I'm so glad I was able to go the see King Diamond performing the album Abigail in its entirety. This is my favorite K D album. The last time I saw him was the "Them" tour in 1988. This was so much better. The Fillmore is a cool place to see a concert. He played a mixture of old K D songs and a few from Mercyful Fate. The only complaint was it ended too soon. After they finished the Abigail album, that was it, no encore. The crowd was wanting more. He did come out to shake hands and wave to all for about 5 minutes or more, so that was cool of him. The band sounded tight and his singing was spot on, just like the album. Thanks King for a great show!

Another rivet head and I who have been waiting for King Diamond to tour expected a small crowd (we are a dying breed). Were we wrong! King Diamond fans came from all over to see him and believe me I do not think that anyone was disappointed. King Diamond's act was as I stated in my title "Simply Fantastic." The effects, actors, musicians, and King Diamond delivered what everyone had hoped for... one hell of a show. I would recommend seeing King Diamond to any Metal Head or even those who are not to experience an outstanding event that will not let you down.

This show was a dream come true for me, I honestly never thought I would get to hear these songs live and it was incredible. This dude has been rocking forever, had triple bypass a few years ago, and still looks and sounds amazing. The back drop and stage show were unreal as well.

King Diamond was absolutely flawless. His vocals were dead on, the band was brilliant, the stage was awesome, and the venue was an excellent choice. Whoever was running the sound for the venue was dead on. It was concert loud without the feeling of being bombarded... You know how it can get in a lot of these clubs - just overbearing with the clash and clatter of improperly tuned sound waves. This was perfect.

It was the perfect concert. The opening band, Jess and the Ancient Ones, were amazing. They were even better than they sounded on the album. The set was tight, not a note out of place. My favorite song was the closing number "Come Crimson Death." The invocation was melodic, passionate, and intense, with lots of excellent guitar work. I cannot say enough about King Diamond. He came out looking like Baron Samedi dressed in a top hat and frock coat, with his trademark makeup. The light show and special effects were perfect - just right for Halloween, which is just around the corner. The music itself was more melodic than his studio albums which keeping all the intensity and heaviness I have come to expect for King Diamond. The security at the Fillmore was excellent. One clueless yutz had the bright idea to try to mosh violently. He pushed my friend and me back, nearly knocking her purse off her shoulder. Said yutz was quickly removed and ejected from the show, allowing the rest of us to have an amazing time. I felt completely safe the whole time.

This was my most anticipated event of the year. I've been a HUGE King Diamond fan for years. Being present for his first US show was majorly important for me and he did not disappoint! The mood was set by the opening band Jess and the Ancient Ones. The atmosphere they created was a perfect starter for what was coming next. After a quick finish on the stage set up the house lights began to dim and the roar of the crowd was almost deafening. I completely lost my mind when I heard The Candle begin to play!! The intro finished and the band hit the stage with full force!! Andy LaRocque and Mike Wead had guitars blazing, Matt Thompson is a master of his craft on drums and new bass player Pontus Egberg fits in perfectly!! Kings voice is, IMO, stronger and better than ever before and let's not forget the beautiful Livia Zita adding backing vocals for a perfectly balanced sound. The stage itself is an amazing sight to see, Columns topped by demon heads sit at the bottom of stairs leading up to huge glowing inverted crosses and in the center the pentagram burns red like fire! This temple-like setting made the perfect place for King to weave his amazing tales of horror and magic. He gave a STELLAR performance and he sounded better, again IMO, than he did as a younger man. I've been fortunate enough to see him 3 times now over the years. Every song, every note, every bit of the performance left me wanting more! The band, the stage performers, the audience all became one that night. I was so impressed that I've purchased a ticket for a show that's 6 hours away. It will be worth every minute and mile!! LONG LIVE KING DIAMOND!!!

The band was perfect, King's voice was incredible for his age. So many aging singers have lost range and the bands tune down for the singer. Not King Diamond. The show was shorter compared to some bands these days. I didn't mind. Personally I hate the idea of encores and like that King did his set and that was it.

King Diamond is an amazing performer, as well as all of the musicians!!! I cannot leave out all of the techs, engineers, and actors involved in getting everything prepared for the band beforehand and during the show!!! I have to say that in my 20 years of enjoying live performances, King Diamond is by far the best that I have seen. It's not only because of the flawless performance by the band and King himself, but the actors as well, it truly is an unforgettable experience! I strongly urge everyone to go to see at least one show at some point in their lives, because I'm certain that they too would enjoy it as much as myself.

King Diamond is in the highest echelon of professional musical experiences. Always the best performance, sound quality, musicianship and stage show around today ( and for the last decade, or more,,,) Since his heart problems were taken care of, everything about the tours have jumped up to another level of quality and intensity. Just really, really fantastic. Not to mention that each bend member it a phenomenal musician as well. Some of the best live guitar work you will see in 2015 & total solid, rocking rhythm section too! And then there is King Diamond himself, the best vocalist around - especially since Ronnie James Dio died and surrendered that title.

First off, I'm very glad that Exodus didn't open. I'd never heard of Electric Citizen before and discovering new music is always good. Plus, they put on a helluva set. So yeah, King Diamond performing Abigail in its entirety. The chances of me missing this concert were so close to zero as to be meaningless. The band was unbelievable, King's voice sounded perfect. The atmosphere was brilliant, and the crowd was great. Kudos to Stage AE for having inexpensive soda, whether you were driving or not drinking for whatever reason, that was a bonus.

For new fans, or old, King Diamond brings his best! The set was fantastic and every number was flawless. Never a dull moment. Mr. Diamond's voice, like a fine wine, just continues to improve with age. Jess and the Ancient Ones couldn't have done a better job of opening for KD if they'd tried. She is a true metal goddess! I have been a metal fan since 1983 (I'm 45) and have had heard King Diamond and Mercyful Fate on occasion. I even own the first 4 King Diamond CDs but had not listened to them in a while. With that being said I came to the show in Houston not expecting a whole lot. Wow, was I wrong. King Diamond, Andy La Roche and band put on an amazing show of their catalog. Very tight, well mixed and a great stage show. King's falsetto was even better than on record in many cases (a surprise to me at his age of 58). The crowd was absolutely into it, and my date who is not even a metal fan really enjoyed the concert especially the band. I love even more how King stayed on the stage after the show for at least 5 if not 10 minutes being very grateful to the audience. A true professional. If you are even on the fence about going to see this show please go! You will be glad.

The show was amazing!!!! From the opening song, we knew we were in for a night of a "devilishly" good time. The stage was set up with stairs on each side & a balcony connecting the two for King to move around & be seen by all. His voice is still as amazing as ever! If I would not have known he had been sick from food poisoning a few days before this show, I definitely could not tell. The amount of energy he gave was tremendous & the crowd loved it. He even brought Grandma back for a visit! All in all, this was an amazing night & it was good to see King Diamond return to the stage. He even hinted of new material coming out next year! Although he didn't play any new songs, the song selection was very good. I just wished he could have played longer than the 1 1/2 hours he did. I am looking forward to the new stuff when it does come out & would definitely go see him again! Until then, like King says, stay heavy \\m/

King Diamond was Awesome. He hit all those incredibly high notes perfectly. His band was fantastic, as always. Hearing Abigail in its entirety was great, but there was more, some Mercyful Fate song and a few songs from "Them", along with other King songs. I haven't heard most of those song live in quite a while. The Arargon was packed and the crowd appreciated King's theatrics. All in all, it was a great night and I hope King comes around again soon. ++**SPOILER WARNING**++ If you love classic heavy metal, King Diamond and Exodus do not disappoint. I have been listening to both of these acts for more than 30 years. During that time I have only seen each of these acts perform a handful of times, but they have lost nothing over the years. Exodus, still intense with energy, took me back to the '80s with Toxic Waltz, Bonded by Blood and Strike of the Beast. King Diamond was amazing, as always. As much as I would truly love to see him with Mercyful Fate on stage one last time, King's performance of Abigail was flawless. Vocals and music and theatrics to bring the classic metal album to life again. However, before beginning Abigail's grim story, King warmed up with the songs: Welcome Home, Eye of the Witch, Sleepless Nights, Them - and to the cheers of the crowd - The Mercyful Fate classics - Melissa and Come to the Sabbath! Continuing with Halloween we then heard Abigail in its entirety. If you have a chance to see this performance - don't miss out or you will regret it!!

I was simply floored at King Diamond's stage presence and vocal ability during the opening night of this legendary tour! He opted to perform all of the "Abigail" material at the end of the set. This was initially disconcerting for me as my heart was set on hearing "Funeral" as the very first song. And while "Welcome Home", "The Candle", "Halloween", and "Sleepless Nights" are amazing songs, none of King Diamond's other repertoire have surpassed the music of "Abigail." With the exceptions of Andy LaRocque playing the intro lead riff of "The 7th Day Of July 1777" an octave lower than what is heard on the record, Mike Wead's lackluster acoustic solo on "Black Horsemen", and his acoustic guitar being set too loudly for "The Possession", the guitar work was flawless throughout the set. "Omens" is my favorite song off the record. After finishing a stunning performance of "The 7th Day Of July 1777" King asked the Denver audience "What comes next?" No one knew! No one but me! I alone shouted at the top of my lungs "OMENS!!" "OMENS!!" The only way this show could have been more dramatic was to have opened the show with the curtain raising over the backdrop. THIS WAS A TRULY LEGENDARY EXPERIENCE I WILL LOOK BACK ON FOR YEARS TO COME!!! LONG LIVE KING DIAMOND AND THE MUSIC OF ABIGAIL!!!

King diamond is one band I never thought I would get the chance to see since he hasn't toured in 15 years due to back pain. My fiancée bought our tickets as an engagement present for me and the timing couldn't be better since we're getting married on October 31st :-) king diamond and the entire band didn't miss a note and goes down as one of the best shows I've ever gone to and I've been to a ton. Dispite his past health concerns and not touring in the U.S. for around 15 years I was not sure what to expect from the KING but as soon as he started belting out the first song I knew he was just as good if not better than he has ever been. The band as a whole sounded excellent and I followed every note and every change feverishly like I had not done since my 20's. The energy of the show is still with me today almost 3 days later! I only wish I had enough time off from my job so I could follow KING around the country and witness every single show on the remainder of this tour.... yet that still would not satisfy my hunger and desire to continually witness the awesomeness and talent of the icon of Metal that is KING DIAMOND!

Ever since I was a kid (I'm 50 now) I've been a concert fanatic. I love hard rock and metal. It feels like I've seen everybody, twice. I have seen all the legends and a huge variety of bands. I have to say, this was one of the best shows I have ever seen. The musicianship was incredible, very tight, sounded great. Kings vocals were so, so good! Actually as good as they were 25 years ago. It was shocking just how good he was. The stage and lighting were phenomenal and watching the story unfold before my eyes was brilliant . I drove from st. Louis to Chicago, got a hotel, had to get taxi's and buy food - and it was worth every moment!! yes, I'm a fan, but I am not being biased here. My girlfriend didn't know anything about him and is a fan of top 40 dance crap and rap - and she loved it!! great merchandise too!

King Diamond never disappoints when he puts on a show. Band was in top form and played exceptionally well. I would always recommend a Kind Diamond concert to anyone but I would really have to reconsider if it is in the Aragon Ballroom. Bery bad venue. Personally I won't return there. Let us hope next time the King goes to Tinley Park!!!

I've seen a lot of older acts in my time, but rarely have I seen one that feels as young as King Diamond. The band is polished and aggressive. King's voice sounds as good (if not better) than older live recordings I've heard. The theatrics are engaging and authentic. Do not miss this show!

Exodus and King Diamond were awesome! I wish Exodus could have played a couple more songs. Loved King Diamond! Great entertaining show. And it was great that he played some Mercyful Fate! Lots of fun!!! Lots of headbanging and horns flying in the air!!! I briefly met this woman, her name was Michelle & she was sitting in front of me w/ her sister. I wish I had got her number!!! I thought she was really attractive & after the show,I told her so-then I got tongue tied...and she got away. I hope I see her at another show sometime!

I love the fact that after all this time, the showmanship and music still raises the hair on my arms. Abigail 2015 remastered blew our faces off and we were deaf for two glorious days. And I would be remiss if I didn't say thank you for throwing us some Mercyful Fate in there, too, incredible. Long live the King, don't ever stop! Chicago loves you

Strategically placed on the staircases that surrounded the fictitious La Fey Mansion, and on the stage, King Diamond emerged with confidence to the eerie Welcome Home intro. Wall to wall, the mezzanines overflowing, a standing ovation ushered in the Danish band, and even grandma in her wheelchair joined the festivities. The opening song of six not on Abigail, it was the gauntlet thrown, and followed by hits like, Eye of The Witch and Halloween, it demonstrated the band s intelligent approach with limited time (Abigail alone 45 minutes of the set). Knowing the desperation of the Mercyful Fate faithful, the face-painted and top hat donning vocalist playfully asked the crowd what they wanted to hear before proclaiming, Don t you know I choose the songs? And I declare it Mercyful Fate time. Evil and Melissa exhibited both the metal strength of the band and the vocal diversity and ethereal tones of King Diamond, while partially satisfying a part of the crowd that needed 4 hours of music to be satiated. After the briefest of transitions Abigail began with the dead baby being taken from the casket, hoisted in the air, and dropped back into the tiny tomb and carried off stage (Funeral). Arrival and A Mansion In The Darkness provided the denounement of the story before we approached the climax, minute after minute of incredible solo work by Andy LaRocque held the massive crowd transfixed, his superb abilities pointed to by King Diamond himself. La Rocque, almost exclusively to the left of the singer/narrator switched from electric to acoustic guitar without leaving stage, mesmerizing to watch, astounding to listen to, the only band member still with the King since the beginning, he is the other star of this show. Omens was a crowd favorite with its distinct breaks and easily identifiable riffage, but what needs mentioning is the radiant keyboard work that is the musical and magical transition that sews this album together. The sinews, the beautiful bridge, the keyboards are not passing or peripheral, they are an intricate component of the album and the show. All stood taller as King Diamond grabbed his clear chalice and toasted Abigail, urging 3500 crazies to do the same. Without hesitation, using his cross microphone as a weapon, he followed and teased the possessed Miriam (kudos to that actress as well), as she demonically stumbled across the stage and by the casket of Abigail, dressed now in all black. A theatrical performance at the level of Alice Cooper, but with a different feel and intent, the story came to life through the characters and the musical, blended superbly and orchestrated deftly, it was a sight to behold. Two black acoustic guitars rested on their stands, thirty feet behind and above, two inverted white crosses paralleled them, and a mixture of dark purple and white light radiated from the stage. The conclusion, Black Horsemen, a gorgeous arrangement for the second coming of evil in the form of Abigail, drifted throughout the hall, and the final scene played out to an amazed crowd. As the band members took their bows, King Diamond slowly and emotionally took ample time to appreciate the night, stopping every couple of steps to tap his heart and bow his head. Almost in tears, I drug my feet descending the stairs, realizing how rare performances of this caliber are. Born in 1987, it took nearly 30 years for this tour to unfold, and by the never ending packed lines at the merch booth it was apparent we all knew the gravity. Shepherd Says- With only four shows left, I beg of you, dig into your Christmas piggy bank and make the long drive to see this tour. 30 years later, you ll be telling your friends and kids about it. Look below at King Diamond s view, and make sure your part of it in Minneapolis, Minnesota tonight.

Well the Aragon Ballroom hasn't changed in 30 yrs. the sound is horrible. I was looking forward to hearing Andy La Roche and the King but all I could hear was the kick drum. Would love o see this concert again at a nice theater.
