Prince

Following performances in Louisville, KY, The Village Voice raved “Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL succeeded in doing the seemingly impossible for the launch of the impromptu odyssey by forging an intimate, ironclad connection between one of pop's most aloof and untouchable performers and his adoring public.  They reached from the front row to the back of the balcony and met the outstretched arms and eager fingertips of Louisville in a mutual, ravenous embrace.”  Recently, Esquire commented,  “Where will Prince go next?  What will he play next?  No one knows, and that's the magnetism of Prince in 2015 – he keeps it unpredictable.  He keeps it real.

Imagine 20,000 people in your living room and Prince jamming solo on a purple baby grand, stringing hits together in 5+ minute melodies. It was an unforgettable night.

Any Prince show is amazing, but this performance proved to be quite unique! Accompanied only by his piano, Prince displayed his trademark passion and perfection, along with his theatrical excellence. He spanned his entire catalog, performing classic gems such as Little Red Corvette, Controversy, and When Doves Cry, along with newer songs such as Baltimore and Rocknroll Loveaffair from his new CD, HITnRUN Phase Two. His vocals, as always, had the power to excite, and he punctuated the show with an enthusiasm that was contagious. And as he has done in the past, he returned for THREE encores, to the delight of those of us who remained for the duration of the show.

In a word...fabulous. Loved the intimacy and opulence of the venue. This was a mystery date for my wife who is a big fan already (as am I) and it was everything I could have hoped for. It was my first time seeing him live and my wife's third. Prince played some of our vintage favorites and threw in some new stuff too. 3rdEyeGirl was off the hook too. Their cover of Michael Jackson's 'Don't Stop til You Get Enough' was the best I have heard. Also loved the mash-up he did of several signature songs and his interaction with the audience. Best concert for me in a loooooong time. Bravo!

OMG!! I didn't know exactly where my seats were until the night of the show. To my surprise and absolute delight I was in the 2nd row on the floor!! I nearly came out of my skin! The girl sitting next to us asked my friend if this was my first Prince concert.. . . she said "NOOO" with a confused look on her face. . so I told them both. "you don't understand. . . 2ND ROOOWWW!!!" When he threw his hat. . it ended up about 10 feet from me. . . OOOOoohhh. . so CLOSE!! I would've killed for that hat!! At one point in the show he came down and walked the perimeter of the stage handing out Johovah pamphlets. I turned to my friend and said to her. . ."if ANYBODY else on the planet gave this to me. . . it would go right into the trash. . . but PRINCE gave this to me. . it's a keeper!" Yes, I still have it. I'm going to MSG on Dec 18th. . looking forward to that one too.

If you are going to see any artist perform live in your life make it Prince!!! I've lost count of the number of times I've seen him over the past 25 years and it's a thrill every time! He just knows how to party! His vocals are always faultless, he plays guitar like a demon and piano like an angel. He works with the most amazing muscians and he stays on stage much longer than most artists do and doesn't ever seem to get tired??? Every show is different. You won't regret it and you'll compare every other performer you see after to him, and they won't come close! Be careful, you may become an addict to the funky genius!! Prince, I salute you! Big thanks and big love!

OK, so I recently traveled to Denmark to see Prince and I have to say it was the best experience of my life!! I originally only had tickets to the Herning show, but was able to score tickets for the Copenhagen show about an hour before the show started!! I was blown away by how amazing Prince sounds live and how gorgeous he looks in person! He came out at the Copenhagen show with "Future Soul Song" and I knew it was going to be a great show! He did all my favorite songs and I've never danced so much in my life, he was too funky! The NPG was great too! Prince played great guitar solos and his vocals were superb, he looked amazing, and he treated a few special fans to an encore. After saying goodnight, people started to leave. A few of us stayed behind and were shocked when Prince and the band came back and played a couple more songs!! It was such a treat, I was on cloud 9 the rest of the night... I didn't think it could get any better, until 2 nights later, after a 4hr train ride to Herning and almost 2 hours standing in the freezing rain, the doors were opened and there I was in the inner circle (my tickets upgraded free of charge when I got there!), with only 1 person in front of me! Prince came out on stage and opened with "Empty Room" then he followed with a rock jam session. I knew it would be different. Oh how I underestimated him....he ripped his shirt open and treated me to a eye-candy fest!! His body at 52 is still absolutely perfect and he knows how to turn on the charm and sex appeal. I've never screamed so loud or so much ever. And again, I danced the night away and didn't want it to end. He did alot of my favorite songs and even threw in some surprises! He was extremely playful and even called some of the audience up on stage to dance. It was reminiscent of the videos I had seen of him performing in the 80s. His outfits at this show were awesome too! He looks so great and really moves well. He still has it and never fails to give a show his all. This show reminded me of how great a dancer he is and why I love him sooooo much!! All in all, Prince is the great musician ever and he is the greatest live performer ever. I am really looking forward to seeing him again!! Prince is one of the musicians that everyone should see live once in their life...they will be shown what a musical genius is and what good live music is all about! I would and plan on traveling to other parts of the world to see Prince!!

I took my mom to see Prince for mothers day. We had the time of our lives. The show was incredible! I was on a natural high the entire show. At first they said our seats were not valid on the tickets and then the venue worker walked us down in front of the stage and gave us the best seats in the house. Prince sang to us the whole show. My friend who I bought the tickets from said the seats were empty all night which meant our tickets were good. I guess we just got a major upgrade! I have been to a lot of concerts but this by far has been my favorite. It was a special night out with my mom which turned into a dream. Love it! I hope he comes back to Birmingham, AL!!!! If you read this Prince...you are an Amazing entertainer!

He just never disappoints! I know I lost 3 lbs from dancing and sweating in my seat! Jonae Monell, Ledici, the inimitable Maceo (James Brown's drummer), a brass section, Prince jamming on and on top of the piano! The energy on stage and among the adoring audience was absolutely intoxicating. Best part was being picked to go on stage and dance with Prince and Rebuild The Dream (RTD) family. Prince is as generous as he is talented. The concert was a benefit for Van Jones' RTD, a project with a vision to rebuild our communities from the roots to the sky's the limit. Congratulations, Van! God has many blessings for those who are about a greater good. So party on! I have never missed a Prince concert tour in his long historic career. I hope I never do!

I enjoyed the concert. It was the best concert I had even been too; and I've been to many. I was apprehensive after reading reviews from the Monday concert but by Wednesday, all the kinks were worked out and it was perfect.I was on my feet from the time he took the stage to the last encore. Please, come back to Chicago soon. Don't wait 8 years again. One thing, I would have loved to hear "Darling Nikki."

Prince tore the roof off the United Center. He redeemed himself at the 3rd and last concert in Chicago. Janelle Monae and Ledisi accompanied him on stage. I love how he kept coming back for 3 encores. He did not sing Kiss, When Doves Cry or Adore. Prince said "Do you know how many hits I have"? We'll be here all night. Lol... I loved when he pulled people onstage to dance with him. Loved how videos of everyone that Prince ever produced played on the Jumbo Tron screens.

Nevertheless the gods and universe knew my hearts desires and tickets came available for his wednesday night show. And after rave reviews for tues show....I had to try and at 4am wed morning I became the proud owner of two Prince Welcome 2 Chicago tickets!!! One of my happiest moments... Let me tell u I sang and danced and screamed and shouted the whole night!@ Every moment was worth it and I truly enjoyed Prince and his sexy diva self :) If u ever get the opportunity.... Prince was forgiven for Monday night B4 i entered the arena. The show was amazing, although i came to love the Ole school Prince, i also came to love his new songs as well. Price looked good, healthy and above all he's a Blessed Artist. Having Jennifer Hudson a Chi town favorite was a nice added benefit. Prince on the guitar was AWESOME. I wore my brightest shirt to get seen by the artist, i was in sec 17 seat 1 but out didn't help. The ENCORES he did was truly appreciated, PURPLE RAIN, LITTLE RED CORVETTE, NOTHING COMPARES to Prince. I would definitely deer him whenever he come back to the Chi.

It has been a lifelong dream in my 26 years thus far to see Prince live in concert. I achieved this goal this past Monday as he returned to Chicago for the first time in eight years. As a seasoned audible fan, I was over the top excited. Some of my knowledge before the show included: Him NOT having an opener (who could ever warm the stage for the one and only), Limited song performances (with his religious affiliations, I didn't expect Sexy M.F., Darlin' NIkki, etc.) and his true androgynous diva-like nature (opened hour and a half after doors opened, 30-45 minutes before first encore, hour before second!) The encore was the best part of the show, where he performed a medley of hits, of course having too many to satisfy anyone! Some songs that rocked that house included: Purple Rain (of course!), Doves Cry, CREAM, Pope, Little Red Corvette, If I Was Your Girlfriend and Sign of the Times. I will and must see him again. As for the not so good parts, his band and backup singers did more singing and playing than he ultimately and the sound quality at the venue was "bogey" at best. All in all, to have had a lifelong dream come true for my listening and viewing pleasure, I am still trying to catch my breath while singing along to the ultimate Prince playlist in my head and heart.

After being so excited in the days leading up to the opening night concert, I admit being a little disappointed after the long wait, the horrible acoustics and the long and drawn out first hour. But I am such a fan, I quickly rebounded once Prince got into his groove late into the performance. I have never missed a Prince tour, EVER, and I never will. My only regret is that I didn't purchase tickets for all 3 nights and that I didn't exchange numbers with Jeremy from Denver.

True to form, Prince provided another great show. Played all of his hits as well as hit songs that he wrote for others. My only negative was the way the show ended Monday night. Lights went down, Prince said goodnight, and lights stayed off for over 30 minutes like he was coming back for an encore.....only it never happened. After a long wait in the dark, lights pop on and time to go home to a roar of boos. Never did get a good explanation to that one.

He was great. Monday show started over 80 min late. He came back for 2 encores even though he had an after party at the house of blues. I loved it. He had way to many hits to do them all. the background singers were truly talented, the band was great. The stage was awesome.!! The diverse crowd was truly a delight to be surrounded by. Nothing compares.

When I saw Prince on "The View" talking about this show in Chicago, I wasted no time in buying a ticket and flying in for an overnight trip all the way from Little Rock, AR, sans husband! I have been a lifelong fan, since his first album "For You" and although I've seen him 3 times before, I felt like this may be my last opportunity to see my Purple Man, since he doesn't perform as often. My Man DID NOT DISAPPOINT (aside from the show starting an hour late)!!! He LOOKED FANTASTIC!!! Sexy as ever, and doesn't appear to have aged since the 80's. He rocked most of his old hits, and several hits from other artists, such as Michael Jackson, The Time, Sheila E., Curtis Mayfield, and Vanity 6. He still had most of his famous sexy dance moves, except for the half-leg splits, but he still had it going on! He told us we needed to call our babysitters because we were going to be there all night, but after 2 encores, and what we thought would be 3 after waiting about 15-20 minutes chanting, "We want Prince! We want Prince!", he let us all go right after 11 pm. I sang, danced, screamed, and sweated the entire show, and it was so worth the trip to see my man! I wish I could have gone to all three performances, because it would take that many and more to get my fill of him, and for him to perform even half his songs! Oh yeah, it was pretty awesome that he had it "Purple Raining" in the United Center during the performance of this mega hit! PRINCE - I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU! THANK YOU FOR PERFORMING FOR ME ONE MORE TIME!!

Doors were to open at 5:30. They did not allow us in until after 7, said he was still in sound check. No opening act, but that was expected. Prince didn't get on stage until after 9. He let his back up singers or audience do most of the singing. The first night was not worth the price I paid. I heard he made up for it the next night. Disappointed and dishearted lifelong fan.

by Mercury To See This Legend is a Blessing First of All. I grew up in that generation and I'm so Proud I did!!! The Prince Welcome 2 America concert experience will have to fall in the category as one of the best preformed concert I have ever witnessed. From beginning to end Prince's stage presence, his feel for the audience and his command of each of his arrangements was a sheer stroke of musical genius. He out played and out preformed all musical artists of his genre. And I mean it when I say that "Boy was he pumped". He has the crowd on their feet screaming, crying, from his opening musical arrangement. through till his final encore. Prince was indeed a man on a mission as he hammered out crowd favorite all time hits one after the other. We dance, we sang , we clap. screamed, cheered and even shedding a tear as he left the building. Yes...it was unbelievably unforgettable!!!!!! Love This Sexy Ass Legend!!!!. 9/24/2012

I was visiting Montreal for a few days and saw that Prince was playing a late night show at the Metropolis, which is a 2,000 person venue. I scored a ticket and went to the show. It was by far, the best concert I have been to in my entire life. Prince came on at 11:30PM and played until 3:30AM - four hours straight of improvised funk and classic hits.... the crowd was ecstatic from start to finish. I've seen Prince before but always in an arena setting. To experience his four hour jam session up close and personal is something that I will never, ever forget. When I left the venue at 4am I felt like I had been a part of something that I may never experience again.... it was unquestionably, phenomenal.

Ok. So it was 1985 and I was 11 years old. I was in front of the TV watching the Let's get crazy video for the 20th time and was trying to immitate Princes moves at the end of the video. Since then Prince has been a distant memory for me. I heard he was coming to town and bought my wife a pair of tickets whose always loved Prince. She and her girlfriend went and they were blown away. I decided to go with her a week later with no expectation nor was I thinking that I would have a good time. Little did I know that I too would be blown away. I was thrown back to 11 years old and forgotten how great his music is. What I realize nearing 40 now is that this is the most talented artist I have ever seen. Hands down this was one of the best performances of any artist I have ever seen. I can't believe this guy is 52 years old. He looks just as good as he did in 85 and sounds even better. His music is way beyond its time and is as relevant as it was when it was released. Hopefully I will have the opportunity of seeing him again!

This was the 3rd time I have seen him since he's been in LA and all I can say is that I was left feeling breathless, satisfied and wanting more. When I walked into the Forum, there was a mellow feeling. No music videos playing, just serene videos of beaches and the ocean. I kinda thought - okay what's going on - but once the opening act (King) finished and His Royal Badness took the stage it was on and poppin! From the first song - The Love We Make - until the last, I couldn't contain myself. I still am reliving him singing Adore, Scandalous and Insatiable - tooo much! My gf and I kept saying "he is one bad.....shut yo' mouth" There are and will never be words to describe the experience of the final show! He brought it AND killed it! And only Prince can wear a fuschia silk blouse and leggings and its okay! Any other man would get kicked out with a quickness...but with him -its alllrriiight! I feel bad for anyone who missed his concerts while he was in town. 21 days of Prince - nothing can compare to that. EVER! And his final night was the BEST concert I have ever been too! Any concert that leaves me wanting more AND has my memory reliving the moment is saying something!

What an awesome show! After getting extremely lucky and snagging two tickets to the 11pm show, I was full of anticipation as we lined up to get in. Folks coming out from the 8pm show were gushing about Prince and his all female group, Third Eye Girl. It didn't fully prepare me for the 2 1/2 hours of non-stop musical dynamite I was about to experience! Prince quickly connected with the audience and swept us up into his "Purple World", as only he can do, showing his full array of skills on the mike, guitar and keyboards while giving his band plenty of opportunity to wow the crowd. There was no sitting from start to finish! And, when I thought it couldn't get any better...Stevie Wonder appears on stage and starts jamming with Prince! Outstanding! I left the show drained, soaking wet and supremely satisfied! The Purple One stills rocks!

First of all, I am an avid Prince fan so I'm already biased. Having said that, I had a wonder-filled time. Although our seats were almost touching the ceiling, I was able to see all of the action on stage. Prince played classics from 1999, Controversy, Purple Rain, I Would Die 4 U, The One, to How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore!!! I was in Purple heaven bathed in the light of a musical genius. Being it was a Rally 4Peace, Prince spoke to the audience, giving empowering advice. He brought Atty. Mosby on stage as well as having Freddie Gray's family join him on stage for the Dance Electric. He had guest appearances by Doug E Fresh, Miguel and Estelle. It was ALL ❤!!!

I had the opportunity to attend the HitnRUN Tour concert in Detroit April 9, 2015. It was one of the best concert experiences of life. It was quite difficult to obtain a ticket given the active demand and the process but I feel lucky to have gotten through online to purchase 1 ticket for a concert that was said to have sold out in <15 minutes. The classic Fox Theater provided outstanding sound acoustics to support the mastery of this group. Prince once again raised the bar to new heights of impromptu musical creativity with the humility of seasoned artist; he played and teased the audience with dynamic familiar musical motifs with compliments of hard rocking groove. 3RDEYEGIRL was impressive and enough can not be said about their pure talent . I would encourage everyone to attend and seize the opportunity. Outstanding! "Occasions are rare: and those who know how to seize upon them are rarer." H. W. Shaw

I bought my mom surprise tickets for Christmas (she's loved prince since she was 9, and is now 39, and I slowly began to become a Prince fan, during the weeks before the show. First of all, the venue was beautiful. Easy to get to, and great service. Mohegan sun arena in CT, is a highly recommended casino, and It was the perfect place to see a legend like Prince. Park easy, find GREAT food easily, And find your seat in one of America's greatest arenas. The opening act Esmeralda Spaulding, was incredible, and the sound and atmosphere was great. Prince hit the stage about a half hour later, and preformed the greatest concert I've ever seen! Absolutely no complaints. And to anybody thinking about seeing prince, DO IT, even over $200 per ticket, its worth EVERY penny. Will defiantly return to Mohegan sun arena, and see PRINCE, whenever he comes back....we'll be waiting!!!

I have been a Prince fan since I was 20. When I saw that he was going to be in concert near me I had to consider going. Although the ticket prices were skyhigh I decided this was a once in a lifetime chance. I figured there were a few artists that were worth it and I knew Prince would be one of them. I was so wrong. The show started badly when the opening act started 50 minutes late. She gave a good performance, I think. The sound and lighting was so poor that it was hard to really enjoy. After another LONG wait Prince finally took the stage. Again, the sound and lighting was so poor that I could not understand most of the words he was singing. In some cases I could not even figure out what the song was. While Prince did a nice long show and was very engaged with the audience that was it. No special lighting, no costume changes, so badly produced that it was hard to enjoy. A NICE show but not a spectacular show. Surely not worth the $200 spent to sit in upper level basketball stadium type seating. I thought at first that it might just be the venue but after discussing this with friends who have seen Prince in other locations I am sorry to say it is the show. In addition, Mohegan Sun was a real letdown. The seats were better suited to watching a basketball game, there was no valet parking available and they only allowed us to buy one drink at a time. That meant my 55 year old husband could get a drink for himself but not for me. This was a Prince concert. The youngest person in the room had to be over 30. I doubt I would attend another performance there.

As a longtime Prince fan I was super excited to go to this show especially at the Mohegan Sun Area which has such great acoustics. Janelle Monae opened the show; she was fantastic!! When she was done it was pretty guaranteed that she one over many new fans. During the set change we were entertained by and old school DJ set by none other the DOUG E FRESH!!! Then.....PRINCE!!!! He came right out and jammed! You could tell he was comfortable and having fun with the rest of us. He ran through many of his new songs and treated us to his classics. Prince did FOUR encores with the best one being "Purple Rain". It being on a Sunday night I know there were many tired people Monday morning but it was unforgettable and the Best concert I have ever been to.

I have seen Prince perhaps 4 or 5 times over the past 25 - 30 years. I've always en joyed his shows, though at one point he'd seemed to have lost his "edginess". Well, perhaps he's not as raunchy as he once was, but this guy can still play, can still sing, and puts on a hell of a show. Both I and my wife thoroughly enjoyed it!

First half of the evening was the opening act. Not a few songs, not a half hour, but a full concert, well over and hour of my life, by the opening act. I enjoyed the opening act, but it was not what I went there for. It was not what I paid to see. The concert ticket said PRINCE. I understand opening acts exist. I did not need to or deserve to spend half of my night with this one. Finally Prince comes on: JOY! Well, it would have been more joy if half of his half of the show wasn't dominated by the various lady singers he had. Not that they weren't good, they were fantastic!.... but they were not Prince. They were not where I would have wanted to spend over $200 each ticket (I brought my son) to see. So half of the evening was another band, and at least half of Prince's time on stage, it was lady singers who were also not Prince. Therefore, $50 of my ticket price was for Prince's 1/4 of the time singing/playing to me, and the other $150 I feel I could have NOT spent, since 3/4 of the entire show was not Prince. Prince puts on a good show. He did the songs I love (not all of them but a darn good amount of them) and he dances and does Prince-things, and I was loving seeing him for the time that I actually did see him. He sounded wonderful, his voice perfect, his pretty little smile made me so happy.... hearing his guitar my heart raced.... Did I enjoy the show? Yes, yes I did. But I was super frustrated about it. Especially the elongated opening act. I was tired as it was by the time I arrived. I would have enjoyed the opening act on ANY other day what was NOT on my special and expensive PRINCE TIME.

Prince the performer is awesome and the concert was great. But some of the concert execution was surprisingly fumbled. The show started very late with no explanation why. There was an opening act that no one was expecting which made for more questions about when Prince would start. The stage lighting was generally very low making it hard to see the performance. There were two large video screens and at least two video cameras but both were always in sync. Why not show two different camera shots at any one time? And the video was sometimes off - showing a different guitarist while Prince was performing the guitar solo. After the first and expecting a second encore, the house lights went up and everyone started filing out. But then the band started playing again and kept playing with the house lights on. Don't get me wrong. I loved the show and I admire Prince's talent. But the execution by the crew and arena staff was average at best.

I have seen Prince at least 6 times and he amazes me time and time again. He is so underrated for his guitar playing. He is by far one of the best guitar players...ever! He sang allot of old songs but also sang some new stuff which I also love. The man can do nothing wrong in my eyes. I will see him any time I can. He was born to do what he does best and that is to entertain! Prince will always be my "Private Joy!"

I have seen Prince live multiple times, from large stadiums (wembley), to small venues (paisley park) and like a good wine, he keeps getting better with age. The mix between the rock of 3rd eye girl and the funk of the npg was just right. He started with a 25 minute funk medley that just seemed effortless magic. Then stripped it down, because as Prince said " you like rock n roll" with some awesome guitar solos both from Prince and Donna. The only bad part of the night came after almost 2.5 hours when it came to an end. I could of carried on dancing all night.

The man is amazing! This was my 13th Prince concert and he never fails to deliver a show that reminds us why he IS the best musician in the business. Musicianship is on point and vocals still soar after almost 40 years. The NPG and 3rd Eye Girl were as tight as his Lovesexy band, which was his finest group of musicians, IMHO.

Ive seen Prince many times in the UK and also Montreux and was excited to be able to see him in Las Vegas last weekend. I went to the late night show which started at midnight. Great setlist which included some rare classics, the new band were ok. The sampler set should be been dropped to allow him to play more tracks live and longer versions too, even Purple Rain was terribly short with no guitar solo. The gig seemed to be cut short at 1am which annoyed lots of people - he played for just under 1 hour, and at $120 a ticket it wasn't worth it, especially as I once paid £25 for a 3hour aftershow. It was nice to see him but i was left overall disappointed and expected more

I would have rated this show an amazing 5 stars, but the stage lighting kinda killed it for me. This was my 5th time seeing Prince, and probably my least favorite experience. Not because Prince was bad by any means, but because of the frickin' bright blinding lights. I don't know if this was Prince's set up, or the venue itself, but it was terrible. I was there to see Prince perform, not a silhouette when I could catch one, all because a bunch of lights glaring in my face. I know it wasn't just me either, because as I looked around, I saw others shielding their eyes as well. The continuous strobe lighting was probably the worst part of the show. I would say that 50% of the show, I just closed my eyes and listened to the music. Again, not a bad thing, because Prince can rock the joint, and I really liked his new backing band too. Another little letdown from this show was the performance time. In past concerts Prince has always done a 2 hour set or more. This time he barely managed 90 minutes. Maybe that's because he had another set following, I don't know, but I'd have liked to have seen more. Overall the show was great! Prince played songs that he doesn't often cover, and he mixed it up on some of the versions he did do. If you were expecting all the hits exactly as you're used to hearing them on the radio, then this wasn't that show. If you've never seen Prince, and you like him, then get to one of his shows, I highly recommend it!

I've been a fan of Prince since I was a kid and was truly looking forward to this concert. I had heard that he might not sing the older songs but that just wasn't true :) I was really pleased with his performance, the back up singers were FINE, Jennifer Hudson was a pleasant surprise, & the multiple encores were a big plus. I also was very pleased with the non-profit vendors that were there and I was glad to assist in any way that I could. It was good of Prince to have them there and show how much he would like to help our communities. Overall, I give the concert an A+!

"Welcome 2 Chicago" was theee best ever. Prince feasted off the audience's energy and we feed off of him. My breath stopped with anticipation as the house lights went dim and the dangerous thunder and lightening sound introduced his next set. The" MAN was on FIRE." The opening act Janelle Monae was a mad bonus and Ledisi dropped in and adding her red hot flair to a stellar night....I can't say enough about that Confunction horn section. Maceo that bad sax player from James Brown's band was another surprise. Prince knows how to incorperate the old with the new and make it work. The best concert I've seen in a long time. Full of energy and surprises. Thanks Prince, come back soon.

Prince's show was probably one of the best concert's Ive been to in my life! We truly partied like it was 1999 and more! The atmosphere is electrifying; all ethnic groups came together for a common goal - to have an awesome time with the musical prodigy, Prince and the New Power Generation. Put on comfortable shoes because you'll be jumping around, singing, flailing your arms, slapping high fives, screaming, shouting, doing a call and response all night long! That's right! It's like THAT!!!! If you haven't seen the show, do yourself a favor! He will show you how it's really supposed to be done. I absolutely loved Prince. His concert was the best I have been to in all of my 31 years of living. I seen him once in Oakland, Ca this past February 2011 and just seen him again this past weekend in Inglewood Ca at the Forum, and I am going to see him again in my hometown, San Jose, Ca this Thursday. 3 times a charm!!!! I had the time of my life. Prince gets down on that guitar, piano, and all the other instruments he played. He is truely a genius!! I left both concerts in love with Prince and have been on cloud 9 ever since and can't stop talking about how good it was. If you get a chance to see him, you have to do it. Treat your self. His energy is wonderful, his singing is subpurb, he's dancing is brilliant. For years I have wanted to see Prince in concert and now I will have seen him 3 times in one year. How great is that! Since the first show I have started playing the bass guitar. Prince has inspired me to play. Thank you Prince.

This show was beyond our expectations. In fact it BLEW MY MIND!!!! Prince, Sheila E, Amel Larrieux, even Halle Berry got up and danced on stage; and of course the BEST drummers of all times - John Blackwell. Whoa!!!!! It was such a fun show, everyone was dancing and having a great time. It reminded me of my childhood so much - when Sheila E came out on stage and sang Glamorous Life - I wanted to cry because music reminds you of just how it transcends time and makes everyone unite and be happy. Thank you Prince for the Music and for such a great show. It was the best show I've ever been to. I've been a loyal Prince folllower since he started and make it a point to see him every time he hits LA. I took my son and daughter on May 6th and 14th, and he keeps getting better. I love the surprise guest appearances. I have recommended and invited people to see him, who have gone and loved the show. My son is a 17yo self-taught guitar player and he was mesmerized by Prince's skills. He was bummed we weren't in that section where Prince threw his guitar that night...he keeps saying, "I hope whoever got it will appreciate it." I also have a 19yo daughter who is disabled. She was a Bieber fan, but after seeing Prince that's changed!! We plan to see his last show (that will be our 3rd time). It's been great having him this accessible...LA loves him!!!!

LOVED LOVED LOVED the show! Sound was amazing!! The teasing 6 encores kind of annoyed me but once he started singing I forgot all about it. I would suggest that anyone who goes to see it not leave until the staff make you, because even after the lights were on and I watched him leave the stage and walk thru the underground tunnel, and was sure the show was over. I went to the curb to wait for my ride and couldn't believe when I heard the band playing: When Doves Cry, I Would Die For You, If I Was Your Girlfriend, and finally ADORE!! Prince was so off the chain last Saturday! Off all the Prince concerts I've been to over the years, that was the best! Esperanza Spaulding opened the show! Girl got down on the bass guitar & upright bass! I love women that play guitars, drums, piano & violins(so sexy & elegant at the same time!). Nicole from the pussycat dolls got up on stage & rock'd out a tune w/Prince. I knew Shelia E was across town at the Wavefest at the Greek but low & behold she showed up on stage and banged out the "Glamourous Life"! Brought the house down! She got much love from the crowd! My girl's favorite song and her 1st Prince concert "if I was your girlfriend" he did in full on 3rd encore! I clapped for 12 mins! I got my section clappin'! So awesome! I got to go back!..

The concert was amazing, everything I expected it to be. Loved seeing Sheila E. She's still got it, too. I only have a few disappointments: 1) He only teased me with some of my favorite Prince hits like Darling Nikki and Housequake. 2)He didn't end the show with one of his own songs. And 3) I just didn't want it to end. Security had to kick us out.
