Flashback festival was great like always but Sheila E stole the show. If I had to suggest anything I would say add add at least 1 high energy funk band each festival, like cameo, gap band, parliament, zapp, etc

I love bands. CAMEO, AWB and Zapp were absolutely great. If you read the first line you would understand why I wasn't so high on SWV. They had no band. The performance overall was great. (I missed Brick's performance).

On two occassions the sound went completely out for a short period while Midnight Star was on stage performing. Overall the show was good, but they need to improve on the sound system. What's a concert when you can't even hear the music ??

The show was wonderful! All the acts were great and gave 100% to the crowd. Midnight Star put on a great show even through technical and sound difficulties. The Whispers were wonderful. Doug E. Fresh was phenomenal and Zapp was fantastic! There were people from all ages there and the crowd was wonderful. It felt like a family reunion and a house party all in one. The DJ was great and people were line dancing in the aisles. Even through the technical difficulties of the evening, the crowd was still warm and gracious. I will definitely be coming back to next years' Flashback Festival and if you like good old school music, so should you!

After 15 years the Flashback Festival is still going strong. This celebration of Old School Funk was as always amazing thanks to the artists and their professionalism. There was some tech problems but the show went on as expected. As with any event there was parking issues. Lakewood still does not expect this crowd to presist, but we again prevailed, showed up and showed out with yet another fabulous tailgate party. We are looking forward to the same and better next year.

The show was great! I especially enjoyed Doug E Fresh and Midnight Star. On that note, I think that you should have allowed one of these performers to close the show so that we would have left energized. Still had a great time.

I really enjoyed myself as always ,there was 8 of us all together and we had a great time.My only comment not complaint was the heat , would it be possible to have some fans blow a water mist through the covered area next time? Other than that everything was great.

Have not missed a Flashback Festival in the 12 years I've been living in The A. It continues to be a great grown folks party, with outstanding entertainment, great location, and all at a reasonable price. We always sit on the lawn where the REAL party goes on. This years entertainment was again fantastic, Club Nouveau set the tone as opening act and it just kept rolling from there. Zapp, even without Roger, was very good. Dougie Fresh was off the meter, really getting the crowd going. Midnight Star kept it hyped with a fantastic medley of their hits. And finally, The Whispers, what can I say. Smooth vocals, great band, so many hits, a perfect ending to another memorable show.

The festival was good as usual. However, I was very very disappointed that the sound went out again during a performance. It happened last night with Atlantic Star and a few years ago during Charlie Wilson's performance. This is not cool !!! I pay money to hear good music the entire time I am there and the sound should be professional and never go out. Hire companies that know what they are doing!! EXPERIENCED AUDIO ENGINEERS PLEASE!!!

This was my first Flashback festival that I wanted to attend and I must say that I was impressed. After all of these years, all of the acts were exceptional and sounded/looked great! I'm a HUGE Midnight Star fan and loved every minute of their performance. Club Nouveau surprised me - sounded good! And what can I say about Zapp - I did not expect to see the performance they put on - what energy they have! Last but not the least, Doug E. Fresh took us way back to the old skool days of music - outstanding! Can't wait to see who's going to be on the line-up for next year. Thanks to all of the groups for a superb performance!!! I had a BLAST!!!!!!!

Slick Rick was underwhelming. SOS band was awesome! Sheila E awesome. Chaka....vocals amazing. Awareness not so great and horrible stage presence for a veteran. She didn't even know who else was on the show. Very low lighting so you couldn't see her for a couple of songs. Left stage for a couple of songs. Venue drink prices are borderline robbery. Reserved seats so close together there's no room to dance. The Wolfcreek experience is sooo much better provided it doesn't rain. May be my last Aarons concert.

I took note, the concert began on time, not one minute late. Everybody was spectacular, if I had to pick my favorite... I can't do it!! They all were great!! I thought the parking could have been better managed. They directed you in, but no one directed out, it was a mad house.

The show was awesome from beginning to end!!! It was good to see Tom Joyner!! I have been to all but 3 of the 20 and overall it was one of the best. Our seats were in Section 101, they were uncomfortable and they are too close together. No room to dance or move around had to climb over each others laps to get out during intermission. I will get my seats from now on in the 200 Section. I Loved being close to the stage and able to see the performers!! Just very tight seating in the section.

Great show! Sheila E. was exceptional! It was literally hot in "Hot Atlanta" with the beat of her drums and energy! All of the other sets were very good as well. Sheila deserved the 5 minute standing ovation after her performance. Ms. E must have lost 5-10 pounds Sat evening during her set by giving us her all while being very personable with the audience.

Fortunately we purchased reserved seats under the shelter, so we didn't have to leave during the storm. Felt bad for those on the lawn. War was my favorite act. Just hearing the first few bars of any of their songs instantly transports me back to the 1970s! I guess Bootsy Collins was the headliner since he performed last. We left during his set. Traffic exiting the venue was extremely light. Apparently most people left when the lawn was evacuated.

Me and my husband enjoyed the show. All the bands were Class acts..Bootsy needs to come back next year and play a full set. We sat under the cover which shielded us from the rain, but unfortunately water from under the stage started running on the floor and rising and smelling like sewage. If eventually receded. Other than that the show was good. When they said the show would stop at 11:00 pm, they weren't playing. Bootsy sung two sentences of I'd Rather be with you then it abruptly ended. Oh well... Hopefully next year there will be good bands and no rain.

The event was a very nice one. The rain was a downer but the performances were great. Great except for the way Bootsy was cut off at 11 p.m. This was not right. He was grooving us all. I know there was a rain delay that impacted the performances, but that just wasn't right. I plan to continue to come to these events but contingency plans should be made for weather delays.

Overall Flashback was pretty good considering we got rained on for 2-3 hours. I came to see Bootsy Collins so I wasn't going to leave before he hit the stage. It was very disappointing that he had only 28-30 minutes to perform. It took an hour to set up the stage!! Really!!!!!!! I enjoyed all the acts this year!

flashback was very entertaining not out 1st many behind us, all an all, they need too work on the leaking roof flooding floor and something for the people who paid a good price for front row seats. security wasn't on there job, the show rock WAR handle there on and BOOSTY FUNK was cut short was very upset with that hope they bring him back in the future.

I was Sitting in the front By the stage when out of No where, water was coming from under the Stage. Little by little it was making its way to where i was Sitting with my Guest. Both Dress to the "T". Her with a Long Sun Dress,me with Slacks and Dress shoes. As the Water started to rise over my Shoes to where My Pants and Shoes are now Water LOGGED,PLUS My guess Feet and Dress got all wet due to us leaving the area that Water Over Came our Seating Area. We Moved From Our Seats (Sec 101 Row E Seats 1&2) to Empty Seats In Row O and P back away from the Water. We Paid for Covered Seats Not Seats with Water Over taking up in the Front Row Close to the Stage or Even the Seats we Moved to,Now there is Water Coming from Above in the Covered seated Area. At this Point, they are Moving Everyone from the Lawn to Where I am Seating due to the storm. The Person On The Mic Said Come in From the Rain or go to your Cars,Come in and have a Seat or go to your Cars but Security was giving People a hard time Seating in the VIP Area where there was Plenty of Empty seats. This was The Worst Show i have Been to. I will give you a Chance to make things Right Before My Video ge turned over to the Media Outlet and Posted onto Facebook to Go Viral about why not to Attend Aaron's Amphitheater at Lakewood.

I have been attending Flashback for 18 out of 19 shows. I order my tickets early. My seats would have been great if the Giant Speaker were not blocking our view. I enjoyed everyone. WAR was exceptional. Too bad the last act could only perform 2 1/2 songs because they turned the power off. It was storming and delayed the show.

This year s Flashback welcomed two new artists for their first appearance WAR and BOOTSY COLLINS. Both were great but time allowed to perform was interrupted by bad weather in the area and a strict venue curfew of 11p.m. WAR did as many songs as possible in about an hour but the time for BOOTSY was cut to 30 minutes which was very disappointing for all the fans and BOOTSY as well who apparently was not aware of the cutoff time telling the audience How can you stop The FUNK? BOOTSY said he would return and I would love to see him again soon or book him for next year right now. The most important part is changing the start time to begin at 4p.m. This will allow for unexpected issues such as weather and stage equipment rearrangements to not affect artists to share more music with the audience. It will also allow for an after party if the show ends a little early or an encore for the closing act.

The first half of show was good, then the rain came. It was announced the everyone on grass to move underneath covering. Rude people seized the opportunity to take seat that did not belong to them. I went to toilet and came back, a female who took my seat refused to move. I sought security and got no help. They were very apathetic and did not know what to do. I did not go to an even and pay over a hundred dollars and get involved in a confrontation over a reserved seat. I left the event prior to the restarting of the next performers (War). You have lost me as a patron

Overall the show itself was awesome as always. Hopefully they will bring Bootsy back next year so that he'll have more time to perform. Also there was a problem with leaks in the roof, and flooding on the floor under the covered seating; hopefully these problems also will be taken care of soon. But the performers were professional and amazing overall.

Great show overall. 11:00 curfew should be modified in cases of weather related delays. If it's a case of the stage crew being slow, then I would not extend curfew. Bootsy's performance was cut short because of this.

Overall I still liked this year flashback. I have been attending for the past 5 years. The rain caused the only problems I saw with the concert. We waited an hour in silence for the lightening to pass. You had several comedians on stage. They should have walked around and interacted with the crowd. I know the equipment being struck was the reason the music wasn't playing but they could have connected an IPOD to one speaker and let us heard something.. They then rushed through the concert trying to get out on time.. We had problems with security attempting to come to pavilion since we couldn't be on the lawn. It wasn't fair that we had to leave.

This year had great acts, however, SWV did not fit with these groups. I gave it 4 stars because of the lineup order. It was wayyyyy off! Groups without bands should begin the concert. Plus, a concert such as Flashback does not need modern artists to sing prior to the show. Mixxmaster Mitch does a wonderful job entertaining prior to the start of the show and during intermission. That's all thats needed.

from the begining of the show with club nuevo they did,nt have a band and they only song 3 or 4 songs one from there new upcoming album which did not sound goog at all, then zapp performed and it was nowhere what i expected, they tryed to do the old songs that were hits when roger and his brother were alive but they just could,nt do it , it was almost a mess, midnight star were jamming as i thought they would, then came the wispers they did ok but after listen to midnightstar , you can,t close the show with a bunch of slow songs ,by the time it was over people were so board, it was,nt funny, some body needs to let mr tom joyner no that he needs to apolgize to the people for this show and promise that next years show will not be this way.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere but Lakewood Amphitheatre is the worst venue in Atlanta. They won't let you bring anything in and they charge you astronomical prices for food and drinks. You must plan on spending over a hundred dollars for a $35.00 event. The acts were good, all but the headliner Ronald Isley. OMG! He must retire. Keith Sweat should have been the closer. I go every year because of tradition but this venue is wearing me out.

The concert was well worth the money. Unfortunately for some, after performing for about 20 minutes George Clinton said, "Thank You Atlanta" and most thought the show was over and left the venue. The show continued for another hour and a half. Total performance was 2 hours long. Fortunately I was able to enjoy the entire show. Although I did get up to leave, I stood by the exit for a few minutes and saw that the show wasn't over. Definitely worth the money.

I was excited t o hear George Clinton was going to be at Flashback but was a little bit disappointed in the event. The acts before him were to short and he was to long trying to make up for there shortness. And once again the at before the headliner stole the show I have been going to flashback from the beginning, this was one the worst Clinton needed to play what everybody remembered him for.We left about pm and he was still going and most of the people had already left. The video coverage needed to be for the entire show and I am in the Video productions business there is away to do that even with the daylight. With all of this being said it the best buy for your dollar but I will have to think twice about 2017 this show was not well attended. Try to do better. Flashback fan

Worse show out of 10 we have attended. Never had a bad experience until this show. Pros: 911 should have been headliner. Certainly were the best of all the groups! Taste of Honey were given only 20 minutes to perform! Are they 4 Real! Cons: Parking Gates now open at 3:30, used to be 3:00pm. Time matters when tailgating. Radio Personalities: Talks to much!! It's okay to thank sponsors. Talking the entire time during intermission and even while the DJ is trying to do his thang! Their loud and continous talking still ringing in my brain!! Let the DJ do what he does and we can dance and listen to the music!! Lakeside lead singer was absent and the replacement changed the entire performance. George Clinton..one word...AWEFUL!!! Many of us got up and left during the first song!! Certainly a different band, taste and performers. Not for Old School Lovers!!

The music was okay. Taste of Honey was not given enough time to perform. George Clinton was playing stuff no one was familiar with. to be honest, Lakewood sucks as an outdoor venue. There are way too many limitations on what you can bring to the venue. No umbrellas? No alcohol yet marijuana was in abundance in the restrooms. They charge $12.00 for a 22oz. can of beer which is hot by the time you get half-way through it. If you guys were to lighten up a little on the restrictions (chairs, coolers, etc.) perhaps it could be a better experience. But to be quite honest this festival has been ruined by greed and poor organization. Would'nt recommend it!!! Oh yeah, and the tailgaters took all of the VIP parking spaces which we had already paid for!

This was our first Flashback concert and we enjoyed every minute of it! It was nonstop partying from beginning to end. Chaka, Sheila E, and the SOS band were phenomenal and sounded as good as they did from the beginning of their careers. It was delightful to hear someone actually singing who could really sing! It was true talent at its best. In addition to the artists being really good, the crowd was there for one reason and one reason only and that was to PARTY! No bickering, arguing, or obnoxious drunks! The DJ was great between acts as well. This may have been our first Flashback concert, but it definitely will not be the last!!!

All of the scheduled artists were good. Slick Rick did his thing. Chaka Khan sang her heart out. The SOS Band gave us all of their classics. The band sounds so good. And Sheila E played those drums.

What a great show. Every act was great, Shelia E. stole the show and turned it up. She made it hard for Chaka. But my girl came with it.

I have been to several Flashback concerts and this one I was not pleased with. I really loved SOS Band and Shelia E but the rest was not the best. I think Sheila E should have performed as the last person to perform. I got tired of hearing Chaka Khan talking about how hot it was and not performing the best. Some of the music she was singing made me leave. I hope the next year be better.
