The Gap Band

The buzz coming into the show was, will Charlie Wilson be there. Well he wasn't, but the Gap Band was and they proved that it was always more Band than it was Charlie. Now Charlie Wilson is great, but the that stepped into his shoes wore them well and then some. So when the Gap Band comes to a venue near you, you better get up early in the morning and get you some tickets!

I just saw the Gap band play at the Splash Kingdom Waterpark Park in Riverside this past Saturday Night.. May 28th.. They were the headliner.. They had an amazing singer leading the band named Devan and a new lead guitar player doin' solo riffs on the guitar.. amazing and they were as good as their hits ever were and with the new additions to the band .. better. I hope they are coming to some local venues this summer like the Greek or the Hollywood Bowl cuz I want tickets.... Where did that hot singer come from!!?!!

I attended this show with my girlfriend and we thought the size of the venue and venue itself was perfect. We learned prior to the show that the Gap Band had not performed live for many years, but you could not tell. From the moment they hit the stage they were seamless in every aspect! No rust whatsoever...the set list was what I would consider "everything you would want to hear" as a fan. The Gap Band moved well, sounded awesome and the show was fantastic. Well worth the price of the tickets. I recommend seeing the Gap Band if you have the chance, GREAT TIME!

I was really looking forward to seeing the Gap Band. That's music from a great time in my life. I was very disappointed! They dragged out each song to last about 15 minutes each. Not necessary! They have plenty of recognizable songs to fill the hour and a half. The band introduction was ridiculous. 13 members and that took 20 minutes. Sorry to say, it was such a waste of money.
