I have seen this show at least 6 times over the last 20 yrs. and this was the best one yet. The actors and the set were great. To add to the experience we had perfect seats. Great job by this troop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The performance was continuous high energy. The performers were not only perfect in harmony selections, but all had wonderful voices in their solos, as well. All in all, an entertaining look back at 50s shtick and wannabe boy bands.

Having seen the original Forever Plaid, I looked forward to this performance. I was not disappointed. It was funny, sad and unforgettable. I have recommended it to all my friends. When I heard that the play was going to be at the Gem, I decided it was the best birthday present I could give my friend. She said it was.

I took my ' young' mid-60ish parents to the show. It felt so good to see them laugh and sing for two hours. The performers were very polished - every scarf handoff, dance move, and bell ring was perfectly executed. Their voices were lovely and it was a pleasure to listen to them.

My husband and myself were very impressed with "Forever Plaid". We have been to previous holiday shows at the Gem, but this one was one of the best!!!!! The holiday music was much more prevalent in this show than in past. Would highly recommend it.

The show was great, and the four fellows in it were awesome! The only downside to the evening was that we were disappointed it started so much later than the 8PM time listed. It didn't begin until 8:20-8:25.

Absolutely amazing, entertaining and moving!!!!!! We loved every moment of it. So great to have, see and hear such great actors with beautiful harmonious voices blending together to make wonderful music in our dear city of Detroit . And the solos were equally as well done. Amazed that your understudy did such an outstanding job as Frankie. Kudos to him. In fact, bravi a tutti, including the musicians. We've already spread the word to our friends to be sure to see you-all. Thanks for an afternoon of such wonderful entertainment!

Saw the original in Toronto, and this holiday version was just as good. Got great seats right in front of the stage, and the Gem Theater is pretty small to begin with, so it seemed a very intimate setting. The performance was funny, and the harmonies were incredible. I laughed out loud at some of the Rosemary Clooney dance numbers (especially "fever"). I admit we were some of the few under 50 at the performance, but the youngsters are just missing out! All in all a very nice night and great performance.

The performers and the material are excellent. The Gem theater is a beautiful place and worth seeing on its own. I laughed so hard sometime that I missed the next line or two. All have beautiful voices and were great performers. WELL DONE!! BRAVO

Plaid Tidings picks up where the original 'Forever Plaid' leaves off, and moves into the holiday season with humor, musicality and gleeful enthusiasm. Recommended for all ages, with special applicability to those with fond memories of the music of the 1950's.

The performers were very talented but the story line was terribly lacking. We were looking forward to great musical entertainment but so much time was spent on script that was very boring and little time spent on music that we found the overall performance very boring and left at the intermission. It was a great disappointment as the vocalists and musicians were very talented and could have put on an exceptional show had it not been for the interference of a poor script and story line. While we have enjoyed many excellent performances at the Gem Theater, we would not recommend this one.

I can't tell you how long this performance was because I never thought to look at my watch. That is very unusual for me. We attended a 3:00 PM mate nae with some friends from Toronto. I purchased these tickets not sure of what to expect and my 88 year old mother, my sister in her 60's and a friend and I in our 50's enjoyed the nostalgia of the venue as much as the talented, energetic enthusiasim of the Cast. The vocal's of the cast were outstanding ! We loved the music from yesterday and oh what wonderful memories this play brought back for all of us. We laughed till we cried ! This is a Great way to get in the Holiday Spirit for all generations. Also the last time my Mother had been in the GEM Theatre was on her wedding day over 64 years ago and we are so glad the theatre is being maintained so well !

Two couples, friends from the 60's, had a remarkable evening filled with laughter when we attended Forever Plaid. The cast sparkled with great musical and comedic performances. Their interplay with the audience left all the theatre-goers feeling like we were part of the family. Forever Plaid is a great musical comedy. I've seen it three time with three different casts, and while one cast may be better than another, the play itself has always been great. It is consistently funny, the music is entertaining, and there are some sweet heartfelt moments as well. And it has something to appeal to all ages.

What a wonderful way to spend an evening! They were simply marvelous. I feel I may have missed a few antics as it seemed there was always something going on the stage. They pulled the audience in as they sang songs from our youth. They reminded us all why we loved The Ed Sullivan show. Fabulous voices! The gentleman sitting next to me said it was his fourth time to see the show. I totally get it.

I SAW THE PRODUCTION AT PROCTORS THEATRE IN SCHENECTADY NY. MY FRIEND AND I LAUGHED THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PERFORMANCE. THIS IS MY 3RD TIME SEEING THIS SHOW--ONCE IN CA AND IN ALBANY NY. The show was fantastic! Even the husbands loved it - which surprised me because they are not much into musicals. But this was a musical like no other. These guys were phenomenal! The only drawback were the directions on the Meadowbrook site to the amphitheatre. I dont know who wrote those but we drove around for 45 minutes before finally finding the threatre ON Squirrel Road! Other than that we followed the directions exactly and ended up at some construction site. However, we fortunately had given ourselves plenty of time and were happy we went because it is one of the best musicals I have ever seen.

Not what I expected. Much too expensive for that show. Told at first that it was all sold out so went thru ticketmaster and paid way too much. Especially disappointed to see 4 rows ahead of me practically all empty and rows behind me very empty. How could it have been all sold out for Saturday, February 1st with so many empty rows? Not a very happy camper!

Very talented actors who can sing in HARMONY, dance, juggle, and have impeccable timing with each other for jokes give a great performance of songs and events that they are too young to remember but the audience does and Forever Plaid brings back many fun and great memories of my youth. This was my second time to see Forever Plaid, and I was not disappointed. The entire production was fantastic! Particularly, the four singers pulled off the tight harmonies needed to make this show work, as well as the comedic chops to keep the audience laughing. The song variety calls for a virtuoso pianist and bass player, and those roles were filled well. The show would be entertaining for any age, but those of us who grew up in the 50's and 60's would definitely be taken back in time. If you get the chance, see a production of Forever Plaid!

I didn't know the majority of the music as it is VERY early 50s rather than the later 50s familiar tunes. That being said, it was darling and beautifully harmonized. We have seen Forever Plaid before. The prior performance was more lively and less talking & goffiness! Second half picked up the pace, but the ending soliloquy was much too lengthy and brought the pace down to become morbid and goofy again. Performers were very good, but the show was not something I would recommend. The opening "churchy" scene was very morbid. The songs could have been better...The theatre was much too cold and very uncomfortable.
