We enjoyed only parts of this one man show. Some parts were crude, there was some profanity that didn't add anything to the show. Mostly the husband and I just couldn't relate. The people behind us had a lot to drink and roared quite loudly so we knew it was funny to some people. Just not us. The caveman connection was just strange.

Love going to the City Theatre for afforable events. I've always wanted to see Defending the Caveman and finally got the chance when Ticketmaster offered advanced tickets. I really love the ending of the play when the actor reminded us women that the men in our lives just want to take care of us.

They say that truth is funnier than fiction, and this show is a great example. Every man or woman will recognize themselves in this show. And when you do, you will spend the entire time laughing at yourself. This was a fun date night with my husband. It gave us some things to talk about, and made us appreciate each other more. How can that not be a good thing?

The show was hysterically funny from beginning to end. My wife and I went with another couple and we all enjoyed the show and are glad we went. Many "truths" were spoken by the caveman and were presented with great comedic style. The body language and the facial expressions of the caveman were outstanding. For the price of the ticket, we got a really great return on our entertainment dollar. We totally recommend the show to others - especially married couples.

I saw this show when it first came our on Broadway and thought it was incredible! There was a lot of information and it seems evolutionary explanations for how we behave today. This hilarious show takes place in a small theater, so all seats are good. The show begins with a short film of the star and his wife in funny situations. The rest of the show is a long monologue about relationships and how men and women approach the world and their interactions with it differently, to great comic effect. There is use of some props and staging. Be aware that there is some adult language used, but not gratuitously, in very realistic ways. If you are looking for great comedy for about an hour, you should definitely see this show.

The show was interactive throughout, and he had impressive and thoughtful insight into both the male and female psyche. My husband and I kept looking and smiling at each other knowingly when he'd hit on one of our hot buttons - which seemed like almost every one. In hindsight, a lot of what he said seems like common sense, but I guess if no one actually takes the time to explain it to you, its not something you actually consider. The different ways of communication, the different abilities of each gender is all something we already know, but the way he presents it really makes us realize that its okay that we're different, and that we should appreciate each others strengths and compensate for each other when challenged. In fact, I would highly recommend this show for the soon to be married, newly married and even the long-haulers because it helps us to see each other in a more flattering light, and helps us to further develop the tools to foster each other's strengths. Plus its just plain funny. It touches on real issues, and if you listen carefully (and have an interest in improving your relationship), you can gain valuable insight and begin to change your concept of your partner's "annoying" habits immediately. My favorite moment was when he said he was "selling monogamy in Sin City", and I realized this was more than a comedy show, and perhaps that is why it has lasted so long.

This is the 3d time I've seen this show. Absolutely love the humorous details every time. We always take friends to share in the fun. Seats at the Warner are woefully tight, and shabby looking, compared to the ornamental decor on the ceiling and walls. We had to spread out to have an empty seat next to us.

This one caveman show was as hilarious as it was insightful as it revealed the differences between men and women. From the very start of the show, the laughs flowed naturally from the audience as we all saw ourselves portrayed in social situations in our roles as caveman (Hunter) and cavewoman (Gatherer). Throughout the show, couples would look at each other and laugh at how they related directly to the situations portrayed on the stage. A great belly laugh of a show that is a must see for couples of all ages. One issue with the technical side of the performance; his microphone would cut out frequently during the show and we would miss a word or two each time it happened.

There's always a chance of someone getting offended whenever comparing the two sexes, but not in this show. Vince Valentine's comparison was refreshing and hilarious and SO TRUE! He examined the unique "culture" of each sex, with all its values and virtues. Many of his examples were so true to life you couldn't help but nod your head and agree. Being a woman, I really have to say that we need to stop being so judgmental of the opposite sex. They accept us as different; we should do the same (and stop trying to change them). That's what we have girlfriends for! Great evening of entertainment!

The show definitely had its laugh moments and made you think about our differences -- men and women. The start was a bit stiff though and the show had an overall feeling of being a bit too rehearsed. It lacked the "live" feel that good live comedy brings and an authentic relationship with the audience.

First of all, this is the best one man show I've ever seen. Period. The interaction level with the audience is enough to make it a personal show but not so much as to put the pressure of being funny on the audience. The show leaves you grinning ear to ear.

This was a great show and I loved the comedian. He seemed like a genuine guy trying to support his family and support good causes close to his heart - such as the Officer Down fund which supports families of officers that have died in the line of duty. Some humor, but nothing that has not been said or expressed over the years. We had some chuckles but did not find it truly funny, entertaining or expressive with new humor. Delivery of jokes/puns/explanations were okay, but may have more impact if handled or delivered differently. There were some shots to/with the audience that were delivered and received well. Overall, I would not see the performance again. Neither my wife or myself thought it would be something to recommend to our friends or family. The biggest enjoyment of the evening, was the time spent with my wife for date night.

What a disappointing evening. This was 1one and a half hours of standup comedy that wasn't very funny. Imagine expecting some kind of acting and getting bored to death by a one man wrecking ball. I just kept waiting for the act to get better, for the time to pass faster, to laugh, and it never happened. Why idin't the producer of this skit take a page from "I Love Lucy" and act out the comedy lines? Skip the CAVEMAN, go to Harrah's. At least the machines are entertaining. they take your money faster, , and you can leave the casino any time that you want.

Very insightful and laugh out loud funny look at how men & women view daily events and relationships through very different prisms.Show capotured God's sense of humor in making human procreation dependent onthe joining of these two physically,, emotionaly and intellectualy different beings, then tossing speech into the mix. Amoeba's may be more efficient at reproducing,, but not as interesting. The show shone a humorous light on the experiences my wife and I have lived through for 33 years, and are looking forward to laughing about during the next 33. The show did not have any of the crudeness many comics have when discussing the interacvtions between men and women.

As a woman who prefers the company of men over women, I recommend this to straight women who don't understand how the male brain works. Men and women ARE different. My husband and I both laughed throughout the show and nugged each other because it's right on- I have a feeling we'll be relating to it for a long time to come. Just yesterday we were driving in the car and I told him something- a minute later, he asked me a question about what I had just said!!! "FOCUS.... " I told him. Not only is it funny, but it's true! It's makes you give your spouse a break when he/she does something would normally agravate you! Great reminder of how we are just wired differently and sometimes we just need to cut the other sex some slack. I highly recommend it!

For a one hour show on a little comedy stage it's overpriced. Not what I expected from a Las Vegas Act. It was funny, I do have to say, but they purposely make it look like the back is sold out when buying tickets, which forces you to buy the slightly more expensive tickets closer to the tiny stage, the house was barely half full. Overpriced tiny drinks as well and the seating was somewhat uncomfortable.

Extremely funny show. He really hits right on target on the differences in men and women. We now laugh at our behaviors as we relate to the things we do as explained in the show.

Show was very good, laughed A LOT!! My wife now understands me a little better. Laughter is therapeutic: As newlyweds it was great to laugh at things we were experiencing. The hunting and gathering concept explained (or justified:))why I was shopping and trying to get our new home in perfect order. My husband finally gave in to the understanding that certain towels were for our guests....that still haven't visited.

Ok, there were parts that I actually was crying I was laughing so hard, but there were also parts that I was sitting there thinking "really?" and kind of rolling my eyes. Overal I would actually give this 3.5 stars because of the lulls in the laughter. My husband is now driving me nuts saying his behavior is because he is a hunter, which if you see the show, you'll know what I mean. Unfortunately, it seemed to give him an excuse to act poorly...

The show was pretty good. Definitely a good description Of modern day relationships between men and women. At times the dialog Was a bit slow, so don't go if you are prone to dozing off. Overall my husband and I enjoyed it, and still joke about parts.

Probably the worst comedian I have seen. Seldom did any of the audience laugh though out the whole 1 hour performance.

Very enjoyable monologue. He was spot on with his observations of the differences between men and women and relationships. It was nice to have a good laugh and not have to suffer profanities and raunchiness.
