The singers sang other group hits. Most of them too old to keep performing.

My husband and I have been going to holiday Doo Wops for years at the Mellon Arena. They were spectacular. We were disappointed after the show at the Consol Energy Center on December 3, 2010. The accoustics were bad and the acts were not good. When the group was singing accapela, the girl from Richard Nader walked around the stage in front of them and gave them the "cut" sign by slashing her hand in front of her throat. They finished their song and left the stage. I thought that was very tacky. Then when Mr. Mara was singing, she let the aforementioned group sing backup for him, but had them stand on the floor instead of on the stage with him. He even remarked that he didn't know why they did that. The whole production seemed very poorly put together. The two bright spots were the little girl who sang at the beginning and, of course, the Planotones! They would sound terrific anywhere. Bobby Rydell, although I liked him in the 60s, isn't someone I would associate with Doo Wop. All in all, we were disappointed in the show.

I liked almost all of the groups. The unfortunate thing was that the promotor, the Nader Chick had to get on stage and and try to play master of ceremonies. Can't she just be happy with making a buck? I didn't pay to see her.

We have attended other Christmas Doo Wops but this was the worst. There was only a few good ones of the groups and some groups we had never heard of. The arena is very nice. This time the groups DID rotate around the stage which made it very nice.

Performers were very good but the music was before our time. We prefer the 60's & 70's music, hoping next year's show will include those groups.

This year's Doo Wop reunion was disappointing compared to previous years. There weren't as many "name" performers and the acts were not as classic as in years' past.

My wife and I enjoyed a tremendous night of oldies. the bill was fantastic, not one performance was substandard or inferior. For a 65 year old couple, it took us back to our teens and a happier time.

We considered this "fair"--**. First two acts we would rank as poor. Subsequent acts improved but were largely music from the 50's and not enough balance with rock and roll music from the 60's. Needed a higher energy group like Smokey Robinson or Frankie Valley. We have attended some top Doo Wop concerts in other geographic areas which were outstanding. We would be highly skeptical of attending another Pittsburgh event

My husband is the true Doo Wop fan, and he was thrilled. I thought most of the acts were very good, but didn't understand why the opening act (Amanda ??) was in this line-up. She was mediocre at best. I liked the Teenagers (loved their dignity) and Jay and the Americans the best. The tempos with Bobby Rydell -- among the drummer, the band and him -- fell apart at times. I thought the drummer who played the rest of the night was much better than Bobby Rydell's drummer. He was pounding away on those drums way too much. I thought the ending, bringing out all the performers after the house lights had come up was anticlimactic.

The Doo Wop concert was fabulous. All the acts were great and entertaining. I take my parents every year and we really enjoy it as a family. The best thing was our seats were upgraded to Section 103, row A. We were front in center.

Groups were excellent but sound system is really poor. This is a terrible venue for a centerstage performance as the sound echoes all around. It was less when the groups were singing slow songs but during regular speech the speaker could not be understood due to the multiangle echoes. The small chairs on the floor are VERY uncomfortable...do not sit there unless you are 5" 5" and weigh 90 pounds, but count on the person next to being one of the larger adipose set.

The Doo Wop Concert on Friday night was a great experience...the groups really brought their "A" game. Platatones were the best but when it came to a show stopper...Jay Black took the prize! His Cara Mia blew us away...as always even at his age he could still send chills up our spines with his voice. Along with all the other groups, it was a pleasure being there!

What a night!! Pittsburgh Doo Wop was amazing! We had such a great time walking down memory lane. My only complaint was that we looked at the backs of most of the groups as they were singing. We had floor seats in the 3rd row. I wish the groups had turned around so that we could also see their faces as they performed. I still would highly recommend Doo Wop.

We love the new Console Energy Center. We have been to many hockey games, concerts, and other events there. But the accoustics for this show were ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE from our floor seats! We could not understand a single spoken word onstage even though we were only 40 feet from the stage! The music itself was bearable, but very poor due to the reverberation at our location. Many, many people around us left their tables for seats higher in the arena to gain better sound.

Great seats on the floor, had a rough time understanding the spoken word due to echo or poor acustics. Music was outstanding. There needs to be more acts found,so us folks that are getting older can share the Golden times with our grandkids and their friends. We can't let our era be forgotten

I attended the Pittsburgh Doo Wop on Friday Dec 9, 2011. Our seats were on the floor level. The acoustics were horrible. We were able to hear, but we could not understand anything that was being said. The table was near one of the exits and it was like sitting in a wind tunnel. It was so cold we never took off our coats. I would not recommend this to anyone. I don't believe this was worth the ticket price.

We have attended all the Christmas Doo Wop shows and this is the 1st time we were ever disappointed. As always we loved Kenny Vance, he is a true headliner; but most of the other acts fell short. I also was disappointed that 95% of time the acts only faced one way, the rest of the audience was awarded with side and back views. When the concert is in the round, the acts should make an effort to rotate. I also thought the sound quality this year was very poor. If this had been my 1st time attending one of these shows I would not be returning.

We have attended this event for a number of years now and have not been disappointed. All of the performers were good, but Kenny Vance and the Planotones continue to bring us back each year. This was my 4th Richard Nader concert in Pittsburgh and I enjoyed every minute of it! Since my Pittsburgh Oldies Record Collectors Club disbanded 2 years ago, this is just about the only way for me to see the Oldies groups I so love! Deborah Nader had everything so well organized and the entertainers are always so well chosen. I will continue to go to every one of them that I am physically able to get to.

I've seen better Doo Wop shows, and for this being an Anniversary Special, it should have more headliners. Furthermore, the accustics were not great in the Consol Energy Center for a concert.

I thought the concert was fantastic. My personal opinion is that the mikes should be suspended from the ceiling so the performers didn't have to keep moving the mike stands out of the way. At times the music, which was spectakular, was maybe a little too loud to hear the singers real well. My party set on the floor and the view was wonderful. We could see the performers. Hopefully, I will be able to attend the next performance.

Doo Wop music is so uplifting, so entertaining, so filled with energy. We very much enjoyed the music. I only wish we could hear when the folks on state were talking to the audience. Early in the show the microphones needed to be adjusted so each of the performers could be heard, and that was mastered before the next act. However, we could never hear the discussion between acts. Perhaps it was only a problem with the floor seats, since everyone else in the arena was able to respond.

The show was great. The singers were enjoying the show as much as the audience. To have the opportunity to see some of the singers all together is something that may not happen again! I would not suggest paying the extra for floor seats, but to go to the show, I highly suggest.

The event was very good event but the accoustics were very poor. We were seated near the performers and we could hear them but it would seem to me that the people that were seated in the back rows would probably not be able to hear anything. I think the speakers on stage should have been more powerful and then the performance would have been much better. The acts were great but the sound system they had was poor. We also attended the "Eagles" concert at the energy center and their speaker system was great and you could hear them all the way up to the upper decks where we were seated.

Loved the show. Kenny Vance and Planatones was great as usual. Love to see them in person and it was worth the "price of admission." They are keeping the music alive. Only negative comment is that we were sitting in Section 104 and the groups played to the other side of the facility.

seemed to be more 50's/60's music as opposed to specifically Doo Wop. It was entertaining yet very hard to hear what any act was saying. You could hear the singing just fine, but could not hear what anyone was saying at all. Young girl that opened the show seemed out of place - she sang NO doo wop. I most likely will not attend another Doo Wop show and definitely will not do so at Consol Energy Center - too big a venue for this type of show.

Kenny Vance and the Planetones are always extremely entertaining and talented. However, several of the other acts this year were not as recognizable or engaging, and the announcers didn't always come across clearly, so that sometimes we didn't know who we were watching/hearing. Would like to see more of the Little Anthony & the Imperials, the Marcels, the Platters, type of show.

This was one of the WORSE concerts I have ever attended. I am a avid Doo Wop person & I will NEVER attend a Richard Nader Production concert again!!! I had front row seats on the floor & exepected to see a great show. Instead I sat in a cold arena with my coat on all evening and saw POOR performances. They had the band in a pit area which could not be seen from the floor. There was a change in the performers that were suppose to attend. The ones I wanted to see did not show up. The tickets were purchased in May, 2011 - first day they went on sale. Had I know who was actually going to be there I would not have spent the money to purchase the top notch tickets. Their was no crowd interaction. I was so frustrated that I sent a email to the production home office. A refund should be issued to everyone (including me) that attended - it was not worth the money!! A VERY DISAPPOINTING concert.

Nader Entertainment put together a terrific show. each of the groups performed a number of their hit songs, most of the more popular hits of the doo wop era. I attended last years show, and between the two I think they were both outstanding.. I look forward to the next Doo Wop event at the Consol Energy Center. It is a very nice venue for concerts. This show was my gift to my husband for his birthday. While it was not a flop - it was not outstanding, either. It was a nice evening - due to the fact that we were so close to the stage. Being able to actually see the artists faces was a boon. We were given completely WRONG directions on how to get to our seats by a friendly usher - and that was a bit frustrating. The seating was "tight" - chairs were far too close together on the floor (for the price) and the seats in the stands looked to be more comfortable. I realize that the performers are all aging - but they still did a very nice job - especially Kenny Vance and the Planotones - and Eddie Holman should have done twice the tunes! His set was too short, to be sure! As for the opening act...I am sorry to say that I cannot remember the little girl's name - having programs would have been helpful - but a 15 year old girl singing tunes such as "I Will Survive" just didn't seem to fit the billing for the evening. Age and style made the opening act inappropriate - her voice was nice for her age - just not the venue for her. To be very honest, the opening act, combined with the fact that the sound system was not the best (although some acts seemed to sound better as the show progressed) made me very concerned that I may have wasted money on this event. Once Eddie Holman began his set, I felt better about the effort made to give my hubby a gift of the music he so loves. Because HE was happy - I was able to be happy about spending the money.

I bought these tickets for my mother for her birthday gift because she is a huge doo wop fan. Although she was very thankful for the gift she didn't have good things to say about the concert. First of all she said the sound was muffled and couldn't understand what they were saying. Second of all she said there was a round stage (I had gotton her tickets at a table on the floor) and they looked at the performers backs all night. She was very disappointed! I was very unhappy to hear that my money was wasted and she didn't enjoy her evening.
