Tyler Michaels as the Emcee was superb. He alone is worth seeing the show, but the whole cast was terrific as well. The production was extremely well done - scenery, orchestra, acting and singing. "Sally" (Kira Lace Hawkins) has a very powerful voice and sang with such emotion. Beautiful. Loved the show.

Excellent production. The emcee was especially memorable; he looked like a fallen angel. The older couple's romance was so moving. Sally and Cliff's affair was really well staged. This is not a musical for the kiddies ; Cliff's bisexuality is strongly implied. Great staging. I was lucky enough to attend a free pre-show lecture by the choreographer and set designer.

Terrific! Amazingly well acted by all. Enormous amounts of detail and subtlety, Have seen many many productions of this show but this was by far the best. This was the fourth production in Minneapolis in the last five years, but everything else pales in comparison. Terrific costumes. Much ingenuity. Saw twice. Acting was vastly better second time around although first time was near flawless Tyler Michaels is destined to be brilliant as "Hedwig" sometime in the near future.

After seeing the original a few times over the years I have been waiting for it to be redone yet again-and it was a wonderful evening-2.5 hours and worth every penny. We had front row seats, but even the balcony would have worked as it was loud and perfect. Would love to be able to afford to see it yet again while at the Pantages.

Let's start with the theater. It was a perfect venue..small, compact, inclined seats. But it did not feel crowded. From the opening scene the show was exciting. The actors were superb. I couldn't imagine any one playing Joel Grey's role and being as great a success. Michaels was amazing! as was Kira Lace Hawkins. The whole cast was wonderful..Bravo especially to Peter Rothstein, Artistic Director. The ending brought an unexpected reality.

Cabaret at the Pantages in Minneapolis is a tremendous, entertaining show. All my favorite songs from the movie are included, the cast is wonderful (especially Tyler Michaels as the Emcee and Sally Wingert as the landlady), the staging is vibrant and uses the entire theater including the balcony, and the singing and dancing are superb. I would go a second time if I could.

Being a long-standing Cabaret fan, it is always fun and exciting to see how a cast puts their mark on the dialogue, songs, themes, and characters. Theater Latte Da produced an incredible production with in-your-face moments of hilarity and subtle moments that left you pensive and reflective. My favorite thing about Cabaret is the emotional roller coaster of laughs and heart-ache...and this production succeeded with flying colors (and clothing). :) From costumes, to interpretation, to choreography, to stage production, to the band, to performances...it was all magnifique!! Thanks for a wonderful night.

I have not enjoyed the theatre this thoroughly in a long long time. It was an amazing performance. All the cast was truly spot on but the Emcee and Sally Bowles truly blew me away. Such a fun time. Captured the depth and complexity of the story while maintaining the lively and fun atmosphere associated with Weimar cabaret. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend.

Latte Da stepped up and stepped out with its production of Cabaret. It's an ambitious undertaking in a luscious setting, but the troupe performed admirably. Lots of energy and some very solid performances. The emcee amazed with his athletic dancing and especially his trapeze performance! Sally Bowles gave it her all and Sally Wingert was her usual spot-on self.

If for no other reason to see Cabaret, Tyler Michaels as the Emcee is sensational. From start to finish, he carries the show. The other actors and dancers are terrific and the staging was perfect. But Tyler Michaels was the show for me. I suggest you see him before he heads for Broadway, as I am sure will happen. Makes me want to see him as Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid at Chanhassen.

It had been a long time since I had seen Cabaret...and didn't remember it very well. But this was an extremely well acted production. I understood it at a different level than I had before. It was raunchy (as it should be) but excellently poignant and profound. It was a perfect Pride Week experience--showing the convergence of hatred, optimism and disaster. Cabaret, always a bit raunchy in its presentation of Berlin's decadence around 1930, gets some extra edge in this touring rendition, seen in San Jose. My friends, regular Broadway theater goers, proclaimed the production and cast to be "Broadway quality!" Great singing, great acting. The Emcee was outstanding, drawing the audience into his over-the-top world. Sally B was great, very strongly on her path to self destruction. The author is credibly earnest. The old couple's side story was charming and sad. The band and the girls and boys of the Kit Kat Klub were excellent. A cautionary tale. Thanks to the cast for the great show.

The host, the full cast were extremely entertaining, and over the top talented. If I'm not mistaken most of the cast was actually playing musical instruments in the orchestra. I was really looking forward to taking my husband to this after seeing it and loving it on Broadway in NYC 15 years ago. I was disappointed by how much it had changed. Why did we need to add Cabaret boys and dress one up like a girl in "Two Ladies"? I remember it being very sexually suggestive to the point of a bit shocking back then, but this revised version just goes too far.

I was quite shocked at the graphic sexuality/sexual performances displayed in the show. I heard the people behind me commenting on how some friends, who are not real prudes, had seen the show and walked out during intermission in Buffalo. I was so embarrassed that I brought my 17 year old granddaughter to the show. The sexual activity on stage very nearly overshadowed the real message of the show. I have read the Berlin Stories and I'm sure Christopher Isherwood would have died of embarrassment at seeing this performance (Of course I do know that he is already dead). Future promotions of this production should include some warning information as to the level of sexual conduct that is part of the performance.

This play must have been choreographed by Milly Cyrus. The dancing was raunchy, the presentation was over the top tacky. A little innuendo goes a long way..this was just out and out tacky. The first half of the shoe contained pantomimes of casual homosexual and heterosexual sex acts. Very little music of any merit occupied this part of the program. The second half of the program had a number of entertaining songs and most of the story's focus. Overall, the show was good - the acting, singing, dancing, and music. I've seen Cabaret before which was helpful as the dialogue and singing were hard to understand. This is possibly because the orchestra was on stage rather than the usual location in the pit. Perhaps if I wanted to pay more for better seats it would have been easier to understand, but it may have been hard to understand no matter where I sat in the theater. The folks in front of me did not return after the intermission and I overheard them saying they could not follow the plot - most likely because they couldn't understand what was being said. Cabaret is a good show with good music and dancing, but this particular show was not as good as it could have been.

I took my daughter to see Cabaret in Los Angeles. As a musical theater teacher, I was slightly embarrassed that I had not seen this show previously. I enjoyed the show immensely. One of my favorite things about the show, actors and plot aside, was the use of the lighting. It was done to perfection to convey the mood to the audience. I admired the technical use of telling the story through he use of lights. As for the plot and acting, it was memorable and perfect. As the show swept towards the end, I couldn't help but grip the arms of my chair tightly because I knew the climax was building and it was terrible and haunting. I would recommend this show to any person over the age of 14.

We thoroughly enjoyed the performance! I wasn't familiar with the story line, and found it to be quite risqué. If you are wondering if you should bring children, I would say it was at least PG13-R rating. President and First Lady H.W. Bush were also in attendance, and this was a treat for the crowd as well. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures of the stage, but did snap a few of the Bushes.

I saw Cabaret 50 years ago in Cincinnati. I remember being pulled into the chaos and turmoil of pre-war Berlin. The compelling music drew one into the time. I was looking forward to seeing it again with different eyes . However, the graphic depictions of homosexual acts I found distracted from the excellent dancing and the pathos of the story. I was disappointed to see Cabaret had changed. The orchestra was excellent. I especially like the way it was framed with an askew picture frame. It was intriquing to see how the instruments blended on stage with the action and the chaos of the time.

We saw the Saturday matinee show, so perhaps that had something to do with it. Sally Bowles wasn't really engaged until the 2nd half, and that's hard to get beyond when she is such a central charactor. Maybe this performance was a warm up for the Saturday evening show - I don't know. The two older characters carried the show, in my opinion. They were the only characters I came away carrying about.

I think the word "average" describes it very well... this wasn't a spectacular production of Cabaret. The actors were competent, if uninspiring. The sets weren't anything to write home about. The lead trio (Bradshaw, Bowles, and the Emcee) at times seemed to be mailing in their performances... especially Sally's last number, which just lacked any energy at all. The highlights of the evening were: The Orchestra (amazing music... I wish the sound system was better so we could truly appreciate it more, though). And the play of Herr Schultz and Frau Schneider. At times, to be honest, if I didn't know the story line of the show, I'd have thought the whole thing was about them and they were the leads. Exceptional performances by those two. Finally, the ending was almost high school quality - the live orchestra was replaced by a tape of the Broadway show music and the acting was forced, badly.

I had vague memories of the movie starring Joel Grey and Liza Minnelli - dancing, some great songs, and bit of Nazi Germany. So I ordered tickets. This production, however, was "updated" and would appropriately have been rated R (unlike the movie in my recollection). It seemed like three quarters of the production involved a man groping, humping, grabbing another man's genitals or a woman's breasts and buttocks. It was a bit too much for me. The rest of the movie and the meaningful parts got kind of lost in all that. I only gave it two stars because the cast did a good job - just this production was not something worth seeing.

Cabaret is my favorite musical. This show would have been AMAZING if they casted a better Sally Bowles. The actress didn't/couldn't dance, so her Cabaret number she just stood at the mic and sang, without "performing." I've seen this show a couple times and have seen the movie and that song is usually very entertaining/fun/funny. This was not. Her voice wasn't that good and it was obvious compared to the other singers. Other than that, the remainder of the cast was phenomenal! Emcee was a 10. We were so impressed by the girls, who sing, dance and play instruments. The show is a go-see, despite Sally.

Cabaret was such a vivid play set in an increasingly scary society.

In a bare bones set the times are captured perfectly. Such an amazing cast so well suited to this show. Outstanding voices and actors. The emcee was so naughty bordering on evil. Fraulein Schultz stole our hearts with a show stopping vocal poignancy This Sally Bowles may not be the best actress ever to play this part. However, she has got to have the best voice EVER. She was a phenomenon. Not really fair to isolate one character over others as it was an ensemble piece worthy of this great material. This production captures the era and decadence of pre-war Berlin better than the movie. And, "Even the orchestra is beautiful."

The dialog is outdated. I don't think anybody under 50 realizes the seriousness of what the Nazi's did in the 30's and 40's. The music is still relevant and good. The script was very raunchy and suggestive. I realize today's norm's have moved to more "R: rated movies and plays but some of us still want to be entertained not slapped.

I very much enjoyed the performance. While I did find the first act to be a little long, in the end I was moved to tears given the political climate today. The cast was excellent. We very much enjoyed the performance.

The Roundabout Theater Company's production of Cabaret is a fantastic theatrical experience. I attended "Cabaret" IN NYC about 25 years ago and truly enjoyed the show. This production, however, had me giggling with delight from the opening scene. The cast nailed their roles from the frivolity of the Kit Kat Girls and Boys to the serious and horrific reality of the beginning of the Nazi Era in Germany. The effect of the Nazi's influence on relationships, religious persecution of the Jews, and the persecution of gays was an apparent theme. The final scene, with the Emcee, makes a strong impact. I truly enjoyed attending this production and recommend you attend. The show has everything that makes Broadway magical and transporting.

The performance of Cabaret at the Boston Opera House is a must see! We attended to celebrate my partner's birthday, a Saturday matinee on a cold and snowy Saturday. What a way to warm heart and mind with a timely political twist relevant to 2017. Wonderful cast.

My husband and I are leery of revivals. However, Cabaret was simply amazing. Far exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend the show.

It is a very dark musical. I realize it covers a very dark time, but I had forgotten just how disturbing it was. However my main complaint was the poor quality of the sound system. That's why I only give it one star. No excuse for poor sound system

I love Cabaret, and this production was ery good. Unfortunately, I tried to save money by sitting in balcony. This was a mistake. It was too remote from the stage; it felt like watching it on TV. Either spend the money and sit closer in orchestra, or don't go.

This is the third production of Cabaret I have seen. It was a very, very good show and worth the cost.

Especially considering the current world issues, this is an absolute must see. Made us laugh and made us cry but made us remember why it's so important to remember that "if you're not against it, you're for it."

Great dancing, music; edgy interpretation. The Emcee was spectacular and was simultaneously funny, energetic, sad, gruesome, ironic, sarcastic and scary. So glad i went. My husband enjoyed it too and he avoids musicals.
