It is to bad that there were not more people to experience this show at Club Nokia in L.A. That being said, I was happy to be able to jump into the pit and jump around and then move to the back and watch this great show. It was a bit rough in places but I believe this had more to do with this being opening night for the tour. Most of the hits were covered so this was a great show.

Once again the Lords Of Acid have proven to be the for runners of their specially designed music. With Praga Kahn living up the stage with his antics, the very beautiful DJ Mea hitting the vocals with the power of her feminine prows and the bassest Murv giving it a shot of ultra sexiness proved to be a power house of entertainment. If you want rare powerful dance your ass off fun then the Lords Of Acid is the show for you.

The intimate venue was great to be able to be so up close to the band however the production value was a bit thin: the band and some dancers?

I enjoy both of these bands quite a bit and have seen them seperately but never together so this was a very good chance to do so. The crowd was small but they were true fans and knowlegable. Both bands sets were fun and they picked some good songs. The bands were very stripped down stagewise, due in part the venue size. Speaking of which, this was my first time in Blondies Detroit. The place is small and hot inside. The drinks were a bit over priced. Let's just say it will take a good act to make me want to show up there again.

I'm not one to regularly listen to industrial, or electronica, or dub, or whatever you want to call this genre of music, but I truly had a great time at this show. Mass entertainment was an obvious goal for both bands and Lords of Acid even invited folks up on the stage twice to dance and literally shake their asses. Even if this isn't your kind of music, you will have fun nonetheless. I promise.

A little disappointing. I guess when I first saw them 15 years ago I expected the same vibe and energy. They didn't attract as many people as I thought they would.

No person who likes either or both of these iconic legends would want to miss this show. the Lords were at an unfair advantage having to go on after a stellar performance by TKK. The Lords set seemed a little muted. All in all, a great show; a packed house, hot peeps, and mind altering substances. ...a daisy. Chain for satan, was my personal fave of the show. Peace out

This was an excellent introduction to Culture Room. The club layout is good for band watching and allows for avoidance of the dance floor. Thrill Kill Kult and Lords of Acid put on a great show, and the opening band was a fun time, too. Bartendress upstairs rocks!

The show honestly amazing. TKK. Groovy Mann & Buzz still have a very kool show. The set was mostly old school, with a very live feel, which means, it was great !! The surprise for me came when LOA took the stage and the Bassist & Guitar playa were kinda familiar ... SIN had been the guitar player for MINISTRY for years, and then REVCO, and now the LORDS ... he gets around and he is great. The Lords have an electric show, with energy, caffeine, lights, chicks, bouncing bassists, and one tight live act! Bottom line: fun as heck.

The opening act was quite funny, and I really enjoyed their enthusiastic performance, in spite of the singer's illness. He really worked the crowd haha. Thrill Kill Kult, of course, really laid down their act. I have always wanted to see them in concert, and what I did see of them was beyond amazing. I certainly enjoyed myself for the most part. It's a shame when a resident bartender insults customers and makes you wait 40 minutes to get a drink intentionally. LOA... I'm pretty sure a lot of things I wish to comment about will get this review deleted, but we will say it was VERY entertaining... and everything I hoped for. ;)

The band was absolutely fantastic!!! The band members were very personable after the show--doing handshakes/hugs/autographs; I even got a kiss from the lead singer! I fully plan to go to Pittsburgh to see them, & can't wait for them to come back to Cleveland! Well worth every penny spent!!!!!!

I am a dedicated Thrill Kill Kult fan. Loved every minute of it. I was completely BLOWN AWAY by Lords of Acid. They totally rocked. Amazing show. Unfortunately, the Cubby Bear was a total disappointment. The air conditioning wasn't able to keep up and it was VERY hot and miserably uncomfortable. Bar stools at the bar would have been nice too. There was nowhere to sit. I would recommend a Thrill Kill Kult and Lords of Acid show anytime but at a different venue.

I lived for a long time in the frozen North (Alaska); none of the bands I truly adored ever made it to Fairbanks....so I missed the time when most folks would have been seeing such shows when the bands first started playing. I figured ML with the TKK and Lords of Acid would be "good", but probably also distorted by decrepitude, physical decay, and at the least, anticlimactic-just-not-what-I-expected ness (cynical me). I was wrong!! Both Thrill Kill Kult and Lords Of Acid were as kinetic and aurally astounding as I ever could have imagined either to be. The sound was superb, the dancing so intense I thought I'd stroke out: but would NOT let self leave my spot, as my musical ICONS were RIGHT THERE... feet in front of my face, kickin ASS, tearing my head crown chakra clean off and blasting it to the ether!!

I was tipped off by a review of this show that said that there were two unlisted opening bands, and Lords of Acid didn't start playing until almost midnight. When I went to the Cubby Bear at 10:30, I found out there were three unlisted opening bands. LOA didn't go on until almost 1 am. They ended at 2 am. If I went when the doors opened at 8, I would have been there 7 hours. So the show went late, really late, but I saw Lords of Acid live, and that was worth it!!! Thrill Kill Cult was ok, but I went there to see LOA. It would have been nice if LOA could have played for more than just over an hour, since they were the headliners. Buy anyway, they were great! There's no band like them!

Great music, great stage show....it was so great seeing Praga Khan again, along with the incredibly sexy Lacey Connor in a leather mini dress and fishnets. The girls in the crowd didn't look too bad, either. Loud, too. I'm glad I brought earplugs.

TKK had a bit of a rough start with equipment, but it was resolved pretty quickly. They put on a good energetic show and their setlist was great. I was glad for the chance to see them again after they canceled last year's show. The Lords put on an amazing show and really seemed to be having a great time with each other on stage. Which made for a lot of fun watching. They also had a great setlist. Both groups played all the favorites. We had a great time.

Great show. The only minus is that Thrill looked like they had to lip some of the songs, it was pretty obvious. Also, I would have like to have seen more of the girl in that group, the guy kind of screamed the whole time.

opening band was new and interesting, I love thrill kill kult, but they took forever to come on stage seemingly when all was ready. then there micks didn't work right away, but finished strong. The lords were thier usual caotic and sexual selves. I loved it, and i loved the fact that the guitarest from Ministry joinrd them.

First band Blowload actually was pretty good, mixing quirky beats with hardcore metal. Good combo, nice guys. Next My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult came on, played most of their greatest hits plus some new songs, same lineup as days of old. Always a Favorite. I was a little Leary upon knowing Lords of Acid had replaced their singer with Lacy from Nocturne. She was actually pretty good, although not that good of a singer compared to the past lead women. The bass was cranked good and loud, shook the whole house. Good times, Good Freakshow of a crowd. Worth the 30$

The warm-up acts were sorta forgettable except for the big singer with the dreads. He was funny but actually pretty good in his own way. The Thrill Kill actually surprised me. They had some really good dance songs which got the crowd going. The Lords kicked-ass like always. Praga still runs around, destroying his keyboards and mike like the diva that he is. His latest front lady has some stage presence but needs to work a bit on the vocals. The rest of his band were great. Overall a pretty good show.

The two opening bands were ok. But the main attraction was the two we all went to go see. They rocked the house! However Club Nokia, gorgeous inside & fun; but it was hell trying to figure out how to get to the Door! Let alone the long line & waited outside 15 minutes past the "Door Opening" schedule. But you could clearly hear they were completing sound checks. Over all perfect night!

I didn't know that there were 2 other bands besides the one listed opening for Lords of Acid, which the only band I had cared about wanted to see. Needless to say, the door opened roughly at around 8:30p (we stood in line for about 30 mins for those that got there at 8p) and lords of acid didn't come on almost at midnight, at lot of standing around and waiting!!!!!

Lords of Acid without Praga Khan? Overpriced cover band. That is like going to see Ministry without Uncle Al. Wish I could have gotten my some of my money back. COMBICHRIST, if it was not for them the night would have been a total waste of time and money.

The show was just OK for me. I was expecting a completely different lineup for Lords of Acid. I hadn't heard they had changed the singer and guitar player, so when they started playing it created a bit of dissonance. First show with a new lineup, it was really good. Not the experience I was expecting, but they always put on a good show. Venue was nice and security was good-natured. Important for a Lords of Acid show.

Lords of Acid without Darling Nikki is like Cap'n Crunch Crunch Berry cereal without the Crunch Berries....sure it was still Cap'n Crunch, but..... The tart that was singing forgot the lyrics more than once. There were no men extras onstage during the show. Lots of fish, but no men. Praga, you should incorporate some of your solo work into the act. The band went on WAY too late for a Wed.

These guys are still bringing an entertainment value to the stage that rock and roll bands of today just don't get. They were so ahead of there time. I wish L.A. had more taste. The venue was half full. If that was Justin b-ber the whole city would have been there.

The show was really odd. Didn't see a need for 3 opening acts on a Wednesday. I guess they were fine if you like full on death metal complete with dancers from the local strip club; way self-obsessed "spends too much time in his bedroom at his parents' house" one-note electronica with overly reverbed vocals; and really scary, semi-live (1 guitar I am pretty sure she wasn't even playing, and a beat track) industrial. LOA were ok, but obviously playing to the crowd that had come to see the previous bands, and let's just say, the misbehaving mic stand stole the show.

TKK and LOA were amazingly FUN! I enjoy their music very much and with glowing reviews from friends attending their energetic, raucous San Francisco concert the night before, I was primed for their concert at Nokia in Los Angeles. TKK and LOA definitely delivered. Loved the MLTKK portion. Every minute of it. Audience could have been more out there during LOA - the crowd seemed too cool for school - and I wished the female singer was on par with Jade 4 U. But overall, it was a great night. Though I wished I was in San Francisco instead.

it had probably been 10 years or more since i had seen thrill kill or lords but i still enjoy their music so much i i hadnt really been to a upbeat dance-like show lately. we had so much fun! blownload opened a was surprisingly really good, we look forward to them coming back. thrill kill put on a really great show, they were really into the music and the crowd, then lords of acid came out and the place lit up, lots of energy, pulling the crowd onstage to dance and sing with the band, most my favorite songs and tons of playfullness. we danced and sang all night they played til almost 1 am i think.

For years now, I've wanted to see TKK live, but two factors conspired against me. One, I've not resided near any city they played. Two, their albums since 1993 have been uniformly terrible, and I wasn't sure if going was worth the time and money. This time, though, TKK and I were in the same city, and they were supporting their Wax Trax!-era compliation, "Sinister Whisperz," meaning the entire setlist came from the early '90s, the only time the band was worth a damn, so I bought a ticket. In short, my skepticism was well-founded. Groovie Mann was off-key (quite a feat, as he mostly just hollers) and didn't hit his cues once during the whole show. Buzz McCoy wasn't exactly exciting onstage, but he did an entirely creditable job keeping the music running. The band's website promised that Otto Matix would play drums, but all the drums were programmed. The real stars of the show were Charles Levi and Jacky Blaque; they were quite impressive and provided all the energy. In the end, I had a good time, as TKK played all the songs I wanted to hear, but I have no intention -- or need -- to ever see them in concert again. As far as the Lords of Acid go... Well, *meh* is the best descriptor I can come up with. They're a high-energy stage band, but shorn of the sexual lyrics, their music is boring. I saw them them once before, in Hollywood, when they headlined a show with with Rammstein and KMFDM, and at that show, I got bored and walked out. The same thing happened here, but I stuck around longer this time. I just don't get the band's appeal. If a band has the awesome name "Lords of Acid," I expect to hear them play some mindbending stuff. But no. They play basic acid house, just with sexual lyrics, and were I on acid, they'd still bore me. And I *like* acid house. All in all, I'm left with mixed feelings about the night. I got to see a band that I've wanted to see for a long time now, and they played the songs I wanted to hear and none of the dreck I didn't want to hear. They also weren't very good...but I got what I paid for. Guess I can't complain.
