This was the 6th time i've seen the Monkees over the last 30 years and this was by far the best show I have seen them do. The new arrangements and fresh instrumentation made this a terrific experience from beginning to end. The venue was perfect and the acoustics were just right - not manfully loud. I loved this show!!

Fantastic show. The Monkees are always great. For two guys performing at 75 years-old, they were very entertaining. They played a lot of the deep tracks that I have waited over thirty years to see live. It was a wonderful venue, and a great show! I would recommend this concert to anyone whom loves the Monkees, 60 s music, or just Good Times .

The seats were generally good but there were people walking in front of us a lot to get to the bathroom or the tour merchandise area. There ended up being two women behind us that had too much alcohol and were kinda hitting me in the back from their dancing, even though that is not something that would happen to everyone. There needed to be more than one area for tour merchandise, the line was very long to wait in. Overall, we had a good time listening to the music and watching the tv episodes running behind the band on stage.

It got so loud toward the end that I covered my ears - think they should have dispersed their well known songs among those that were less known - you could see the crown reaction to the known songs (they were on their feet - clapping, swaying, singing. But most of the time there were just siting there.

The show started out enjoyable, but it was too long. I would have preferred that they play straight thru without an intermission. They do not have that many songs for the length of the show. After a while the video screens showing clips of their TV show also got annoying because they kept repeating.

I'm a "hard core" Monkee fan and went to their concerts over the last 30 years. However; this event was not as good as the past. Where did they get these songs from and why didn't they sing more of their songs? The intermission was "lame", but did love the big screen pics of the past. They really didn't sing most of their oldies that made them an icon until after the intermission. Davey didn't sing "Girl"!! :( Mickey screamed during most of his songs! I would of liked them to talk about their families or what's going on in their lives.

Not quite knowing what to expect for the Monkees first U.S. show in ten years, I sat down with my wife at the Chastain Park Amphitheater in Atlanta Friday, ready for the smooth pop sounds of the "Pre-Fab Four". It was clear from the beginning that Micky, Davy and Peter were making no effort to connect with the audience, possibly with the assumption that the crowd was so familiar with the tunes that they needed no introductions or between song banter. So there was none. The drums were way too loud in the mix, which was mostly mid-range, and Micky's vocals confounded the sound-man. When Micky sang some tunes he was almost inaudible, causing the technician to give him a boost, which in turn made him too loud on other songs. What the group lacked in vocal quality they made up for in sheer volume. My absolute favorite tune, "The Porpoise Song", was massacred by a cheezy arrangement and ridiculously mixed sound. The show was a disappointment over-all, with the bright spot being Peter Tork's fantastic guitar and french horn.

I throughly enjoyed the Monkees show on Friday, 6/3/11, at Chastain. They played a wide variety of songs. I loved that they represented Papa Nez and gave props to him during the show. Michael Nesmith songs are among my favorite of their catalog. My only complaint was that the sound wasn't quite right for some of the songs Micky sang while playing the drums. But they put on a high energy show and did not disappoint. I could have stayed for two more hours of show!

I've been to over 80 concerts in my life. I had to cover my ears because this was the loudest ever. Mickey Dolenz has a very strong voice but doesn't know how to work a mic. Mickey - don't eat the mic when you sing loudly!! Way too many unfamiliar songs. I think they did every song played in every TV show. I would have been much happier with an hour show split with another act. Regarding graphics: there was a huge screen behind the singers that showed nothing but old clips. Two really small screen on the sides of the stage showed the live concert feeds. Put the old footage on the smaller screens and show the live feed on the big screen so we can see the performers for God's sake.

Good show even though voices are not what they used to be. Talented backup band that carried the boys through the vocals. Peter dressed similar to what we would expect from a Monkee but Davey & Mickey need to trend back their outfits so we can see them as we we did so many years ago. Loved the videos of the good old days throughout the show and kudos to them for playing all the songs we wanted to hear. Pretty decent comaraderie among the 3 Monkees pretty good but they could use some fresher comedic moments. (For example, I don't think "Sears & Robuck" is a relevant punchline in 2011.)

I love The Monkees but was disappointed in anything and everything that was not what made them The Monkees. When did they turn into a country/pop group? I ll just need to remember them as they were. Not what they evolved into. When they sang the songs that made them who we all love, it was great. If you can sit through a set of their other music, then they are worth seeing. If you are only looking for, hoping for, and wanting to only reminisce with the oldies, then I d skip the concert as it just didn t have enough of the oldies for me. And while the audience was going wild at the end as they sang the music that made them loved by a generation, they gave no encore.

50 years later, the Monkees are still going strong despite the passing of Davy Jones nearly 5 years ago. A Monkees concert is always nostalgic, but with the Good Times album release earlier this year, they managed to be modern all at the same time. They covered all the classics that one would expect, but also dusted off a few deep cuts, paid tribute to Davy and Mike (who sat out most of the tour due to other commitments) and worked in a few songs from the new album. They've got an excellent backing band, and with their long careers in show business, they know how make an audience have fun -- or, should I say, Good Times! Don't know if I'll ever have another chance to see them perform together as the Monkees. But when Davy died, I thought I had seen the last of the Monkees. Incredibly, this is the 4th time I've seen them play since then. Hoping for more opportunities in the future, but if this is it, what a way to go out.

Best performance in decades! More than best performance in years - decades! Being home at the Panthages Theatre made it that much more special. This was my first experience having Michael Nesmith performing - wow! His voice is potent. It made me realize how much I lean towards the songs he sings over the others. Not playing favorites, but future Monkees live performances will never be the same. Growing up watching the TV series, then listening to the LPs & cassettes, and now playing the songs digitally gave the the inspiration to daydream imagination, and the gift to have my children enjoy the music and zaniness together with me. My 16 year old son joined me on the 16th and made this show truly special. He enjoyed it more than any modern-day teenager has. Thank you, Monkees.

After fifty years, despite the death of Davy Jones, and the absence of Mike Nesmith from this tour, The Monkees are still going strong. Mickey Dolenz and Peter Tork, along with their backing band, put together and unforgettable show and celebration of 50 years of Monkee-mania. Mickey's voice is as powerful as it was when The Monkees first hit TV airwaves in 1966. Peter's voice hasn't aged quite as gracefully, but he still sounds great and is an outstanding musician and entertainer. They're still going strong on an extended tour. If they come to your town, don't miss this show. They manage to be vintage and modern, all at the same time. They honor Davy by playing his vocals while the band plays live on a couple songs and they also gave an appropriate shout out to Mike by playing a couple of his songs.

Wonderful weather. Great vibe along the boulevard. People were happy to be there. Everyone, including the staff was nice. Micky was awesome. He can still belt 'em out at 71 and entertain as well. Peter is still his sweet quirky self at 74! Still my fave Monkee. It was a nice night of a dinner at the Purple Urchin and then a short walk to the Casino Ballroom for a great show. Afterward, we had yummy candy from Sanborn's and then a stroll along the beach under an almost full moon. A complete date night package. We would definitely do it again!

I had a great time at the Monkees' 50th Anniversary concert tour! I took my 84 year old mom and she was singing along to some of our favorite tunes. I actually had forgotten about a few of the songs and was pleasantly surprised when they played them. The band was fantastic and Peter & Mickey were funny and lovable and reminded me why we loved the Monkees way back when. Loved the projections! Relived many of the old days through those projections! Great concert! Missed Davy! Wondered why Micheal wasn't with them but he wasn't missed in the performance! Loved it!!!

Though it's only 2 of the original 4, Peter and Micky still know how to put on a dynamic show. Micky is as energetic as ever and his voice is clear and strong. Peter's subtle dry humor is great and it was fun to see him play his banjo. They had a great selection of all the old classics, later stuff, a couple of individual project songs each, and even songs from their new album "Good Times" that just came out last month. I'm thrilled for them and us (their fans!) that they have aged so well and are still in the thick of their creative music making. Also, they had old Monkees videos playing above them the entire time, which provided joyful nostalgia even for people who are seeing it for the first time (like me).

I thoroughly enjoyed the Monkees 50th anniversary concert. I've seen them many times over the last 30 years and they never disappoint. My boyfriend saw them for the first time and couldn't believe how Micky's voice has held up over time. He's still got that beautiful voice you hear on the old albums. He said it sounded so "fresh". He was amazed at the energy they both had and their various talents on musical instruments. Great show! I only wish Mike Nesmith would have wanted to tour with them this year.

Last night, my family and I took in their only New York appearance at the city's venerable Town Hall, a place I had not been at for probably nearly two decades, since seeing Liza Minnelli there with my wife years and years ago. Anyway, the place is small and cozy, the acoustics aren't great but they are adequate, and is my custom (sorry, my pocketbook's custom), we sat in virtually the last seat in the last row. So we got a bird's eye view of the proceedings, from all the way up. The place was air conditioned, but it was warm up there. If my wife says she is warm, it is warm. She is always cold, but has a warm heart. If she is warm, yes, it is warm. Anyway, the concert went on as scheduled at a little after 8 p.m., and while it was not a sell out, I would say that probably more than 90 percent of the seats were filled, mainly filled with people in my age bracket, but also lots of kids, too. The Monkees--Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz--did all the hits, and some new songs too. We have seen them many, many times over the years, and they do put on a good show. There was one surprise, one that I knew from social media, that was going to happen there, and although a lot of people were surprised, I knew about it, so I wasn't. Mike Nesmith, the venerable missing Monkee, made an appearance at the concert, but did it via Skype. He was on the big screen, a computer image projected to us all, and he played "Papa Gene's Blues," sort of with the band that was there, sort of not. The experiment was an interesting one, but playing music on Skype still leaves a "tinny" type of sound, so while the idea and execution was high tech, the result was sort of what you used to get when you snuck in a mini tape recorder into a concert, and recorded the sound. The idea got an A+, the result got maybe a C+. Technology is not yet there to make this a viable option, but it was nice to see him, and he got some of the show's biggest cheers ... Along with Davy Jones, of course. You cannot see the Monkees live, listen to their records, or even think about them in the proper context without thinking of Jones. I mean, he really WAS the Monkees. So whenever his image was cast on the screen, or his name was brought up, the crowd cheered. You almost couldn't help yourself. Having seen so many Monkees shows for the past 30-plus years, the shows kind of run into each other for me. They are enjoyable, fun, and a great two hour step back into the past. But at least this time around, the Monkees are in the present tense, with their new album doing really well saleswise, getting incredibly positive reviews, and making them current again. They played the new and the old, and those songs are simply exquisite two and three minute masterpieces of pop music. They really are, and they are carried off with a lot of aplomb by Micky and Peter and a stellar backing band. And the two principles are in their 70s, which just goes to show you that the music only stops if you want it to stop. And that is probably the best compliment I can give the Monkees right now.

The Monkees were phenomenal. Although Mike Nesmith could not attend, they had a big screen in the background depicting the TV show with all four Monkees. I could not believe the quality of Mickey Dolenz' voice. It sounds exactly the same as when he was younger. I wish they would've played more from their new album, Good Times, but they did play 'She Makes Me Laugh.'

I have enjoyed The Monkees for many years and have seen them many many times. This year they are celebrating 50 years together and they have not missed a beat. This tour coincides with the release of their new album, Good Times, their first new material in 20 years. (Good Times is amazing by the way, and highly recommended) This show is fun, upbeat, sentimental, and everything a Monkees concert should be! All the classic hits, a few obscure but recognizable songs, and then even some news songs mixed in. Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork perform at their best! Mike Nesmith is missed, but most second generation fans, as myself, am used to him not being there. (He is featured on the new album though). The best part is that the fellas made sure and made the late, Davy Jones, a part of the show! He is shown constantly on the back screen, his voiced is used on a few songs, including the heart wrenching Shades of Grey and the favorite Daydream Believer that we get to "sing along with Davy" to.ending with not a dry eye in the house! All in all a nearly two hour A+ night that will not disappoint.

The Monkees (Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork) gave a great show at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury, playing the hits, 'Last Train To Clarksville', 'Pleasant Valley Sunday', 'I'm A Believer' and more. Tributes were done for Michael Nesmith and the late Davy Jones when the Monkees invited the fans to sing along to Daydream Believer. During the acoustic set the Monkees premiered a live version of Midnight Train with Micky's sister Coco joining on harmonies. It was a fun evening of music which I recommend to Monkees fans and fans of great Pop music!

The show was not as good as I had hoped. Some of the old stand-byes were lively and entertaining, but that was the highlight of the evening. Way too many videos and leaving the stage every few songs made for a long night. It would have been better to have sung less songs and kept up the momentum than to sing a few and play a video. We can watch videos at home. I like more audience interaction when I pay that much money to see an artist(s). That is just my opinion.

I've seen the Monkees four times now, both with and without Nez, but this time was by far the best show. I think their time back together touring has knitted them together in a tighter blend both musically and vocally. It was overall just a more cohesive collaboration Mike's smooth velvety vocal, Mickey's dynamic showmanship, and Peter's instrumental versatility all made for a really great show. They played all the old fan favs, but heavy on the Nesmith tunes, which the audience obviously approved of. Mike actually seemed to be more at ease and enjoying himself these days. The middle set featured Mickey on the drums, Peter alternating between guitar, banjo, and keyboard, and Mike's tasteful signature guitar riffs. The additional musicians filled in a lot, but the core trio carried much of the music, proving once and for all that they are talented musicians in spite of the old naysayers. They've never sounded better! My one complaint: too much video! The screen behind them never stopped running old video footage from the tv show, Head, etc... It became distracting. It was fun to see the old footage of the guys when they were young, but I wanted to concentrate on the musical show on stage. At times, the trio was not even spotlighted enough to see their faces. The stage was kept darker so that the video montage behind them was prominent. That was a mistake in my opinion. The guys themselves should have been featured over the video.

No disrespect to the deceased Davy Jones at all, the current tour with Mike Nesmith is everything a band concert and tour should be from other bands. A long setlist, *three* wonderful singers all playing and singing live as well as a diehard, staunch audience breathing in every second of it all in glee and awe. We have seen a ton of concerts over the years, but the Monkees in Indiana in easily in our Top 10 of all time.

The monkees should put all critics to rest. They played, sang, and put on an amazing show. It was a mix of hits, fan favs, and deep cuts. Can't wait to see them again.

The Monkees entertained the crowd with favorites as well as those we haven't heard in a long time. With Mike on tour this year, we were able to hear all of his tunes. Their humor and musicality gave us a night to remember.

Seeing the Monkees is so much fun. Their charisma and music are unforgettable and highly entertaining. Their singing and playing are so good, its easy to see why they can still sell out venues everywhere they play. Go see them. You will be guaranteed to have a great night out of memorable songs as only the Monkees can deliver.

If you have the opportunity, SEIZE it! Micky, Peter, and Mike deliver a two-hour trip down memory lane... complete with a backdrop of clips from the show, some commercials, and their one and only movie- HEAD. There are many "Mike" songs that seasoned concert-goers have not heard in years, since Mike stepped in to give back to Monkees fans two years ago, after the unfortunate loss of David Jones. The guys did not forget Davy. One of the breaks included a clip of one of Davy's performances (I'm not going to tell- go see it!), and we all joined in for the traditional singalong of "Daydream Believer"- which was always a staple near the end of the show. The guys did it justice- go and see for yourself!
Simple concert, not too much fuss. Great selection of memorable songs. Multi media salute to Davy's life was very nice. Great to see all three on stage. Encore was awesome!
I have been a Monkees fan since I discovered them in re-runs back in the 80's. I've been lucky enough to see them in concert quite a few times. This was the first time I was able to see Mike Nesmith in concert. It was a different dynamic with this trio (Mike, Micky and Peter) than it was when Davy was with the group. Mike sang a good number of his songs, Micky sang although not as much as when it was he and Davy were the main singers. Peter even sang a few of the songs he did from the show so it was a different show than in the past. They had video screens that showed the Monkees screen tests, out takes and scenes from the show. A good portion of the show was dedicated to songs from their movie "Head". I believe the only song they performed that Davy had sung lead on was "Daydream Believer". He was missed but not forgotten because of the video. I really enjoyed seeing them again and would go again in a heartbeat!
I started watching The Monkees when I was about 12. I remember my 13th birthday was filled with mostly Monkee albums as presents. Everyone used to make fun of me because I wasn't even born when they were originally popular. Thanks to MTV, I got to be a part of the best thing ever: A MONKEE FAN. I was lucky enough to see them when I was 13 in Gainesville, Florida for their 20th Anniversary tour. My mom was really happy for md because she saw them also in concert in Jacksonville, Florida in 1967. We got to see them a 2nd time in 2001 when they came to the Florida Theater in Jacksonville. My 3rd time was just this past July, and it was the best night of my life. I couldn't get anyone to go with me, but wasn't alone. I had all the other Monkee fans to hang out with. I was about 10 rows form the stage. Being that close gave me the chance to see my favorite Monkee, Peter, up close, and it was AWESOME. While it was quiet for just second, I yelled, "I love you, Peter," and he heard me and turned around and pointed my way. I felt like I was a teenager again. My friends now make fun of me for liking a group whose members are 68-71 years old. You know what I tell them. They can still rock their asses off, and they still make my heart beat fast. I loved when they brought the young girl from the audience and had her help sing Daydream Believer. Micky said that she wasn't even born yet when this song was popular and her mother probably wasn't born either. She knew all the words though. I really hope that I am able to see them again in concert. But if I don't, the memories and pics I have will last a lifetime. Thank you, Peter, Micky, & Mike for the best night of my life. I love all of you. Your music will keep the memories alive for me for the rest of my life. Monkees Fan Forever
This was the 2nd time I've seen The Monkees in just over 8 months. This past November, i went to Cleveland to see them perform since that was the closest they came to my area. When it was announced they were going to be about 3 hours from me this summer, I knew I had to be there. This 2nd time around, things were different. It wasn't as emotional as the fall tour had been in regards to Davy. The show was amazing on a different level than the last time. I had been lucky enough to get front row seats (in the permanent section of seats, not the folding chairs added to the front) and had so much fun! I sang along to every word of every song! I'm only 33 years old, discovered The Monkees in '84 during reruns my grandmother had me watch & I took my mother's records to listen to them whenever I wanted. The vibe between the guys on stage was so positive. They really looked like they were having a great time together. I don't know if we'll ever see another Monkees tour, but if this is it for them, they certainly went out with a bang!
Great show! Good selection of songs. Love the visuals behind the band. Great supporting band. Always a fun time with The Monkees. Love the Daydream Believer tribute to Davy. Very comfortable theater. Parking a breeze! Good time, great night. Looking forward to a return by The Monkees to the same theater if possible.
Seeing the Monkees was an unforgettable experience. It was one of my first "real" concerts. I was so saddened by Davys death but seeing the others in concert was great. It was a wonderful moment when the crowd sang Daydream Believer. <3
I have seen the Monkees before but never with Nez. This was a dream come true. Yes, there is a bittersweet aspect to this what with the passing of Davy Jones, but being able, for the first time, to hear Nez's many great contributions to the band totally made up for it.
I took my daughter to the show. We had good 2nd row center seats. We enjoyed the video they had in the background of the Monkees from their earlier days with Davy Jones included. The 3 remaining Monkees Mike Nesmith, Peter Tork & Mickey Dolenz but Davy was definately missed. They made no mention of him or his passing. I missed "I Wanna Be Free" & "Daydream Believer" with Davy singing them. They did do "Daydream Believer" and brought 2 girls on stage and let the sufience sing it which just didn't work. Overall we did enjoy the show.

This concert was something I've been waiting for 40 years to see and it was beyond my expectations! The guys sounded great, were so energized, and goofing around with each other like the cameras never stopped rolling. Seeing them play onstage while their 20-something selves played the same song on the video screen behind them was surreal. They handled Davy's absence with sensitivity and a deeply moving song that we were all a part of. A truly truly unforgettable night!

I saw The Monkees in 2011 which was Davy, Mickey and Pete (no Mike). Of course this time Davy was only there in spirit and his gorgeous face on the big screen. I was hesitant to attend since Davy would not be there. I have to say I was glad I went. The show was different than the 2011 show. It was better musically- bigger band, different songs, and a better venue. The "tribute" to Davy was "Daydream Believer" where only the audience sang because they said that "We cannot do this song, only you can now do this song". It was bitter sweet. In thinking about The Monkees from when I was a teenybopper, compared to the "Boy Bands" today (One Direction, Beiber) there is simply no comparison. The Monkees were talented in so many ways that today's Pop Stars don't hold a candle too.

Guess I expected too much but the show was really dissapointing. I didn't pay to see video clips of an old TV show. They played two songs that were good and I got to see them in person and take a couple of good pictures. I like the Theater but will purchase cheaper seats next time.

I had the most amazing time! I have been a fan of the Monkees since I was in 5th grade but I had never had the opportunity to see them live. This was my first chance. I knew it would be good because it was The Monkees. It was better than good. It was the best concert I have ever been to. The show went for a little over 2 hours with no stops. This is unlike so many performers nowadays. At their ages, I was not expecting such an energetic, physical performance. Although during their 'heyday' they were never taken seriously as musicians and entertainers, it was obvious that all of those accusations were ridiculous. They are TRUE entertainers!

It was great to see the legendary MONKEES. And it was great to have MIKE join them from the west coast. As I expected, MIKE sang a bit more melodic since he was with the rest of the band. MIKE likes to stray from the melody for unknown reasons. Whether it is on purpose or not, it does not add to the songs. The best vocal performance of the night was by MICKEY on As We Go Along. If he or the rest of the band sang all the songs the way MICKEY sang this one, it would really knock people out of their seats. The one thing they could change would be not to let some person off the street sing Daydream Believer. The song deserves so much more. Anyway, be sure to see them if you can. It makes for a magical night of entertainment.

Even after all these years, the Monkees still know how to rock a place. Shame of it is, the people at this show didn't seem to want to be "rocked" (except, of course, until the last 10 minutes when all the big "hits" were played). The guys played about 40 songs over the course of about 2 hours, and they sounded TERRIFIC. Davy did his famous "Davy dance" more than once, and it was adorable! Micky still sounds amazing. Was glad to see Peter so energetic after beating his illness. When it was over, I DEFINITELY didn't want it to be over. The Mountain Winery is a BEAUTIFUL place to see a show, even if the wine is overpriced.

It's hard to believe that these guys are in their 60's, grandfathers, and still rocking the house! Davy Jones hasn't lost his ability to entertain with his singing and dancing. Micky Dolenz is a comedic as he was when they had their TV show and Peter Tork was far better than I ever remembered him. Very versatile with instruments (even the French Horn). I missed Mike Nesmith being there, but even though he wasn't, it wasn't a big deal. They performed NON-STOP!!! No intermissions!!! Totally worth every penny!!! The venue was gorgeous too. Weather was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better evening! Wish they would come back again....REAL SOON!!!

This was such a great show. Not only did they play most of their familiar songs, but they also played a lot of songs I've never heard them play before. I was thrilled to hear "Someday man" and "As We Go Along". Also loved hearing all the songs from "Head". They sounded fantastic, and their band was tight! Peter, Micky and Davy were funny as usual. Loved all the jokes, especially the ongoing, "Who writes this stuff?!" We did the meet & greet afterwards, which was pretty well organized. Glad it wasn't just a cluster of people surrounding them. We were able to get our picture with all 3 Monkees. We had so much fun, it was a truly memorable night!

I remember watching the Monkees on TV as a kid. My wife, however, was a fanatic. She and her sister formed a Monkees Fan Club when they were young. So, it was a no-brainer to buy her tickets for this show. I surprised her with the tickets on her birthday in March and we went the day after my birthday. My wife loved Davy and he didn't disappoint, but all three gave a good show. The amazing thing was the video clips on the screens. They brought back memories of the TV show that we didn't even know remained in our heads. That was wild. The show started a little slow and there were some obscure songs, but things really picked up and the Monkees finished strong with many of their hits. I think everyone left with a smiling face. We did.

Truthfully I almost blew off the event because it seemed like such a hassle to drive all the way to Merrillville, but I'm so glad I went. I forgot how much I loved them when I was a kid. Now remember children, this was before VCR's and DVR's and if you wanted to see this show when it was originally aired, you actually had to sit in front of your TV at the appointed time. In "ninteen-sixty-phblehlgehbh" as Mickey Dolenz said several times during the concert, I was about 14-15 years old and the perfect demographic for the network, teen magazines and the cutting edge television show about the pre-fab four. My room was lined with Monkees posters mostly of the absent-from-the-tour stocking-capped Mike Nesmith. Flash forward to Friday night in Merrillville and we were blessed with a giant screen of visuals from the TV show featuring the screaming fans, the fashions, and the Monkees in their beautiful flawless youth throughout the entire show. And there they were performing live in front of the screen, our beloved Monkees minus Mike in all their well-aged glory. Peter looked healthy and svelte with his contemporary styled hair and goatee (I think his shirt was a leftover from the TV show); Mickey looked like Mickey cute as ever but with a fedora for reasons that will go unspeculated here; and Davy with a full head of beautifully coiffed hair and that same darling face. The few pounds added to Mickey and Davy's middle age physique didn't bother us, because we're right there with them. They saved their most popular songs toward the end and for the encores. The songs they sang at the beginning of the concert were less familiar, but if you were a real fan, they were recognizable and enjoyable. They played to the audience and I'm sure they realized how much we loved them. At the end, they did their vaudeville style exit where each one wanted their own time on the stage and the other two had to yank the limelight seeker off the stage, but if they didn't do that, we would have been disappointed. I never got to see the Monkees in person before, even when I was such a fan as a kid, but I'm willing to bet I'll be there the next time they're in the area.

THE MONKEES HAVE STILL GOT IT. I honestly think they are better than they were back in the day. They have a lot of stage presence and experience and it shows. I had such a great time and anyone who even slightly likes the Monkees would love it. There were so many songs- totally got my moneys worth. Davy and Mickey have still got the pipes, and Peter is a fabulous musician. The back-up band was AWESOME. SUCH TALENT. I have been gushing about this event for days. They are still adorable as can be and hearing their voices just transported me to growing up on their music and re-runs of their shows. Though I have always been a huge fan, I think any young person could have enjoyed this and left with total respect and admiration for these guys. LEGENDARY. GO SEE IT.

I hope I can sing and dance like Davy, Micky and Peter when I am 60+ years old. I was truly in awe. I am a big fan so for me and my daughter it was an amazing night. I knew all of the songs and my daughter knew most. The rain chased us inside the main building for over an hour but the show did eventually go on. We were so excited that the Monkees chose to keep on playing that night. Friday night's concert will be one to remember for the storm. We were lucky enough to get meet and greet tickets. The meet and greet was awesome and will be the highlight of our summer. My 9 year old daughter said it was the best day of her life on the way home. I think the tv show and tunes are timeless. Good clean fun.
