One of the best shows I have seen in some time. Bob Weir rocked the Ryman. I can't wait until they come back again!

Wow! Bob is in great form and he has assembled a fantastic group that compliments his style and knows the repertoire. The song selection could not have been better. Four Dylan covers in one show is unheard of by me. Iko was rearranged into a more rockin number and it did rock. So did the balcony in this old beautiful theatre, but it stood up to the dancing of a sold out house! Loved the show.

The Concert was very good. Bobby sounded great. I would change 1 thing though, I want Mark Karan playing guitar again instead of Steve Kimock!!!! Mark is the man and he was greatly missed.

Bobby still has it. I brought someone that had never seen a Dead or a jam show before and she was amazed. She loved how the music never stopped. We all were shaking as he played Sugaree.

Bob Weir was totally on top of his game. He made dead heads very happy by performing songs that we hadn't heard in 10-15 years. He was amazing and so was Ratdog. It was non stop dancing, singing, and smiling!! Went to both nights and can't wait for them to come around again.

Whatever bobby is lacking in vocals(and what would you expect, he's about 70yrs and perfos almost every night )is more than made up with the group of seasoned professional musicians he has put together, especially Steve kimock and rob wasserman.

This was likely a warm-up show for Bob Weir & the boys as they were heading to the Gathering Of The Vibes in Bridgeport, CT later in the weekend, but either way, it was a dandy show. Since the passing of Jerry Garcia, Bob has kept the free-wheeling spirit of the Dead alive with an organic approach to jamming as oppsed to Phil Lesh's more clinical approach. Anyway this was a fine show with more Weir and Ratdog tunes than in the past (unlike some recent Ratdog shows which have contained an equal number of Garcia tunes!). Weir was in good voice and focused (again unlike some recent tours). In addition it was a generous show with almost 3 hours of music. Good fun!

This was my first show of this type, and though I like what I've heard of the dead, I didn't know what to expect from a "Jam Band" kind of show. Wished they would have done more songs instead of stretching every song extra 5-10 minutes.

What a great show at a great venue! We've seen 17 Ratdog shows and everytime we go they just keep getting tighter. This band is extremely comfortable with each other and it shows. There are no bad seats at the Casino Ballroom. One large room with a few tables and chairs back near the bars. Although I don't know how you could sit down!

Still miss Jerry, but after the Dead shows this spring, decided to give Rat Dog another a try (Phil and Friends - that's a given) and had an awesome time. The cops at the beach, however, were rent a cops with a chip on their shoulders and made what could have been an excellent night into a pain in the ass night.

Better than average Ratdog show at one of my all time favorite venues, mostly suffering from a weak setlist... The band is on fire and is playing strong and tight. Bobby's vocals seem strained at times. Casey Jones opener was a surprise and the boys rocked it.

The show was awesome!!! The atmosphere inside the Hampton Beach Casino was amazingly fantastic, with the exception of a few out of control drunks. I really wish they had opened the doors sooner so we could have all been inside before the show had started. It would have been nice if Bobby had started the show when we all were inside instead of starting when there was still at least 3,000 people still outside being searched and harrassed by the police and security. There was such a long line to get in and everyone within the casino as far as security could have been a little quicker or more people at the doors helping out to get us in sooner. I felt the Hampton police were a little on the excessive side with their patrolling of the parking lot. Beyond that the concert was unforgettable!!!

Strong second night. First set had some nice nuggets and flowed great with a nice Dark Star interlude, Big Boss Man, Truckin..it was all fun. Great second with Awesome open of Me and My Uncle into Desolation Row. The fun didn't stop there with some Estimated Prophet and great jammin by the RaT into a touch of DS off to Come Together back to Dark and into GDTRFB. Bob chose a great encore with accapella Attics of My Life... The weather, the beach, and Bob and Ratdog....it has to be a great summer!

After 33 years, Bob and co. never cease to amaze me. The quality of the musicianship just keeps getting better with all of the band members, especially Mark making great strides over the years. What a great set list, with Dark Star intertwind all throughout the night with a lot of great upbeat songs too. I need a Miracle, Truckin, Big Boss Man, Big Railroad Blues, Me & My Uncle, Goin down the road, Desolation row, Estimated Prophet, and many more with a great accapella encore of Attics of my life. It seems like Bob just decided to do that last minute and had to communicate to all the band members who then put down their instruments and began singing. Very moving and all left happy. We will keep doing this until it all ends someday. Hopefully not to soon.

Bobby Weir gave the fans their monies worth with over 3 hours of a great mix of Dead tunes and solo stuff. Bobby crooned in fine form on Little Red Rooster and the band was tight all night long. China Cat Sunflower / I Know You Rider were nicely done and the entire crowd came together during Wharf Rat. Touch of Grey was the encore. Goody

Ratdog is back & their sound is better than ever! As usual, the King did mess up a few lyrics but that's kinda expected from Bobby...falling down is not!!! I was so happy to see the band back at Westbury, a quaint lil venue where Ratdog used to play annually every Halloween. Bob's right-hand man hooked us up with couple of Weir's red guitar pics & setlist as well...thx A.J.!!! This band is definitely Testament as to why my newest tattoo is RATDOG Logo...Bobby, Kimock, Chimenti, Jay Lane, Wassermann & Sylvester - THESE GUYS ROCKED!!! Can barely wait for their next show!!!! Too much of everything is just enough...

The concert at Humphrey's was overall a great mix of dead tunes with other types of sounds mixed in. It truly was a flashback of what the old Grateful Dead shows were all about. Great rhythms, interesting solo's, and a lead guitar that touched your soul. Only drawback: a 45 min. break after 1st set. I felt the lead guitar was to loud in most solo's. A memorable evening of solid sounds mixed with a eclectic crowd of people.

As a veteran of MANY Dead/Ratdog/Further/etc shows, I can truly say that this was the weakest of the bunch. The band never achieved any noticeable energy. Bobby barely moved. I heard that he was hungover from a wild Vegas evening, the previous day, but I don't know if that's the case, or not. Either way, poor effort!

Chris Robinson Brotherhood was great- as expected- and very similar to The Black Crowes. They seemed to really be having a good time. Loved their setlist and would go see them anywhere, anytime. Ratdog was great as well. Opened with a free-form jam that led in to a well-played Feel Like a Stranger. On to some Minglewood Blues and then a nice nod of the head to Bobby Womack, may he RIP with a good version of "It's All Over Now." Bobby did his best Jerry with a heartfelt "Mission in the Rain" and then Chris Robinson joined the band for a powerful duo of "Hard to Handle" and "Turn on Your Lovelight". Set 1 End. The 2nd set started with a fun When I Paint My Masterpiece" and a solid "Friend of the Devil." The jam then commenced: "Playing in the Band" into "Terrapin Station" into "Dear Prudence" closing out the set with "Going Down the Road Feeling Bad." Quick "Touch of Grey" encore and we were off. Great venue, good vibes, beautiful night and an overall great experience. Thank you Greek Theatre, Chris Robinson Brotherhood and Bob Weir and Ratdog!

I have always enjoyed shows at the Greek Theatre as it is one of the best venues in the US. However, the folks at the Greek seemed to have added another seat in each row of the terrace next to the edge of the overhang. This new seat number "1" (1 for North Terrace, 2 for South Terrace) is crammed right up next to the bars and is very uncomfortable for any human over four feet tall. This has turned what was once a first class seat into something worse than coach! I had seat 1 in row DD for this show and seat 1 in row P for another recent show with the same result - I had to move. I understand the desire to maximize revenue but when the back rows in section C are covered... Please go back to the older configuration!!

Ho hum set list. They played well. But an entire show of Weir singing can be a bit much. When Chris Robinson joined him, it was sad to see Weir trying to match him musically and energetically. He wanted to. He just couldn't do it. Personally, I would rather have heard more songs than long periods of pointless jamming. The sound system sounded clear and loud. Don't get me wrong ... Weir was as good as he could be and the band played well together. But this wasn't as good as Furthur.

Drove north from Bloomington IN to Grand Rapids MI to experience Bob Weir & Ratdog June 10, 2014. I thought this show would be an unusual location that is not played by GD related acts. The DeVos Auditorium Hall was everything I hoped for; clean, modern, well-designed facility. Great acoustics; a real benefit I was hoping for!!!!! Very nice and wonderful staff at DeVos >> no hassles and they seemed to enjoy this crowd. I had a balcony seat but the event was not sold out and they moved us down to the mezzanine. Nicer! The entire show was really well-played with few mistakes and a great energy throughout. Jackstraw nicely opened the first set after a few minute standard musical intro that is par for the course these days. Easy To Slip, in my opinion, was the best performance of the first set >> played to perfection. Greatest Story Ever Told was a nice surprise and also well-played. Next came Weather Report Prelude, parts I and II >> Bob was a little rusty picking out the prelude part, but the rest was smoking hot. Really nice closure to set 1 which clocked in around 76 minutes or so. Set 2 was wonderful throughout with the opening Dylan tune "A Hard Rain Is Gonna Fall" well sung in it's entirety. Kudos to Bob remembering all the lyrics without a teleprompter; at least from the mezzanine I did not see one on stage. Next "Friend of the Devil" was perfect, but not overly extended and missing Jeff Chimenti and Robin Sylvester for most of the song. Nice, but brief piano solo towards the end of FOTD. Bob and Steve Kimock interplayed nicely on this tune without cluttering guitars. Rob Wasserman and Jay Lane were wonderful on this as well >> truly wonderful ensemble interplay. Next came 3 songs in succession: He's Gone > The Wheel > Two Djinn. Just wonderful, but here is where my only real complaint of this concert exists. They had the sound volume way too loud and this ended up disrupting the delicate acoustic clarity in this performance hall. This was noted mostly during Set 2 and especially on Two Djinn; the separation and clarity of notes played was lost to some degree; muddling occurred. Hopefully the CD of the show is better. By the way, "The Wheel" had one of the best post-Jerry cresendo "bound to cover just a little more ground" I have seen. The mid-set 2 jam without Bob Weir was once again entertaining (if your a Deadhead). I like this part of the show because it seems to be new improvisation with each show. Wonderful versions of Wharf Rat and Good Lovin' were played except they could have turned the volume down a notch. US Blues encore was nice to hear and the last one for me was the Furthur Rochester Hills MI show a couple years ago. I will take one last moment to make an observation >> Bob has some difficulty making it through the lyrics of this song error-free and this night was no exception. On the other hand, he personally plays this song with a high degree of difficulty playing slide throughout. Now I admire greatly that he takes this challenge upon himself, but maybe a "cleaner, less awkward" version of US Blues would result without the slide and letting Kimock fill in more prominently. Just an idea... no biggie and I enjoy hearing US Blues since these days it is rarely played. I do not remember the time length of Set 2 exactly but I'm guessing somewhere near 100 minutes. Thank you for reading this review and that's all folks.

Let's just be clear about what this show is. It is an effort to reproduce the magic of a Grateful Dead show. It's not phony or contrived because the frontman is one of the principal architects of that magic, and his voice and his playing are still in full force. The band behind him is largely excellent, especially the other guitarist and the keyboard player. All that's missing is Jerry. The setlist was songs the Dead wrote, songs the Dead covered, and songs the Dead could have written. The night was absolutely perfect. All that was missing was the hippie chicks undulating in the aisle. This is the closest Grand Rapids has ever come to a Dead concert (their scheduled March 1968 show at Fountain Street Church was canceled, allegedly due to weather), and it is something we have sorely needed. The audience was hugely appreciative.

Show was fantastic. Song list was most of my favorites and the band was tight. Bobby was really strong and there was a clear groove in the room with the band and the audience. Paramount, despite its age, was very good acoustics. I was on aisle in row O on the floor which was a great seat. Had seen Ratdog at the Wellmont in Montclair a few months earlier and I came away not very satisfied with the show. The Paramount show now has me believing that they just had a bad night at the Wellmont.

A fun hot show on a cold night! Watching the balcony rockin' is scary. especially when you are sitting under it. They should check that out. This beautiful theater was built as a movie house in the 1920's. Not sure if it's built for 1600 people dancing on the balcony!

Good show. Beautiful venue. Love RatDog but missed the horns! We did wish the second set was a little bit more lively.

Bob Weir and The Band really put on a nice show.It sounded like Bob may have had a slight cold but his voice was strong and clear. It took the crowd a little to get going, but the place really got rockin,

Great performance! Was also entertained by the many fair haired dreds in the crowd. Thought it was strange that they took a 45 minute intermission, then in the middle of a performance, got the crowd singing and Bob Weir walked off stage. Good show but was disappointed that he didn't interact with the crowd. Never said hello, we're glad to be in Buffalo or anything like that. Just came on the stage and started playing. Maybe they were not happy they had to be in Buffalo when it was so cold.

Bob Weir and RatDog were hotter than Buffalo chicken wings on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 when they played Shea's Performing Arts Center just a few blocks away from the famed Anchor Bar where chicken wings were born in 1964 in downtown Buffalo, NY. An opening jam took the sold-out crowd into a Grateful Dead favorite "Jack Straw", then into the first four Bob Dylan tunes "All Along the Watchtower" which melted into a Bob Weir-John Barlow penned "Wrong Way Feeling." Dylan's "Maggie's Farm" was next. Bob Weir's voice sounded stronger than ever. The new line up with Rob Wasserman on stand-up bass and Steve Kimock on lead guitar really pushes the band into straight ahead rock and roll with all the power of northbound train. Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried" and "Loser" brought me to my favorite moment of the night. The first set kicking and screaming closer of the RatDog song "Two Dijiin!" From the second Jeff Chimenti starting pounding the keyboard introducing the song I was fist- pumping in the air. After the break the second set opened with an old traditional (not the Willie Nelson song) "On the Road Again" Ratdog.org says it was the first time in 148 shows that the song was played. I took the opportunity to leave my 18th row seat and dance the second set away in the back of theater. Another Dylan "Desolation Row", "Birdsong" into "Trucking" back into "Birdsong" and because it was Fat Tuesday- "Iko Iko" had the dancers spinning! Another Dylan to slow it down with "Knocking on Heaven's Door" and then we're "Going Down the Road Feeling Bad." The encore- the Grateful Dead song charted the highest on Billboard topping at number 9 in the 1980's- "Touch of Grey." The Shea's staff and volunteers we're very helpful. Thanks for a real good time!

Outstanding blend of blues and ballad, with an eerie tone that scratched the soul--upright bass. Shea's was perfect!
