I bought a VIP ticket for the music fest. Early in the day it was wonderful except, the 30 min bathroom line! They had 2 bathrooms for the whole VIP area. As the day went on & the line got longer I decided it was quicker to walk around the whole venue to use the port-o-let. This was a huge inconvenience for me, being I had a broken ankle!!! Next thing was they ran out of food very early! I was waiting for them to bring more, when the caterer walked up and said NO MORE!!! We had a contract for 600 plates and we ve already doubled that! I was stuck eating 3 dinner rolls! (Unacceptable!!!). I don t really drink that much so I was looking forward to the food which I got NONE!!!! I heard that you only sold 350 VIP tickets. But the problem was they forgot to collect or tear the tickets after we entered vip. So after some got their bracelets , they would walk out and give tickets to their friends!!! By the end of the night it was more crowded in VIP then the General Admission! Lastly, towards the end of the night they also ran out of Miller lite!!! I thought $125 was a bargain, but at the end of the day I left satisfied w the music but very disappointed with the rest!

They said rain or shine show will go on. Well it got cancelled Friday by 10pm. I don't care about 311 but I wanted to see sublime and third eye blind. Luckily sublime came back saturday to play. There "free" food was bad and they didn't have enough food to feed everybody who bought the VIP passes, we didn't get any of the food Friday and only one small bowl of food Saturday but you had to be there as soon as they started serving it. The only good thing about the VIP tickets were the free drinks which they were stocked up on pretty well. However the VIP viewing are of the stage was filled with people with chairs. You couldn't hardly get close cuz everyone had chairs right in front of the stage. Oh and since Friday got cancelled everyone who bought single day tickets Friday got in for free saturday. And us people who got weekend tickets ahead of time didn't get anything. I will never buy VIP again. The only part that was worth it was the free drinks. The bands were great except the femmes they killed the party. Ying yang twins and cypress hill killed it they started that party everyone was pumped and the femmes killed everyone Vibe. Luckily ludacris and kid rock were rocking good.

I'm a true metal fan from way back. But, I also grew up listening to early rap. Sir Mix-A-Lot was the best of the rap acts all weekend. Even though he had a short set time. And The Pretty Reckless just topped Friday off after him. Unfortunately the rains ended Fri. early. Saturday was great weather all around. All the bands brought it hard. I loved Violent Femmes playing their first CD start to finish. And then Kid Rock tore it up to finish out the Festival.

First night was cancelled early due to storms. You were not able to leave and come back in after 6. Given the fact that the better performers were on later and there were no options to sit down...it made for a long expensive night. Main performance came on an hour late too. Glad we went but probably wouldn't do it again.

I was enjoying the event Friday night until the Torrential downpour started, which I know is not the fault of the people putting on the show. I was very dissappointed that we did not get to see 311 or Third Eye Blind, but was very glad to see Sublime come back Saturday. I think that it was unfair to the people that paid for both days that people that only paid for a ticket Friday got to get in for free on Saturday. Were is the compensation for the honest people that pay??? Other than that I think Saturday turned out great. And on another note the prices for drinks and food were off the wall. I don't see how you can pay the same thing for a soft drink as you do for a beer.

You can't control the weather. Too bad 311 cancelled bc of thunder. What happened to third eye blind ? Seems like Friday schedule could've been twerked by the producers to push up 311if they knew they were insured. Aside from that disappointment , it was a blast. Plenty of space, good music, nice people. Water should be cheaper than 5 bucks unless the goal is to dehydrate . My first Mississippi concert. I would do it again

Paid twice as much for no reason first day got to see three performances before the rain shut it all down. Thousands of people herded under a metal roof pavilion during a massive thunderstorm. Lightning striking all around cutting the power off. So second day tickets useless since first day tickets could be used.. Not happy.

May 2013 - Made the trek from Vancouver, BC, Canada area all the way to Gulfport, Mississippi to visit the area and attend the Gulfport Music Festival (loved One Republic). We liked Gulfport and everything it has to offer...but the Gulfport Music Festival was a letdown - filthy toilets, no TP, vendor trucks blocking walkways, and lack of communication re delays were the order of the day. Organizers need to get organized if they want to be a world-class music festival and attract visitors.

I'm a huge fan of both Maroon 5 and Gym Class Heros, so this was an amazing event to come see both perform. They seemed really down to earth and excited to be there and I think that made all the difference to how we took the performance. There were long pauses in between performance from the different artist which I guess was a good time for bathroom breaks and snacking. But the food options were ok, nothing much and a bit expensive but ok. I think there should've been a little more shading but since it was on a fairground it made sense that there wasn't much. Overall, I had an awesome at the event and so did my siblings.

This was a great music festival. We travelled from Ft. Worth to Biloxi to see the show. The weather was great & the music was even better. Our Tickets indicated Row & Seat however is was on the lawn so we didn't know we should bring our own chairs. This was a drag at first but by the time the concern started everyone was on there feet & pushed forward so we were actually very close to the stage. At least at that point we didn't have to contend with chairs too.

Great bands with three locations catering to local and national bands. Found quite a few from my home town that were new to me, was a great way for them to acquire more fans. The highlight of the day was Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship and Maroon 5 closing the day out! Maroon 5's live shows are awesome!

I feel that since the event was reduced to one day I should receive a partial refund. I didn't get to see all of the bands that I paid for, and the revised lineup was inaccurate, there were bands that were skipped over and the crowd wasn't offered an explanation, as if we wouldn't notice that Bubba Sparxxx didn't play.

Not happy at all with the Gulfport Music Festival, most of the good bands were cancelled, the "free" food was terrible and they ran out. There was only one bathroom, the security staff was rude. The whole event sucked. I was cheated out of an entire day of events, I should have gotten a refund! Not going ever again. The entire festival was thrown together with little to no thought or planning. The V.I.P. area was a joke, we were far from the stage and had to go to the general audience areas just to see the bands. Totally not worth it! Never again!

We really enjoyed Friday afternoon and evening lineup. Only wish festival could have started an hour later. I know weather threats impacted the weekend but most people could not get out of work on time to truly enjoy the festival. Case in point, I worked until 330pm last Friday and with traffic could not get down to festival until after Sister Hazel played.

Jones Park is a great location for a music festival. Tickets and pay-to-park were very reasonable. Hurricane Nate caused the event to condense to one day but the organizers did the right thing! Sister Hazel, Cracker, Quad City DJs, and Ludacris were great. Food trucks provided a variety of food. Plenty of drink options for everyone. We will be back!

Purchased 2 VIP tickets for 2 days of performances. I know they can t control the weather BUT you offer 2 days of concerts, food & drink included in turn you pay the same amount for NO food, a bottle of water (beer selection bad), 5 performers cut including 2 that I wanted to see, and only 1 day of concerts that starts at 2pm while I am still at work till 5pm. What a joke!!! Could have offered a refund since they took so much away! Still had to get our own food after leaving. Will NEVER GO TO ANOTHER ONE & this was my 1st one!

Music=good. VIP section=needs work. Unlimited beer was great; until you had to go pee. There was one bathroom trailer (2 stalls for men, 2 stalls for women). That's it. The line for the ladies room took forever because there were only two stalls. Unlimited food would have been amazing, but they ran out, and it took about 2 hours to replace. :( poor planning, I guess... I would give it one more shot next year, though.

Given weather situations, acts had to be all condensed to one day which was unavoidable. What could have been avoided was the advantage taken of people willing to pay for VIP passes! The VIP tent was not even large enough for all of the ticket holders to sit and relax. The food was pathetic, not to mention that the they ran out by 7:00 and many people didn t even get any. Who serves school cafeteria quality spaghetti and iceberg lettuce at a music festival? Beer options were minimal and if you re not a beer drinking, you forfeit that part of your money too. Also, the lines for the VIP bathrooms were horrendous. At $150/ea they really should have been able to accommodate the number of people they sold those tickets to. Also, the acts between the headliners were terrible. Overall, IF I decided to go to GMF in the future I would most definitely not be paying for VIP tickets.

They ran out of food, you had to stand in line for 45 mins for the restroom, it was faster to walk to general admission port o potty, they had poor selection of beverages, and far too many people sneaking into the vip area. My husband and I and our friends got VIP tickets for the weekend concert. Because of a hurricane they condensed the concert into one night. They let us in the gates about 15-20 minutes late and ended an hour early. The VIP tent ran out of food. The only food they served for dinner was cold spaghetti, which they ran out of. We were supposed to have VIP bathrooms. They only had 2 girls bathrooms so the lines were ridiculously long. It was quicker to leave VIP area and walk all the way over to the porta potties.

The VIP experience was severely lacking and appeared to be too much for the festival staff to handle. In the VIP area individual chairs were being allowed right up at the front of the stage viewing area. At least in the GA area, there were very distinct signs and markers that stated "no chairs beyond this point". Chairs should not have been allowed into the festival at all considering this was not a free concert. For the high volume of people with VIP wristbands, there was only one A/C bathroom trailer (2 for women, 2 for men). The line was at least 15 people deep at all times. It was quicker for me to walk across the festival GA area to the porta potties which actually had toilet tissue and were being maintained for cleanliness. While I understand there was a storm coming, these were issues that appeared to plague the festival regardless of the weather.

3 Doors Down was fantastic! Fuel and Cracker were great. Quad City DJ's were energetic and fun. Ludacris was disappointing. I was really looking forward to his show and it was bad enough we left halfway through. Despite losing a bunch of acts due to the hurricane and schedule being moved up, I thought they did a great job of making it the best it could be in the circumstances.

The idea was great. The hurricane made a 2 day event into a 1 day event, so that threw things off. I bought VIP tickets because we were promised a private bathroom, free food, and free drinks. Well, there was only 1 men's and 1 women's restroom, so the lines were extremely long. They ran out of food, and people were moving chairs from the eating/relaxing area, to right by the stage. I think this whole thing could have been organized better. All in all, though, I would buy the vip tickets again, for the sole purpose that there were way less people on our side. They were crammed like sardines on the other side. I would go again if they booked better bands. I really bought 2 tickets at $125 a pop to see Fuel and 3 Doors Down. Hopefully next year will have better bands, and hopefully they won't do it during the Cruisin the Coast weekend. Way too much road congestion.

Venue was cut in half bc of storm. Still had to pay full price. We got VIP tix. Food was terrible. Meatball and spaghetti & salad? Really? There were 2 restrooms for the entire area. There were probably 100 restrooms for the general area. I walked out and around the grounds to use general area bc restrooms were not being used. Highly disappointed. I really enjoyed the festival! I was just disappointed that Friday was a wash out. I wish the fact that my Friday ticket could have been used for Saturday would have been advertised more! I had several friends that would have liked to come & I could have given my ticket to one of them, and I know they would have spent some $$ at the festival! I also would have liked more drink options. I'm not a beer drinker AT ALL & they ran out of apple ale before dark...huge disappointment!! :(

My party of 3 found that Ludacris's remarks were racist. He did too much talking not enough singing. I would not buy tickets if he were to be appearing again! Kid Rock was a true performer, singing, dancing, rapping, mixing, playing the piano, and getting the crowd participation! I was very impressed with the security! There was an altercation starting near us and security came in and handled it swiftly, without it interfering with our experience.

I love this event and have been many times. However this year was not as enjoyable as it has been in the past. Although the tickets and advertisements state "rain or shine" three of the main acts did not play as scheduled the first night. the weather was incredibly bad and caused the electricity to go out twice. 311 did not stay to play the next day even though their next show was not scheduled till the following Thursday. Third Eye Blind had a show in another state the next night and could not stay which was understandable. Finally, Sublime with Rome was kind enough to stay (apart from drummer and one guitarist) and played an acoustic show opening the entire day with their manager on the missing guitar. this really set the tome for the rest of the day. I was very happy to find out that they were so kind to stay eventhough they had to send 2 of their members to the west coast to handle some business. Thank you Sublime for your kindness and dedication to your fans! once the day weather passed the second day was beautiful!

First they honored one day tickets for both days. The VIP area was way too small for the 1000 plus vips The food was served in the smallest bowl possible and you couldn't have more than one bowl of food at a time. Didn't have to worry about seconds because there were none. People in VIP have to go and purchase food from vendors who raised there prices on Saturday by 35%. Requested more chairs to wich I was told they were no more. Then I was told by a worker that a lot of chairs that got dirty the previous night were not cleaned for the next day. People without proper credentials were eating and drinking in the VIP area. Bathrooms kept breaking down, ran out of beer every 30 minutes. So disappointed I left before the last two acts came on. People got a pass for Saturday and the people that bought weekend passes got no kind concession at all. Hey! Maybe that explains the record crowd because half of them got in free Saturday! Totally felt like a very unimportant person! Oh yea, you ask about ifI sat in my seat? There were no seats.

We purchased VIP tickets for this event. Day one, got to festival about 7. To get to the VIP area we had to walk clear around the entire grounds. We get our wrist bands and go directly to the food line....whoops, out of food. Ok...go to get a beer, stand in line, we are served luke warm beer. It's starts to rain, festival is on hold for 30 mins. It storms, concert cancelled. It was a mess. I totally get that no one can control the weather. But after we heard that the Friday tickets were going to be allowed entrance on Saturday, we assumed that there would be compensation for us too. Nope. $140+ ticket for Friday was worthless...one hot beer and a XL t-shirt. They were able to reschedule Sublime for noon on Saturday so that was a plus. Ludacris and Kid Rock were great. However, food in VIP was poor and the beer was hot. It's not rocket science, ice = cold beer!!! Pretty sure I won't be going back....at least not for $280+ VIP tickets with a crappy viewing area. Also, trying to purchase tickets on the day they went on sale was a total nightmare....how can you mess that up????

Despite the bad weather on Friday night, which led to Third Eye Blind and 311 cancelling, the concert was amazing. Sublime was due to preform Friday aswell however they stayed around to preform first thing Saturday for their fans... Much respect to them for that! Every bad did an amazing job. Some bands interacted with the crouds which was great. Even the lesser known bands were right on their game. Great preformance and interaction after their gig by Psycho Billy Cadillac! Big fans now. Don't think it is right that the tickets said rain or shine. They even announced that because it was rained out Friday (lightning and thunder) that the people that purchased a ticket for Friday could use the same ticket for Saturday. That was not fair. What about the people that bought tickets for Friday and Saturday. Was very dissapointed that the main bands did not all get to play and there was NO REFUND!!!!! With understanding that the weather can't be controlled, I felt the event promoters could have been more prepared and handled it better. After all, it is springtime in the south, it's gonna rain. Seems quite unfair that many of us paid for weekend passes weeks in advance, while those who bought tickets late/at the gate got both days for the price of one. Lesson learned. I'll not purchase tickets in the future, if I attend, prior to coming to the gate. We got the Friday night headliner, Sublime (minus a drummer), for an abbreviated set on Saturday, and they were too hungover or too high to perform very well. Cypress Hill was good but the sound guys kinda botched it, no low end kick vocals didn't carry. I noticed other occasional sound problems throughout the festival. There were a couple of good acts in the pavillion.

Second year in a row with torrential rainstorms on Friday night. 311, Third Eye Blind, and Sublime with Rome were cancelled, though Sublime with Rome did stick around and play early Saturday. That was cool of them, however the drummer did not stay. This made for an awkward, and frankly, bad sit in chairs and play electric (not even acoustic) performance. The VIP area was covered and the bathrooms were clean. However, the food service missed the bar badly. The food, when it was finally served, was served in tiny bowls. Fried green beans, hushpuppies, red fish, popcorn shrimp.........all in a bowl. An incredibly small bowl on top of that. You were not allowed to take anything out of the VIP area. I can see not allowing beer to be taken out, but WATER???? Come on.

I paid $220 for 2 tickets in hope to see third eye blind, 311 and sublime. Friday the weather was awful and the show was canceled (even though the tickets say rain or shine). Third eye blind and 311 didn't play at all and sublime played for 20 minutes as the gates opened on Saturday. The other acts were okay at best. So I paid $230 to watch local bands. No refunds were given and Saturday tickets were basically free to the ones who didn't but them ahead of time. It was not worth the money at all. Last year was an amazing show but after this god awful show I will never give Gulfport music fest my money again.

The website said the event was rain or shine. I drove a long way to go because I knew I would not get my money back even though there was 100% chance of rain the entire day/night. Then it began to storm before any headliners had performed and the festival was cancelled for the day. No refunds were given. I basically paid $80 and drove a long way to see sir mix a lot sing baby got back.... I will never be attending this festival again. Very poorly run... Great mix of less known performers along with headliners on 2 stages at a very comfortable Jones Park in Gulfport, MS. Became quick fans of several less well known performers. Enjoyed bands we've never seen along with some we've seen multiple times. Stayed within walking distance of the event. Many beer choices, although the food could be improved. Bathrooms were very well maintained until the final hours on Saturday night. We loved the "rotation" of performances which allowed fans to visit both stages. Plenty of grass area for the army of chairs with a no chair area closer to the stage was great. Bought several concert t-shirts and a CD. Could have a larger merchandise selection in the future but I suppose that depends upon the artists. No complaints about beer prices, but $5 for a water or Coke is too steep. Plenty of shade during a hot Saturday afternoon close to one stage. Several golf carts with give-aways was a nice touch!

The rain, mud, heat, etc was all worth it once Kid Rock took the stage. He is an awesome American and performer. Got to see local bands I probably wouldn't have seen otherwise.

We enjoyed the entire weekend despite the rainout Friday night which was beyond your control. I do wish I would have been notified of Sublime with Rome rescheduling because we got there as they were finishing Saturday. Sir Mix a Lot, Ying Yang, Cypress Hill, Luda, and Kid Rock were all awesome!! Great time.

Rain or shine event that ended up being cancelled because of the rain. Those who bought just a Friday ticket ended up being able to use it Saturday as well. Those that bought a weekend pass got nothing. Therefore everyone should have just bought a Friday ticket, saved a few bucks, and got the same as those who paid more. Crowd was horrible. People were pushing like crazy (which was to be expected). The problem came in when everyone started bitching at people who were being pushed into them. Obviously Gulfport could never withstand a mosh pit. By far the worse crowd to ever try to enjoy music with.

I had only purchased a 1 day ticket and that was for Friday the ninth. I only wanted to see sublime, third eye blind, and 311. Not only did we spend all night Friday night drenched and squeezed and freezing under the pavilion "until the rain stopped" which it never did but they didn't even make an attempt to let anyone know what May have been going on. Finally they tell us it's canceled and that we can come back tomorrow but the bands that were supposed to play tonight weren't going to play tomorrow. Soooo what's the point?! I come back the next day and see sublime for 30 min maybe and not only do they only play for 30 min only it was only an acoustic set because they didn't have their drummer...completely and utterly disappointed in this past weekend.

Overall experience was great. Kid Rock puts on a great show. An up and coming band from Australia called Longreef was great and I hope they make it big here in the states. A couple of local acts, Wayne Sharp and Vette had good performances. Ludacris, Cypress Hill and and the Ying Yang Twins really got the audience pumped up. The first day of the festival got rained out after The Pretty Reckless performed a great set. Thanks to Sublime who was the only act that rescheduled the next day because of the rain and was disappointed that 311 did not.

No 311 no third eye blind. A small sublime set with no drummer. Don't claim rain or shine if you won't play in the rain. Won't be going next year

You can't help if half of the first day gets "rained out"..that sucked..even though the tickets describe the event as "rain or shine"..single day ticket buyers were able to show up for Saturday by using their Friday tickets..that's cool for them..but what about weekend pass buyers...umm oh well?...event organizers probably didn't care if they lost out on 2nd day ticket sales, because they could always rake you over the coals with drink sales..5$ sodas..beers..and good ole h2o..I didn't realize this 2 day getaway would cost my wife and I a small fortune...don't go unless u have the dough

My husband and I were VERY DISAPPOINTED when the last three bands cancelled. The event clearly states on the website and tickets RAIN OR SHINE!!!

Great show was real impressed by Sublime for staying to play the next day after the rain on Friday night. Not happy about paying $300 for tickets, getting there early, waiting in line to get a front row view for the organizers of the show to allow people in the pit and block the view of paying customers.

we weren't upset that it rained Saturday, but were disappointed that we did not find out about Sublime playing Saturday afternoon. We listened to 97.9 in the morning and didn't hear any updates. plus the trash on the ground in the VIP area was horrible. food & beer cans everywhere. Trash cans around the event were overflowing! no seats available in the VIP area.

We bought the weekend pass, but we were more interested in the Friday night show. It was projected to rain at least a few weeks out and we were indeed prepared for this. The festival, I'm sad to say, was not. They told us to wait 20-30 minutes for the weather to pass. An hour and a half later of standing outside in a thunderstorm, we still hear nothing so we left. They had cancelled the three remaining bands (Third Eye Blind, 311, and Sublime with Rome). They excepted Friday tickets on Saturday to make up for the cancellation, but did nothing for those who bought the weekend passes or VIP passes. We went last year, on the same weekend, and it rained, but the show went on. My gripe is that the festival did not have an adequate contingency plan to account for the poor weather that happens in Mississippi. A vast majority of the fans were upset and posted on Facebook, but the festival did not comment on the concerns. I haven't decided if I will go next year. FYI $5 for a water, soda, Pabst, or Abita Amber... I agree with adding simplicity, but wow.

Although I did not purchase VIP for Gulfport - I can say from what I saw and then heard from a friend it would be worth the cost. Some venues put their VIP area off to the side and nowhere near the stage. Their claims of 'private bathrooms' and free food/beverages are sometimes misleading. Not in Gulfport! VIP had full access to the right half of the main stage. The VIP area was half the pit all the way to the front rail -split down the middle-and then went back over to the right side complete with tent, chairs for seating etc. The people I knew in VIP were very happy considering unlimited water (it was sweltering), beer and food and they didn't have to fight through crowds to get to it. All drinks for purchase by GA ticket holders (including water, soda, and beer) were $5 each! Food was also very expensive at the stands outside VIP. Their port-o-lets weren't the standard green yucky singles - they had AC trailers provided - again with hardly any line. I had a GREAT TIME with my GA admission and the lineup was awesome, but next time I will spend the extra $$ for VIP.

The Gulfport music festival was great definitely more music for your money than any other ! Price is good lineup amazing . Payment plan makes it more affordable!! Next time I am definitely going for VIP tickets. Despite the weather it was great. Although I do prefer Anheiser-Busche productS over miller! No bud light or michelob:(. Good food friends music and fun! Recommend everyone that likes rock music go! Now let's see Gulfport put on a country music weekend like this.

The VIP section was way oversold. They're weren't enough seats available for the number of people in it and the seats the did have were hoarded by people and brought to the stage area. There was only Coors Light and Miller Lite as far as alcohol goes, gross beer. And the food in the section wasn't very good...overall I was extremely dissatisfied with the VIP tickets and wouldn't recommend anyone buy them since the price compared to the regular tickets wasn't worth it.

VIP section needed some serious upgrades given the amount of money spent for each night's ticket. VIP food was not up to par, bathrooms ran out of toilet paper and paper towels. Rain cancelled Friday night and no refund was given nor was there an alternate plan for that night's bands to play the next day except for one band.

First the free food that came with the VIP tickets was a joke . The food was good but they served super small serving and would run out of food quickly. The viewing area was jus ok . It got too crowded sat night for the small viewing area. The show got rained out fri night and try canceled all the main acts . No refund of money or anything . The only good thing about the VIP tickets was the unlimited beer cause beer was 5 dollars a can for regular ticket holders .
