By the time an act is booked for the Hollywood Bowl, it should be A++++. Slept through the first two: Soulive and Lisa Fischer. They had no energy, small sound. Phoned it in. However Jamie Cullum made up for his openers. Lots of energy, inventiveness, big sound. Would have liked to hear some hits, but that's the artist's choice. And, at least it is the Hollywood Bowl. Impossible to have a bad night at the Bowl!

I admit I'm a bit biased - I have seen Jamie live many, many times (I try not to miss him when he comes to the states so I've even traveled to SF & NY to see him). This time he was promoting Interlude. He had a full horn section and an additional piano player (!) to round out the sound and allow him to lead the band. It was one of the best shows by him I've ever seen. I brought a friend who was unfamiliar with his music but enjoys music. I thought it was a great test. She left convinced how great a performer Jamie Cullum is (as I had been telling her for years).

For Jamie Cullum's part of the show, it was quite enjoyable. He had a 17 piece band but unfortunately they sat out on quite a few numbers. I would've really liked to have seen them use the band more. Songs he's recorded with a big band like "Devil May Care" he didn't perform.

What a show! Jamie is the perfect entertainer, and together with his amazingly talented band they really rocked the house! The audience was out of their minds. Excellent atmosphere. This brilliant music, mostly songs from the new Album The Pursuit, made my night! The boys are worth every penny, so GO AND SEE THEM.

Great show as always for Jamie. Only problem is it was way too expensive. I love Jamie but $75 is just too much and I won't be spending that much to see him again.

Very entertaining show. Played mostly from the new album, which is good, although the first song he played, Don't Stop The Music, is pretty awful. Mixed in some goodies from albums past, and anyone who's a fan can guess what two songs he played for his encore. He's quite goofy with a very good sense of humor. Overall, I would say the show exceeded my expectations and will see him again.

What a great concert that was: the opening with Lisa Fischer was great. Very competent performance, great version of "Gimme Shelter". Second opener Soulive was OK but not exactly mass compatible - best when additional sax player was added. But then - Jamie Cullum! Perfect energetic set opener that got everybody going. The whole set was first class, especially When I Get Famous - with nice autobiographical references. What a great band with eager local big band. Everybody had fun. And Jamie is unique in all styles - ballads, big band, swing, pop, and rock! Fantastic! A real blast!!

was excited to see all three acts that night, and for the most part was not disappointed. Lisa Fisher opened, and while her lovely, ethereal voice was beautiful, it was nearly lost in the expanse of the Hollywood bowl. it was difficult to hear her at several points in her set. i think she's a performer who would be better served in a smaller, more intimate space. soulive was fabulous! they cooked up a groove with a sound much bigger than the trio appeared, thanks to an added bass line by the talented organist. i'd love to see them in a club setting, because it was impossible to sit still... they make you want to dance! and Jaime Cullum is simply born to perform. he may be small in stature, but his athleticism -- climbing to balance atop the piano, balancing on the edges of the front row boxes -- and energy combine to make his one of the most entertaining live shows i've seen. i've always been a fan of his voice, but i will now make an effort to see him live any chance i get!

This was my third time seeing Jamie Cullum in concert. He was amazing. He has such an amazing stage presence. The only drawback was that his set felt short due to the long sets of his opening acts. I would have preferred to have him play for 30 minutes longer and cut the opening acts sets in half.

Jamie cullum was a fantastic performer and the Hollywood bowl itself is the reason we went. This venue is so accommodating! Spacious with tons of picnic areas, we were able to picnic right on our bench seats because it wasn't crowded. That was a huge plus for us since we've been traveling a lot and are really tired of crowds. I'm sure it has a different feel on a sold out night. I love how you can bring your food and wine and enjoy the whole time. Others venues who don't allow food or drink and then don't sell much (yes I'm talking about you Red Rocks are a far less pleasant experience. Great vibe for the whole night.

Loved Jamie Cullum's show. . . BUT didn't love having paid over $100 for my ticket and then being dragged through not one, BUT two warm-up acts. Jamie arrived onstage at 9:30 p.m. The concert started at 8 p.m. I would have preferred sitting in silence and enjoying the evening air until the main act.

First, I was pleasantly surprised to see the box seats were extended. I paid $100/tkt and got Box seats. Fabulous! Lisa Fischer opened - a perfect choice. She was lovely and the whole band was stellar. Think classic rock songs of the 70s rearranged to a more downtempo beat. I want to learn to dance like her too! Next SoulLive... Loved their music, and then.... Mr. Jamie Cullum. So much personality, nonstop amazing music, always engaging the audience but in an authentic way. He was gracious, funny and pure talent. Tops in the Jazz world for me. The kicker... Temperature was perfect (no jacket required), took the shuttle ( no parking hassles), amazing music and performances!... A perfect night!

Energy to the max! There is a joyousness that radiates from Cullum when he is performing. He give his all to every song and his orchestra on Monday night was with him all the way. This is the third time I've seen Jamie Cullum live and each time has been wonderful. Mix of standards and his old material. Love both. Enjoyed songs from the new album including "Sack of Woe"

My husband and I have been listening to Jamie Cullum's music for a decade now. We saw him at Chastain Park in 2005 (?) and had an amazing time! We were once again delighted by the experience he gives in live performance. He can take any song, wether it's his own original work or a cover from any genre, and make it come alive in the moment. His albums are wonderful, but Jamie is an artist one must experience live to get the full effect of his talent. Don't missh next time he plays in ATL. Apparently he likes playing here a lot, so let's keep him coming back!

A Jamie Cullum Concert is an unforgetable experience! This was my 3rd concert in SF for Jamie Cullum, and definitely my favorite of the three. The venue at the Palace of Fine Arts makes all the difference. This has to be one of the best places in the SF Bay Area for a show. It's easy, not too big, all the seating is great, really comfortable and roomy. No knee scrunching needed to let people by in front of you. The show was outa sight with a local SF brass band along with Jamie's touring combo. One could easily tell how much everyone on stage loved playing the music. It had the fun of watching a jam session and yet was a class act all the way. Jamie Cullum never leaves out the audience from a little guided participation on his catchy song riffs and lyrics. This event was a musician's and aspiring musician's delight!

Jamie Cullum always puts on an incredible show. He truly gives all of himself to every performance I've ever seen him in. The addition of the orchestra from SF was a great touch that really gave the music a full sound. This was the first time I had ever heard a concert at Palace of Fine Arts and it is an incredible venue. Not only visually beautiful, but the sound was great too. Watching Jamie step into the crowd and over the chairs was a memorable moment. I would definitely recommend seeing a concert at PoFA though I think Jamie's shows at the Fillmore are better. It doesn't have to do with him; it's the crowd. I went to his June 13, 2014 show at The Fillmore and the energy was just intense. The whole crowd was into the music, and I didn't get that sense at PoFA. Either way Jamie Cullum is incredible live - Go See Him!

FANTASTIC show, from top to bottom. Jamie has a velvety, crooning jazz voice like a young, vibrant, relevant Sinatra. His own songs are great, and he does wonderful covers, too. This time he brought in a really accomplished 11-piece brass section of local musicians to complement his own bassist & drummer, which made for an even more awesome performance.

Jamie has mad piano skills and is always a joy to see in concert. For this concert tour, Jamie recruits local musicians to fill-in as his backup band. This was a large horn section with saxophones for impressive big band sound; those guys were great. What I love about Jamie is how he works the room and gets the auditorium jumping. The audience was being too polite for the first few songs until Jamie went into the crowd and got people out of their chairs, encouraging them to rush the stage. From that point on, we were all standing, dancing, and jumping. The venue was awesome, concession prices were cheap, every seat was a good seat, and no ushers yelling at you to get out of the aisle or sit down! (the Mountain Winery in Saratoga is uptight and insists people stay in their seats -- although Jamie managed to prevail at that concent and got people to rush the stage there too!).

Flew up from LA because I missed out on Jamie's only LA concert back in January. In a way, this was a blessing because at least I was able to get seat assignments and the Palace of Fine Arts is not too huge of a venue. The opening act, Megan, was an acoustic songwriter act, which felt a bit out of place for a jazz concert. But she was down to earth, funny, and interacted with the audience very well. Jamie played straight through his set and had an encore medley of two more songs. He is so animated and passionate about his music, and having the San Francisco big band back him up was icing on the cake!

I have been a Jamie fan since the beginning.... Was very surprised to hear that he has played Atlanta consistently over the past 10 years and I missed him.... IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN! The only way I can describe what I witness is via three words... TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY! One of the most entertaining evenings I have spent in a long time and one of the best concerts that I have ever seen. The band was tight, full of energy and passion. A truly great group of musicians.... Jamie was without peer, his voice was full of life and his energy level was incredible. I can honestly say that I have never seen an entertainer that bounds about the stage with the energy and presence that he commands! My only disappointment, if you would call it that, was that he did not perform one of my favorite tunes, But For Now. Before I go, the favorite moment limits me to 150 characters...so I am adding this about his Encore...Just sitting there moving through his various recordings, sing them with passion, emotion and true feelings. One of the most memorable evening of live music that I have ever enjoyed. Thank you Jamie and we will cross paths again....

Jamie Cullum sounded better live than he does on his CDs. He and his band are incredibly talented. He had an amazing amount of energy and kept the crowd involved the entire show. Jamie and his incredibly talented band played for 2 hours straight, inspiringly changing up and elaborating upon his catalogue of tunes. He got the audience singing with him, clapping with him, and jumping with him. Jamie's voice, playing, and energy lasted seamlessly the full 2 hours, and his band amazed with their versatility of instruments. The keyboardist became a acoustic guitarist and saxophone player throughout the set, and so on. His love for the city of New Orleans was very evident, and his greetings and words to the audience were not merely standard niceties. Despite his fear of "committing career suicide" by singing Harry Connick Jr.'s version of "Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans", his passion for the city and its music shone through the cover. It was a kid standing on the rainbows of his childhood dreams, singing a song he painstakingly learned as a teenager. And I might not have been the only local in the audience with a tear forming in my eye. At the end of But for Now, he said it again, "New Orleans I love you". We sure did feel the love. I have been waiting for years to see Jamie live, and he surely did not disappoint. If you're a fan of Jamie's - even casually - the decision to go should be a no-brainer. If you like the sounds of old mixed with something new, entertainers who give their all, connect with the audience, and play with professionalism, give Jamie and his band a go!

I've been waiting to see Jamie Cullum and Julian Velard for months, and NO House of Blues is usually a great venue due to the small size. Both Cullum and Velard gave fantastic performances, but sometimes you couldn't tell it because of the audience that continued to try to talk over the music. And the more they drank the worse it got. Anyway, see this show anyway you can.

He didn't play as many songs from the new album as I would have liked, but every song was better than the last... Stuck somewhere between jazz pianist and rocker, Jamie made the crowd laugh, and invited everyone that had a seat in the back down to the 'floor' area! I don't know how happy the floor-seated people were, but the real fans didn't care. We all sang and jumped around together with wreckless abandon, which is exactly how Jamie performed. Phenomenal!!

Such a great show! As a huge jazz fan, I would have liked to hear more old songs, but the new stuff is still great. It was cool that he came out and did a set in the audience, but he is so short that I can't imagine many people actually saw him. The show was recorded... I can't wait to buy the DVD!!! I've been a fan of Jamie Cullum's for about 2 years. I have all of his albums. One by one...they just keep getting better. I saw he was coming to the US and knew I had to catch a show. The closest show was in St. Louis, MO, 8 hours away. I made the trip and it was worth every minute in the car and worth every dime for the gas, hotel, tickets, etc. Jamie has this incredible energy about him. I know everyone says that about a performer...but he has true talent. You can see that he is so awesome because he is doing something he loves. He clearly has a tremendous amount of fun doing his shows. He gets the audience up and dancing, not to mention singing along. I'm excited to admit...it was truly one of the best shows I've ever been too. I'm going to see Michael Buble in June...Jamie has set a standard that will give Michael a run for his money. Jamie brought it, showed it and rocked it. He sings loud, he sings quiet, he plays light, he plays BIG. Jumps, little crazy jam sessions, independent from the band (-which are some seriously amazing musicians!) you just dont know what to expect from him. I cannot wait to get to another show. I might make this an annual road trip to wherever he plays. Oh...I'm from Oklahoma City but I want to thank everyone IN St. Louis for showing Jamie how much we enjoyed the show and that we DO appreciate his talent and music.

Longtime Fan.This is the first time I have seen him Live! He blew me/everyone away with his Awesome Performance. Totally Energizing! His talents and passion for music are just Over the Top! His Fans were awesome too! I can honestly say that He had the perfect audience that were true JC Fans. I Love Him even more after seeing him live. I Loved how he brought his band unexpectedly into the middle of the audience and performed in the middle of his fans and then invited a large group to the stage. Terrific Guy!!

Jamie Cullum is an unbelievably talented entertainer. He knows how to reach out and touch the audience --always leaving them wanting more. His piano talents, his rich voice, his charm and wit, his talented band, and his willingness to be impromptu (trying anything and working without a setlist) made this a fun, fresh, musical experience.

While combining loads of energy, amazing music, frequent improvisation, and giving the audience the feeling that we were watching the band just jam out in a private session...I was blown away by this concert. Jamie and his band are excellent in every sense of the word.

Amazing show! He was just as energetic and entertaining as the first time I saw him- in 2003 at a free show at Paradise Lounge. Especially loved his acoustic versions.

Such a great venue and such a great night. My whole family went. Opening act was amazing and we recognized her from the Grammys. Jamie is tremendous and his new album is fantastic. We missed Seb and Geoff, but the new drummer and upright bass players were terrific and everything seemed new and fun. So glad that Tom and Rory were there. Sophie was in the audience and she is beautiful. We were five rows from front and center and really enjoyed Jamie's passion for music and incredible talent. Jamie is better live than he is on recordings!!

If you have yet to see a Jamie Cullum show I suggest you put it on your to do list. This was my 4th Cullum show and it was just as good as my first show. The only bad thing is how tight The Keswick is. You better like who you are surrounded by because you will be on top of each other!

I've seen Jamie 5 times and he is great. He played for 2.5 hours with no opening act and was amazing. He will will be a singer as long as he wants to be as he's got what it takes like a Tony Bennett! His voice is raspy and unique!!!! great energy and comments on stage!!!

Prior to the show, I had never heard of Jamie Cullum. I'll never make that mistake again. When I posted on Facebook that the show was great, so many of my friends already knew and loved him. Why they kept this from me, I'll never know.

This is the 4th time I have seen Jamie, for a reason. Every concert I have ever seen him perform I would say would be among the best concerts I have ever been to. He has more talent in one little finger than the next 100 performers put together. Amazing voice, brilliant piano, and, even though he is a funny looking little guy, phenomenal performer.

Jamie Cullum's concert in Atlanta with the Atlanta Big Band was great. He is an artist worthy of much greater recognition and really is in a class of his own.

Jamie Cullum is incredibly talented and puts on a wonderful, high energy performance. He engages with the audience in a way that makes you want to invite him over for dinner to meet the fam. Some performers are not artists or showmen, and their performance is underwhelming. But Jamie is a star to be reckoned with and leaves you amazed. This was my second time seeing him live, and I will go to his shows every time he is in Atlanta.

i just saw Jamie Cullum for the fourth time (I think the first time was his first time in Atlanta, at the Variety Playhouse like 10 years ago) and he did not disappoint. He is such an artist, and always has fantastic musicians with him. I recommend seeing him live to everyone that will listen!

I wouldn't again spend close to $250 on two tickets at the Beacon. They allow people to get seated while the show is already under way, even though this means that the entire row has to stand up to let the person pass by. So distracting. Then, Jamie Cullum invited people in the back to come to the front and stand in front of the stage, which meant that the concert was now a standing-only concert. He also said he was cool with people recording his show, which then meant that I could only see the stage (standing ong might add) through the display of the oversized Android phones held up by people in front of me. Why did I spend so much money on good seats to begin with? Never again.

Absolutely superb gig, from the support act Lisa Fischer to the main man Jamie Cullum! He may be small but his talent is immense and the crowd lapped it up as he danced his way among them! Possibly one of the best jazz musicians alive!

Jamie Cullum played his ass off that night at the Beacon. Mixing up the set with both older classic Cullum tunes and some newer compositions that were all well-received. His interaction with the audience has only gotten better.

Jamie Cullum just doesn't come to the US enough! I have been following him for about 10 years or so and he is truly an amazing musician/singer. Jamie gets involved with the audience through his singing and his humor. He comes out into the audience and sings. Towards the end of his concerts he always invites everyone up to the stage front. He slaps hands as he walks along. He comes out for encores as well. And, one of the most important things is that he sings some of his best, older, music that people know and love along with his new releases. This guy rocks.

My wife and I have been trying to see Jamie Cullum for years. We both love his voice and on-stage enthusiasm. He definitely did not disappoint. He sounded amazing, had an awesome band, and had a connection with the crowd throughout the performance. The Pageant was the perfect small venue for this experience.

JAMIE CULLUM does not come around often enough. I think this was my fourth time seeing him. He is such a talented singer / musician and entertainer. He was backed by a great group of guys who played horns and drums and sometimes piano. JAMIE CULLUM totally energizes an audience....if you are feeling kinda bland at the beginning...you will be in a party mood a few minutes into the show. JAMIE is like a little ELF running around the stage...hopping onto the piano...shaking his head....jumping into the audience.. He is totally infectious. You would like to take him home with you!!! One of the best parts of the show was when JAMIE was alone on stage sitting at the piano playing covers of well known current hits and older rock classics. The Wind Cries Mary was a show stopper....with his backup band up in the balcony playing the horns catching Jamie by surprise. GREAT GREAT SHOW!!! JAMIE PLEASE COME BACK SOON!!!

One of the best concerts you will ever go to. Sitting down is not an option and shouldn't be. Jamie and his band play with great energy from start to finish. He played for nearly 2.5 hours and played all the songs peopled wanted to hear plus a great rendition of the Beatles "Blackbird". The place was packed and sold out for the show. Another great moment was him doing his "When I Get famous" song. This has great groove to it and very cool intro that sets the mood for the song. If he is playing near you go catch Jamie and his band, simply one of the best our there.
