I've seen Stomp maybe 4 times before at various other theaters. There are the well loved favorites, brooms and trash cans, but a few new ones too. The theater is small but there is not a bad seat in the house. Very up close and personal. It is located behind water tower place, we walked thru American Girl to get there, but there is a street entrance right behind the mall, which our cab driver must not have known about. Our 8 year old loved it.

If you haven't seen STOMP yet, do whatever you can to get a ticket and see it! Any seat is great since it's a relatively small theater. You won't be disappointed! After I caught my 7 year old beating on everything in my house with two sticks, I received a Stomp email and I knew I had to take my 7 & 12 year old. We all sat on the edge of our seat tapping our feet. The 'actors' are so talented. It's a must see and easy to get discounted tickets to make it worth it.

The concept is great, the performers did a good job -- but if you've seen this show before (even more than 10 years ago) the act has not changed!! It's a diversion from usual entertainment, but I wouldn't recommend if you've already seen it.

I love this show...I've seen it 2-3x in NY and another 3-4x in Chicago. This venue may have been the best yet. Although the stage was smaller, we were SO close. Great for adults & kids alike, and if you haven't seen it, it's nothing like you've ever seen before.

STOMP is an interesting combination of percussion, dance, and physical comedy. The cast did a great job. We thought it was creative, energetic, and fun. It reminded us somewhat of the Blue Man Group without the paint and marshmallows.

The show lasts 1 hour and 40 minutes without intermission, so be ready for that. There are very few "down times," it's essentially a non-stop performance with numbers transitioning quickly. The show is more than just percussion based music--there's also a comedic element with the performers gesturing and making faces at each other. I wasn't prepared for that and enjoyed that aspect of the show immensely! My only negative comment is that while it *is* a percussion show, the volume was a bit much for me at times. It was just way too loud for comfort and detracted from my enjoyment for those numbers. Most of the show was fine however. The Playhouse theater is small and ideal--even if you're in the back of theater you're still pretty close to the stage. We sat about 2/3 of the way back in the center of the main floor and had an excellent view. Overall, an excellent show for audiences of all ages, but small kids/viewers who get startled by sudden loud noises might be overwhelmed. I would gladly go to this again.

We first saw SToMP 20 years ago and even though there are many similar areas, I loved the 2016 performance. The entire crew was extremely upbeat. They all seemed to enjoy their work and the performance ended way too soon. Our entire life includes rhythm and SToMP is as great today as it was 20 years ago.

I have seen Stomp twice in 15 years and both shows were thoroughly entertaining. I brought my kids ages 10 & 12 and they loved it as well. There is great humor to the show as well. The theater was small and every seat was excellent!!!

I have seen many Stomp shows throughout the years and again this show did not disappoint. I took the family to see it. 10 and 12 years old they were captivated by performers and truly entertained. The theater was smaller so it seemed more personal so I highly recommend seeing it at the Playhouse while it's still in Chicago.

We took my daughter for her 16th birthday and it was great! Innovative ways to create music, great visuals, funny with lots of audience interaction. My husband is highly sensitive to music, so he found it difficult because he could hear every individual sound when there may have been 20 instruments playing. For that reason, I would not recommend for someone prone to sensory overload. But I thought it was excellent and would see it again.

I brought my 11-yr-old son for his birthday, and we were both blown away. Each segment was even better than the last, and the hour and 45 minutes flew by. My favorite was the kitchen sink bit or hamboning; he loved the swinging drumming up near the rafters. There wasn't a clunker act in the show. Plus, it was sooooo funny. Maybe those parts were our favorite? I expected a lot of trash can banging and was so surprised by the subdued, quiet pieces. I will stop here but could go one and on and on...!

Just don't drink the house wine at Mity Nice before going to see it. It is loud (of course, its all percussion) and there is no intermission. Thoroughly enjoyed this unique show from end to end despite the mild headache. Hard to imagine I watched people banging on things for that long and enjoyed but that's the truth!

I love live entertainment and go to concerts, plays, musicals, opera, comedy, sporting events--you name it--a lot. Hands down, STOMP is the best thing I've seen in a long time! There is no dialogue it is all about sound and expression. But not everyone will catch that. Be on the look out for the "characters" in this show and notice their "roles" as it will add another dimension to your experience. This is one talented troupe and they shouldn't be missed!! I would say this show is appropriate for all ages 6 to 100. Couple things to note, there a 2 or 3 moments of more adult or slightly gross (my opinion) humor...but very brief and not offensive. It can also be a bit loud at times, so if loud noises are bothersome, I'd consider a seat further back. All in all I'd go see the show again tonight if I could!

Our daughters, ages 20 and 25, loved the production! My husband and I thought it was about 30 minutes worth of awesome. We felt that it needed a little more jazz and pizazz. But, for a production seen on Christmas Eve, it added to the festivities, nicely.

I just couldn't handle the volume of the sound in the theater. The sound is amplified by mikes and speakers, which for some sequences is necessary, but not for all, especially the banging on the garbage cans at the end. I' m sad to give this such a negative review for what is more or less a technical mistake, but I think other people should know. My ears were ringing long after the show was over.

I took my 13 year old daughter to see this show. I've been wanting to see this show for years! We both agreed that this show was nothing short of amazing. The music that they make out of different items and materials is great.....but......the reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was pretty long. One hour, 45 minutes with no intermission. I would love to take my 8 year old to see this show - but it's just too long. I heard younger kids in the row in front of us asking their dad when it was going to be over. They were probably about 9 or 10 years old. The first time I looked at my watch was after an hour and 5 minutes. My daughter and I both agreed that the show would be perfect if they brought it down to an hour and 20 minutes. Seats - There were only 7 seats left to choose from by the time I bought tickets. I thought they were going to be bad seats. We were all the way to the right side in Row N. Honestly, the stadium is on the smaller side so I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. If you're off to the side - no worries - you'll be able to see the show just fine! Hope this review helps!!!!

This is a very high energy show - its starts our slow and by the end you're just like "WOW". The venue at the Broadway Playhouse is just great - not a bad seat in the whole place. The artists are amazing. John Angeles (who is like the lead person) did just an awesome job. One of the other artists - who I can't determine his name from the program - was the comedy talent. He was so funny that it kept you in stitches and he didn't have to talk!
