We arrived in the middle of Classixx set and were surprised at the quality of the sound at the venue. Classix had a great setup and sound, and I am now a true Classix fan. The setup time for Cut Copy was inordinately long - setting up took almost 45 minutes, but it was worth it. Cut Copy puts on an amazing show, has amazing sound, engages the audience, really gets into their music and digs their fans. Truly one of the best shows I've been to in a while. They played all the hits and some tracks from their new album, which lasted over an hour and a half, and the songs were perfectly balanced to allow the crowd to rest after dancing and then rock again after resting. I was pleasantly surprised that the music was organic in that it wasn't just keyboards; everyone played at least 2 instruments and the sound was amazing. "Let Me Show You Love" was a prime example of organic sound, with the live performance being better than the recorded version and just melting faces.

Really fun show at the Palladium, which by the way is a nice venue. Everybody was dancing and singing along; it felt like a big party. Their sound reminds me of Depeche Mode of Violator days , with a little techno and pop mixed in. NIce varied crowd too.

Five songs into a ninety minute set during their last of a three show run at Terminal 5 on Wednesday, Cut Copy s Dan Whitford announced to the audience, We don t really know how to play instruments that well. Luckily for Dan, his fans don t seem to care. The sold out performance was added after tickets for the first two originally scheduled shows quickly sold out. Following a performance by opening act Midnight Magic, whose lead singer Tiffany Roth spent not a little bit of time shaking her chesticles for the audience, Cut Copy entered a little after 9pm through a large white door centered on stage. They began with Nobody Lost, Nobody Found , a track from 2008 s In Ghost Colours. The crowd vibrated; the bass reverberated and Dan danced around like and Evangelical preacher. At one point during Pharaohs & Pyramids , a song from the band s new album Zonoscope, guitarist Tim Hoey jumped up on the drum kit and started manning the cymbals. What the band lacks in instrumental prowess they make up for with sweat drenched energy and 80 s throw back ruminations. Also quite clever what Tim does with his guitar in lieu of actual playing. He alternated between using a drumstick and the side of the stage, barring the strings of his six string, effectively creating a synthetic wham. Speaking of Wham, Tim could easily be the Andrew Ridgley of Cut Copy. Ending with their latest single, Need You Now , the Melbourne men induced the crowd to throw their drinks and napkins in the air. Cut Copy knows when they re welcome and in New York our casa is their casa.

Been a fan of Cut Copy for awhile but never had the pleasure of seeing them live. Was lucky to catch tickets to one of their shows at NYC in advance before they quickly sold out. Stellar show. Was a little unsure of how the group would perform live after years of falling in love with their past two albums and was worried whether or not the show would be a disappointment. I am glad to say it was not. Every piece they played sounded better than the album masters and the show was filled with music interludes and twists not present it any recorded format - just the way a concert should be in my opinion. Dan Whitford improvised on the sound board during several long building instances of the electro/dance/psych pop sound that define the group so well, but kept the energy of the crowd constantly on. I hate Terminal 5 though. It's definitely the worst of The Bowery Presents venues and would kill to have seen this guys in The Bowery Ballroom or Webster Hall. But everyone large plays T5 these days. Despite that, I thought they filled the space well and in the end it didn't diminish my experience. Definitely see these guys if you ever get the chance. Without a doubt, one of the most talented groups playing right now with one of the most unique and innovative sounds. The show is a lot more fun than their album style might suggest, and even better in terms of quality.

The Cut Copy concert was amazing! There was so much energy from the band and from the crowd. To be honest, I was never a big fan of their "Lights and Music" single, but just seeing and hearing it live was mind blowing and made me have a new appreciation for the song! Lights and Music was definitely what was being conveyed in this concert. I loved that they incorporated a lot of the old stuff as well as the new stuff. The concert was just amazing and the crowd could not get enough. After they were done playing the encore, we couldn't get enough and insisted they come out and play for us again....and they did, for one more song! It was a pretty magical night. :)

Didn't see the opener, but Cut Copy played a very enjoyable, high-energy set. The crowd had more bros in attendance than I expected, and there were a decent number of people who felt the need to push their way from the middle of the auditorium to the back (I'm guessing to use the restroom, since most of them appeared to be drunk), then push their way back to wherever they were standing before. I think it's a result of Cut Copy gaining some popularity since their last US tour, so it's inevitable that it wouldn't just be the mellow hipster crowd at the show I saw during the In Ghost Colours tour. The lowlight of the evening was security. The guy doing pat-downs didn't provide adequate warning about emptying your pockets (this is the only place I've been where they do this; one time the guy even checked the cuffs of my jeans). The coat check was also really poorly run. There was a mad dash for it at the end of the show (again, lots of heavily perfumed guys with gelled-up hair pushing through the crowd), and they only had two people taking tickets and returning coats when they could've used maybe six.

Excellent show and very fitting venue for Cut Copy's style of concert. They went on very promptly (10 p.m.?) and only played about an hour a half, which I thought was a little short. Though to be fair, they could have played until daylight and I would have still wanted more. Can't wait to see them play again!

It was pretty much as expected! I unfortunately can't be too verbose about the experience. Holy Ghost! dida great job opening up for Cut Copy and amping up the crowd. Cut Copy's emergance with that LCD door was really sick to see, and the videos they had playing on that combined with the gentle, inviting light work really completed the overall aesthetic. The familiar smell of cigarettes and cannibis was around me, as is usual for Terminal 5. This was perhaps my third time at this venue for a show. It was overall a very chill and enjoyable show!

This was the first stop of their North American Tour for their new CD "Zonoscpoe". These dudes blew it out, man. Cut Copy (or so I've heard) usually gives a really good live show, so this show was quite disappointing. That might have been the fact that it was the first show in the United States on their tour with new material, but still... it was not very good. 3/4 of the guys in the band acted super jetlagged, while the guitar player acted as though he'd had a shot of a 5 hour energy right before the show started. He was all manic, erratic energy until about halfway through the show, when he, too burned out. The worst part about the entire thing was that they played so much of the music off of a backing track. For probably 15 minutes total in the show, the band members weren't even pretending to play their instruments, they were all just standing at microphones shouting lyrics (with the exception of the drummer, who just lacklusterly hit on his hi hat, snare, and bass drum all night). When Ben Browning played his bass (for about 3 songs, the rest of the time he just stood there or fiddled with a keyboard), it had some resonant frequencies with the building and shook the place and was really loud on some notes. The singer's voice was a bit off because he said that the air from the plane ride over from Australia was not good for his pipes . Indeed We walked out early, during the very uninspired-sounding encore

Cut Copy played for maybe, oh, an hour and fifteen minutes. For that, I do not think the price of these tickets were worth it. The venue was full, but not packed. We still had a good time...for an hour or so, but really? Did Cut Copy not think to play more songs? I would expect more considering the price of the tickets. I could have hung at home and just listened to their music on full volume. In fact, I think I will do that next time, unless if they're playing somewhere more obscure.

I've been in love with Cut Copy ever since I heard Zonoscope at a party. Pretty much all their songs are awesome. There was no disappointment seeing them live as each song was every bit as good, some were even better (their live version of Hearts on Fire was pretty significantly different, but super-excellent). Usually bands sound "rough" in person, compared to their polished albums, but the singer was just as good and so were the electronics. And the lights were great. My only complaint would be that the band made little effort to dress up, but due to the light show, that was not really noticeable.

Saw Cut Copy in NJ at a similar, historic type theatre two years ago. It was memorable, but Cut Copy at THE FOX THEATRE just OOZED with love and energy! My boyfriend and I had previously committed to engagements on this day and were not planning on going to the show, but after listening to the new album, we decided we would make it work some how! We bought the tickets on Ticketmaster the morning of. The prices were still the same, and floor general admission was surprisingly not sold out. We arrived just before 10pm, lucked out on parking, and retrieved our tickets at the Box Office with ease. No line at all to get our wristbands. Place got dark within minutes of our arrival (great timing). We were going to hang out on the floor, but apparently, Cut Copy fans are really tall, and we could not see the stage, nor could we make room to dance. So, we went back to the general admission area near the bar, and the good vibes were free flowing and abundant! Everyone was dancing and/or singing along. As for the band, you can tell they are veteran musicians. Everything sounded flawless. They fed off of the crowd's energy. It's like they could read our minds as far as what we wanted to hear next They literally played all of their dance hits. The venue was beautiful and crazy! The light show added a whole other element to the show. It was surreal just being there. I feel very fortunate to be living in a time where music like this is being made and performed. Thank you, CUT COPY. Thank you, FOX THEATRE! Thank you, OAKLAND! Everything came together perfectly.

I've enjoyed their music for some time now but unfortunately have missed all of their festival shows (Coachella's, Pacific) due to conflicts. WOW is all I can say. No wonder everyone goes on about them. The energy level they exhibited on stage only made the crowd get even more hyped. It was like visceral communication between the crowd and the band that just egged each other on to greater heights. The sweat, the dancing, the screaming. I had heard a handful of CUT COPY's songs and I liked them, but I primarily bought my tickets to see Washed Out open. I was actually kind of underwhelmed by Washed Out's act, which is unfortunate because I enjoyed the new album so much. Their set list also seemed a bit short. When I listen to CUT COPY now, I feel it does them no justice. Their stage presence is incredible and I haven't seen a live act with that much energy in a long time. Really a fun (and sweaty) show, be prepared to jump & fist-pump! Definitely was a bit claustrophobic near the stage. Got whacked in the head by elbows a couple times and had booze spilled on me, which was kind of a buzzkill. I had friends who were towards the rear of the venue and they said they had more room to move around & dance. Kudos to whoever handled the lighting effects!

I enjoy discovering bands when they're first starting out. When I bought Cut Copy's first album I could tell they were going to develop into an amazing band. I just got to see that amazing band on Monday. Holy Ghost was a great choice for an opening. I'm familiar with them and loved seeing them live. By the time Cut Copy went on the House of Blues was packed with a capital P. I have never seen the club so jammed and that includes shows for much more established acts. The joyful spirit of the crowd was infestious. I was fortunately on the Mezzanine Level, which gave me a great view and plenty of dancing room. And believe me baby, I danced my ass off. We all did. I think the band was as delightfully surprised with us as we were with them. Thank you Cut Copy for a fantastic show. One of the best I've ever been too.

Cut Copy was phenomenal. They started the show off right away with some upbeat songs that kept going and going. The crowd loved them and there was so much dancing that I think I sweat through my leather jacket! The band was so amazing interchanging intsruments from time to time and showing how truly talented they all are. The lights and stage were equally impressive with a massive door in the middle decorated with images and and lights. I love Cut Copy and had wanted to see them for some time, but having seen many shows, it became apparent quickly that most of the music was recorded, and they were pretending to play it. I don't think many attendees noticed, or maybe didn't care, but it was obvious if you paid attention. The lighting, mostly from behind and strobes, helped to sell the illusion so you couldn't see their lips or they're fingers on instruments easily. It was a real shame, but I still love them.

We had a wonderful time at the concert. The doors opened 1 hour after the stated time. Classixx came on first, and they were just the thing to get the crowd pumped up. Because of the late start, I began to worry that Cut Copy wouldn't get to play very many songs, but everything turned out to be just fine. Cut Copy gave a fantastic performance and played all the songs I had been hoping to hear. The place was pretty packed and people kept trying to squeeze us in. The last few times I've been to this venue the crowd has been pretty ruthless about shoving their way past you to get the spot they want. Don't sit in the front row, all the people standing in front start to back up and you'll get squashed. Better to sit on the side sections or 2nd row for best results.

Always catch Cut Copy when they are in town, always put on a solid performance. Palladium as always proves to be one of the bets venues in LA.

Didn't know what to expect live from them but boy was I in awe by the end of the night. Not only were they amazingly good but the over all feeling and vibe to this show was next to none. They definitely know how to rock the house. Never a dull moment. From start to finish I was living every second of it.

First time to the Newport. A great place to see a show! Close and personal with the act. As we walked in, music was provided by a one person show. She was the amazing Jessy Lanza. A pretty young woman with a memorable breathy soprano voice. Flanked by two vintage Roland synths and a Mac for sequencing, she fed us electronic music reminiscent of the Art of Noise. She humbly signed her CDs for sale in the lobby and briefly spoke with people who looked to chat with her. She was awesome! Between her and the main event, a djay used a sampled loop from Jessy which eased into upbeat dance music to keep the crowd bopping while the stage was reset. Without a curtain, all was there to see. And band members came into view as things were set up. Cut Copy with their unmistakable genre grabbed the audience from the start and did not let go until their encore which ended with Need You Now. A light show of moving head projectors, strobes, a powerful computer projector and fog dazzled as did the group. The energy of the music and Cut Copy's lead singer translated nicely to the crowd who waved, raised their hands and sang along at his lead. Missing was the common drum solo and bassist takeover while the rest took a break. It was not that long of a show. Surprisingly absent though was an introduction of the band members. I think crowds like to recognize them individually during shows. The Newport is a great place to see a show and this pair, Jessy Lanza and Cut Copy was a great show to see!

To see Cut Copy in concert was a dream come true. Huge fan since forever, and to see them come at Terminal 5 NYC was the best. It was a dance party(atleast for me and my friend) The band was fun but not as pumped as I would have thought, since they hadn't done a show in NYC for the longest. But nonetheless it was a treat to see them perform and I hope to again.

I have seen MANY concerts and venues, and been to various festivals, but nothing tops Cut Copy's energy. Their performance was unforgettable and uplifting :)

The warm-up act was ok, artistic but perhaps a bit too slow and blue for warm-up. It consisted of a solo act by a woman who played downtempo synth house/dub/whatnot and sang with a dreamy voice. The band came in on time and did their show, which lacked effort and enthusiasm. When they first finished, people were shouting things like "I gave my money for this? Get back here!" The band returned for an encore of a few songs and then left.

Cut Copy always puts on a fantastic show! This was no exception, they sounded great, though I couldn't see a thing thanks to Terminal 5's horrible layout.

Short concert by Cut/Copy. Not a memorable event. Others around us also commented how short the show was.

I liked the venue but would have been better if there were more people that had attended. Cu Copy went on at 9.15 and ended at a exactly 10.40!!!! Very disappointing length of time for as big as they are and tickets weren't the cheapest.

CUT/COPY IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I've been a fan for several years and this was the second time I've seen them in DC. The venue, however, is less than desirable. The sound and general feeling was just ok. Please return to 9:30 Club or another more intimate venue.

Worth every penny! Even if you have never heard of the band before I would recommend seeing them perform. They are amazing at grabbing you into their songs, before you know it you're singing along.
