Fantastic! Awesume ! Fun ! Genie really stole the show. Fajar and sidekick Iago were great. The choreography was energetic and the costume changes was amazing. Wish we could see it again and again and again. I must also say that the New Amsterdam Theater was lovingly restored to its 1903 art-deco style, and it's well suited to have Alladdin's performances there.

I went into ALADDIN expecting to be blown away, but left a little disappointed. Vocally; the cast was great... The magic carpet ride wasfantastic. Unfortunately the dance routines were lacking. At times the choreagraphy was all over the place. If this was intentional, it did not appear so... The synchronization was way off. I thought by waiting for the previews to end it would have given the cast enough time to get through all the kinks, but this was not the case.

It was fun right from the start. The costumes and sets were colorful and the actors were all first class. The fellow that plays Aladdin had a very good voice, Jasmine was quite beautiful and Jafar had that unforgettable voice. He's the same guy from the movie. But the one who plays Genie was amazing, his songs and antics were definitely Tony award worthy. My wife and children were talking about seeing it again on the way out of the theatre.

The show is great, but our seats were terrible. It's too high and seemed like we were going to fell down. No room for legs. And i am a short person. I was uncorfotable during the whole time. It's a shame because the show is really beautiful

If your looking for a family night out and your not big on musicals then see this show Don't see it for the acting, but it's a fun experience just no depth It's family friendly and has beautiful costumes and scenery but lacks chemistry with the cast. I love Disney but it's to over the top

Nice ti see a musical with no message and lots of laughs. Genie steals the show, or actually makes it fun. Rest of the cast are entertaining and nice. See it as a stress reliever and you won't be sorry.

Aladdin was my the highlight of our family day trip to NYC. My five-year-old son hardly moved, completely enameled by the production. That being said, this cast recently had a big turn over, with Genie and Aladdin beginning very recently as the leads. For those wishing to hear the original broadway cast, they are no longer present. Major Attaway and Telly Leung bring something new to the stage, particularly in terms of tone and timbre. The whole sound seems being and modern in slight contrast to the original cast recording. This may be a directorial strategy or a reflection of the current artists. The roles are demanding, and most impressively, seem to incorporate a bit of improv. The orchestra is spectacular, and the scoring was excellent. In general, the music was a lot of fun. The sets, costumes and effects were amazing. The second half was a whirlwind of ensemble and effects that leaves you totally caught up in the beauty. If you want a deep, heavy show, this is not for you. However, it is perfect for families, Disney fans, and those who love old school large cast shows. My son totally loved it and immediately asked when he could see the show again.

We had box seats to the 1:00 show on Wednesday. My seven and nine year olds sat in one while my friend and I sat in the other. We had THE best view of all the ins and outs of the production along with the privacy to sing along a bit :) The actors were brilliant, the set design was flawless, the magic carpet was stunning, and the changes made from the movie flowed nicely. We were very disappointed when it came to an end.

While this was my first Broadway show, I'm no stranger to theatre and musicals. It's been my dream since I was 14 to attend a show on Broadway. Aladdin did not disappoint! It was absolutely amazing with great sets, fantastic songs, and the actors were top notch. Genie was definitely my favorite character! This was our first ever NYC broadway show! First, my 16 year old daughter and I loved the history of the New Amsterdam Theater. The theater was built in 1903 and for many years, it hosted the Ziegfeld Follies. It's just beautiful inside. The show itself was beyond amazing! There are several "wow" moments during the show, where you wonder how did they do that? It was funny and entertaining the entire way through. The genie definitely stole the show! Afterwards, we gave a donation to the actors in exchange for a cast signed poster. My daughter also got her picture with Aladdin and one of the other actresses. Totally recommend this show!

Overall the show is simply amazing. I saw Lion King last month and genuinely believe that this is much better. The theatre offers little room for anyone probably 5ft 10 or more with nowhere to put your feet and pretty much touching the person next to you. Frustrating at the start but once you're hooked into the show (doesn't take long it's so good) then you do forget about it. Genie is amazing also!

This was a last minute idea to surprise my family for a special birthday! I needed reasonably priced tickets for 5 of us in a row and found them in the Balcony level (Row F, Right Side). Being able to see the view from our seats before purchasing them played a big part in the decision and it was not disappointing at all! Aladdin is a visual explosion of costumes, set design, and choreography. We mostly loved the music from the animated movie and it was great! The best parts were "Friend Like Me" and "A whole new world". The genie is so funny and entertaining! The Cave of Wonders and the Magic Carpet were thrilling to see even from so high up in the audience! Love, love, loved it!!

My wife and I saw Aladdin at the New Amsterdam Theater on West 42nd St. on 08/12/17. The show was amazing from beginning to end. As in the Disney animated movie, the Genie stole the show, but all of the other actors were excellent as well. The actors playing Aladdin and Jasmine were both good choices; they both looked and sounded quite similar to the movie's characters. Jafar was also excellent, and the Sultan, whose character was not the somewhat bumbling fool as he was in the movie, was also a good choice. Supporting cast all did a fantastic job, too. I could just "feel" that the entire cast very much enjoyed performing and I'm guessing that there will be many tears from them when the show finally ends it's run and they go their separate ways. The translation from animated movie to stage was done very well. I wondered what they'd do with Apu and Iago; would they be puppets, maybe? No, Iago was a human but played a similar role as Jafar's "lackey" and the guy playing him did an outstanding job. There was no Apu; they replaced him with three human friends of Aladdin's, each with distinct personalities of their own. Sounds disappointing as Apu was a major character in the movie, but it worked. Everyone's singing voices were great, as was their dancing & acrobatics. There were several new songs included in the show. They were all good, but I'll admit that I did get a little tired of the several times Aladdin sang about how he was going to make his mother proud of him, but again, he had a great voice so I'm not dissing on him. Outstanding sets, and many special effects including the magic carpet; I'm still not sure how they pulled that off. While the show was not a comedy, there were plenty of humorous moments throughout the show. The only small disappointment was that the end seemed a bit "rushed", but again, that's a small thing. The theater was beautiful; it's one of the oldest on Broadway but has been refurbished back to it's original splendor. I don't think that there was a bad seat in the house. The concession / souvenir space on our floor got very congested during intermission, though. It was a wonderful production. There are many excellent choices for shows in New York, but I'd highly recommend seeing this one. As was the movie, this was a "G" rated show so it would be great for kids, but there were a lot of adults there without kids - I'd estimate that the adults were at least 75% of the audience. If they ever filmed this show with this cast, I'd be first in line to buy the DVD. Go see it!

I was in NYC for the first time and knew I needed to see a Broadway. Aladdin was my favorite Disney movie growing up...so I had to watch it on Broadway. Some things were changed around character wise with Raja and Abu, I was disappointed at first but I realized it did help the live musical plot move along. The live musical did such a great job on stage. The actors that played Genie, Aladdin, Jafar, and Jasmine did so well! I would definitely watch it again and tell my disney loving friends to as well.

One of the best shows I've ever seen - the sets, costumes, actors and their incredible talent - all FABULOUS!! Amazing production values! You'll be singing the songs as you leave. And the art nouveau interior of the 1903 New Amsterdam Theatre is jaw-droppingly gorgeous!!! A must see!

I took my 15 year old daughter to see Alladin for her birthday and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! The music, costumes, and magnificent settings were sensational! It is definitely a must see and we may go back to see it again! The genie was the star of the show and right from the very first scene with him we knew it would be nothing short of spectacular! Being avid Disney fans, Alladin made us feel like we right there in Disneyworld! The only downside was I bought her an Alladin poster signed by all the cast and she accidentally lost it on the train! :(

The show was far more hysterical than the movie ever was and the Genie is a must-see! The entire musical is a burst of color and will keep you clapping for more! Flawless costumes, dance sequences and singing, this is a must-see if you are traveling to Broadway.

Based on everything I'd seen/heard about the production, I knew it would be amazing, but it even exceeded my expectations. The orchestra was amazing, and the New Amsterdam Theatre was beautiful. The actors were phenomenal. James Monroe Iglehart as Genie was incredible- he won the Tony in 2014 for Featured Actor in a Musical for the role. I couldn't stop smiling for the entire show. I would go see the show again without hesitation, and will be recommending it to anyone who will listen. Actors were extremely accomodating and friendly when we waited for autographs and pictures.

What an amazing production! We came to New York on vacation. Since it was our daughter's first time in New York we were looking for an event the family could enjoy and Aladdin did not disappoint! The set was awesome and the cast was outstanding with great energy! We loved the genie -- simply unforgettable with refreshing dashes of humor that made even the little children chuckle. We attended the 2 p.m. show that had quite a few children groups so other than a little noise here and there as expected from kids, you won't be disappointed!

I wanted to see this one because none of us in my party of 6 has seen this before. But we've all seen the show in Disneyland and I thought it may be the same, it wasn't! It was so much better than we expected. The genie was amazing! How he can sing and dance like that was simply awesome. I loved Aladdin! Awesome voice and such a great performance. Loved all the background dancing and singing! Loved the songs!

Three wishes, what will your pleasure be? I wish for .... Disney pulls off magic to keep the audience immerse with enthusiasm and delight. A pre-birthday 2016 event for me, myself and I (Power of One) which was a complete joy. It has been ages since I have seen the 1992 Disney film but there are differences between the animated film vs. theatrical stage: No Rajah, Jasmine's tiger No Abu, a mischievous monkey Iago is not a parrot, but is replaced by a man (as a comic relief sidekick) Aladdin is given three male friends named Babkak, Omar, and Kassim. He is also given a scene where he remembers his mother. The song "Proud of Your Boy" was cut from the 1992 film but included in the musical. A magic carpet (no wires are visible) Jafar's wish is to be Sultan, rather than the most powerful sorcerer in the world as depicted in the 1992 film. Jafar's banishment of Aladdin to a frozen wasteland, followed by the carpet's rescue of Aladdin, is cut from the stage version. Jonathan Freeman is the only original cast from the 1992 film to reprise his role as Jafar, the notorious villain, in the Broadway musical. In true Disney fashion pyrotechnics and exquisite costumes with precise microscopic detail of Swarovski crystals shimmer on stage. I am impressed, yet in disbelief, that pyrotechnics are permitted indoors due to safety (does Disney want an accident like 1984 Michael Jackson's second degree burns on his scalp and jacket when filming a Pepsi commercial)? Nevertheless, Disney got money. The choreography, fight scenes, acrobat jumps, dance sequence including tap dancing, set design are well organized, planned and on cue synchronizing with music. This musical production is family friendly. The energy depicted is upbeat lively and non-stop action staying true to core storyline of the iconic classic 1992 film. The singing voices are exuberant and energetic. At the entrance foyer there is a replica magic golden lamp where Aladdin fans can take photos and selfies. At day's end I received an email direct from Disney asking me to "tell us about your experience" for a short survey. Wow, Disney follow-up with their patrons to ensure it was an enjoyable experience unlike your typical theatre production whom you never express your comments, feedback or reviews.

There is a reason that James Monroe Iglehart won a Tony for his role as Genie. The man is a born entertainer. The energy in the first half was amazing. "You've Never Had A Friend Like Me" and "Prince Ali" are staged incredibly. The other standout is Don Darryl Rivera as Iago. He plays the sidekick to Jafar, but as a man, not a bird. Totally works & he really steals every scene he's in. There are a few changes in this show. Some work, some don't. Aladdin's friends are a nice addition & given the fact the three of them are really talented in their own right, you might have thought they were part of the story all along. The two biggest issues in the show are you never get the sense Princess Jasmine is really ever in danger. Jafar is no real threat here- bad direction? The other issue is the chemistry between Aladdin & Jasmine is pretty luke warm. The scene on the flying magic carpet was a great effect, but without the sparks between the actors, it was underwhelming. Adam Jacobs is good as Aladdin, but we felt maybe the actor Steel Burkhardt cast as Aladdin's friend, Kassim would have been a better choice for Aladdin. Courtney Reed is certainly beautiful, but just doesn't have enough sass to embody Princess Jasmine. After intermission, the energy was low & the finale was too short with no real appropriate send off for the Genie. Glad we saw it, but was disappointed by the second half.

This show was truly magical. Disney in NYC!! From the music, to the costumes, the sets, the singing. It was all top notch. I've seen a few other shows in NYC and they are all good. This one is just really great for families seeking some Disney Magic while visiting the concrete jungle. The show is true to the original story while adding some new songs and making it all come to life. All the characters are really great, animated and fun. The genie steals the show though. He will steal your heart and you can't help but be reminded of Robin Williams. I can't say enough about this production, it's a must see and I would gladly see it again!!!
