected way more from him, it was not bad, but it was a letdown

Not only a talented musician with a spectacular voice, it was also a comedic experience with Seu as he told stories about how he became an actor and eventually got the phone call that put him on the map. The Life Aquatic put his accent and talents to use while he had to learn David Bowie songs on the fly then perform them in his own style while recording the film on the boat. Highly recommend this show to anyone who is a David Bowie fan or just loves live music with style.

Very intimate concert of an amazingly talented, versatile and charming artist, seu Jorge. Unforgettable event-hope to see more of him in the future!

An humble artist that has music flowing through his veins. Bowie was present and smiling. Life on Mars had me sobbing with no shame. Thank you, Jorge.

Seu Jorge sounded great and I had a good time at the show. However the description of the event when I purchased these rather expensive tickets was not accurate. Advertising for this concert said that throughout the concert screens shaped as boat sales would have scenes from the movie The Life Aquatic projected onto them. There were no screens shaped like boat sales and only at the very end of the concert did they show some clips from the movie onto a small square screen. These images had a calidascope effect to them and strange animation added. I bought these tickets because I was led to believe that I would be listening to these songs while seeing scenes from the movie and this was far from the case. I do not plan on going to this venue again.

Unique. Memorable. Moving. Humble guy. In short, purchased the poster to trigger emotions of his performance.

Music amazing. However, bought VIP tickets that included some merchandise like posters. When we arrived, the guys at the merch table had no idea what we were talking about and would not give a poster even though we were informed, by email, that were to pick up at the merchandise table. And apparently we were not the only ones to have this problem. Supposedly, we were supposed to get additional stuff in the mail too and that has not arrived. So, great show. Seu Jorge is one of the best singers in the world. The people organizing the show clearly messed up and dampened this experience for us.

Seu Jorge the artist portrayed as a singing sailor in Wes Anderson's "The Life Aquatic came to New York to showcase David Bowie and the film. He appeared as a humble, carefree man who's covers of David Bowie's early classics are filled with life, love, humor and, at times, pathos. Even after doing a full set of about 12 songs he came back to the stage and performed songs from the movie with the scenes projected behind him. It was a fun and enjoyable night out and anyone who can, check out the show when it comes to your local Town Hall.

Hands down the most beautiful tribute to David Bowie. Seu Jorge is a master!

I have never been to the Luckman Theatre. Let me tell you, it's the best place to see such an intimate concert like Seu Jorge.

AMAZING..... The venue was clean and very well organized, starting from parking and they even email me the day before with great directions on how to get there and where to park. They had PPP to help you get to your seat. This concert was by far the best concert I've been to. Besides Seu Jorger is unbelievably amazing. His voice his charisma just perfect besides his awesome energy.

Classy, elegant, moving, deep, sexy. Seu George was awesome. Crowd was happy, he and his band looked happy. This guy is huge in Brazil and obviously making gains in the US. I don't speak Portuguese at all but the message in his music is moving. His Bowie covers are amazing. The guitar was beautiful. It felt like a conversation between him and the audience. He also gave the Brazilians in the crowd a couple of Brazil favorites which were received by jumping into the isle and dancing like every good Brazilian should do. Great evening at the Luckman.

One of the best acoustic concerts I have been to. Seu Jorge was in top form, playing all the best hits and some other classic Brazilian songs. I was really impressed with this show, would recommend it for any fan !!!

Wow. I have loved Seu Jorge ever since I first listened to the song " quem não quer sou" his voice literally sends chills down my back! I had seen his concerts on YouTube and let me tell you, you will not be disappointed if you go see Seu Jorge. I took my sister who had no idea who he was and she loved him!!! He is exceptional in person. He is a great performer, very humble... after he ended the show he gave us all his thanks, bowed down to us, and walked away. Everybody stood up to give an applause and he walked off. The clapping did not stop for minutes and then Seu Jorge and his two percussionists entered the stage once again. Oh wow he is such a gentleman to come back and sing a few more songs for us :) the concert was great! You will love it!! Of course my only complaint is that I wish it would have been longer :( I can't wait to see him again.

I was at the show when Seu Jorge came to NYC to perform with his band Almaz. It was a wish for a long time to see him LIVE here and I was happy. He is so talented! I want to go back and visit Brazil...woo hoo!!

Aquele cara Seu Jorge é realmente um musico... This guy has so much talent... This concert was amazing because his mnusic was up beat, I didn~t expect him to play the things he played, he had style, his music was versatile, and he played a few instruments... that~s what I call a musician.

Please bring him back every 6 months at least. He is a real cultural artist

I'm so happy I finally got to see Seu Jorge live at club venue. I saw him last year at the Hollywood Bowl with Bebel Gilberto and although he was great, I felt we didin't get enough of him. For years his vocie has given me chills and I was so happy that he performed some of his older stuff. I had a great time and would jump at any future opportunity to see him live again. He was great and so was Almaz.

overall the show was good and worth going too especially in that venue since it was so small, but when seu jorge first came out he seemed too relaxed and did not get the crowd pumped up who sat for half the show. People started standing up and dancing toward the end of the show probably around the last 4 songs. I wish he had played an acoustic set also but he did played some favorite david bowie songs on a solo electric guitar which was sweet. but his energy was way different from when i first saw him at cochella a few years back before he blew up from the life aquatic movie at least for us americans.

The show was awesome... Club Nokia was the perfect venue for Seu Jorge and Almaz. The crowd had great energy and was singing, dancing, and cheering the whole time. The band was incredible... tight performance, amazing musicianship. Was an unforgettable night for me (and for my girlfriend who had no clue who Seu Jorge was too)!

Seeing Seu Jorge was one of my most incredible experiences I've ever had! He has amazing presence & one of the most amazing voices out there! Club Nokia is a gorgeous venue & is incredibly well done! Great experience & will definitely go to another event there & recommend it to friends & everyone!

The venue for this type of show was perfect. I am a Seu Jorge fan. The band he had behind him was a treat as well. The five of them filled the room with passion,good energy and your feet did the rest,they did not stop moving.

Seu Jorge is humble, funny, warm, kind and interprets the work of David Bowie with such tenderness and insight. All of the other tributes are soooooooooo pale and superficial in comparison because Seu Jorge's interpretation does not really on hype, name recognition or pathetic show-biz theatrics (i.e., the Grammys "tribute"...'nuff said)...it is instead, pure soul.... tapping into the heart of the mystery and beauty of David Bowie. For any real fan of David Bowie, this is a must-must-see. It was transcendent, respectful and absolutely wonderful.

Not only was the atmosphere amazing for fostering the overlay and tones of the range of instruments, but the variety of style of music was of great interest. Seu Jorge is a very talented individual and does not disappoint...both solo and with his band, the show was incredible and featured both classic Seu Jorge as well as some "American English songs".

fantastic show! It was intimate, alive & energetic. It was great to see him do a few tracks from his previous albums. Show was full but not a sell out, too bad (or good) he's not better known in the Bay Area. Again, definite must see.

I've been a long-time fan of Seu Jorge, but this is the first time that I've been able to see him live. I was not disappointed. His voice is amazing in person -- even better than the recordings -- and Almaz totally jammed out. The chemistry between him and the band was palpable. Not bad for the first stop of the North American tour. The set list was strictly from the new album, so don't go there expecting he's going to play "Carolina" or some of his older hits. But if you're a fan and you get a chance to see Seu Jorge, don't pass it up!

Amazing music by a gifted singer in a great venue.

what a voice!! This guy plays guitar incredibly well, has the most amazing voice, and tells really funny stories. the woman I took to the show with me had never heard of Seu Jorge, but walked away wanting to hear more of his music. The room was beautiful, with great acoustics. and the crowd was totally into it, which made the show even more enjoyable. I would go to see Seu Jorge anywhere, and will definitely visit the Broward Performing Arts Center to see some other artists

The voice is awesome, but the choice of the music wasn't so good. Just Seu Jorge and a guittar, very boring. He didn't sing anyone of the most singles. And he talk too much. It doesn't worth the price.

After I accepted the fact that he would only sing in Portugese, I definitely enjoyed this show. However, a non-Bowie true fan may not love it as much as I did.

There are many paths that can lead to that extraordinary concert. You can be a Wes Anderson fan, as I am, enchanted by his creations and delighted by his universe. You therefore probably saw The Aquatic Life of Steve Zissou and discovered Seu Jorge as Pele Dos Santos, and heard his music in the film... Or you can be a David Bowie fan and have stumbled across Seu Jorge's covers of some of his most iconic songs, in Portuguese with a Brazilian feel that is just contagious. Or you can be a Seu Jorge fan... Or you may have had an incredible stroke of luck and inspiration, walked by the venue and decided to look for this curious crossover. No matter how you get to that show, you will drown in a state of intense reverie and humor, you will laugh and be stricken in your core by the beauty of Seu Jorge's voice, his humble and simple approach to Bowie's work, his gratefulness to Wes Anderson and his personal anecdotes on how he got to be attached to the project and what world it opened for him. The music was already beautiful. Seu Jorge's rendition is poetic and joyful... In my case, I am a Wes Anderson fan, a Bowie fan, and a Seu Jorge fan... Yet I know, if I had been none of that, if I had known neither of the three, I would have felt the same ecstasy as I did during this show which only shortcoming, is that it was too short... It would have been too short if it had been two hours longer anyway.

The even was just incredible, a simple stage all by himself but with great lighting to improve experience and his sound was superb, I saw Eddie Vedder acoustic in the same venue and Seu Jorge was better.

I wish I could see him again in the same venue, spectacular!

Less than 60 minutes show and once he finished he didn't come back on stadium besides the audience waited and applauded for 5 minutes straight. I heard he didn't appreciate the requests for songs outside that album, which sounds like a immature singer would react (shouldn't he be happy that people actually like his other songs?). Arrogant end.

Seu Jorge is a gifted musician in his own right so it was a treat to hear his rendition of a Brazilian classic and a couple of his own songs. His Bowie covers are soulful and truly stirring. Thought he was a good sport to wear the Life Aquatic gear onstage. Unnecessary. Anyhow, obrigado Seu!

Admittedly, "Seu Jorge presents The Life Aquatic: A Tribute to David Bowie" is a bit of a niche interest for some. But if you're like me and you 1) love David Bowie, 2) love Wes Anderson films, and 3) love Latin American music, you couldn't ask for a more perfect combination of the three. Even if you only find yourself in one of those camps, you would absolutely enjoy this concert. Seu is an immensely talented musician, and a great performer. He's warm and funny and candid, and his arrangements of classic Bowie songs highlight how beautifully they can transcend genre.

There's no question Seu Jorge is a remarkable and soulful artist capable of making a house as large as the Beacon feel as intimate as if you're seated in his living room. That said, I have to say concert-going audiences leave a lot to be desired. Whatever happened to respecting the artist and your fellow audience members? A thirty-something couple actually brought two of their newborns to the show, both strapped into their baby bjornes and feeding in the fourth row. The young woman seated next to me was bored and listless, constantly texting on her iPhone while two of the people in front of me insisted on using their phones to videotape nearly the entire concert. This is a live event folks - and despite the intimate environment Seu Jorge created, you're NOT in his living room

Seu Jorge was a great concert. He told little anecdotes in between the songs. He was funny, sweet, and engaging. His voice is phenomenal, and he is an extremely talented guitar player. Although his songs were in Portuguese, it was still so lovely to listen to him. Great concert, highly recommended.

It's one of the rare few shows I've seen that you could hear a pin drop during a performance. Everyone their was genuinely there to see a great show. And wow it was. Simply amazing. I hope he comes back. Fan before,even bigger now

This was one of the most exciting concerts I have been to in ages. If not one of the best. I went with a friend who has been to hundreds of concerts and he was BLOWN away. The venue was great, the staff were friendly, the crowd size was right but mostly Seu Jorge, we are still dancing to the music!

Any fan of the Life Aquatic has been dreaming of this concert for years now. The venue and show were perfectly orchestrated. the support staff and Jorge himself all made this an enjoyable experience.

The only bad thing was the Pageant doesn't let you bring a water bottle in - even an empty one. The show itself was amazing, wonderful music, acoustics, lighting. Seu Jorge is phenomenal.

My wife and I loved this show of Seu Jorge singing and playing his guitar, and sharing the story of how he came to be involved in the Life Aquatic album, soundtrack, and movie. Video was introduced later in the show which was fun. It was great hearing Seu's interpretations of David Bowie songs.
