Anthrax was amazing. But it was obvious that Lemmy is not Lemmy following his heart attack. I suspect that if Motorhead didn't have a new CD coming out that they would not be on tour. Motorhead's guitar player was obviously covering for Lemmy and not only talked over him but stood in front of him while playing some of his guitar solos. Speaking of guitar solos this "just over an hour show" featured a guitar AND drum solo. I have been waiting for 35 years to see this band and in the end I did not see the real Motorhead at all. I'm still happy that I went but I would never recommend this tour.

Motorhead's singer/bassist Lemmy Kilmister has grappled with a slew of health issues, forcing him and Motorhead to cancel and/or truncate recent stops on their current tour. Nevertheless, they proved they are still capable of delivering a high octane performance as was the case last Tues. night. They plowed through a satisfying set of both old and new songs with plenty of screaming guitar work and pounding drum solos as delivered by Phil "Wizzo" Campbell and Mikkey Dee, respectively, and all rounded out with Lemmy's signature bass work and guttural, growling vocals! Anthrax also continue to prove their worth even with various lineup changes. Of note I will say, Jon Donais and Scott Ian were super on the guitars. Jon was once my guitar teacher and besides being superb as a tutor, he is a great asset to this band. A perfect fit for him for a gig and vice versa!

Don't get me wrong. I love my rock loud but when it gets over a certain level, you can barely tell what song the band is playing. That was the case with this show. The first band played at a good level. Clutch was way too loud, especially the base. Components of the venue were vibrating which sounds like distortion.

Motörhead was excellent as always. They had some technical difficulties with the drums (?) but ironed that out and delivered the goods. The mosh pit was rowdy and I got some big Mexican dude's blood all over my left hand somehow during 'Overkill'. Niiice!

First off Motorhead are one of the most under rated supergroups in the realms of heavy metal. Ultimately, grandfathers of the genre having kicked ass consistently since the early 80's when Fast Eddie Clark and Philthy Phil the Animal stood along side Lemmy. I dont know if was the first night of the tour ...or if it was because it was tuesday or if the early technical problem bothered Lem or...what...but the show was very lack luster. Very little energy. I expect blood and guts when I see Motorhead....all I got was ....milk and tea. dont get me wrong .....MOTHER EFFIN MOTORHEAD......rawk.....but on this night....not so much. JUST my 2 cents.

as far as im concerned, motorhead will only stop touring and recording with the death of lemmy. They are a great band and as a person who is 30 years younger than the main audience, it is good to see one of the greats get up on stage and do what he does best, beat the hell out of you with good music. Motorhead is the real deal for all true metal heads.

First off I'm not a Motorhead fan. Of course I know Ace of Spades and Eat the Rich but I don't listen to Motorhead, I went to see the second act Clutch. The opener was Valiant Thor. I had never heard of them and wasn't sure what I was in for when they took the stage but they put on an intense, sweat soaked show with a contagious energy. It was obvious they were there to rock and I would definitely go see them again. Clutch was awesome as always and they played a good mix of new and old, I just wish they had played longer but they weren't headlining. The sound for the first 2 bands was great with the vocals clear, the bass and drums distinct and the guitar not overwhelming. When Motorhead took the stage the sound fell apart. It was muffled and murky and tried to compensate in volume for what it was lacking in balance. I tried to get into the show but after 4 songs of Lemmy constantly goading the crowd to be louder I left.

Everything I expected. Valient Thorr and Clutch were very good opening acts and had a good fan base at the show. Motorhead as the headliner didn't disappoint. Loud, brash and just what I expected. Had a great time, actually went with my best friend and nephew and they were blown away. If you're going to see Motorhead WEAR EARPLUGS because they are ear-splitting loud.

This was an incredible show. Valient Thor opened the show up- despite the lead singer's sometimes weird stage antics and the band's contrived outfits, the singer's voice kicked arse, and the band rocked. Their set contained fast, heavy tracks- sounding like a hybrid of DRI and Suicidal Tendencies. Clutch was up next ... yawn. All their songs were boring. When Motorhead took the stage, things got heavy. The guys blazed through old and new songs, with furious vengeance. The whole place was rocking, with heads banging all around. There was a 10 minute drum solo that was pretty wild as well.

No one notified me that in order to get in the pit area you need to be one of the 1st hundred through the door. Motorhead Rocks ! Nokia Sucks!!! I Love Motorhead, i would got see them in any place, but the Nokia Theatre is the biggest rip off!!!!! Everything is overpriced in that place ,$15 to $20 dollars to park, Metal detectors ( which i can cope with) $10 beer minimum, crappy sound, crappy location, big pillars that block your view of the stage. It is the worst place to go see a rock'n roll show, I will not go back to the Nokia ever !!!!!!!!

For an opening act, Valient Thorr kicked ass. Great sound, great energy, just great from start to end for Valient Thorr. Clutch on the other hand, not so great. Didn't really enjoy their music, it sounded bland for a metal show. I would definitely not watch them again and its the only reason this review is 4/5 stars. As lead shouter Lemmy tells you from the outset "We are Motorhead, and we play Rock & Roll!" They certainly do - and they play it louder than anybody else! Motorhead are not for the faint of heart and they're certainly not a show that you go to if you intend to hold a conversation with your companions; but if you want "heads down and go for it" hard rock then look no further. They are still every bit as good as they ever were and just to see Legendary Lemmy Kilmister doing his thing should be on every rock fan's bucket list Your ears my be ringing for days afterward - but isn't that what you paid for?

This show was one of the best straight-ahead rock shows I've seen in awhile. Valient Thorr was great as usual, playing their party-metal with trademark gusto. Clutch played way too long and the crowd was definitley getting impatient during their set. I've never liked Clutch, but they still seemed out of place. Motorhead killed it, easily the loudest show I've ever been to (And I've seen Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Slayer!). My only gripe is that Lemmy's mic seemed turned up too high and his voice was getting distorted. But in the end, an awesome show at an awesome venue

This was my 3rd Motorhead show, and it was unbeatable. The guys rocked the place like you expect from the band this caliber. There were two songs from The World Is Yours album, and a good mix of older songs. Motorhead is loud! My ears were ringing for a day after the concert. I finally got to see Motorhead after some 25 years of concert going. With Motorhead, you get what you pay for: all out balls to the wall, nonstop sonic fury. The show was sold out. Lemmy, Phil Campbell and Mickey Dee did not disappoint. Mickey Dee's solo was incredible-it sounded like World War 3. They were filming for a DVD release so the crowd was really into it. They definitely lived up to their reputation of being the world's loudest band-my ears were ringing for two days and I've been to close to 200 shows. Their setlist did not disappoint-they played both old and new. The only song they didn't do that I would have wanted was We Are The Roadcrew. Other than that, all I can say is go see them next time they're in your town! Long live Lemmy!

Lemmy can still rock louder and harder than anyone in the music business today. I have been to a lot of shows but this was without a doubt the loudest I had ever heard. Great combination of new and classic songs. Lemmy's presence fills any sized venue. Phil and Mickey were amazing and the crowd was amped. I fought my way to stage front and was treated to an up close performance that was worth the elbows and ringing eardrums. If you can get out to see this band treat yourself before they decide to stop touring. One of the few classic hard rock bands that still does it the old fashioned way.

Well I must say I was a bit skeptical before the evening began.I had heard the stories of the much ballyhooed Pop's Nightclub on the east side.So not having much experience on the east side I was almost wondering" Would I even fit in this venue"? I had no desire to see Valient Thorr the first of three bands on the bill. So I passed about 45 minutes at Lumiere Casino before venturing to Pop's. Due to my late arrival my parking choices were diminished to slim and none. I found a spot across the street from OZ nightclub.Another dreaded east side venue.Shootings in the parking lot and the alike. On to Pop's about a 1/4 mile walk from my parking spot. Arriving late has it's privileges,no line, more security, less hassle. After a customary concert shakedown in I went. Not what I expected at all.Pop's is a misshapen venue. On the left an open floor area with the stage off to the left with a bar and very small bathroom. To the right which seemed like the larger area another bar, pool tables, and machine games.I did enjoy the general admission feel of this place. My timing was impeccable Valient Thorr tearing down Clutch setting up. Around about 8ish Clutch hit the stage rocking. A little something for all Clutch fans old and new with a very tight clean sound.A truly enjoyable set of music.Clutch finished up their set around 8:45.Then the anticipation of metal legends Motorhead. While Motorhead's crew was setting up I decided to stroll the venue. I forgot to mention Pop's has a balcony are which was cool if you wanted to be a bit removed from the mosh pits and crowd surfers. I took up a position to the right side of the stage as the lights came down. There they were like I had just seen the Loch Ness monster living legends of rock and roll.Lemmy growls"We are Motorhead and we play rock and roll". From those immortal words sprang a sonic event. A massive range of material was covered from"Overkill" to the new "Get Back in Line."I was introduced to a new old song I had never heard"Just 'Cos You Have the Power" an excellent song I had somehow missed. I had also attempted to prepare myself for unfathomable loudness I had heard was part of a Motorhead event. I was somewhat disappointed with the scaled down sound system but at the same time relieved as I'm not getting any younger.I enjoy seasoned veterans of rock no muss no fuss as an old boss used to say "Just do your Job" Motorhead did their job to the point and to I believe everyone's satisfaction. The crowd was described in a review I read as ranging from "Underage" to "Grizzled metal grandpas" myself fitting the latter category. I must say I was truly satisfied. I feel the 38 bucks I paid was well spent and I will be seeing Motorhead again.Probably on an annual basis. If you are a metal fan do yourself a favor go see Motorhead because "We are Motorhead and we play rock and roll" and they mean it.

Great show!! Crobot was not a bad opening act. Only played for 30 minutes. Anthrax rocked the house. Played some stuff from the 80's and completely nailed the Dimebag and Dio tribute. Motorhead was as expected. Take what you can get outta Lemme. He's giving it his all at almost 70 with bad lungs. Mickey D solo was incredible. Takes me back to the days of John Bonham. We ate at Niko Mcbrain's Rock and Roll Ribs which is a short distance fron the venue. The venue was great. Small and intimate. Every seat is a good one. Two exceptions; The speakers on the east side of the stage completely blocked the view of Micky D on drums. Many people had to move toward the aisle to see him. Also why do tshirts have to cost $40? I would have spent $50 to get two. Other than that.....another bucket list item checked off.

The worries were unfounded, they sounded great, and it was really fun to hear all the classics.

Was worried if this show would even happen, given Lemmy's recent health issues. Happy to say the show went off without a hitch. Yes, Lemmy is showing his age, but Motorhead still put on a great set. They are definitely one of those bands you should try to see at least once in your life if you are a hard rock fan. Anthrax continues to show why they are the ultimate metal comeback story. Ever since they reunited with Joey Belladonna a few years back for the "Big Four" event, they have just been incredible live. The tracks from "Worship Music" fit right in with the classics, and they made the most of their set time at this show. They are better players now than they were at their peak. Crobot was a cool surprise, heavy but with a definite 60's funkiness to it. Good opener, and very different from the other two bands on the bill.

Crobats really impressed me with their on-stage presence and sound. I had never listened to them before, but my next stop after writing this review is Amazon to order some CDs. Anthranx was easily the highlight of the show, playing high energy, fun music that got the crowd excited. While I never really got into Anthrax before, they've made a new fan and I will definitely try to see them again in concert. Motorhead was one of the most disappointing acts I've ever seen live. They lacked energy. The music was so loud my ears were ringing two days later (never has been that bad before), meanwhile I literally could barely hear Lemmy over the rest of the band. As a casual fan, I was disappointed in the song selection, only being able to recognize one of their well-known songs (Ace of Spades). The crowd died quickly shifting from Anthrax to Motorhead. I'm glad I'm able to cross Motorhead off my bucketlist, but I feel like maybe the boat has sailed on these guys. First time at Fillemore Charlotte, not a fan of this venue. Small place. Disliked the amount of spiked clothing I saw flying around the mosh pit, especially given their "no spiked/studded clothing" rule. Why was I given a pat down for knives and guns if I can lose an eye to some goober's jacket that they openly wore into the venue? I'll be back because it's the only game around if you lived outside the Raleigh area... but still. It was also really uncool to ask the bar if I could get some water after the event and be told "we aren't serving now". I wasn't asking for beer, just wanted some water after 5 hours without a beverage.

Only drawback was that the drinks at this particular venue (The Fillmore in Charlotte NC) were crazy expensive. Mind blowingly so ie. $8.00 for a 16oz Pabst Blue Ribbon!?! They went up from there.

Motorhead is one of my boyfriend's favorite bands, so I was thrilled the show was actually on his birthday.

Pretty good show. Anthrax is always entertaining. They always seem to be having a good time. Motorhead was good. Lemmy looked a little tired and frail.

While Motörhead was memorable and well worth the admission price, Saxon was equally enjoyable.

Motorhead has been kicking butt for decades. Lemmy might be getting up there in years, however, he continues to deliver after 40+ years. I highly recommend seeing them before it is too late. Anthrax was excellent and they have a lot of energy and a great set list.

Was worried that like some previous shows on the west coast, Lemmy would be forced to leave the stage early. But not only did Motorhead play for an hour and a half, but they sounded great. Lemmy looked frail, but he still sounded like the Lemmy of old. Anthrax played a great setlist as well and had the crowd moshing. If this was Motorhead's last hurrah, I am glad I got to see them(again).

Been going to concerts for the past 15 years, seen hundreds of shows. This will easily make the top ten, maybe even top five ever.

glad i went! sound was good, but the band was a little off on a couple of tunes- my favorites, too. But i love these guys so it really didn't matter. Quite a few a-holes in attendance, but i guess that's to be expected. Didn't really like the venue.

Obviously awesome! Although, Starland Ballroom seems to oversell, not good when everyone is leatherclad.

I really wish they played more of their "Metal" songs, like Sacrifice. But the show was great overall.

...the show said it all. Nothing was left in doubt. Motorhead was great. Their lyrics may be simple and the music basic, but it's everything we want. When it was over it was over. Everyone there knew we had seen something special. Everything louder than everything else pretty much sums it up. Motorhead is a must see!

It was refreshing to see Motorhead NOT at Roseland ( the worst sound system in New York ). But I've been seeing Motorhead live for 29 years now and these last 3 or so years they basically keep playing the same songs. They have so much amazing material to choose from! I'm so tired of hearing Metropolis, and Ace Of Spades. I wanna hear The Claw! and On Parole, and lots of old stuff. Oh well, maybe next time. But I'll always go see them no matter what. And my ears did ring for 2 days. That's the best therapy you could ask for...

Finally got to see Motorhead Live....was worth the wait. From the opening chords it was evident that Lemmy and the boys were not taking prisoners. They are incomparable. With the exception of a couple of songs, the mix and volume were perfect. Lemmy is awesome. Buy the movie too! This does not sound Rock'nRoll but... I simply felt privileged to be in the building with Motorhead. Long live Lemmy!

A simple, yet brilliantly loud rock fest. I don't know how much longer these guys will be able to go at it at this pace, but they were easily as good as they were the last time I saw them in the mid 80's. If you've never seen Motorhead yet or if it's been a while, definitely check them out. My ears were still ringing 48 hours later.

After issuing their usual introduction, 'We are Motorhead and we play rock n roll" they proceeded to do just that for the next 80+ minutes; albeit at 115-120 dBs. The first half of the show cruised along solidly with a mixture of old and new, including their new "hit", "Get Back In Line". Beginning with 'I Got Mine", they really kicked into overdrive. Mikkey Dee's drum solo in the middle of "In the Name of the Tragedy" probably registered on the seismograph at the Weston Observatory. The closing 5 songs, "Just 'Cos You Got the Power", "Going to Brazil", "Killed by Death" "Ace of Spades" and "Overkill", while familiar to most Motorhead fans, were played with particular fury and intensity. All in all a very enjoyable show; especially sicne I remembered to bring earplugs.

Motorhead - Boston 3/1/11 House Of Blues - Ate at the restaurant at the HOB before the show. Got a skip the line pass so i wouldn't have to wait in the huge line to get in. Show sold out and the crowd was insane. some of the best pits i saw in a long time Valient Thorr - played for 30 minutes. very high energy set. Sounded really good and had no problem getting the crowd into it. Opened the set with Double Crossed, and i dont know the names of any of their other songs. Very blues rock Clutch - WOW! excellent 45 minute set. Extremely talented band, and if you like blues rock, its a must to check these guys out. again, dont know their songs good enough to make a setlist, but their entire set kicked ass. crowd was really into it and i saw my first stoner mosh pit Motorhead - As soon as Lemmy said "We are Motorhead and we play Rock and Roll", place was nuts for the entire 80 minute set. PLayed the same set that can be founf on metalsetlists, opened with We Are Motorhead, ended with 3 of their best songs, Killed By Death, Ace of Spades and Overkill. My first time seeing them, and it can be described in one word...LOUD. my ears are still ringing and i dont see it stopping in the near future...

Their sound was pretty good, but the individual performances were awesome. Mickey Dee's drum solo was very good. Not as loud as I thought they were gonna be to be honest though; I've been to far louder.

They just keep getting better and better. Great setlist. A nice mix of new and old. Clutch was horrible..a bore of self absorbed dullards. They took the energy out of the room . Valient Thorr at least was high energy and entertaining...Thanks Lemmy, Phil and Mikkey for .a night to remember.

We all know that Lemmy = God so it was of no surprise that Motorhead blew me away again. They played a wider spectrum of songs(ie not just "classics") this tour (as compared to Motorizer tour) which I loved.

The night started out with the first opener, Valient Thorr. They were a bunch of clowns on stage, but i think that's their gig, lol. it was funny, and fun, but a bit weird. Then, the next opener, Clutch. WOW! i kept hearing Motorhead fans around me saying they couldn't believe Clutch were that good. It was like they found the Pirate's gold in their own back yard! they did songs like "One Eyed Dollar", and "The Mob Goes Wild", and "Electric Worry", mixed with some old and new. flawless drumming, and that drum solo.... WOW! the whole band destroyed the place, i was worried Motorhead couldn't keep up with these guys....... and then..... Motorhead comes out..... and WOW!! massive sound, Lemmy with his harsh streetwise-Brit comments, him holding that bass as if it were a guitar. they brought the place down, with their classics and new stuff. Just an overall wild night, still raving about it to friends, lol. definitely worth seeing!
