This show was simply amazing. Everyone in the crowd could feel the raw emotion from Brother Ali, Homeboy Sandman, and The Reminders. Each act gave it all they had for the fans, and no one left disappointed. These artist united the crowd through their music, and I have to believe that it is only a sample of what they can truly accomplish. Not only did I leave the venue feeling like I got my moneys worth, I left it knowing I had made a few new friends, and had a renewed hope for the world.

The show was amazing. All the artists put on a great show, however, it was hard to focus on the show because of the immaturity shown by most of the crowd. People were shoving, pushing, hitting and doing anything possible to get to the front row. I feel like security should have stepped in a bit more because there was a couple of angry guys that felt threatening (perhaps because of the amount of drugs they had taken?). Making it a 21+ show and maybe doing searches at the door could prevent some of the things that were taking place. After I was able to overlook those obstacles and focus on the show, the artists put on a damn good show.

Let me start by saying, I attended "The Undisputer Truth Tour" in 2007 at the same venue. I knew what to expect. Toki Wright, Evidence and BK One all were amazing. Brother Ali took the stage with a presence that indicated you will leave with a lifetime memory. In Minneapolis, the crowd knows the words to all the songs, they constantly have their hands up and they show love for the local talent. I am from the Chicago area, but there's no place to see a show like 1st Ave. and 7th St. Entry. The history of the building alone is staggering. When you consider the venue, the crowd participation, the artists on the tour........ There's no other review to give, but simply amazing. This is the second time I've been to a Brother Ali Homecoming Tour date. The Fresh Air Tour was just that, fresh air.

Whenever I go to a concert, I want to hear songs about real life that inspire you with a kick ass beat that makes you want to move. Brother Ali's rhymes are real for real people and he has the charisma of a preacher when he talks that makes you confident in yourself and in the world. First Avenue is always an amazing venue to watch a show, you can see from the side railings or from the upstairs balcony and it still feels intimate.

Brother Ali played something from every album, with an authentic home video collage playing behind him. Toki Wright and Evidence were exceptional as well, so make sure you get there early. I had the pleasure of seeing Faheem and listening to him spit a little. Beautiful show.

Brother Ali killed it @ Warehose Live !!!!! Best show I've seen since his last show in Dallas. Only Atmosphere sharing the stage live would have made it better. Rhymesayers doing in up right in Houston Tx. People you owe it to yourselves to check out Brother Ali and other Rhymesayers artist. That's whats up!!!!

Brother Ali always puts on a good show... but this one topped 'em all! It was energetic, fun and over all a great time! The only reason it doesn't get the full 5 stars is because it was a little short! (about an hour and fifteen minutes) When he was done I was left wanting more! Highly recommended! If you like the Legends you'll love this show!!

This show was worth 20 bones half way into the first performer (Toki), no kidding. It just kept getting better. It was interactive, personal, and most importantly just plain dope. What really set this show apart, is that all three rappers made damn sure we not only had a great time, but felt truly appreciated as fans. Toki Wright - Amazing, Mesmerizing, Smart, High Energy (get his new album) Evidence - Classic, In-your-face, Highly Talented Brother Ali - What else can I say, he's a bad mutha f*cka! BK-One - perfection, never missed a queue, always creative.

The El Rey was a great place to go. History was made that night as Toki, Evidence, and Brother Ali hit the stage. Subs were bumping and people packed the place. There was still room to move around even with standing room. No drama just good times.

This show was not only one of the best compilations of Rhymesayers I've seen, it was also a show that was pulsing with hope and intention. Everyone on stage brought the message of their set back to the reason we were all there, throwing love out to Haiti and reminding us to fight for them and stay hopeful through action. Not to mention each emcee rocked out on stage with such passion and talent!!! Slug was the best host I could imagine - he is beautiful, hysterical, lyrical and intentional. All around, one of my favorite concerts I've ever been to. Rhymesayers = love. MN nice!!

Overall it was an amazing concert. It got started a little late, but The Reminders came out and made up for it. They were a kick ass opener, sounded good, and got everyone excited. Then Homeboy Sandman came out for a set that seemed to last forever. No one could understand what he was saying and the most enjoyable part was his face when he wasn't rapping. When he finally stopped and Brother Ali came out the room exploded. Everyone was having a great time and the music was excellent. Brother Ali kicked ass and so did his musicians. He played a perfect set with all of his best songs and I loved it.

I've been to many of his shows. Always puts on a great show and has good artists that open the show as well. Really liked THE REMINDERS. And while every Ali show I've been to is great, there is really nothing like a live band performance. I did enjoy his DJ Bk-One, but this live band hip hop is by far the best type of performance. Love the energy he has and the message behind his art is great.

Brother Ali, though noticeably under the weather during this show, still gave it his all. Rarely, if ever, do you see a hip hop artist take a break in the show to tell his fans how he's been feeling in the last couple years, how grateful he is that they listen to the music he's dedicated his time to, what book he recommends they read, etc. You get just that at one of his shows. The energy could have been a little higher, and his live performance group would greatly benefit from adding a drummer/percussionist to the mix. In the end, though, as a big fan of Mr. Ali's, I wasn't disappointed.

Brother Ali put on a good show! His opening act, "The Reminders" was very energetic and fresh. Brother Ali even did an encore and dealt appropriately with a rude audience member to further his message. He came out to greet us after the concert-best part!

Let me first start off with saying that i am a huge Ali fan. The first band, The Reminders, were absolutely excellent. They had great delivery, a ton of energy, talent, and the mix sounded awesome. The second performer, Homeboy Sandman, was downright horrible. His beats were pretty awesome but as soon as he opened his mouth to rap I wanted to leave the venue. Super annoying vocals and his style was nothing to write home about. In between songs he came off as arrogant and didn't have a clue what he was talking about. My feelings on Brother Ali live are mixed. I LOVED that he came on stage and played with a band for the entire night. But the mix was a little off and muddy so I couldnt make out a couple instruments. Brother Ali was an excellent public speaker and super inspiring. But since his songs are so political, I dont think the music translated on stage very well. No disrespect, i just think Ali may be more of a studio artist. Nevertheless, it was a cool experience seeing him live.

The paradise was not big enough to hold Ali's presence, too many drunk pretenders, and the staff was typical of Boston: lovingly cold hearted. Despite that the show was electric with the fire of creative lyrics and dope beats to shelter those truly listening from the storm outside. The set list was different, Ali came out with a heart felt song that told a story of his life and the past year which was tragic involving the death of his father and close friend and Hip Hopper Eyedea. Just seeing Brother Ali in person was enough for me, and his new album I wish got more performance, but all I can say is that the show was its own, separate from all other concerts I have been to. Go see him, listen to the words and the message of truth behind it. Word to the Brother.

Brother Ali is as good as it gets. The most inspiring artist out there. All his material is real life and meaningful. The show was a real show. Ali had a partial band and he puts on a real performance. Some songs get you grooving, others force you to really listen and step back from the usual concert atmosphere. The best part is that Ali really talks to the audience and explains the meaning behind some songs and the events of his life. You leave feeling connected. Plus Immortal Technique made a guest appearance!

I already knew Ali was one of the top hip hop artists and lyricists i have had the pleasure of listening to, but coupled with the live band (guitarist, keys and three guys switching between trumpet, flute, banjo, sax, trombone, etc.) it was an experience. Also, Brother Ali is one funny dude. Had some real introspective stuff to say, mixed with a nice dose of comedy. and he came out and thanked everyone after, one by one. In my top three shows of all time. Go support the Brother.

Coldplay was forgettable and they are awful. But, that is not my review for the night, just the facts. On a night where I got to see Simms come into his own and Slug overdress, a lot money was raised for a great cause. Leave it to Rhymesayers to put egos to the side and help others. In a rap world where nothing is better than beating your own drum, its nice to see the indy hip-hop game hasn't changed. It just evolved. The sold out show at First Avenue was one for the ages. Even though Brother Ali was the headliner all the acts were on point. The highlight, for me, was the Sage and B Dolan set. What an event to see 2 larger than life guys shake the house with a lot of Sages older songs. Just an over all great night. Thanks guys

Amazing show! I love First Avenue, and it was the perfect lineup. I am glad I got tickets when I did - the show sold out. I wish Slug had performed a bit more than just one song with Brother Ali, but he was only hosting after all. My favorite part was definitely B Dolan and Sage Francis' performance - the main reason I went. Also loved seeing Muja Messiah and Brother Ali, they both had great energy. Ok, I loved the entire show, I've got nothing bad to say!

This was an amazing show put on by one of the best hip-hop artists out of Minnesota. Brother Ali put on a great performance. He is very passionate and positive in his music. He also made me proud to be from Minnesota. Even as a longtime Rhymesayers fan (went to my first show at Intermedia Arts in 1996), this was definatly one of the best shows they have put on! The video clips playing along with the songs added to the scene on stage. The opening acts, Toki Wright and Evidence, were on the same level as Ali and made for a fun, well balanced show from start to finish!
