The B-52s

THE B-52S IN CONCERT: Since forming in 1976, The B-52s have always stood out for their thrift-store chic style and ability to craft catchy, retro-inspired hits. Over the years they might have let their beehives down, but every-thing else about the band is still as tight as it was 30 years ago. Their call-and-response choruses always get fans singing along, and their fun and funky grooves will have you dancing right along with the band. The B-52s are taking their party atmosphere to select cities across the U.

B-52 s were great live at the Hampton Casino. The audience was shimmying and shaking to many of their staples like Love Shack and Roam. They also performed some less popular and just as fun songs. Hope they come again to NH soon.

The B-52s were the first band I ever saw in concert 28 years ago. They did not disappoint then and the same goes with this show! The venue posted a note stating to be there on time seeing there was no opening act. I was thrilled because the B-52s show is pretty much standing and dancing throughout the concert. We arrived and found a perfect spot and on came an opening band. They were good, between their set and having to move equipment afterwards, the band went on at 9. After 40+ years this band never fails to impress. They are so much fun to watch and dance with. They still sound fantastic. As long as they continue to tour, I ll continue to attend their shows. I love how close the Hampton Beach Casino is to my home. A great night out!

The B-52's are still just as fun, funky, and rockin it out as they were when I was in college. As an Alumni of Ga. Tech. I was able to relive the good ole days. The B-52's have the staying power that transcends generations. I would recommend to anyone to enjoy the sounds of the B-52's

The B-52's may be the tightest band I've ever seen. Guess that is what you get when you play together for 30 years. The size of the HOB Boston is perfect for a band like them. The one thing I didn't like is that they came on at 9 for a 7PM show. Nearly 45 minutes between opening band and feature is too long. That and the $6 Pabst Blue Ribbon...too much.

The B-52's rocked The House of Blues, Boston, on May 16, 2009. The band played full force from the opening number until the final encore. Fred Schneider frantically danced about while sarcastically shouting out his lyrics, while Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson looked hip and sexy as they belted out lyrics better than they did back in their early days. All vocals were excellent, powerful, and reverberated throughout the venue, which allowed excellent viewing as well as phenomenal acoustics. Keith Strickland tore it up on electric guitar, and the back up musicians were perfectly in sinc. Both the new and the old songs sounded as good as they did on the original albums, and the bands stage presence was vibrant with lots of interaction with their zealous audience. The crowd was quite diverse, and included people of all ages, genders and races. Being an avid B-52's fan and having seen them live several times before, I'd have to say they didn't miss a beat and are as good now if not better than ever. The show was truly a phenomenal experience for the ears as well as the eyes. I can't wait to see them again!

The members of The B-52's not only remained true to their original sound, they did so while also remaining true to themselves! The show was lively and fun, and it would have been that way just given the playlist. But the band members were also entertainers, and their enjoyment and command of the stage was evident. Not only did the audience dance, we laughed, listened, and interacted. It is always a pleasure to have the opportunity to experience music live, especially at such an accessible venue like Rams Head Live! But to have the additional benefit of gracious hosts on stage elevates the concert to its true heights.

I HAD BEEN TO THE B 52'S SHOW 26 YEARS AGO IN BRASIL ,THERE WERE A ROCK CONCERT FOR 10 DAYS CALLED "ROCK'N RIO" . IT WAS LOVE ON THE FIRST SITE,I LOVED THAT BAND SINCE THE VERY FIRST MOMENT I SAW THEM,SO FOR ME WAS FUNNY TO SEE THEM AGAIN HERE IN THE US.I REALLY HAD FUN THAT NIGHT. CURIOSITY: I WAS WEARING THE SAME LITTLE BAG I WORE ON THE FIRST SHOW 26 YEARS AGO, I TOLD SOME PEOPLE THAT WERE AROUND ME AND THEY LOVED IT! I JUST GOT LITTLE SAD BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T PLAY "LEGAL TENDER". BUT,EVEN STILL IT WAS WORTHY!

I have been a fan of the B-52's for 24 years, so I was so excited to see them. They were FABULOUS! They were full of energy and the girls voices were as good as ever. The House of Blues is a great venue. Even the opening act, The 88, was terrific. The only thing I didn't like was that it was shorter than I'd like. I wish they'd played longer. That is the only reason I did not give them 5 stars. I wanted more!

I've loved the B-52's since I was 8. I'm now 26 and this was my first opportunity to see them. They did not dissapoint by any means! Kate and Cindy looked beautiful and all the vocals were spot on. Everyone was having the best time both on stage and off. It was awesome that they played a great mix of old and new material, especially dipping into songs that only true fans would appreciate. I would recommend this show to anyone who loves New Wave and the band.

The first time I saw the B52's was in Providence Rhode Island in the 80's I wore a Karate top and black leather pants spiked hair and make-up, no big deat today, thank you Adam Lambert, but back then there was a good chance I would beat up if I was in the wrong location. That night we danced screamed and fell to the ground during "Rock Lobster". Last night was no different except when we fell down for "Rock Lobster" we did so much more carefully and I have to admit my outfit was business casual as I went from work to the concert, and at 46 years old I left off the makeup. Fred Cindy and Kate were true artist and had the Livermore Vally on it's feet rocking, screaming, laughing and they had us completely not acting our age, Thank you B52s the show was fabulous!

The normally appreciative but sedate audience at the Wente Vineyards were on their feet dancing at their tables, in the aisles, on the grass and filled the small portable dance floor laid out on the grass. Normally at Wente, the baby-boomer audience is largely in their seats and politely applauding with a few dancers. Last evening saw moms and dads with their kids, old and young grooving and shaking their hips to this great New York chic dance band. Clever lyrics and rocking rythyms, funky Fred reciting and the girls with their high harmonies...everybody movin', everybody grovin'. Wente was turned into a veritable Love Shack.

The B52s were incredible...they sounded great, hit all the standards plus some of the obscure tunes too. Everyone was dancing and singing and having a great time. There wasn t a bad seat in the venue and it was great that security let us dance in the aisles, even they were having a fun time! Grew up in the 80s partying to their music so it was so great to still see them rocking, I can only hope I look like them at 70!

Best if their last three shows I've seen. Finally Vindy was in good voice, but Kate makes it happen. Orchestration was too predictable for symphony. Too much fun!! Of course they show their age, but all their voices still sound nearly identical to most every recording you've ever heard. Plus the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra strings! (Especially awesome during Rock Lobster when they went down the cords as Fred sang, "Down, down, down.") It was also fun watching Fred recurrently look back at the orchestra behind him and laugh as if in amazement. Katie's still crazy, and Cindy is still demure. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

The B-52's are still one happy family bringing their music to America one city at a time. What more can you ask for on a cool summer night at a county fair than the B52's. They all sound great and Fred is still the ultimate showman. Everyone knew the lyrics to every song and before long no one was sitting down. It became on big dance party and our hosts were the B-52's. They player their first set of more obscure tracks but on the second set they came back and played hit after hit with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra and they accented their music perfect. Everyone was moving and grooving baby.

The B52s sounded great and performed really well. The back up symphony made a nice contribution to a very full sound on the ones they performed. The audience was on their feet for most of the time. My gripe is that the songs weren't their greatest hits but rather a collection of songs I wasn't that familiar with. Maybe it is my fault for not knowing all their songs, but I was hoping for more songs that I did know. Glad I saw them. I have been a fan from the beginning, but maybe a die hard fan would have enjoyed it more.

Full disclosure: I am a major fan of the band and have seen them (now) four times live. This particular time, being a casino show, was a bit brief, at just under 90 minutes. However, the band sounds great as always, and Fred seemed particularly feisty, perhaps due to performing in his home state. Kate and Cindy were terrific, of course. Most of the songs performed were from their self-titled debut album. Fred said at one point that before they were new wave, they were punk ("back in the Stone Age"). There was nothing from Whammy! or Bouncing Off the Satellites, and one two songs each from their other albums (except the singular "Mesopotamia" from that self-titled EP). Still, the backup was strong and the beats rockin'. The standout for me was, surprisingly, "Is That You, Mo-Dean?" from the 'Good Stuff' album, which plays much better live than it ever did on the album. "6060-842" was also a welcome surprise. All in all, a fine set The venue doesn't have a bad seat in the house, which is great for those of us in the back row. :)

A Fantastic Performance by the "Worlds Greatest Party Band" The B-52's did not disappoint an enthusiastic room of loyal fans and admirers. The Florida Theater was an incredible venue that created a perfect backdrop for the delightful evening. The staff at Florida Theater was professional, attentive and very friendly, which added a great deal to the overall ease and enjoyment of the event as a whole. It would be wrong to regard this wonderful and talented group as an "80s" music band as their recorded work spans over three decades and they have been touring almost non stop since 1978. Lead singer Kate Pierson has just recently released her highly acclaimed "Guitars and Microphones" solo CD which has received very favorable reviews.

The B-52s music has always been a lot of fun. Love Shack was played at almost every frat party I went to when I was in college. Everyone would be on the dance floor having a good time. I was hoping for the same vibe at this show. Despite a late start (1 hour after time on ticket and no opener) that was exactly what I got. They started the show with Planet Claire . I had never realized that Kate Pierson sang the Ahhhahhahhahh parts of this song that sound like a synthesizer. That is talent. The crowd immediately started dancing. The show continued with Mesopotamia , Private Idaho and others. Kate and Fred Schneider left the stage for Cindy Wilson to perform Girl From Ipanema Goes to Greenland solo. There were a couple of cracks in her voice but overall what an amazing job. Both Kate and Cindy had their signature bouffant hairdos as did a few look-a-likes in the audience. Their pre-encore show closer was Love Shack . The audience shouted out Bang bang and Tin roof, rusted at the top of their lungs, of course. When The B-52s returned to the stage for their encore, they performed a couple more songs and then closed out the show with Rock Lobster . Sadly the show did not sell out and there was no poster after the show. I would have hoped that because The B-52s are legendary that The Fillmore would have printed a poster anyway.

Having seen both bands many times over the years, I'd give it a solid B for a grade. The sound was okay, but not as loud as we or the bands wanted, but it's the OC, and that's the way it goes. X was not thrilled with opening while it was still light, and left three awesome hits in their pocket. The B-52's were Hella Mega into it, the show just rocked! X is the second greatest band L.A. has produced, the Doors will always rule L.A., they are always worth seeing!

Caught the B-52's and Go-Go's at the Tulalip Amphitheatre this past Saturday July 6. The venue was very convenient and accessible, with a surprisingly good sound system. Seating was a little rough and tight, and the porta-poties left a lot to be desired. The bands, however, were frigg'n amazing. The B-52's played a lot from their older catalog and exhibited very strong vocals, backed up by an amazingly tight rhythm duo and very good keyboards. The front three are still rocking hot and irresistibly cool. I was totally caught off guard by the Go-Go's. I mostly knew their catalog from MTV, where they always seemed to be packaged as pop tarts. In concert they absolutely rocked! These gals are not just eye candy - they are very serious rock musicians with an incredibly tight sound that blew me away. I would see either band again in a heartbeat, and will pay much closer attention to the shows offered at the Tulalip Amphitheatre.

I've seen the Go-Go's 4 times now, and they get better each time! They do excellent with their hits like "Our Lips are Sealed" and "Vacation." Their cover of Belinda's "Mad About You" and the Stones "Paint it Black" were awesome rockers! The "We Got the Beat" with the Kiss song "I Want to Rock and Roll All Night" in the middle was a highlight of the show! It was all fantastic and I would go again and again if I could. I also recommend the VIP experience as the seats were incredible and the ladies in the band were just as gracious as they could be with their fans! Everything impressed me---Everything!

Although the GoGo's sound seemed a bit off they still were great and got the crowd pumped! The B52's were even more amazing and got everyone dancing! Fun night for sure! Just have to say Roseland Ballroom is such a great venue for a concert! Open floor so you can move about as you like and great viewing from anywhere in the house! One of the best shows I've seen in a while.

This concert was really good. Terri Nunn & Berlin were great as always. She hasn't lost her voice one bit. The B52's were also good, however, there were a lot of older songs that they didn't play that I really wanted to hear. They played half new songs and half old. The only thing I didn't like about the concert is that I had to pay admission to get into the fair. I just wanted to see the show, not attend the fair, so it was pretty much a waste of money getting into the fair when I didn't even walk around or do anything. I just went strictly to see the show. I won't be attending any more concerts at the LA Fair due to this.

We LOVE the B52s. They are the funnest band and we are non-stomp dancing/singing. The only thing we can say negative is the sound was a little off but it had nothing to do with the band it may have been the location. Our seats were decent, we were so happy not to be stuck to far off to the side or way in the back. Its not an amphitheater so we know to get our tickets early. They played all of our old favorites (rock lobster, love shack, private idaho) and alot of the Funplex album. We look forward to seeing them again when they come to town for sure. Also, Berlin was a special treat - Terri Munn can sing!

Decent venue and great show by both performers! The grandstand seating is spread out pretty far cutting off half of the stage view for the people on the sides so I will be splurging for the good seats next time so we can actually see the show. The only complaint I have is with tickemaster. They may have it in fine print somewhere but we had no idea we would have to purchase entry tickets into the fair to see the show (6 tickets x $12= $72!) Parking was an additional $12 for a grand total of $84 just to get to our seats. Being from San Diego and not knowing the venue I guess that's our fault. Great show though! The guy selling T-shirts was not set up properly so it took over an hour to get shirts as well.

After all these years they still put on one of the best, most fun shows I've ever had the pleasure to attend. They did songs from all parts of their history, focusing a lot on the most recent album, Funplex. What made my night was the fact they played 'Lava' which is the first song by them I ever heard back when their first album came out which I bought on the strength of the cover shot alone...I knew they looked like fun! and I was right. A really pleasant note was Fred taking the time to hand one of his instruments to a very young man dancing in the front. Very classy action...

The band sounded great! Boy, do their songs "take you back"!!! It was so nostalgic...impossible to not stand the whole time and DANCE, DANCE, DANCE!! There aren't many bands that can "fill a house" and "rock it" 30 years later! I would definitely see them again!

It was an absolutely stellar show from start to finish. I felt the sound was a little muffled as there were time when I couldn't near Fred and Cindy. But they were further away from my seat (Orchestra left row E , seat 1) ...when he came to our side I could hear him just fine. I've read that the acoustics in the Fox Theatre aren't that great. I don't think I agree with that statement but there were slight audio issues at times. Still, the show was amaaazing!! I really hope they come back. Parking was a breeze (which was a great concern of mine). I parked in the Red Lot. It was $20 and my car was still there when I came back. I wish I could have had pit seats but Keith Strickland made it clear he could see us...he even made a nod to let us know that...at least I saw it. That was awesome! I could go on and on. I want a repeat of this show. I'm willing to return to the Fox for it because it is a beautiful theatre. People got out into the aisles

It was great to see one of my favorite bands again. The beginning was little rough due to sound issues (the BMO stage is brand new and every band I have seen there has struggled with the first few songs). They put on a great show but it could have been a longer set. I think time is starting catch up with them a bit.

We danced, laughed and had a blast. And we were well accompanied. It was cold, rainy but that didn't matter. :) It could have been a bummer of a concert but b/c it was the B-52s ... their music carried us all through the less than ideal for a concert weather... with smiles on our faces and joy in our hearts.

It was a great show! The B-52's Fred, Cindy, Kate and Keith were still in rare form rocking it out to all their songs! Beautiful evening at Marymoore park picnicking on the grass! Going strong for 35 years! I love the B-52's always a fun show!

DISCLAIMER: I've been a fan of the B-52s since about 1982 but this was my first time seeing them and so am biased and don't know how to compare them to their previous concerts. The B-52s were incredible! I was afraid they'd get stuck in their "Love Shack" success but at least half of the night was dedicated to their best singles and albums including my favourites: Planet Clair, Private Idaho, Rock Lobster, Dirty Back Road, and so on. Though I hated high school, the music during that time saved me and it was as though I was again transported to that safe place I found as a teenager but with hundreds (if not thousands) of kids my own age dancing along with me. My only critique is that I could have kept going and wanted to hear more but I am satisfied with my night of bliss. This was my first time at CSM as well and all I can say is WOW what a venue! I can't imagine a venue as perfect. A perfect setting where you're treated like adults who just want to have fun and be a kid again. I had tickets for the reserved seating in the front but was just as satisfied if not more to sit with my friends on the lawn, picnic style, further back and laid back for the entire show.

We had a great time at the venue for the B-52's. Only problem was the band was coming on stage a bit late. Not to be helped. They work hard for their fans. Great time!

First time at Aura and seeing B52's, both were fabulous! Stage very visible from most vantage areas, not too large and sound was very good. B52's were very energizing and performed flawlessly!! Great time!

The B52's were high energy fun. They brought the "luv" to the crowd who couldn't stop dancing. I sang right along with them and teared up when they started playing Rome, as that song influenced joy when times were tough and reminded me why I moved to Maine with it's beautiful wilderness and of course... Lobster. The back up band was phenomenal. Strolling through the wilderness with the B52's shouldn't be missed. Great performance. Great vocals. Aura in Portland is a great venue to see a band whether you stand on the floor or sit in the balcony. So rock your Lobsters all with the 52's.

The band was great, really fun concert. The venue was mobbed (capacity ++) with general admission guests. There was no organization and too many people were allowed in the building.

I love Hampton for concerts....but I saw the B52s last year and they sounded perfect this year there was so much reverb that it was horrible and hard to make out what they were singing. If they fixed that they would be 5 stars
