I've seen Pat with the full band, I ve seen Pat with just a bassist, I ve seen Pat with "friends" (3 guys- bass, drums, keyboard/horn). All three concerts were amazing. He's an incredibly versitile musician with an intimate rappore with the audience. His distinctive music has a Jackson Browne-like sound to his vocals, and John Mayer style guitar- with an occasional southern rock kick mixed in. Lyrics that wrap your heart up in a song and set you free. I first got interested in McGee with a song on Pandora, then another. I picked up a cd, then another, then another. Now I've picked up all 9 CDs, and gotten hooked on the live performances. He s a guy you've probably never heard of, but who has a very loyal fan base. Now it's up to you. Sit there at the computer, or get out and FIND OUT WHY! Go to a concert, buy a cd. You won't regret it. And if you make it to the concert, look for me. I might be on the front row!

Pat touring with the full band, including sax player Michael Geegan, who recorded with the band on the "Revel " album. The show was fantastic. The band was having fun, and it made the whole show a blast. Lots of audience interaction (more than any other band out there), lots of freestyle jamming, songs from Pat's entire catalog, and a great venue to see them in. Opening act Will Dailey did a nice acoustic set, and The Elms were a blast. Only complaints are venue related: 1) Doors didn't open until 9PM w/ 2 opening acts, meant Pat didn't take stage until after 11PM. No problem w/ either opening act (they were both great) but it made the show go way to late on a week night. Makes it tough on the baby sitter on a school night (I'm pretty sure she'll never be allowed to do that again). 2) Treble level on sound was way too high, and made the sound "tinny" and overly distorted. Plus (and maybe I'm just getting old but volume was at "arena" level in a room w/ a capacity of 400 and was 1/4 or less full. All it does is make every thing distorted. Fine for a metal band, but Pat McGee is a more acoustic rock band, so too much of the melodies, harmonies, and instrumentation gets lost in the mix.

WOW! The Pat McGee Band was fabulous!! We had invited friends to go with us and they thought it was terrific! Pat opened for himself, which was great! Everyone was so relaxed.... Pat invited two young boys from the audience up on stage to play the drums with Chardy.....great idea and so much fun to watch! We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.....Pat McGee is not only a talented musician but also has such a personable on-stage presence!

I love Pat McGee Band - I have been following him for over 10 years (not as long as some, but for quite awhile) This time, I really missed seeing a lot of the local Northern VA/Richmond folks that used to make up the "Band" part of PMB. The show sounded great, they played a fair amount of new music - not as many of the old favorites. What I can really no longer tolerate is the Birchmere. General admission, seating at huge picnic tables, $75 for two people to walk in the door (tix) then another $75 to eat and have a couple drinks. $2 for a 16 oz bottle of water? C'mon.

I had an amazing time at the Pat McGee Band concert at the National. I missed most of the opening act but Schiavone's last two songs were unbelievable. Really made me regret my late arrival! I am new fan of his and am already looking forward to his event at Capital Ale House. Pat was great as always. Was blown away by the rest of the band as well. Overall, awesome time and I would gladly go back and see him again next time he is in town.

This was my first time and certainly not the last , to catch Mr. McGee and his band live. Each of the 8 players, skilled in their craft, strung together a unique blend of rock and contemporary country. In between songs, Pat and Michael entertained the crowd with their witty bantering, to set the stage for the next delivery. The rhythm section was exceptional, as well as the the 'Jersey Horns', highlighted by Michael playing sax and keys simultaneously. Pat kept them all together, switching up between acoustic and his strat-now back in the fold. The overall sound was tight and hard driving, when they wanted to press their delivery. There just didn't seem to be enough time for one show , to play all their hits. Very impressive live band !

Pats voice was in fine form and the band kicked ass as always! Mike ghegan was sick as was Nate Davis on the drums! Do miss Brian fechino on the lead guitar or Shane Hines but outstanding performance by my favorite artist. Already getting a group 2gether for ramshead show in June

Pat McGee band was "on" for this show. A new cd was introduced and they played some very good tunes. A lot of older music that stands the test of time was requested and played. Saxaphone/keyboard was amazing as usual. I've seen this band several times and this was by far one of the best shows. Pat McGee Band is much better in the smaller venues. Birchmere is always a great place to see a show. But they now charge for water - no more free pitchers of H20.

Great seeing the Pat McGee Band with the Sax. Pat and Michael totally rocked the house. Strange seeing Pat on the lead and only guitar, but was very good. Chardy and the new drummer were great. Taylor was pretty good. Better than expected. Missed the opening act :(

My husband and I have seen The Pat McGee Band all over Chicago, and I can say that this was the most intimate and unforgettable show that we have ever seen him perform. The Park West Venue is perfect for his music. We were only about 50 feet away from the stage, yet each group is situated at their own table so it feels very relaxed, almost like you are the only people there!! I would recommend seeing him if you ever get the opportunity. His openers were also very entertaining. We went right out and purchased The Elms new album.

Great set from Pat. Not so sure about some of his new band members, but good to see Pat and Chardy still going strong. Pat's set didn't start until after 11:00pm, though. Why so late on a weekday?!?

Pat McGee is always a great show. This time around there was a new band member which added to the great musical sound. The only issue was the sound was mixed poorly. I don't know if that comes from the Magic Bag itself or simply the person mixing, but it didn't always come off clear. Opening bands could have been better. The hospitality at the Magic Bag is always great and the prices for drinks are reasonable. Always a great show to attend and I'd do so again.

The Pat McGee band at the Showcase Live was as good as any other PMB show I've seen or heard. The band is on! On a side note, the Showcase Live in Patriot Place (Foxboro MA) is a fantastic venue! It's big enough to pack in a good crowd but small enough you can get a good view from anywhere.

This was my first time seeing Pat McGee. I brought my wife, who had seen him many years ago in Nantucket at a hole-in-the wall venue. We both loved the show. We had the best seats in the house too which didn't hurt. Pat and his band were terrific, plus you could tell they were simply genuinely good people. Overall great show

I've been a long time fan of the Pat McGee Band but haven't been able to see them in a few years. Honestly, I questioned if they would still have "it." As usual, they did not disappoint. Great music, great voices, great band! It wasn't a sell out crowd but it was small and intimate - a very personal show with Pat thanking people that have been there for him over the years. Really a nice, mellow, enriching, amazing time! My only complaint - next time you guys must have someone manning the CD booth. Sure hope they got the 5 bucks I left for the CD! :)

The Birchmere was not the place for Pat McGee, it felt more like dinner theater. Either the place sucked the life out of the band or the band stopped being the fun loving band that we all wanted to see. At one point they played New York State of Mind, this is not the band you go to see to hear a slow cover!! We missed the old Pat McGee we used to see at Wolf Trap and stand and sing along. Here you sat in your seat and listened to covers with some of the peppy songs sprinkled in. I wish that I wouldve saved my money, had my friends over my place and but on a Pat McGee Pandora, that wouldve been way more fun!!

I have been following Pat McGee for years and they just get better and better. I loved the Commander and guitarist from Sister Hazel getting up on stage. That was very cool. And when the band just starts jammin' and songs go on and on.... my favorite. I am never as happy as I am when I am in front of live music and this time was no different. Loved chatting with Pat, Chardy, and Al afterwords as well!!!!!

This has to be the strangest show I have ever seen. Pat McGee opened for himself?! Then the keyboardist played a few of his new songs which were very, very slow and depressing. Isn't the opener supposed to get the crowd warmed up? During the show Pat kept stopping between songs to tell depressing stories about how he played or wrote this son for a child dying of cancer or for 9/11. I came to be entertained and left depressed. What a downer. And the music he did play was mixed up and all sounded like the same song.

First I will admit while I'm a PMB fan I haven't heard his most recent stuff. Last time I heard him in Boston was a few years ago, at a free outdoor concert that was outstanding. I was expecting something similar, well crafted songs, sweet harmonies, and expert musicianship. I didn't really care for this concert, and here's why: there was too much long, loud jamming, and not enough snappy songs that I am familiar with. As the evening progressed, the songs got longer and louder, and more of a show-off type of jam than a cohesive performance. Pat Lso wasted too much time chatting in between songs, just play, ok? I admit I am older than the crowd there, and I'm also a musician. I appreciated thei expertise, but Pat is not a great guitarist, he's a great singer/songwriter, but it seemed to me he was trying to change personas, and be a rock guitar Idol.

Pat & the band (and friends) brought another spectacular show to The Birchmere. The sound was good, the energy was amazing and the playlist had a lot of variety from previous years shows. WELL worth the few dollars for a ticket, the drive to Alexandria and the cost of a sitter. Great job tea bag! (joke from the show) Have a GREAT tour! Love the most recent album.

Pat McGee and his Band are the best! He always combines a terrific mixture of his harmonic "ballads" and his best rock classics in his live shows. Pat is such a great entertainer, yet such a down-to-earth regular kind of guy. You are severely missing the boat if you have not yet discovered Pat McGee!

I usually love seeing Pat Mcgee live, and will see him again, but this wasn't as good as usual. The sound was way too loud for the venue, and the sound was kind of muffled and overly "bassy." While the keyboard/sax player was very good, I don't think the band sounds as good without Brian on lead guitar. I'm sure Pat sang well, but hearing his vocals clearly was difficult. The opening band Bronze Radio Return played an energetic set of mostly hooky tunes that were unfortunately played WAY TO LOUD for the venue. I did not see the first performer. I like the Brighton Music Hall, but if you're going, you better get dropped off by your mother, because parking is nearly impossible. You might get lucky, but most of the side roads have signs saying "Resident permit only," and the tow trucks are all around and happy to remove your vehicle.
