Sick Puppies

Sick Puppies

Australian hard-rock trio Sick Puppies made their mark in the music world in the late ‘90s and early 2000’s with angst-ridden gems like “Nothing Really Matters” and a hard-hitting, far darker version of Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name.” With such emo fare, it’s odd that a heartwarming viral video set to the Sick Puppies’ song “All The Same” featuring a street performance artist giving out free hugs would catapult the band to wider fame. Tear-jerking videos aside, however, longtime fans know that the Sick Puppies music is usually far more loud and best experienced LIVE. With Shimon Moore’s powerful vox, Mark Goodwin’s virtuoso drumming, and Emma Anzai’s seriously sick bass-playing skills, admirers never miss the chance to grab tickets to watch Sick Puppies perform hits like “You’re Going Down,” “Odd One,” “Riptide,” “There’s No Going Back” and “Die To Save You” LIVE in concert.

Second time I've seen sick puppies. One of my all time favorite bands. Already have tickets to see a third time. Their show is incredible. They play to the crowd and their presence is not missed.

Took my son for his 18th Birthday. Sick Puppies rocked the place, however Devour the Day was as good! Actually felt like Devour the Day was a bit more "personable" I understand Sick Puppies are more established and all, but they gave off the unapproachable vibe. Devour the Day of course being hungry and up and coming Rocked the hell out of the place, and still shook your hand and spoke to you as a band should in the small venue setting. Still a GREAT rocks how.

First off- the CHAMELEON CLUB in Lancaster is a great mid size club (775 capacity) 10 YEARS came on first and kicked some serious ass! JESSE HASEK IS AS GOOD A PERFORMER AS THEY COME! I remember turning to Karen and saying this is gonna be a tough act for the Puppies to follow! But the SICK PUPPIES matched their predecessors with a high powered- in your face set featuring the super hot EMMA ANZAI playing a ferocious bass and prowling the stage like a panther protecting its turf. MOST STIMULATING! As good was SHIMON MOORE who did a masterful job on guitar and vocals much to the glee of the ladies in the audience. Rounding out the threesome from Australia was MARK GOODWIN on drums. Together they provided a solid set of hard rock! As a rule I'm normally into the new bands on the rise but occasionally it's good to see some seasoned veterans just blow the doors off a club. The SICK PUPPIES and 10 YEARS did that in glorious fashion this night!

This was only the second major act I have seen, this was different compared to the first which was Tool in Jersey city at the all points west festival. But I really enjoyed this show especially at the State Theatre in portland. The Sick Puppies really know how to work a crowd and put on a great show, the same goes for the 2nd act that preformed Terrible things. Just a really great show.

While the Sick Puppies dominate top-40 modern rock stations with pop-laden grunge-ballads, their live performance was far from lack-luster. Breaking away from the usual Breaking Benjamin cover-fest, the Sick Puppies are a unique live rock experience. This simple, three-piece band had the sound of a full rock orchestra. And the live performance was ultra-heavy - a far cry from the wimpy stuff heard on the radio. A full-out pit erupted in the front. Drunk moshers were aggressively pulled from the overzealous crowd. My stinging ears bled from the dominate power chords. It is fair to say that the sick puppies rocked my night - highly recommended.

I had so much fun at the Sick Puppies concert. That was the first rock concert I've been to & it makes me want more & more. I would see them live anytime! I got to stand right up against the barricade, right below where Emma performed. I could feel the energy so well throughout the whole night. I would definitely recommend this concert to lots of my friends. I want to thank the Sick Puppies for even coming to Maine! Come again soon please! :D

I can't believe it wasn't a sold out crowd. These three bands were great! All had their unique niche, but all still rocked. Lacuna Coil has such a unique sound with the two voices mixed. Sick Puppies' lead singer, Shimon was great! He got the crowd rocking and singing to each song. Emma's energy on bass added to the show's power.

My review is written at a dichotomy. I really enjoyed the bands and came to see the headliners, Lacuna Coil & Sick Puppies. After trying to see Lacuna Coil for the past 10 years (I kept missing them when they came to my neck of the woods), I can say it was worth the wait! Christina's energy was infectious. For the first time, I fought my way through the mosh pit to be center stage for LC and it was worth it! The mosh pit didn't get too rowdy which made it comfortable for me to be there but overall, the bands did a great performance. My critiques come with the hall itself. They made us all stand outside in zero degrees for about 30 or 40 minutes AFTER the doors were supposed to open and most of us missed the first act because of it. I think this problem would have been resolved had they handled the line like I've seen at other venues - I noticed most of the hold up was people paying in cash for tickets up front. I've seen lots of venues have two separate lines, one for people with tickets and then one for people who still need to buy. That would have gotten those of us with tickets in a lot faster, out of the cold. The sound check team kept failing to provide effective microphones and equipment for the bands. One of the bands even had to stop in the middle of the first song to do a sound check again. Due to those problems, I don't plan on seeing another show at this venue again. But the bands played with energy and passion and made the experience enjoyable and memorable.

I bought the ticket for Lacuna Coil, one of my favorite bands--and was pleasantly surprised when local rockers CHARETTA were announced as the opener. These guys stole the show, showcasing five of their hardest rockin' tracks (and frontwoman Angelina del Carmen's voice range) in a tight, 25-minute set.

The Sick Puppies were fantastic and a great band. Their performance was exciting and well done. The only drawback was the long wait to see them. Concert time was 7:00 pm - they were not on stage until 9:45 !!!!!!!!!! Those of us who arrived on time had to endure 4 local bands with long pauses between each. The long wait included standing the whole time for a total of 4 hours. By the time the concert ended we chose NOT to wait in line for an autograph which was a shame.

The tickets said 7. I knew there would be a cover band, but not FOUR. There were no seats so sat on the floor a couple times waiting for the featured band. Three hours later, Sick Puppies came on stage and rocked the house! Worth the agonizing wait, but they only played for an hour! I'll try to see the Puppies every time, but might bring my own chair and some coffee next time.

Such an amazing & high energy show! Sick Puppies is one of the best concerts I ever been to! Shim, Emma & Mark are all so talented & really care about their fans- you leave feeling like a personal friend of theirs! We did the VIP package, so got to see an acoustic set before the show, which was awesome, then got to meet them, get pictures & autographs (they signed everything I brought & were happy to do it)! Also bought a shirt at the show which got me a pass to the autograph line after the show so I was able to get that signed as well. It's great they do that for their fans! Absolutely love them:)

One of the best shows I've seen!! Sick Puppies are 100% "ROCK 'N ROLL"!! A guitarist, a bassist (a bad ass bassist!) and a drummer ... and some "sic" playing! Emma is awesome. She captivates your attention throughout the whole show. Shim carries the mood and rocks his own. And Mark and Shim rocked out on the drums. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the show. The only thing I regret is that I wasn't one of the first 50 to buy a t-shirt, so I didn't get in on the meet 'n greet... I will the next time!! Love the band. Loved the show!! Highly recommend if you've never seen them live.

This concert was amazing - I knew it was going to be a sick show (these guys have my highest expectations) and yet, I still underestimated how good it was going to be. The venue was seated - the atmosphere is as hardcore, but it was a refreshing change (we were in the front row so it was nice not having to worry about losing our spot or items). My only complaint? These guys have too many good songs to play in a single set. They need to find a good cover band to open for them and have them play their other songs. Need more reason to go? These guys stayed for a Meet & Greet after the show (first 200 customers to buy something). WHAT HEADLINER DOES THAT NOW DAYS? Answer - Only the best, only Sick Puppies.

The Sick Puppies show as usual was full of energy, great songs one after another. The Sick Puppies never disappoint every time I have seen them live they have been outstanding. First time seeing 10 Years and they killed it too! So much stage presence from everyone in 10 Years, they put on a great show and got the small crowd ready for the Sick Puppies. The Venue was very small which is awesome because you get to be so close no matter where you are. Only disappointment was because it was an all ages show you could not leave the bar area with a drink and you could not see the stage from the bar. I don't understand why bands play out here (Allentown) in these small clubs instead of Philly where you would expect them to have a better draw but I'm not complaining. Only about 500 people were there so it made for a great intimate experience. As usual the Sick Puppies stayed after the show to meet all their fans who wanted to meet them (way cool of them) and 10 Years was in the bar and open to people asking for autographs and pics (also way cool of them).

This was such a fantastic show for being at such a small venue. The only problem was that there were so many opening acts, that the main act didn't start until after 10 PM. The opening acts kept slowly getting worse, making it a long 4 hours before seeing Sick Puppies. Half-way through the show, Sick Puppies shifted gears into an mini-acoustic set done unplugged style. After that, they did a mash of many cover songs, including Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name." That was a pleasant surprise for me. They came back for a one-song encore and went out with a bang. One thing I liked about this show was how the band incorporated the crowd into the show and kept the energy flowing. Overall, it was an amazing show!

Sick Puppies is one of the most entertaining bands out there. Their stage performance, lighting and sound is top notch. I highly recommend SP to anyone and everyone who has not seen them perform live. All four bands were great. I first heard of/saw Sick Puppies last year when they opened for Shinedown at the Ogden. In my opinion, they out-performed Shinedown and really rocked the house. Obviously, it made a lasting impression on me as I knew I was going to get tickets to their show as soon as they went on sale. My only gripe about the whole experience is that there was a sign posted as you entered the venue that stated if you bought a CD or a t-shirt from Sick Puppies, you'd get a stamp and be able to attend a 'meet and greet' after the show. So, I dropped $15 on a CD and anxiously awaited. The show ended (after it ROCKED my face off!) and I got in line. When you reached the band, you weren't allowed to have your picture taken with them and you had to wait until you were through the line to take their photo. It was a bummer, but I did get my CD signed.

Both 10 Years and Sick Puppies put on an amazing show. The venue was nice and small, so it allowed the musicians to really connect with the audience. There was even a local band that played, which was a welcome surprise. This was an incredible show that had me cheering and singing the whole time.

Sick Pups put on a good show! As always... Small crowd, was disappointing. Sucks that they charge $7.00 for a can of beer in a plastic cup. You can buy a case of beer... 24 beers for what $15.00 at any store... And The Paramount has the balls to charge $7.00 a beer? Talk about a profit margin... However, the place was empty.

My first time seeing them. They put on a great show. I loved their combination of old and new songs. I knew all the old songs and bought a CD on the way out of the new ones. I find the new stuff to be a bit more mellow, less edgy. Still great music. Their performance was amazing and I can't wait for them to come back to NY.

My first time seeing them. I have been following them and know every word to most of their songs. I was not disappointed. The new CD I bought on the way out is a bit more mellow than I like but still great. I can't wait for them to come back to NY.

A must see band! Second time seeing them, my only complaint was that the set was way too short. Needed about an hour more.

Sick Puppies is a great band to see live. They really interact with their audience! They play everything you want to hear! And it was the album release party so they played a lot of the new album. They really want you to rock out and we certainly all did! I was ready to watch them again the second it was over! Go see them!

SO amazing! This venue is great, there is no bad place to watch the show. Close to the stage even at the back, you get a good view where ever you are. Shaman's Harvest rocked, and Sick Puppies were FANTASTIC!!! Played the new CD stuff, and old favorites (including my favorite - All The Same), as well as some of their lesser known older tunes. Really rocked, even did some crowd surfing while on guitar! And Emma was incredible! Such a fun show! And how great are they to their fans, everyone who bought a tshirt got meet and greet passes, and then they also decided to let anyone else in who wanted to wait in line! How cool. Couldn't have had a better night!

The venue is always one of my favorites the drinks are fairly priced. Shaman's Harvest rocked our faces off then, Sick Puppies tore the house down. It was a CD release party and if you bought the CD you got free meet and greet. They showed love for their fans and we all got our money's worth all the way around. See Shaman's Harvest! See Sick Puppies either way you won't be disappointed. EVER

It was nice to see Sick Puppies up close at the Pageant since it wasn't too packed. I love that Emma gets to sing a lot more these days too.

The opener for Sick Puppies was Shaman's Harvest, a local band for Missouri, however it was quite evident (beyond the bassist and drummer) that they were not having fun on stage. The song everyone knows "Dragonfly" was a cut above the rest in terms of performance, but overall they seemed stale in comparison to Sick Puppies. Once Shimon, Mark, and Emma hit the stage the crowd got wild and the intensity picked up. With a mix of 5 new songs off their new release "Connect" and some of their greats from Dressed Up As Life, Tri-Polar, and even a song from Welcome to The Real World, Sick Puppies rocked the Pageant and kept everyone excited and singing along from beginning to end. Once the SP hit the stage, the concert was a five star, however lack luster opener brought the score down to a 4.

This was the 4th time I've seen them live, and it was awesome! It was even cooler that it was Mark's birthday. Emma was amazing and sexy, as usual. Shim really connects with the audience. This is one of my favorite bands, and seeing them live again was great.

I've been to a lot of concerts and this was my 5th time seeing SP. The energy from both the fans and SP were incredible. There really are no words, you would have just to have to have been there!

Actually I'd give them no stars if that was an option because Sick Puppies didn't even play. Apparently they couldn't stick out the last 5 dates of the Triple Threat tour, but we didn't find out until we got to the show. We've seen Seether enough that we would not have spent the money had it not been for Sick Puppies playing with them. I feel dooped...what a waste of money.

I've seen them twice: once when I loved them, as an opening act to Nickleback, and another time at their own show when I LOOOOOVED them. I love these guys, I have an autographed poster and everything, and they never cease to amazing me with their emotion and talent- especially Emma on that Bass! That girl is amazing! I will never pass down an opportunity to see these guys!

I've never been to a Sick Puppies concert where I was ever disappointed. The other bands in the lineup were local and well paired for openers. Even though Eleanor Rigby's is a small venue that can heat up pretty quickly it's all worth it for such an amazing band. I can't wait to head to the next Sick Puppies concert!

Fantastic show from a fantastic band! This was the 3rd time I've seen them perform. This is the first headlining show though. They should be front line all the time! the only drawback were the drunk ass Notre Dame students. Some people can't handle their alcohol I guess! Douchbags! Didn't stop the flow of great music though!
