Sevendust

Atlanta’s Sevendust is a metal band that perfectly melds thrash, classic metal, southern rock and soul together into a beautifully balanced yet brutally heavy modern metal mix. The quintet of Morgan Rose (drums), Vince Hornsby (bass), guitarists John Connolly and Clint Lowery (who rejoined the band in 2008) and frontman Lajon Witherspoon, released their ninth studio album, "Black Out The Sun," in 2013. The album hit the Billboard 200 charts at No. 18 and the Top Hard Music Albums Chart at No.

First of all, I've been to almost 600 concerts in my lifetime, and I can say without a doubt that Sevendust always puts on the greatest live show every time I see them. However I must say that the venue they played at named Aura, had the WORST set up for a concert I've EVER seen. I know from my days of attending shows at there old place, the Asylum, that they are limited with space there, but whoever designed their new set up should be shot (figuratively, not literally). They used half their space for giant bars, so the space for standing is very limited. The setting is OK upstairs, but you're pretty crunched in and really, who wants to have to sit down at a metal show? And the upstairs standing room is limited and if you're not right up front, you can see down on the bands. Just a terrible set up for a concert. I hope that when Sevendust comes back to our area, they play the State Theater in Portland or the Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach like they use to annually. It adds another hour on to my already long drive from Downeast, but at least you can see and enjoy the show from anywhere in those two venues.

This was the first time i have ever been to the Masquerade, IT WAS AMAZING!!!! i was no more than 10 feet from the band and the ticket price was so cheap for that view! over all i am deeply inpressed with the cost and the quality of the show, i payed alittle over $100 to go to a concert a while back and had to use the projection screen to see. if anyone is reading this Masquerade Rocks Face! Now for the show itself, which again was amazing! all three bands are bands id love to see again! Sevendust came out and everyone went wild, this show is one i will not forget!

I would recommend Sevendust to any hard rock or metal fan. They put on the best show. I have never been disappointed in going to see them. I feel on top of the world while at their show. The fans of Sevendust are like no other. The whole place has this amazing energy. The entire band interacts with the audience, their energy is amazing. I don't have enough words to describe how incredible the guys of Sevendust are. Just go see their show!!!!!

The first opener, Dixie, was electric. Amazing. Knee deep wasn't really my thing (the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars), but the energy was good. Sevendust was absolutely wonderful. The Masquerade is such a GREAT place to see shows, big enough for a crowd, but small enough that you always feel like you're onstage! I had a great time.

I usually have a great time at this venue, but the lighting was awful for this show. The first act was a solo guy and his guitar. The second band; hell I couldn't even see their faces. Between being blinded by the lights behind the band, they almost had no lights shining on the artists. Pretty sad.

This would be my 3rd time seeing Sevendust live, but my first seeing them as the headliner of the night. They did not disappoint at all. They played songs from their older albums as well as newer ones, and kept the crown involved the entire show. Sevendust is renowned for being exceptionally thankful to their fans and they absolutely showed that appreciation at this show.

Sevendust was awesome once they finally got on the stage. They were energetic, excited to be there and got a lot of crowd participation. The crowd was one vibrating ball of energy. The air crackled with electricity. It was awesome. I didnt like the fact that we were told by management that they didnt want us take pictures. We pay to see them perform and would like memories from the concert. I can understand videos but pictures. Unfortunately because they took so long to come out I wasn't able to stay for the entire set. I love them anyway. They seem to be great guys off stage as well.,

So I drove 4 hours to go to the Sevendust concert and it had some great opening bands so I was pretty excited about that so I figured that since Sevendust was the main event that the show would be unforgettable, but I really wasnt that impressed. They played some good songs but most of them were not their "hits." Then suprisingly they didnt even play that long! $70.00 for tickets, I figured they would have at least played an hour. Theyn played a half hour tops! Then to make things worse, I guess Sevendust was not happy that the crowd was taking video and pictures of the concert and this was not relayed to the fans at all! No signs were posted and nothing was ever said until they started confiscating peoples phones and cameras. So I thought to myself, "ok, no big deal. If they dont want unauthorized video out there, ok" but why take a select few peoples cameras and not EVERYONE there. I mean, why should only a few have to deal with their stuff being taken. So then I waited in the cold for 2 hours after the show while they "attempted" to find the box of cameras... long story short, I drove 4 hours home with no camera!!!! UGH. Definately not the most memorable concert ever.

Let's start at the top of the ballot. Janus played a solid set. Although I was unfamiliar with their material other than 'Eyesore' which has been heard on the radio, they definitely served their purpose as the warm-up band. Some members of my group are of the opinion that the lead singer's vocals do not match the rest of the group, but I liken them to a more alternative version of Chevelle. Their lead singer does have some strange show mannerisms, but everyone is different. These guys are up and coming and it will be interesting to see what happens. Dirge Within without a doubt increased the intensity. They brought the heavy metal to Austin's Fuel room and the crowd was extremely receptive to them. Another band whose material I am not entirely familiar with, but they were rocking hard and their frontman knows how to put on a show and get the crowd going. Sevendust simply tore the roof off. They played a sick setlist of old material as well as new material and announced (probably not for the first time) that they are working on their 8th album. In such an intimate venue as Austin's Fuel Room, the sound of LJ and the crowd singing Angel's Son, Bitch and others was deafening the way metal should be. The guys of Sevendust were having a great time on stage. Morgan was throwing sticks into the crowd simultaneously as members of the crowd would throw sticks back at him. It became a game they played all show. During their encore, because Morgan had recently been playing with Motley Crue, the band joking surprised him with Kickstart My Heart. They also jammed through Metallica's Master of Puppets and Pantera's Walk before closing with their own Face to Face. On a side not, Dan and Mike from Disturbed were also in attendance. Its nice to see bands supporting their friends. If you have not seen Sevendust live, do it.

This was my 8th time seeing Sevendust!! It just keeps getting better and better. I have seen them in large venues, but there is nothing better than seeing them at the small ones. If you can make your way to the center of the stage through the mosh pit and as close as you can its almost a religious experience. They make you feel like your stop was the only stop on their tour or that yours is the best one. The music was very tight and loud! Still cant believe that in 13 years they still are not super stars, but I think I like it better that way.

I traveled 7 hours over that retarded hoover dam to get married and see my favorite band sevendust hoping that it would be at least a good show. Boy was that an underestimation! They were so on that night that i forgot i was in a cramped space. Sure i could have done without drowning pool and digital summer and hope to never see them again but bring out The Flood anytime you want. I've never seen them click so well together that i could overlook the fact that i didn't get to hear everything i wanted to hear. I'm looking forward to the new album and hope they hit the southwest in the very near future.

Sevendust is the best live act I've seen (and I've been to more than a 100 concerts). They are just incredibly amazing. They live through the gig almost like audience, they are alive on the stage, have (all the memebers!) great contact with the public, and they are exceptional musicians. This particular concert was even better than usual. It was a New Year's Eve party and when midnight has come, they've invited their families for a New Year's toast. And then they played further like it would be the last show on Earth. Amazing, amazing show.

Sevendust never disappoints! They always have been amazing! I will always see them anytime they're in town. The only thing that would have been better is if the Old National Centre would have put them in the Egyptian Room instead of the hot as hell, crowded basement. It makes no since to have a dance party that only sold 600 tickets upstairs and Sevendust who sold 1200 tickets in a room more than half the size. We were like sardines in there!

If you ever been to a Sevendust concert, you know your going to see crowd surfing & a mosh pit break out. Sevendust is larger than life, no matter what level of a venue size you put them in. They bring in a crowd & with a 20+ year success they love their family cause that is what we are to them, we're family. Sevendust has the best meet & greet with a sound check, picture with the band & early entering the venue, so you can get the best spot for the show. American Bombshell which is a local band here in Indianapolis, IN. This was my second time seeing them & man was it amazing, this band is going places. I would like to see Sevendust come back & have American Bombshell on that bill once again, the energy level is top notch from both bands.

Getting tickets to this Sevendust show was the best decision. Having seen them live only once before and that time being the first time I ever crowd surfed, it seemed only fitting I go see them again after 13 years (I think). The venue was smaller than last time so it was a more intimate experience. The music was good. The crowd was awesome and it showed as the members of the band were truly humbled by the love they received here in Ft Lauderdale. They interacted with the fans, let them sing their songs, spoke to them (us) about how grateful they are and abut life. It was such a great experience to see the human side. I would definitely recommend anyone go see Sevendust live. Absolutely amazing and fun time.

4th time seeing Sevendust and the energy hasn't disappeared from the guys yet. Tho there weren't many songs from Killthe Flaw, Sevendust did reach back to at least six albums in their history for some crowd faves, some that haven't been played in a while, and some recent tunes. Lajon's voice is incredible, Clint and John brought the wall of guitars straight to your face, Morgan was amazing on drums as usual, and Vinny ran the stage with inexhaustible energy...maybe showing that his birthday on the weekend meant another year older but nothing was gonna stop the kid in him! Sevendust was the headliner but their guest bands, Gemini Syndrome and Red Sun Rising, were perfect openers to get the crowd pumped and they definitely gained new followers. It was the first time my wife had seen Sevendust, and tho not her typical genre, she would jump at the chance to see the guys play again!!

Apparently there were 4 acts on this bill, but as I generally don't arrive at venues when the doors open I missed the earlier acts. Regardless, I was there to see Trivium for the first time and Sevendust (for what is probably the 20th). Both were solid performances. The crowd's energy was a bit low at the start of the Trivium set, but gradually grew to match the band's riffs. The band itself were a tad hampered by the drum riser that took up most of the stage, but otherwise their performance was great. Sevendust, despite 20 years of performing, showed no rust during their set. Lead singer Lajon W. appeared emotional at being home in the ATL but the emotion only added to the performance. The only downside to the night, and this is a minor one, was the fact that they played zero songs off of their first, self-titled album.

First off Gemini Syndrome was freaking amazing. Its great to see a band that absolutely cares about the fans to let them touch their equipment (talking about you AP!) the venue was perfect and it held the right amount of crazyness. The other opening bands were awesome and so was 7dust.

From the first moment I heard the opening for Black back in 1997... I knew Sevendust was the best Industrial Metal band on the planet. Seen them a dozen times since and they always put on a great show. That said, and...I can't blame them - they seemed a bit tired for this show. The emotion was there, in spades, and I love their version of acoustic!

Four of us went , not sure what to expect. We had the opportunity to see a few other shows that night, but we chose Sevendust. None of us expected what we got that night. We made the right choice for sure!! Only one other time have I been so moved at a concert. We are all still in awe on how great this show was. From the vocals, to the guitar riffs, to the drumlines, it was all done so magically. The song selection & the arrangement of those songs were perfection. If ANYONE thinks they don't need to see this band, especially acoustically, then they have lost their minds. Thank you guys, for such a brilliant show.

I have listened to Sevendust ever since 1999. My friend Bryan let me listen to their first CD on the way to school, and before you know it we were singing Licking Cream together from the new Home CD I had purchased. Fast forward to a couple years later and my friend passed away at the early age of 26 because he had diabetes and he didn't take care of himself. A lot of Sevendust's songs are about death, and about life, and a lot of time I can just hear my friend singing along with me, and it makes me sad for all the songs he never got to hear. So whenever I get a change to see Sevendust, I try. This show was so amazing, they took the stage 15 minutes early, and played for almost 2 hours with a small intermission in-between. I've seen them before doing a non-acoustic show, and Lajon still talked to the crowd, but with this being an acoustic show, the evening was more intimate, and he explained stories and meanings behind some of the songs. I don't know if it was just my imagination, but it really seemed like the band really wanted to just throw down and say screw doing the rest acoustically, especially during Karma! Lajon has such an awesome voice, and there are just points in the song where you feel "it", and with Lajon like right in your face singing his heart out it's simply amazing. I only wished there had been more people at this show, to add to the energy of the venue, and to get even louder to give the band the props they deserved. I got to take my two younger brothers who are 23 and 21, it was my first time going to a concert with either of them, their first time seeing Sevendust live, and one of them's first times hearing Sevendust at all! If you're on the fence thinking the show might be boring because it's acoustic, having no worries, Sevendust delivers as always!!!!

I've been a fan of the almighty Sevendust since 1997. I've seen them live a total of 26 times as of this acoustic concert. Each time, they've always shown high energy, emotion and raw love for the fans. Very accessible and they know how to make a crowd feel intimate, especially with an acoustic show. 7D knows how to set a mood and suck you into their world, which to me, is what it is all about. I would very much love to see them obtain a residency at Hard Rock Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. I would come to every single show as would my friends. I work with musicians for living both as an audio engineer and as a graphic designer and visual consultant for merch. and live events. Nothing but good things to say. They should be only getting bigger shows and better time slots during festivals they play because they always bring it. Sevendust has arrived....

I have never been disappointed with a Sevendust show at any venue and this one was right up there with the rest. House of Blues on sunset is on par with all of the other House of Blues venues I have been too. Hope to see another show again there soon.

I've been to many Sevendust shows through the years. It goes without saying that they are one of the most dedicated bands out there, who put their all into each show for the fans. The performance was hard hitting as usual but also technically sound. After taking a small break from the road for R&R they sounded better than ever, and reminded me of why I love them as a band so much. Even though we were hoping to be among the first to hear a song or two from their upcoming album (they plan on hitting the studio in September), they played at least two songs from each of their eight albums, and crafted an incredible set list that kept the crowd on its toes. Can't wait to see them again once the new album comes out. If you're a fan of the band but have never seen them live, don't waste another moment; get out there if you can.

All three bands were incredible, but Black Tide was the surprise of the night. I was front and center, and myself and the surrounding 10ish people were all planning to wait their set out since we had never heard of them or listened to their music. Then they came on and just blew us away. Amazing performance, great music. My whole group will be buying their album.

I don't know how many times I have seen this band but all I know is that every time I go it's never a let down! If there is ever a chance to see them you need to experience 7D. The energy that they put out is so powerful that it gets you rockin' all night! So many great songs how could anyone ever have a bad time! and lastly, NJ is one of the most kick ass places to see a Sevendust show! NJ's love for the band is huge and thats what makes show even more enjoyable! GO SEE THEM!!

I have to say the venue was Smaller than the New Port in Ohio & The Croc in Allentown, where we have seen them in the past. Over all besides pushing through the crowd to get to center and dealing w/ fall down drunks (typical of young 21 yr olds), It was a great show. 10 Yrs put on a great stage show. Sevendust Rocked the Altar with both old & new stuff. We took (2) people who had never seen them before & they both had a blast! I wish the Venue would have set up different, Under 21 up stairs and Pre-sale ticket holders up front , and bar crowd in the middle & back. But other than that.. Great show! Got to see Morgan running to his bus. Wished there would have been a meet n greet , met the guys before but always good to have time to chat with them!! Amazing band over all!! Great concert!! Merch was reasonable for this show!! Props for that... Took our 17 yr old... who looked like it was Christmas!! He was blown away!! The only downfall was the smoke machine made pictures really tough!! But we got some good shots!!

Hard to believe that these guys have been at this for 20 years. Incredible show from top to bottom; the band brought in a great energy with each song and kept it throughout the entire performance. It was great to hear their debut album straight through, as it gave us a chance to hear songs off of that album that we had never heard live before. And while the Electric Factory is not the best venue in the city, it is perfectly built for shows like this. Glad to have been a part of it.

They played their first record in it's entirety and the place went crazy. It was an older crowd and I thought it would be tame, but they moshed from the first to the last song. Great chemistry and energy from the band. Starland Ballroom holds about 2,500 and there was no room to move. If you can see them in a club, I highly recommend going.

This concert was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! There was so much energy!!! So much unity!!! So much love for music, for rock/metal, for SEVENDUST!!!! The band were in such an a great mood, clearly enjoying and relishing the experience as much as the rest of us!!! They were joking around, busting each others balls in between performances, thanking the fans and letting us know how much we are appreciated and loved!!!! EVERYONE WAS GOING SO CRAZY WITH THE ENERGY AND MUSIC I WASN'T SURE IF I WAS GOING TO MAKE IT OUT LOL I NEVER ROCKED OUT SO MUCH IN A CONCERT BEFORE!!! (ALTHOUgh I didn't go to that many of them lol) But the point was that the experience was one of a kind and I am sure will be a once in a lifetime thing, it was simply unforgettable!!!! The venue was great too :) They had bars in all corners, the staff was very welcoming and friendly, and everyone was just having so much fun. We were all strangers in the beginning of the night but once in inside we were all family :) :) Thank you Sevendust!!!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!! Thank you The Space!!!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
