Seeing all the competition leading up to the televised event is great. On the other hand, the benching area, acknowledging the construction at MSG, took away from the enjoyment

It was remarkable to be able to walk down around the benching area and play with the dogs, watch them being groomed, etc. I was also amazed to be able to get so close to the judging rings !

WKC Dog Show was a fun event. We attended both Monday and Tuesday evening. Loved seeing all the puppies! Tuesday afternoon we went to the Piers and got up close with the puppies! Loved every second of that! I was in heaven. I would definitely suggest going to the daytime judging at the Piers. If I attend in the future, I will make sure to get an all access pass and go to the Saturday events as well.

This was my first dog show. I planned this as a combo Birthday/Valentine present for my wife and I think I was the one most amazed. The Dogs were wonderful, the presentation was excellent, and the people could not have been nicer. You should make this part of your bucket list...unless you are a cat person...lol

Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show was wonderful to watch from MSG. My 3rd time, no complaints. You can see good even from the cheap seats. The Carnegie Deli food available at the MSG helps make it a real New York experience!

Until Westminster modifies its standards for dogs so that they're not designed to guarantee that the same old dogs favored by Upper East Side matrons win almost every year, the show will be nothing more than a venue for promoting certain breeds -- especially the Beagles, Bichons, etc. -- over the dogs that the vast majority of American families love. People cheer madly for the Goldens, Labs, Bloodhounds, Great Danes, St. Bernard's, Bulldogs, etc., knowing full well that none of them have a chance to win Best in Show. This year's Best in Show judge has judged the event 9 times. When she stopped in front of the Bichon for an extra second or two the first time she gave the finalists a look, it was obvious to all of us at that moment that the Bichon would be chosen the winner. Westminster needs new judges for Best in Show, as well as a modification of standards. Otherwise, Westminster will continue to produce winners who have been bred and raised since birth to be highly trained, no-personality, mechanical dogs.

I loved being at the show. It was incredible to see all the best if the best. Would come again for sure. I would hope the Garden would figure a better way to get folks out afterwards. They turned off the escalators and we waited a long time for the elevator that never showed up. In a fire, people would die. A very bad situation they need to remedy.

The show is situated on the Piers and is compact and enjoyable. Complimentary coffee is provided by the AKC first thing in the morning which is s nice touch. Rings run smoothly and there is ample room to see the dogs on benches. Owners/breeders are very friendly ....some professional handlers are not so. Madison Square Gardens hosts the best of groups and best in show. It is a huge venue and alarmingly the escalators do not operate on the way out, so it is a long walk down. The group judging is prolonged and not very slick. It is a very long day for the dogs especially on the night when it finishes just before midnight. Meet the dogs is chaotic, so crowded and noisy, not good for the digs. Too many people in too smaller place. As for tickets by ticketmaster, ensure you have your receipt and challenge if they try to charge you again. Starting times need checking

If you want to literally be in the best mood of your life, then go to this dog show. I think everyone who attended left with a sore jaw like I did from smiling for 4 hours straight. The meet & greet before is a must so you can see the dogs prepping before they come out to the stage. It's so amazing and adorable!

This was a really fun thing to check out, but I was kind of annoyed with the constant commercial breaks that took place. The video footage that was played on the jumbotron during breaks was sub-par, so it's not like you had something entertaining to watch.

Was my first time going to the WKC dog show and I smiled through the entire event! If you're either a dog owner or dog lover, this is a must do event. It was so fun to interact with all the various dog breeds (some of which are not typically seen as house pets) as well as speaking with the owners and handlers about the specific characteristics of each dog.

While my friends and I enjoyed the show, I have to say that the MSG big screen and MC broadcast including Audio/Visual was terrible. Half the time the activity was not shown on the screen...names were not shown...one clearly got the impression the folks running the A/V, etc. were poor at best. I enjoyed watching it on TV more the Monday night than having to sit through such a poor showing right there in person.

For dog lovers, this show is a must! So many wonderful dogs.. So tender, so beautiful, so classy, and I can keep using adjectives.. At the end, 6 wonderful dogs and a hateful Pekinese. I so agreed with the Reserve Best in Show to the Irish Setter.. such a beautiful specimen.. and I could have given best in show to either German Sheperd or Boxer. They both excel. The other three were also superb. Loved the show!

The show looks fun when one watches on television, and being there is kind of fun for the first 45 minutes, but it is long and tedious. Sitting around during tv commercials and watching ads and promos on the big screen gets old fast. Save your money and watch from home. Your money is better spent going to the judging during the day and just watching the night time events from MSG on television.

My boyfriend and I had so much fun at the show. We arrived early, around 6:00 and were able to the demonstration rooms where the dogs were kept to see them. We were able to take pictures, speak with the handlers and event pet some pups! It became very crowded at one point and it was difficult to move...seeing as this is New York I felt a few shoves while people went by me, so that was the only downside. The show itself was amazing! I loved being there live as you really got to hear the crowds reactions while they oh'ed and aw'ed and cheered for their favorite pup. A lot of people asked me if it was boring - NO! As long as you are there with someone you enjoy, you make conversation during the commercial breaks. It was a relaxed environment in that way because it wasn't like a sports game where you can only get out of your seat a few times a game. If you are in GA, don't come late...the seats fill up to the brim. Highly recommend as a great date idea!

The show was fabulous, as always. Unfortunately, this year Fox Sports covered it, and it was a disaster. The announcer from the show must have been "held" until after the announcer from Fox spoke. It was very disconcerting. Also........... at some times, the video portion of their show was up on the screen, but NO audio. And, we had to wait for long periods of time when NOTHING was happening.............. and we realized we were being held up while Fox had advertisements. Ive been to the show when a major TV station was covering the show, and we never had this problem. Very disappointed, as I took a client of mine to the show, and it disappointing because of this. BUT, I loved the show.

Great if you love dogs. good for family. However the evening shows went on WAYYYY TOO LONG...with long pauses while commercials took place on TV. 3/4's of way through evening, the energy in crowd had disappeared. At that point, would have voted for a hamster.

Attended the Westminster for the 1st time, after watching it on TV every year without exception since 1993. Being able to meet the dogs and owners personally at the Piers was a fascinating experience, as all the owners are eager to educate all who will listen about their breed. As good as the televised event is about sharing breed trivia, you cannot possibly top this first hand, unedited exposure that comes from an up-close and personal relationship. Do not miss out on this experience!

I wish I would have bought tickets to Monday's event, but I only saw the Best in show. It was a fantastic experience and I will be going in 2017. I only think that the area where you can meet the dogs before the competition was an overcrowded nightmare. Too many people to see these majestic dogs. Just not enough space. Or have a way to have 2 lines to see the animals.

LOVED going to the Westminster Dog Show! Especially enjoyed going to The Piers and seeing the dogs up close! Food was surprisingly good for concession stand but there could have easily been more seating and lounging opportunities. We didn't get a seat the entire first day but lucked out to sit for lunch the second. Also, can it be suggested to the crowd not to hoard ring seats for the entire day? I'm sure you've tweaked this over the years and have offered best case scenario BUT feel viewing around the rings could be improved. Slightly raised platforms for standing that are up against the walls would allow a better view over people standing on the floor. Foot traffic would be in between platform and people on the floor. Also, the flat screened TV's of breed competitions could be higher up for people that can't get close. Food for thought...

The incredible dogs, the pomp and circumstance, the wonderful venue and the time honored tradition that is the Westminster Dog Show: all the reasons you must attend and more. This will now be our annual tradition and one to which I will recruit friends, family and clients for years to come. Our seats in general admission were perfect and, with the individual tv monitors in front of us, we could see all the dogs close up. By all means, go to the Westminster Dog Show and bring the whole family.

The Westminster Kennel Club dog show was superb. I recommend spending the money for the go-anywhere pass and go to the Piers for the daytime breed judging. The Piers are spacious and less crowded, so you are able to spend time with the benched dogs, talk to owners/breeders and get plenty of pooch pictures. The shuttle back to Hotel Pennsylvania is an added bonus. Getting to see the breed judging gives you a whole new appreciation for the breed winners when they step out onto the arena at night at Madison Square Garden for the group judging. Also, the bench area at the Garden is very crowded and it's difficult to get close enough to see the dogs; you basically just get pushed along in the crowd. The Piers is the way to go.

My girlfriend and I went mostly for people watching, the dogs were an added bonus. We went downstairs to see the "benching" or the dogs that are being groomed and pampered before their big moment. It was awesome and definitely the highlight even though it was jam-packed. The crowd was awesome with their collective gasps and awes. All in all I would recommend it to fans of the movie Best in Show and people from the mid-west that wear dog shirts non-ironically.

The show was well paced. The roar of the crowd when certain favorites acted out mannerism not appropriate for their style.. BUDDAH, loveable with flappy jowls, created a tremendous response from the crowd, with the welsh corgi a second best favorite whom all loved on sight.. The lady in blue judging of BEST IN SHOW was most professional.A job well done.

I recommend it to all dog-lovers and even those less kean of owning a dog. One of my 2 favorites, the Airedale Terrier and the beautiful Bichon Frisé won 1st place in her group, my son's favorite, the Afghan came in 2nd place.

This is great entertainment for the whole family. Reasonably priced for two full days of fun. Get up close and personal with the wonderful dogs, but stay away from the people in the show--they are mostly rude and snobby, not at all appreciative of the fans, though a handful were very gracious and pleasant. Was a little cramped in the benching area this year because they were renovating the venue, but still fun to be able to get up close and personal with the dogs. If you go next year, bring a camera and don't dress too warmly as it is very hot inside.

Probably one of the more exciting events I've ever been to. This show has been on my "bucket list" for 30 some years and I finally made it. Never in a million years did I think I'd ever get the opportunity to spend hours in the "Benching Area" just hanging with the owners, handlers and pooches. Beauty in motion, the dogs were positively beautiful, watching the handlers make their dogs move with grace, and grooming with complete patience and care to every detail. It was a moment I had lived to witness with my naked eye. I really loved going to the benching area and meeting the dogs and their handlers. I had the chance to cheer for my favorite dogs and meet new friends as I looked on during the live show on Monday. The toy and non-sporting group is one of my favorite. This was my first time at the Garden and Westminster Kennel club. I was there as an Exhibiter. Though I was very nervous at first we did well and pulled through. we did'nt get a placement, but the experience was one of a lifetime. Though it was a bit crowded in the benching area and hot my dog was a bit stressed when we got out into the rings. but he has never been to such a huge venue, with it's bright lights, loud fans, carpeted floors this was also his first time. I just wish it were'nt so hot back in the benching area and that we did'nt have to stay benched for 14 hrs. long day...

This is a piece of heaven on earth for dog lovers. Impossible to miss! So many dogs! The owners and handlers are friendly and patient. The organization keeps improving every year. Ticketmaster works like magic! My sister and I have been going for 7 years in a row! My only recommendation is to have the app of the show available internationally. THe first wo apps were offered trhough the app store and we could download them. Now, it is through iTunes and it is only available in the United States. This is unfortunate. The app is very useful for many things. not only the calendar of events but also the breeds, information about them, pictures, mmany things. I hope they make it available worldwide again.

Both nights at MSG took WAAAAAY too long made worse by very cramped MSG seating. The audio/visual sync with FS1 was horrible, particularly the interviews with the judges. And then to turn off the down escalators after the event was just ridiculous. it was explained to us that MSG is worried about liability if someone takes a tumble, creating a pile up, but as a retired safety professional, I know there are ways to mitigate these risks. And paying $65 considering all of the above just isn't worth it.

My wife and I decided to attend, to check off one of her "to do list" items. Although like many people we disagreed with the judges choices every once in a while (especially Best in Show, but we're just dog lovers not skilled trained judges) we had an OUTSTANDING time. What a wonderful event. Our only regret is that we hadn't done it sooner. We had great seats with a great view and easy access to the "necessities" at an event like this. One of the things we were really looking forward to was the opportunity to go "behind the scenes" to see the dogs and the grooming. Unfortunately it was so overly crowded that you could barely get through the isles, and you couldn't see the dogs in their kennels because with that many people there, the view was blocked. It was quit a disappointment It needs to be better planned for better "traffic flow". That being said, we still definitely plan on trying to attend this dog show again. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The daytime at the Piers allows us to get so close to the judging that even we can see the differences between the animals that judges look for. And visiting dogs and breeders/owners in the benching area remains one of our favorite things to do. This year's vendor area was a LOT smaller tho, and that was a disappointment.

These animals are so well taken care of, beautiful furs, and teeth, and ugh! just so poised! We had great seats and were able to see everything up close. Some hilarious moments when the little pups don't wanna cooperate, there was one dog who kept biting into the jacket of his owner as they ran down the floor (he left the treats in the side pocket) it was so funny to watch as the owner's hopes of winning withered away. Overall a good show, but I'd add music during down times, there's a lot of down time.

Madison square garden is a wonderful venue! The Garden for Westminster is a once in a lifetime experience for dog lovers! I recommend the 100 sections. Great viability.

Everyone, especially dog lovers, should attend this event at least once. There is such energy at MSG when you sit there live.

Always fun and a wide array of beautiful dogs. The pier portion of the show is enjoyable, too.

This was an exciting event for me. I love dogs and always loved Westminster. The show was awesome. Our seats were great. We had a tv so we could see up close. There was an opportunity to meet the breeds and handlers which was nice. The only complaint I had was there needs to be better organization w traffic flow. It was very overwhelming and tight. You could hardly get to any of the dogs to see without selfies being taken or fans hogging the area. If you want to know about a certain breed contact a breeder. Other than that, it was a great evening for the dogs.

Loved the show! Was able to go downstairs to see the dogs close up. Wish there was someone there to direct the crowd flow. Will be going next year -both day!

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog show (the second longest continually running sporting event in the U.S., the first being the Kentucky Derby) was very interesting. It was great seeing all those wonderful dogs. The only complaint is that the poodle should have won Best in Show.

It was great to see beautiful, healthy dogs and often get to pet them. BUT the benching areas at MSG were poorly arranged and too crowded. More space would let the benches stretch out farther. Two rows of benches with a single wide aisle would allow the fans to move without shoving through crowds headed the opposite way, and let one see the dogs. I'm not sure the all access pass offers many advantages.

The event at Madison Square Garden was great. But the breed Judging at the piers was alittle disappointing because of the seating. There was definitely not enough seating to begin with and then people saved seats,so there were alot of empty seats with coats on them and hundreds of people standing and not able to see.Because there is an admission fee I would expect better accommodations.

First time attendee. Especially enjoyed walking through grooming areas. Dogs were wonderful, as were most owners/handlers. Learned a lot. Evening shows were great even though our seats were way upstairs. For some reason Madison Square Garden did not run the escalators on the way down, so we walked them. Hard on old knees.

Thank you Westminster Kennel Club and MSG for hosting such a well-run, fun event. MSG is to be commended for such well trained, courteous staff. Our group required elevator access to our 200 level GA seating, and had cheerful help at every turn. The renovated venue is a huge improvement, and the new upscaled concessions are a pleasant surprise. I went in assuming I wouldn't eat until after the event, but the options were fresh, tasty, non-greasy food I wanted to eat.

I went with my daughter to Westminster on Tuesday and we loved this show. My daughter was a junior handler and is so into dogs. She works with dogs all the time and has brought many of our dogs to titles in Obedience and has taken them to conformation and has many titles as well. We both really enjoyed the show and I really loved the beagle who won!. She was perfect! We also went to the piers to see the dogs in the rings before the show and had an incredible day in Manhattan altogether. We live on Long Island out East so we took the train to Manhattan. Again we had an amazing time at Madison Square Garden watching the AKC dog show and all the other preliminaries earlier.

It is a fabulous event! Very well organized. My sister and I have participated 4 years in a row and we have seen improvements every year. The only complaint is that you offered pre sale tickets at a reduced price, back in September. We took advantage of it. But, they were at the GA area, which is very far. We would have preferred to pay more for a better spot. You should pre sale better seats than these. The service ticketmaster provides is excellent!

The digs were really cute however, I feel like there is a more unique way ofnoresenting the winners of the dog show. Also, a special guest like a singer should have came and entertained the audience even for just a single number.

I purchased the two day pass which was a great deal! However, having the event in two locations (piers 92 & 94 and also at Madison Square Garden) is not very accessible friendly to the attendees who have disabilities. The event is always held in February and this year (2015) had some of the coldest days! Accessible taxis are few and far between so I was unable to make it to the piers to see the benching areas there, Due to the reconstructed Garden, it was very tight with traffic trying to see the Breed winners in the evening. I would highly recommend attending the show to anyone who is a dog lover and interested in getting more information about specific breeds. The handlers were very informative and knowledgeable about their breed.

The event was fun and interesting. The ability to visit the dogs prior to the show was fantastic. We were able to play with and see how friendly all of the dogs were. The show was interesting and the ability to watch the dogs perform gave us an insight into how well trained the dogs were and seeing the temperament of the dogs prior to the show made the event that much more interesting.
