Shinedown

Early in 2007, producer Rob Cavallo asked Shinedown frontman Brent Smith about his goals for the band's new album. Smith didn't hesitate."I said, 'You know what -- when I'm dead and gone, when everybody in this band has passed or what have you, I want the world to remember this as a record that needed to be made, and that there was a reason for it,' " Smith says. "That was the motivation behind this album.

Only conplaint is that it said the show started at 6 but i heard on the radio luckly my fave band came on at 4 buuut i disent even need my ticket to see them! Spent the rest of the show drinking and meeting tones of cool people. Ps i held Jesse's hand (singer of ten years) and hes lucky hes married cause i might be stalking him otherwise lmao JK!

Shinedown is amazing but the sound was blaring so much that the quality suffered. Sokol Auditorium is a small venue, so the sound crew should have toned it down a little. I know it's lame to say to turn the music down at a rock concert, but Shinedown is extremely talented and I would rather hear the subtle details in their music than have my eardrums burst. My ears were ringing 3 days later.

The event of going to see Shinedown was awesome in itself. The band is great, and the entire Sound of Madness album is amazing. Then when we found out it was to be at the Sokol Auditorium in Omaha, NE, we were even more excited. The venue holds (estimating) less than 500 people. It was a very intimate concert and made for an awesome night. It was a great place to move around and not have to worry about traveling 10 minutes to a restroom to wait, or for a drink behind 20 people. Shinedown performed an awesome concert. They took over the stage and the crowd was always into it. A few dialogue parts took a bit longer than needed in between songs, but overall they put on a great show! Also being able to see Rev Theory and Hailstorm was a great first time experience as well. Both these bands rocked and put on great performances to lead up to Shinedown. I would highly recommend seeing Shinedown if you get the chance!!!

The show was fantastic. Shinedown is a band well worth seeing. Their music has always been appealing to me since I first heard 45. The venue that they always play here is great. It is intimate and you are right there to see every move they make. It was my first time seeing them and well worth. My fourteen year old son also went an thought it was awesome. We go to many concerts and we will see Shinedown again.

This concert was amazing i love this band soooo much. From start to finish these guys ROCKED off our faces ! I sung my heart out i probably lost my voice within the first few songs. They just sent so much energy through the crowd it was crazy. My only disappointment was that they didnt sing Simple Man. But, other than that i loved every second of that concert and would go see Shinedown again and again !!!!

great concert but i didn't expect any different! i was a little worried since it was at the forum and it's a smaller venue than i normally go to. the sound was well figured out and they sounded great live. i wish they wouldn't have waited till the end to play 45.

The Shinedown show was more than I ever expected. Their catalog allwed them to present a show full of gems. After hearing the concert it was hard to believe that they had anything notable left for an encore, but they did and more. The venue is the other start. I have seen four or five shows there and there isn't a simular to many others. I'd see more concerts there if like ones were offered.

Showdown puts on a great show. Vocal power is amazing. Parking at the venue is better than most. The opening act did a good job,Black Stone Cherry and Halestorm. All bands rocked the house. The negative was the sound quality, terrible. We just attended a concert at another venue with the same system, and the sound was amazing. Need to fix, asap.

I've been wanting to see Shinedown for so long and finally have, they did not dissapoint! Halestorm was excellent as well. Over all awesome performances all around. If your a Shinedown fan I highly recommend it.

The venue is great, and the show was excellent. What I really appreciated was that the venue let people in quickly, and they were organized. The show started on time, and the changes between sets went very fast. The show itself was incredible. Black Stone Cherry was sensational, as was Halestorm - who were celebrating their 19th anniversary that night. Arejay Hale's drum solo was the best I'd ever seen. Shinedown rocked the house with a great light show and act, bringing the house down with The Sound of Madness.

I love Halestorm so I will always go to see them when they're in town. Black Stone Cherry was good. However, Whiskey Myers.....eh. I wasn't a fan. Not so much not a fan of their music, but i wasn't a fan because I don't think that band fit with the lineup. I'm sure if I saw them in a club somewhere I would be all over it, but not at that show. Snooze. Shinedown. I saw them before but I feel like this show really exploded. In fact, I was going to leave after Halestorm's set but decided to say to catch a song or two from Shinedown (since i was in the crowd and in front row, 5 feet from the stage). Boy, was I glad I stayed. The energy from the show was so awesome!! Always like Shinedown, but I think they went up a notch in my book.
