Guitars and Saxes are The Bomb, whomever is playing. I just love these guys. Gerald, Peter and Kirk were an added bonus. I saw Guitars and Saxes in Houston, with Euge Groove, Jessy J and Jeff Lorber were excellent also.

This was the most amazing show. Kirk Whalum and Gerald Albright on sax, and Peter White & Jeff Golub on guitar. Kirk Whalum was the only artist I had seen in concert before, but I will definitely go see all the others now. Jeff Golub was the bomb; he's got that blues thang going on, and Whalum never fails to praise God, from whom all blessings flow. They all compliment each other very well.

I bought tickets on Feb 19th as soon as the pre-sale started for this G&S show. I was excited to see that Gerald Albright would be one of the performers. He was THE ONLY REASON I bought tickets. A week or so before the show when I got my event reminder, I noticed that Gerald was no longer on the ticket. I was so disappointed. I tried finding answers to my questions (Why? and How do I get my money back?) on the TM web site and had no luck. Euge is a great musician and performer, but I've seen him before several times. I've also seen Jeff and Jeff a few times before. I most likely wouldn't have bought tickets to go see them all again. I was looking forward to seeing Gerald. The couple sitting next to us was also disappointed that he was not there for the same reason (they'd seen all the others before).

Great concert with a good mix of talent on the Sax including newcomer Jessy J (she is so fine). First time seeing Euge G. live as I just missed him on 2 previous occasions near my city, so I traveled 300 miles to see him. The 2 Jeff's (Golub and Lorber) performed as expected being veteran musicians in top form. This is a must see combo if they are in or near your city.

The concert was awesome!!!! One of the best I have attended. Uge Groove is the man!!!! Jessy Jay is an up and coming superstar. I have no accolades good enough to describe Jeff Golub and Jeff Loerber. I hope I spelled all the names right. The backup muscians were great also. It was like they had been playing together for years. I recommend seeing Guitars and Saxes to everyone.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the Guitars and Saxes show in June. We loved Jessy J as well as all the musicians. Jeff Golub, Jeff Lorber and Euge Groove were phenomenal. A great mix of talent that really came through on stage. This was our first trip to the Keswick and were very happy with the whole experience. Hopefully we can come back again soon! Please bring Jessy back as we have become big fans of her's since seeing her in Reading for the Berks Jazzfest a few years ago.

This was my first time seeing Euge Groove in concert. The energy that he brought to this group of fine artist was over the top. Jesse J, Jeff Golub, Jeff Lorber, and the rest of the band entertained all of us out of our seats.

We've seen most of these entertainers at various venues. It's well worth the money for the 4 in 1 concert. You must like smooth jazz, though. Euge Groove was our favorite but Jessy J wasn't as good so she should have gone first but, in all, it was a great event.

I am a big jazz fan as we have the Berks Jazz Fest in Reading every year I have seen these artists perform several times. I first saw Jessy J in Reading at the Jazz Fest 2 years ago and I was impressed with her then. Euge Groove, Jeff Golub and Jeff Lorber are also participants of the Berks Jazz Fest and they are truly a pleasure to watch and hear. This was a great choice to have all 4 perform together as they rocked the house in Glenside, PA. I wish I would've been able to hear them at the Capital Jazz Fest that same weekend (Sunday) in Maryland. I would love to see mor them together, such as Brian Culbertson with Euge Groove, Jeff and Jeff.

Each of these supreme jazz entertainers would have been great to experience alone, but what an amazing jazz explosion to see Jeff Golub, one of the best guitarists; Jeff Lorber, sweet music just rolls off his piano keys; and Jessy J, a burst of fire and sax; play together !! Their energy was great and the music superb! The Snoqualime Casino was a delightful venue to enjoy them. They connected with the audience and got us up on our feet and dancing! Parking was free and the showroom was amble without being overwhelming!

The entire concert from start to finish was a class act. I loved the comradery between Jeff, Peter, Kirk & Gerald you could see the mutual respect for each other that they had musically and as friends. I loved how they each did their own thing and then came back together as a group. It was just awesome! Fraze Pavillion is my new favorite outdoor venue for a concert, it was very clean and the all the workers were very courteous and helpful. Everything that you would need during the show (drinks, food or restroom) was in close proximity to your seat. No fifty cent tours!!!! This was one of my favorite concert's of the year.

Really enjoyed the concert at Skyline Stage in Chicago. The venue is awesome and loved Guitars and Saxes. I am very familiar with the music of Jeff Golub and Peter White, and have seen them in concert many times. They are always impressive. I've only seen Kirk Whalem once before and I think he has grown as an artist. This was the first time to see Gerald Albright and I was pleasantly surprised at his musical ability and showmanship. If they come back to Chicago, I will be there.

When you have so many stars on the stage at once, you begin to wonder how they will share the spotlight. It was done very tastfully. Each one had an opportunity to shine. Each star also got an opportunity to play their favorite hits that made them famous. There was a threat of rain for the evening, but the weather cooperated and it turned out to be a fantastic evening for the concert. The Fraze is an excellent place to hold events; there really are no bad seats. Additionally, all events held at the Fraze are very organized.

seats were good (could see very good) but either the mix was poor or due to the location of our seats I could not hear jeff golubs guitar very well. could be that it went over our heads - we were in the fourth row stage right just under the main speaker. could hear the saxes and peter whites guitar very well, unforunately for me, the main reason I went was to hear Jeff Golub.

I am at a loss for words (very unusual for me). This concert was simply one of the best-EVER! Those four artists, Whalum, Gollub, Albright, White, all on the same stage, at the same time and individually, was well worth the ticket price. Two solid hours of the best sounds of smooth jazz, in a setting like the Skyline Stage at Navy Pier, the weather was perfect, it was romatic, the acoustics were great-AND-they each stayed to autograph their CDs we purchased. All I can say is: "When is the next "Guitars and Saxes?"

wonderful venue, great night, great music, only problem was it was only half full (or less) - disappointing for the performers. Needs much more publicity. I miss the old days of five concerts every summer on the navy pier stage. Even dinner beforehand at RIVA's was excellent.

The concert with Kirk Whalum, Gerald Albright, Peter White, and Jeff Golub was a high energy affair. The ongoing artist rotation ensured that things never go stale. The set in which they each spoke/played/sang about the artists that influenced them was memorable and provided unique insight into how each developed their styles. The back up artists were excellent and provided great support and leads when provided the chance.

We are big jazz fans, so whenever they have concerts at Navy Pier ....we go. I have always thought the performances were superior and last night was no exception. I thought it was just a bit less than what we usually experience but by no means average. I would love to see the jazz package come back during the summer; one jazz concert at Navy Pier June, July and August like they used to do a few years back. I would also like to see some of the new talent introduced; like last year they had Jessie J. Also, it would be great to get a few jazz vocalists mixed in. I love, love, love the venue!! Navy Pier, Jazz in the summer in Chicago.....life is good.

I have had the opportunity to attend these venues for the past 6+ years and have enjoyed them tremendously..... I was saddened to see the poor turnout for this years performance. The artists were wonderful and added a new twist with giving us some of their background and what inspired them to become the musicians they are today. My only complaint was that I had been on the look out for this event as early as March of this year, waiting in anticipation of what the date would be. It was almost a fluke that I did a search and there it was. PLEASE put Guitars and Saxes on the calendar earlier for those of us that wait for it each year. GREAT performance by all......

WOW what an incredible show! Jeff Golub, Peter White, Kirk Whalum and Gerald Albright are all such gifted musicians. And to hear them all play together was so much fun. Gerald Albright kiddingly said they could play until 4AM. I wish they had! What made it even more special is that they are not only fellow musicians but great friends. Jeff Golub played a medley of his hits with his co-stars, many of which they had recorded with Jeff. They each talked about their musical influences which led Kirk Whalum to play "Oh Happy Day" and Gerald Albright to play "Mercy, Mercy". Jeff Golub of course played the blues and Peter White was inspired by the Beatles' "Day Tripper". If this show comes to your area and you love great jazz, don't miss it. "When The Saints Come Marching In" was a grand encore. And the way they did it was so cool.

The personalities of Albright, Golub, Whelan and White and their muscianship was superb. This is the third Guitars & Saxes show I've seen, and it was outstanding. White, Golub, Allbright, & Whalum were awesome together! Their drummer, Eric Valentine was amazing. If you don't have a good drummer, it can't happen! Navy Pier Skyline Stage totally excellent venue. Every seat is a good seat. Acoustics perfect. Amazing how you forget it is an outdoor stage. Perfect weather. All for dynamic performers. Didn't realize they would perform together vs. one after another, I really really liked this idea. Kinda like the Cirque de Soleil of Guitas and Saxes. Amazing how on one song Gerald Albright and Kirk Whalum flowed seamlessly from one sax to the next. I absolutely love Kirk Whalum truly talented, spiritual, enegetic and very much the stage performer. If I had the money I would follow him all over the world, but since I can't, I got my autographed CD! Peter White and Jeff Golub are totally crazy guys. And Mr. Albright is just too smooth. Loved the combination of talent, different backgrounds, and yes, different types of sexiness!

The venue was great. I thought this group did too much talking and too little playing. When they did play it was pretty good. Although the dancing around the stage was a little hokey and took away from the music. They also did not play very long at all! I have been going to these for 5 years and this by far, was the weakest and least satisfying of all the concerts, particularly musically!!! This group, this year, was not worth the ticket price .....

I pay money to attend musical concerts for the musical performance, not to hear about the musicians personal enlightenment... And the concert was very short--considering they made opening act David Wells play an hour, when he was scheduled for 45 minutes and then took 40 minutes to remove David's guitarist amplifier from the stage...

Guitars & Saxes was off the charts. David Wells, the opening act was only o.k. He is a great horn blower, though he hit some flat notes. But, his between-the-songs banter was really annoying and excessive. I'm a Christian also, but he was so obviously pandering to the Christian crowd, like a politician. It was in-sincere. Scott Gold, his bassman -- high energy fun. He saved the opening act. Back to the main event. The four up front were great musicians and entertainers. The three supporting musicians were equally great. Their drummer did a powerful solo; he even did the running man as he whaled away. Go see these guys. Just don't be in a hurry for the warm-up.

This was a great show. Unlike the last time I saw their performance where each artist performed their own sets, they integrated their songs and player off each other's talents. Nice variety of styles, from blues to gospel to contemporary jazz to smooth jazz. Between Kirk and Gerald - best performance of saxes I have seen. When Jeff goes over the edge with his guitar - great stuff!

The combination of these players was unusually effective. Even the warmup act of David Wells was well suited and they were very entertaining. This year's show was even better than last year's - and they were great. Navy Pier's Skyline Stage was graced with smooth jazz artists Jeff Golub, Jeff Lorber and new comer Jesse J at the recent concert in June. Headliner Euge Groove mixed it up with Golub, Lorber and Jesse J in a sensational tour de force of smooth jazz. Jeff Golub showed his blues and jazz roots as well as some very nice rock licks on the guitar. Jeff Lorber showed us why he has been a fusion and smooth jazz mainstay for 20+ years with his tight piano and synthesizer. Jesse J made her presence known with her sexy sax sounds and lovely melodies such as "Tequila Moon" and "Turquois Street." But it was Euge Groove that I came to see and he did not disappoint! Euge played such hits as "Livin' Large" and "Religify" and had the fans on their feet and dancing in the aisles. No one walked away from this outstanding concert disappointed. Wanting more music, yes, but absolutely satisfied with what they had heard.

Guitars and Saxes was a refreshing night out and well worth the money, time, and effort. The band came out one at a time and featured a hit tune from each individual act and then alternated throughout the gig. They played with passion, flair, and showmanship. Euge Groove took on the role of getting the crowd into it and truly "worked up a sweat." Jessy provided the looks and down to earth part of the show by revealing her modest but stylish outfit was from Target. The two Jeffs added studio precision and superb keyboards and guitar to a well rounded blend of smooth jazz. The venue provided additional enjoyment and despite a late start, proved to be a worthy host. Comfortable seats, good acoustics, and reasonable prices combined with the excellent smooth jazz to make this a memorable occasion. My wife who isn't an overly huge jazz fan commented on how talented, fun, and tight this band was for being a random collection of artists. True indeed.

This was an excellent show. I can not stop listening to Huge Groove. It was something missing - WNUA announcers. Hopefully we will get more shows like this in the future. Welcome 87.7FM.

As expected and delivered, Guitars and Saxes was a great show !! Euge Groove took control of the stage and delivered a great performance and even made us laugh with his stories and jokes. There was great chemistry between all of the performers even though the show was not polished.

Guitars & Saxes smooth jazz concert at Navy Pier makes summer in Chicago for me. There's nothing like enjoying your favorite artists in an outdoor, lakeside venue on a beautiful evening in Chicago. I wish there were more smooth jazz concerts at Navy Pier during the summer in Chicago.

Overall, a nice show. Jeff Golub, Huge Groove and Jessey were great ! The guy on the audio board could have been a lot more attentive to microphone needs by Jessey J. He was slow to adjust her microphone properly
