Roberta Flack revealed that she is still talented with an eternal voice! She commanded the group of musicians backing her and they were fantastic as well! There was no doubt who was the leader of the band. She sings with feeling and you want to be next to her when she expresses her loving lyrics! This was one of the best concerts I have ever seen and recommend her highly to anyone considering seeing Roberta Flack in person! Her piano work was amazing and accurate. I am glad I had the opportunity to see a legend who is also so contemporary! Do not miss the opportunity to see ROBERTA!

The whole show was awesome as Ms Flack sang songs that we all grew up with and even added in a few newer ones as well. I'm not sure what was going wrong physically with Ms Flack, but when she was brought on stage and taken off stage, she had a gentleman help her and Roberta was holding onto her lower stomach.. I hope that she is ok, She sounded excellent..

Excellent venue, loved the humor, and enjoyed all the old and new hits. She was delightful, on time, and performed in a way that made you just relax and enjoy! Her band was super too and complimented her well. The side lady singer/performer was really too loud, so we had to pull out our ear plugs for her. During that portion only the band and volume was just too loud. The acoustics in the room weren't probably the best, but that just Green Valley's Event Room. I don't like the chairs hooked together as many are too large to fit comfortable in chairs. So I unhooked all that I could in my row and pushed and gave us more hip room. I would definitely go again and highly recommend.

I was so excited to see her in concert. She is my favorite; but what a disappointment.... She opened up with Killing me Softly and went downhill from there... she has so many great songs.. SHe sang Marvin Gaye (which I love) and other artists but I don't see why she would do that.. She skipped sentences on songs ( I know them by heart).. and to top it all she stopped the concert to complain about the people trying to take pictures with their cell phones... Not even AC/DC or Fleetwood Mac did that... Mind you the place was half full... Total disappointment.... I don't know if she is done or it looked to me she was on something (with all due respect). Horrible show...

Exceptional even from the nosebleed section! Her voice is a timeless classic which has not waned with age. I also love the way she highlights the talents of her band members and backup singers. Time seemed to fly by and she left us wanting more. I am looking forward to her album droping.

I love Roberta Flack... before this recent tour, I'd already seen her twice. Unfortunately, she's not what she used to be. At times, she looked like a granny with rigor mortis. Her "moves" were embarrassing. Granted, she is 73 and still has something of a voice, but last night.... she scolded her audience for about 5 minutes over the use of recording devices, more specifically, cell phones. She said it was "bodacious", plain out rude and distracting. She said that she was talking to adults and followed by saying, "Well, I think you're adults". I say, what nerve! Everyone is doing it at every concert. I carry my cell phone with me and although I do not record or take pics, I paid to see a show and NOT to hear that crap. And finally... she began a number after "The First TIme Ever I Saw Your Face", got up and said, what do you think of my band, and walked off the stage. She never returned, didn't say goodnight and of course didn't finish that last song. What a let down.

Roberta never let 's me down! Every time I see her live, she never seems to fail to impress the crowd. I did find one thing upsetting ~~ she stopped in the middle of her concert to tell people to not take photos or video with their camera and/or camera phones. The way she presented the situtation was a tad on the rude side. The median age of the crowd at this concert was well over 40 so I don't see how she could scold 40 yr olds at her concert. Nonetheless, she still sounded amazing & her band was great!

We had been to a Roberta Flack concert years ago (like 25 years ago!) in Connecticut and it was one of the best concerts I had ever been to. I wasn't sure if this one could live up to that one since, well, Roberta is 25 years older, too! But I thought it was spectacular - too short, but spectacular. She still has one of the finest voices out there. The band and back-up singers were awesome, the arrangements were great, the choice of music was just about perfect. She sang two songs from a new album, and they were very good, too. She is a consummate professional and I enjoyed every minute of it. She got to my heart, and made me cry. Yes, Roberta, we will "still love you tomorrow"!

The show started 25 minutes late. We expected Ms. Flack to sing all of her HIT songs but she only sang some of them . The momentum of the show was very slow. It was not an upbeat performance and it was a short show, only an hour an d a half, with no encore.

Concert was musically very good. It was 25 minutes late in starting. Ms Flack also was upset with cameras, etc and I agree it is distracting to musicians and members of audience---however if people pay hard earned money to see these performers they should be able to take a photo or two as memorary of event

the worst concert i have been to. BORING, AND ALL the songs were depressing . people were leaving early. she finally showed up 45 minutes late and then only sang for a little over an hour. she did more talking then singing. i like her singing, but totally lacks any performace from her. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! EVEN THE BAND WAS OUT OF SINC!

Roberta Flack knocked me out last night. When she sang "the first time ever I saw your face" - there wasn't a sound from the audience. This is what we came to hear. Her backup band were great - and her backup singers were terrific. All in all a great show.

I love Roberta and I listen to her music all the time. However, I wanted to just see Roberta at the piano singing ALL the songs I know her for. If I am correct, I think she sang only four of her songs!!!!!! I brought and paid for a friend and just did not walk away with that I Love Roberta Flack feeling. I saw her at the Kravis some years ago and she was the Roberta I wanted to hear.

I knew something was wrong when she started off her set with one of her biggest hits. She performed for less than an hour, she talked most of the time, her show was just mediocre. I guess she is getting old and just do not have that spirit any more. I have always loved her music, and this is the first time I am seeing her live, and it was truly a disappointment, when she walked off the stage people in the audience were looking around at each other asking, is that it?

Let me start this by saying that Roberta Flack has paid her dues and given the world a wonderful gift with her voice and songs. She has an amazing history and many accomplishments. That said, that does not give her an excuse to be an unpleasant diva on stage. The concert was off to a bad start from the get go. She was performing her first song and she kept tugging on her hair to cover her face. After the song was over, she said that she didn't like the camera shooting her from the left side and that they needed to stop. People kind of laughed at first because we thought it was a joke but she said that she was serious and that the camera needed to be changed "now". For the rest of the concert, the camera was a far away shot of her so you couldn't even see her on the big screens. At one point during the show, she kept on staring at someone in the audience and she was sort of mumbling her lyrics as if she was too distracted to sing. When the song was over she pointed at the person and asked who they were. Apparently they were press and she told them to stop taking her picture because it was distracting. Then she called security and they were escorted out of the venue. This totally ruined the mood in the audience. It was awkward to say the least. During the show she, again, starting complaining because there were some women who were cheering during her one of her monologues. She asked what was going on back there and some girl screamed "I love you Roberta" and she didn't even acknowledge it and just went in to her next song. The other issue I had was that she was singing so much lower than her backup singers so it made it difficult to get in to the songs. All in all, she seemed very unhappy to be performing and that feeling rubbed off on the audience.

Roberta only played one of her hits which is what most people are looking for when they go to hear a performer. I got the impression that do to age and infirmity she was unable to do more. The rest of the concert was songs by other artists that I would not have paid to hear. It is time for her to retire.

This was my first time seeing Ms. Flack in concert and it was well worth the wait. She has a great sense of humor and stage presence. The band was terrific. Her singing was great especially at the age of 75 years young. The so-called singers and musicans today need to take some lessons from a great teacher. Great concert...I only wish she could have sung all night long!!!! Set the night to music....

Roberta has always been one of my favorites artists. For me: every since I was 13 - 14 years (which is around maturity) her music has been a pure example of what love is. I loved her performance. She hit on many of her long standing songs. I wish she could have done them all but the 90 minutes of song was outstanding. Her voice is still crystal clear. Unique. Soft. Strong. Engaging. I also admired how she paid homage to other musical genius's within her show as well. Very classy. Lastly, her back-up singers and band was outstanding! Come back Roberta!!

Roberta is moving a little slower but then so am I. You can see the years and disease have damaged her hands BUT her voice is still as wonderful, strong, clear and distinct as ever. I was not disappointed one bit. I would gladly pay to see her again. The music (band) was great especially the guitar player and sax player both from Barbados. The gentleman who was singing back up is GREAT. I had wonderful evening.

I have been a fan of Ms. Flack since the early 70's. Of course, I expected her voice to be weathered by age. However, she was as superb as she was the first time I heard her sing. My first time at the Mahaffey Theatre proved to be a very good experience. Love the theatre, Roberta Flack stll has a great voice, back up singers and musicians were first rate. Disappointments: that she did not sing more of her original hits and she stopped the show to reprimand someone in the audience for disobeying the rule re: pictures and recordings. Had a difficult time getting back into the concert mode after that.

I was very happy with the show. Excellent mix of hits, jazz, rock and roll(guitars were awesome!) and the "No women No Cry" song. Roberta definitely still has the pipes and has attracted great mix of players for her show. I was impressed and best of all it was the same for my wife who loved it. I was disappointed with the people who did not comply with the no video request and thought that it was terrible that the artist had to actually call him out about stopping the video.

We both really like the "original" Roberta Flack however while my girlfriend still liked this concert, my daughter and I were very disappointed. The songs that we had hoped to hear had been re-arranged so much it was hard to remember them from the originals. RF still has an amazing voice, two of us wished she would have just stuck to her original versions. RF also invited too much audience participation and too much story-telling. We just wanted her old classics.

Roberta Flack was wonderful...her voice was as good as ever. The only down side to the concert was an audience member making a video recording--he refused to stop even when she asked. I have been listening to Roberta Flack for over 40 years. I was introduced to her by a friend in New London CT when I was a 21 year old man just entering the Navy. Listening to all the old songs moved me the same as it did the very first time I heard them. They made an old man remember the days of his youth. Her voice was as strong as it was then and as sweet and soft as a rose pedal. GREAT CONCERT.........

Roberta Flak's songs have always been great, but way before reaching 75 y.o., most artists have voices that are a creaky shell of their former sound. But Roberta Flak still sounds fabulous! Added plus: fantastic band - seriously. They added a contemporary sound to her 70's classics. It was a great night!

Not able to even walk on stage. If she was sick why wasn't an explanation given. If she was stoned, shame on her. The dress she had on looked like it was purchased at the salvation army in the 1950's. I love her music and songs. I am listening to her music as I write this. Roberta Flack is an artist I've admired and listened to for over 40 years and she's just like a fine wine. She seems to get better with age. I've seen about five concerts this year and she is in the top two. It flowed very well from one song to the next for almost two hours!!! She was funny, witty, and very engaging with the audience. She has some top shelf musicians especially the lead guitar player. That boy can flat out play!!! Her back up singers compliment her flawlessly with great tone and harmony and the male should cut an album. He's that good!! My wife and I left totally satisfied yet wanting more. We will definitely go see her again. Anytime.

Ms. Flack is one of those "bucket list talents" you just have to see and hear if you lived through the era. Although obviously in pain from unspecified ailments, she is lovingly helped onstage, where she regally reigns at her piano singing her sweet, sweet songs and inviting the audience to sing along. Her performance this night was flawless and exceptional. We literally floated out of the theater.

Roberta Flack was the worst of the line up. She could not be heard and I feel she is too old to perform. The Dell did not mike the baby grand piano corr ectly. This was a disservice to the general public. Many people left the show before her set. We really were not interested in her singing Beatle Songs instead of more songs that she recorded. There was poor judgement on her part.

In my opinion Bloodstone should have been the headliner. They were the highlight of the night. Peabo Bryson did a decent job. New Birth needs to retire from show business. My concern is for Roberta Flack. I have followed this lady since her early performances at O'Henry. Seeing her escorted & helped to be seated at the piano, starting my questioning if there was something wrong. After listening to her attempt to sing 3 songs, I had had enough and got up and walked out on one of my favorite females artists. I pray that everything is well with her. I will keep her in my prayers.

I recently saw Roberta Flack at the Robin hood Dell in Philadelphia. I was disappointed since I had scene her in West Palm about 3-4 years ago and she sounded Great. During this show she sounded off key and appeared to be ill or heavily sedated. I felt bad for her as patrons started to file out during her first song. 3/4 of the crowd had left half way through the show. I was extremely disappointed as I have seen her perform amazingly in the past.

I had not been at the Dell in so long that I had forgotten the ambiance. It was electric. The hostess, Lady B, was engaging and worked hard to keep all interested. The performances from the local talent to the finale were memorable. I liked the build up to Roberta Flack and am glad hers was the final act. Bloodstone and New Birth were phenomenal. They put their all into the show. Peabo Bryson was outstanding in his performance and engaging the audience. His guitar playing was new for me and very good. He set the tone for Ms. Flack. He was so gracious in his hand off to her. I enjoyed Ms. Flack but was pained by how much of her voice is gone. She tried to put forth but the performance was not good. I am grateful that she sang all the old time favorites. She brought back many good memories for me. I would see her again out of respect for her legacy but with a new level of expectation.

I have been in love with Roberta Flack and her music for over 40 years. I so looked forward to a beautiful evening under the stars in a new venue, and of course hearing another favorite in Peabo Bryson. What I got instead were three opening acts.... yes I did write 3 opening acts that took until 9:15 before the main acts began. Peabo rocked the house and was a tremendous talent and performer as I expected he would be. Unfortunately, Roberta Flack was such a disappointment at 10:15 PM that my friend and I who both looked so forward to her concert left shortly after she began. She was tired, sick, someone indicated they thought she was high, but the main point is she could not sing, could not remember the words, and was a major disappointment. Especially since she repeated that she was in New Jersey and was not aware that the crowd was a Philly crowd. Very sad beyond measure. Please let her know she is still loved dearly as a great songstress but should stop performing. The venue itself is a lovely amphitheater but the food service was terrible. Fish sandwiches with no condiments and precooked so they were tough and cold was beyond disgusting. The selections of wine and beer were also lower than low shelf.

I so looked forward to this. I really like New Birth and thought they were great. I had heard of Bloodstone and recognized some songs. Peabo I had heard of and liked his music. BUT, it was Robert that I was waiting for. It's 3 days now and I'm still upset!! I just can't believe how bad (really sad) she was! After reading reviews it seems she's been putting on poor concerts since 2010. She shouldn't be touring!! $76/ticket is a good bit of money to pay.

There were several acts before Roberta and they did a great job, acoustics were perfect. Roberta came on around 10:20pm and she seemed out of it, almost like she was under the influence. The acoustics were suddenly very poor as well. I kept waiting for her performance to improve but it was almost depressing. She called out twice saying hello 'New Jersey' yet we were in Philly. Her voice kept fading in and out like she wasn't sure of the words. They fixed her microphone wire twice and that seemed to help with the overall sound, but she relied heavily on her background singers. I love her music and was so looking forward to seeing her live but I'm not sure she should continue to perform. I realize she's 77 so if she's going to continue to perform they need to adjust her set and allow for more duets and even go on earlier.

Roberta Flack will always hold a place in music unlike any other. That said she does not have the magic anymore for live performances. I wish to just let her past performances stay with me and forget last night. I felt so bad for her as this was not what she was in years gone by. Thank you Roberta and let us keep the good memories alive.

Concert began at 8pm. Roberta came on after 3 other acts, at 10:40pm! IN MY OPINION, She seemed disoriented. Roberta actually believed she was performing in New Jersey rather than Philly. She gave a shout out to "New Jersey"!! Peabo Bryson came out twice to help her get through songs. Roberta's background singers had to save & carry her throughout. She had moments where she would appear more lucid, but at these movements she would go full steam ahead and leave her band in a panic & confusion, as to what her next song she would decided to perform. It was sloppy and sad. So very, very sad. I LOVE ROBERTA FLACK...LOVE HER...but she needs to retire and leave the stage with dignity.

At age 77 she can still deliver a great concert. Sitting at the piano she played hit after hit. This artist is a classical legend. I am 32 and I had to see her because she makes great music with emotion and content. My only con is that the show was in an amphitheater, this did not provide the best acoustics. Please support this last generation of performing artist.

I saw Roberta Flack about 10-12 years ago at the Dell. She was AMAZING! I also saw her this week at the Dell. She is a legend. People need to remember that Ms. Flack is 77 years old and apparently not in very good health at all. None the less- she is music royalty and you good hear moments when her voice sounded as beautiful as ever. Appreciate our legends while they are still here! Peabo Bryson a great as always. I would have liked him to do a few more of hit many hits. Bloodstone sounded stronger than I have ever heard them! They stole the show! I was less impressed with New Birth than I was last time I saw them.

I enjoyed the evening. Ms. Flack was enjoyable but displayed signs of aging. I was actually concerned when she walked out, I noticed that she walked slow. I later looked her up online and realized she is 70+ years old. She is very talented and has surrounded herself with exceptionally talented musicians/singers. Her playlist was mixed with her hits as well as songs from her new CD of Beatles songs. The combination of Ms. Flack, her band and the Nashville Symphony was amazing.

Roberta Flack performed with great energy and was especially effective in new arrangements of old favorites. I enjoyed the opportunity to sing along with the audience to "Killing Me Softly", the "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" as well as songs recreated for her new album. The two backup singers had impressive voices - although I wish there were less time with vocal flourishes and more on the melody. Over all a wonderful experience for the mature fan.

Who knew? Roberta Flack has obviously been very busy behind the scenes! She has remixed many of her old hits to reflect a new Carribean, Jazzy, Bluesy feel - the results - over the top! Plus, a remix of the Beatles hit "Here Comes The Sun" was just stunning! She is an incredible entertainer and her exuberance and joy simply gushes from her stage presence! Her musicians and vocalists are treasures as well! Definitely go see this show!

The show was good, not great! She was an half of an hour late. I hate late, so when the show started I was already in a bad mood! Roberta Flack is such an awsome talent that I would listen to her sing names from the Flagler County telephone directory. It's a good thing that I love Roberta because while the performance did not disappoint , it didn't overwhelm either. I don't like entertainers who always ask the audience to sing. I paid a lot of money to hear Roberta Flack not the audience. Although she didn't sing my favorite "Where is the Love", I had good seats and I still enjoyed the show.

Absolutely ranks with one of the worst concerts my wife and I have ever attended. Band unrehearsed with the artiest. It was like watching a dress rehearsal. Flack showed up 40 minutes late and blamed it on traffic. This is Daytona Beach Florida. Traffic???

Ms. Flack's concert was great. She is over 70 years old, yet the quality of her voice is amazing. When she sang, it was almost as if we were listening to a recording. We thoroughly enjoyed the concert and even though it was a weeknight and we had to work the next day, we are so-o-o-o-o glad that we took the time to go.

Very disappointed with this concert. Although Ms. Flack still has a "voice" (as well as her back up singers), she started over 1/2 hour late (never apologized for being late) and sang a mixed bag of her well known songs and some mediocre arrangements (Here Comes The Sun). Not worth the trip for the money.

I enjoyed the concert, but I did not feel very good about all of the movemennt in the audience during the concert. People were constantly going in and out of the auditorium. The couple sitting next to me moved atleast 3 times during the show. This was very unsettling to all of us on the row, because we had to get up to let them out of the row.. However, we enjoyed the concert, in spite of this. The guitar players were awesome, and the vocalists were very good also. Thanks so much for bringing such a great concert to Central Florida!!

Roberta flack had a perfect band of some of the best musicians I have seen. She has lost none of her skill and has gained a wider interpretation even of her own songs! I'd go back every night if she were still here

The artist's performance fell well-short of the vocals on her recordings. The band and support singers were too loud and tended to drown out her voice. The arrangements were repetitive in their improvisation and often the melody was lost in a disconnected cacophony of meaningless improv.

We saw Roberta November 5th at Cache Creek in California. She was obviously in some aspect of pain (my guess her back as she rarely got up from piano seat and when she did she had to be helped around stage). Maybe she took some pain killers as she seemed to either forget the words to songs or just chose to leave out verses. Much too much asking for audience participation (so she didn't have to sing). The beautiful clarity to her voice was still there but for the 1 hour and 15 minutes she was on stage, 30-40% was spent listening to backup singers or audience. We were very dissapointed.

the concert was wonderful. the only problem was that it was in an amphitheatre and it was raining. ho yeah and did i mention that they started late also. it was a charity event. at 11 someone came out and told roberta flack she had to stop right then because they had to leave the premises so they wouldn't be charged extra. roberta flack was great though

Enjoyable show as Roberta sang for quite a while, interacted with the audience, sang new songs and ended with a total favorite. Dislikes were audience members singing along with Roberta and she then encouraged it. I came to hear Roberta, not some Idol wanna-be singing off key behind me. It is so rude.

She still has it goin' on. Really enjoyed the show. She really relates to the audience and makes you feel comforable and welcomed. Band and back up singers were great too. The female back up did a solo that hit every octive I ever hear (and more) and was VERY precise and didn't pitch once even with the extreme range.

I love Roberta, but I think she has lost her wonderful range. While it was great to see her on stage, it was disappointing to hear her struggle to reach her notes. She also kept shushing the rest of the band, which was embarrassing to watch. Didn't they check the sound prior to the performance? Her male backup singer was good, but was trying too hard. Her female backup singer was way too loud...she seemed to forget she was just supposed to be "back-up." And her solo was just a lot of screeching. It was like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. The rest of the audience seemed to like it, but, in my opinion,it was not "singing."

Since this was my first time seeing Roberta Flack in concert, my excitement level has been so high since finding out she was in concert. I kept thinking of not only hearing her sing her classic songs, but one of her best and latest hits "Set the night to music". So, sitting in BB King, minutes before the show is to begin, it's announced that no cameras, pictures, or video recording of any kind". Normally this pertains to professional grade camera and video cameras, so I didn't think anything of it. So as Roberta is singing one of her classics, I'm told by one of the servers that no pictures or videos can be taken during this show. I've been to well over 20+ concerts at BB King, and this is the first time an artists does not allow even pictures to be taken. I have seen Patti LaBelle & Dionne Warwick at BB Kings, including Roberta Flack surprise appearance at Patti Labelle show, and got great pictures and videos of both. Out of all Roberta's classics, and other songs she chose to include, she left out Set the NIght to music. I'm shaking my head in not only disbelief, but huge disappointment. What kind of nonsense is the her manager thinking? This decision is "killing me softly" by not allowing pictures". My disappointment is really makes me question whether I will want to see Roberta Flack again in concert. I've been to 30+ concerts since moving to NYC in April 2007, and this is the first one I'm not allowed to take any pictures, and of all places that allow all types of cameras, etc, BB Kings. Simply put Roberta, I have mixed feelings about this show. And this was not a cheap ticket at $65 each. I had such exciting expectations for this show, and was planning to have plenty of incredible pictures and videos I could watch. I have nothing, and am writing such a disheartening review, it's absurd. Instead of "tonight I celebrate" a great show, it's worse.
