Kaiser Chiefs

KAISER CHIEFS IN CONCERT:British rock outfit Kaiser Chiefs have been burning bright ever since rising to fame as part of the UK's post-punk revival scene in the early '00s. What an amazing show!! The Kaiser Chiefs played with a punk infused energy that's captivating. It was such an amazing experience to see them in such a small venue as they're more likely to fill arenas back in Europe. I can't wait for the next tour!!!

The Kaiser Chiefs played a great set to a small, but energetic crowd on a Sunday night. The National was eerily empty, however the band delivered an exciting high-energy set of their most popular tunes. The crowd seemed to know the words to nearly all the songs and sang along throughout the night. A great time. An appreciative crowd. The band deserved better.

What a fantastic show. The venue was surprisingly well organized, and we had a blast. Ricky, as always, really sold the show, and the opening act wasn't bad either!

Even though he had a hoarse voice during the performance, you could sense that he was trying to do his best during the whole act and the people responded in good way for that effort. Probably beacuse of the throat problem that night the show was a little short for a band that has 4 albums, they only played around 13 songs total; the setlist was pretty good though. The rest of the band played their part and save the night, specially the drummer (whom is one of the leaders of the group) that help in the vocals during many songs, giving some rest to Rocky Wilson (the lead vocals).

Taking the stage after the intro to Money for Nothing, the KC put on a blistering 90 min show. The new material blended in perfectly with the old, as the crowd sang and chanted through every song.Ricky Wilson was in fine form, whipping the crowd into a frenzy as he leapt about the stage and made his customary charge to the bar for a few shots. Andrew Whites guitar work was stellar as was the keyboards of Nick Baines. The rythm section kept everything pounding along nicely. After a rousing Oh MY God , they were gone, leaving everyone wanting more. Can"t wait for their next show!

Amazing concert in Chicago. One of the best I've been to. Ricky Wilson is an unbelievable performer; have no idea where he gets all the energy! They did a nice mix of their best old and new songs; good connection with the audience; thankfully no light show or gimmicks, so it was possible to just enjoy the music and the lyrics. Would recommend highly to anyone.

This show was amazing. I've wanted to see the Kaiser Chiefs for about 4 years, but have never been able to before now. They rocked every song, and looked to be having a blast while doing it. The singer Ricky Wilson was constantly moving and provided non stop energy to the crowd. That being said every one in the band did an amazing job, playing with skill and professionalism that was wonderful to experience. The Chiefs played almost all of the favs, and did a good job mixing in some of their newer songs. I particularly liked "Little Shocks" from their newish album, and a song called "Listen to Your Head" which they have not released yet (youtube it for some live recordings, it looks to be a good one) Additionally I feel it is worth noting that the opening act Empire (who forgot to introduce themselves), was also amazing. When they came out, it almost felt like they were the main band. very good synergy with the Chiefs too. The House of Blues in Chicago, is an amazing venue. This was the first time I'd been there, and I was impressed to say the least. It's not huge as places go, but there's a deceptive amount of room. It's a beautiful building, and allows for a very intimate experience with the band. i was about 25 feet from the stage, but others were right at the front. Also the acoustics are AMAZING!! something you don't necessarily find in all venues. All in all it was an amazing show that is vying for the best show I've ever seen. I would highly recommend trying to get tickets to see this awesome band live!

Kaiserchiefs started at 9pm and played until 10:20pm. I found this a little short (with only one encore), but they did play all their (even older) hits in between the new songs. Concert itself was great, good vibe, but could have been longer!

So on Friday we headed over to the Showbox at the Market for Kaiser Chiefs. I love this venue. The layout is spacious with the elevated bar areas in the corners. The venue is small enough that you can see everything on the stage from the back corners. The bouncers are not very friendly but I guess that's part of their job, to appear threatening all the time. Beer's are smaller than a pint at the same price as a big one. Not cool. Volume is loud for the smallish venue but once you lose part of your hearing it's fine and you feel the kick drum like a heart beat. The band: I wasn't a big fan of Kaiser Chiefs before but it's not everyday that you get to see a international act from up close. And boy did they impress. They are very tight and not overly flashy. The front man keeps the show together and manhandles the crowd to do his every whim. I don't like it if they keep asking for more noise and more applause etc but the crowd responded with energy. I would recommend the Kaiser Chiefs just for the sheer musical entertainment that is British rock.

Transfer, the first opening act was original and hard rocking. Walking on the Moon was an up an coming boy band which I didn't really enjoy -but my 16 yo daughter did! To start with you must know that I am old (50+). Take that as good or bad, but from my perspective its a good thing, because I have become more critical in my old age and it is getting harder and harder to impress me. I am still looking for the "next big thing". I am also an anglophile loving everything from Kinks, Beatles, Stones, Clash, Pistols, Oasis, Blur, so I am constantly following anything new coming out of England because I think the music, especially rock, is just so much better. (There you know where I coming from). I have been following the Kaiser Chiefs since their first album. I think there lyrics are hysterical (Angry Mob, Everything Is Average Nowadays, etc..). I always thought their music would translate very well live, kinda of punk, but I have been let down so many times when the sonic sound in recordings cannot be replicated live (best example, The Pretenders first album - Just shows how good a producer Chris Thomas was). Anyway the Kaisers were phenomenal live. Many of the songs were actually better live than recorded (e.g. Ruby, Angry Mob) and some were just I had imagined [hoped] they would be [Everything is Average Nowadays, I predict a Riot]. Very well balanced band , very entertaining. There was not a lull in the entire show, and they were very smart playing primarily from their old catalog and mixing in the best of their new album. Left very satisfied. Didn't see the "next big thing" , but I did see a great rock band who deserves far more airplay and a following in the US. If you have a chance, well worth your dollar.

Ricky Wilson is a great performer. The songs from their new album The Future is Medieval which was released in US on March 6th of this year under the title Start the Revolution Without Me has some great songs. The crowd went berserk with their popular old numbers like 'Ruby' and 'I Predict A Riot'. A thoroughly enjoyable show for all indie/punk rock aficionados.

One of only 3 U.S. shows this tour and lots of fun, even tho this could be considered a \u2018warm-up gig for the upcoming festival dates. The new songs don t stand up against the familiar ones (but I think that s de riguer for these guys or at least until the new ones become familiar). The new drummer is a powerhouse! The opener \u2018Honduras , looked like 5 teenage kids who should be playing pick-up basketball in somebody s driveway, but delivered a smart, catchy set

This show was downgraded from the HoB and it s a shame that people don t know what they re missing, as these guys fill stadiums in their native UK. The songs are short, catchy and have that great sing-along quality that make you feel part of the crowd right away. In the cozy confines of the Paradise, the crowd was enthusiastic and gave them a hero s welcome. The set list featured songs from the latest CD Education Education Education and War , but there were an equal number of old favorites, plus a B-side and a new one. My complaints were few: with their shorter songs, 18 of them go by way too quickly; and that I probably have to wait another 2 years for them to return to Boston.
